Arn Anderson On Why Cody Rhodes Was Booed On AEW Dynamite
AEW manager and wrestling legend Arn Anderson joined Busted Open Radio Friday to talk about his partnership with Cody Rhodes. Anderson was asked about the poor reception Rhodes received this past Wednesday on Dynamite for his match against Malakai Black. He offered up a theory as to why Rhodes was booed.
“I’m just speculating and I don’t pretend a mind reader, but I’m trying to get into the head of a wrestling fan,” Anderson said. “The most talented guy and the number one guy in Hollywood right now is The Rock. There’s no disputing that, I’m talking as an actor. John Cena was a guy that had always stood and was dedicating 100% of his time to the fans, to the company, to the business. I feel like when he started doing movies and he was no longer with WWE, I think fans, possibly, not putting words in their mouth, may feel a little afraid that they got their support behind these guys, and then they got red hot and took off to Hollywood.
“I don’t think that’s the case. They earned everything they got and I think they deserve a chance, certainly Rock and Cena, to pursue other things. I think that may be ‘okay, Cody’s going to get red hot. He’s going to do all these shows and he’s not going to be around any more.’ And I think they might feel a little bit, I don’t want to say betrayed, but slighted a little bit.”
The boos for Rhodes and a confrontation with the referee during the match have led to speculation about a possible Rhodes heel turn, something he himself has denied. Rhodes and Anderson also had a brief confrontation during the match, after Rhodes accidentally knocked Anderson off the ring apron.
As Anderson pointed out, Rhodes does have several Hollywood obligations in his future. The former two time TNT Champion is a judge on the game show The Go Big Show, which recently filmed its second season, and will star alongside his wife, Brandi Rhodes, in the new reality series Rhodes to the Top, premiering September 29 following AEW Dynamite.
UNITED WRESTLING NETWORK TO CROWN FIRST CHAMPION NEXT SATURDAY ON PRIMETIME LIVE RETURN PPV
The United Wrestling Network's Prime Time Live will return with a two hour live PPV broadcast on Saturday 10/2 on Fite.TV at 9:30 PM EST and will finally, finally, finally crown their first-ever champion when Chris Dickinson faces Mike Bennett.
Primetime Live ran as a weekly PPV series from September through December 2020 from Thunder Studios in California because COVID-19 concerns led to a pause on all production. The series featured a tournament to crown the first-ever UWN Champion, with Chris Dickinson and Mike Bennett going to the finals. The match was finally slated to take place at the debut Championship Wrestling from Atlanta taping, but the remnants of Hurricane Ida devastating the Northeast prevented Dickinson from making the taping. Now, with the constellations hopefully aligned, the match will finally take place.
The Commerce, CA taping at the Commerce Casino will be part of a Championship Wrestling from Hollywood TV taping. After two episodes of CWH are taped, they will go live on FITE.
Also announced for the taping:
*David Finlay vs. Will Alday.
*Gino Rivera vs Juicy Finau.
*Midnight Heat vs "Pretty" Peter Avalon & Ray Rosas aka "PPRay"
*Clark Connor, Karl Fredricks & Alex Coughlin vs Kevin Martinson, Rust Taylor & Daniel Garcia
*Ruby Raze vs Viva Van.
*Blake Troop makes his pro wrestling debut.

Some Promoters Are So Desperate They'll Book Anybody- Marty Scurll Making His Return To Pro Wrestling
After having sexual allegations levied against him. There's actually a promoter dumb enough to book him on a show.
Scurll has been away from wrestling after being named in last year’s #SpeakingOut movement. Prior to that, Scurll had re-signed with Ring of Honor and was set to take on the duties of head booker for the company. He went on a hiatus after being named in the movement and ROH officially announced the two had parted ways back in January of this year.
Story on that can be seen here. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/06/as-marty-scurll-remains-employed-by-nwa.html
And here https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/10/news-on-marty-scurll-being-removed-from.html
Back in late January, he was involved with a storyline at a NJPW Strong taping, but it never aired, reportedly due to the backlash from fans. It was then reported Scurll wouldn’t be appearing at any future NJPW or NJPW Strong shows in the near future.
Scurll hasn’t wrestled a match since March of 2020.
But NNOOW, there's apparently some schmuck who's desperate to make a buck that has him booked on a show.
What, in the fuck, was that moron thinking.
Marty Scurll is scheduled to make his return to pro wrestling for CWA in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday, October 23 at Halloween Fan Fest.
Keep the under age girls away from him.
When Indie Wrestlers Do Stupid Stunts, THIS Is What Happens (Take Notes And Learn From This)
This past weekend at a Primos Premier Pro Wrestling event in Denver, Colorado, an indie wrestler named Benny Cumberbatch sustained a serious neck injury.
The spot that left Cumberbatch in the hospital occurred during the finals of a deathmatch tournament. He received a Canadian destroyer (flipping piledriver) off of a balcony into a collection of tables and other debris. What added to the risk factor was the fact that all the padding in the ring was removed, leaving nothing but exposed wood below the tables.
Cumberbatch, a local favorite in Colorado, is currently in the hospital, with one source telling people that “things are not looking so good” for him.
Of course it isn't, you do a dumb ass stunt like that, with no padding or SOMETHING top help 'cushion the fall' you end up with stupid fucking injuries like this, DUH! Even Stevie Wonder could this was cause for disaster, and for what? MAYBE 100 "marks"; chanting "He's Hardcore, He's Hardcore" OORR the usual and typical "This is awesome, this is awesome".
How awesome do you think feels NOW? Fucking dumb ass.
A Gofundme page to assist Cumberbatch and his family in paying medical bills and any other related expenses has been organized in honor of the indie wrestler. You can access that fundraiser at this link.
The fundraiser page includes a passage that reads, “Professional wrestlers take huge risks every time they step in the ring, and when the risk is successful, the fans delight. However, those risks can have serious consequences when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, something went wrong for one of those wrestlers and he needs our help.
“All funds will go to Benny and his family to use to cover medical costs or however they choose. Please give what you can, and if you can’t give anything, please share with your friends and family. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.”
Primos Premiere Pro Wrestling, the organization that hosted the event where Benny was injured, has also committed to helping the cause. They have contributed all proceeds from the deathmatch tournament to Benny’s medical bills.
What they 'need to pout out there' is an order of no more of these dumb ass stunts.
Did the promoter of this show know that stunt was gonna happan? And knowing how dangerous it is why did he allow it if he knew about it?
There's some questions I bet won't be answered.
And here's another one, does this promotion have the balls to insist, moves like this aren't done any more, on ANY of their shows?
Any 'reasonable' promoter would put that order into place, immediately.

Gran Metalik Wants Out of WWE (And Who Could Blame Him)
According to lucha libre program Más Lucha, WWE star Gran Metalik has requested his release from the promotion, months after fellow luchador Andrade requested, and was granted, his release from WWE.
In their report, Más Lucha states that Metalik’s reasons for his request are due to his frustration with his direction in the company(Like that's any big surprise as WWE fails most of the talents they hire). They also note that Metalik’s deal runs through 2023 and he is looking to continue wrestling in the United States, his native Mexico and Japan, where he competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling on and off from 2010 to 2017.
A sixteen year pro from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Gran Metalik gained notoriety in CMLL, first under the name Metalik and later as Máscara Dorada. As Dorada, Metalik developed a reputation as one of the premiere high flyers in lucha libre, winning the CMLL World Welterweight Championship four times, a record that still holds to this day. In Japan, he notably challenged AEW star Kenny Omega for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship in 2015.
Metalik was brought into WWE in 2016 to compete in the Cruiserweight Classic, where he reached the finals before losing to TJ Perkins. He continued to appear in CMLL while working the CWC before signing with WWE later that year. His most notable run with the company has been a member of the Lucha House Party with Lince Dorado and Kalisto, who was released from WWE earlier this year.
Metalik was most recently seen on RAW competing in a Tag Team Turmoil match with Dorado to determine the next #1 contenders for the RAW Tag Team Championships. Should his release be granted, his last WWE appearance was on this week’s episode of Main Event, where he and Dorado lost to fellow luchadores Humberto Carillo and Angel Garza.
You can see the MAS Lucha story here. https://www.maslucha.com/gran-metalik-pide-su-liberacion-de-wwe/
There is no word if WWE will grant his release.

WWE'S Micromanaging Stupidity Continues With? BRYAN DANIELSON ASKED BY WWE NOT TO USE 'YES' CHANTS
Bryan Danielson isn’t using the ‘yes’ chant in AEW, saying that he is respecting WWE’s intellectual property.
In an interview on Rasslin with Brandon Walker, Danielson said that while he will lead others in doing the chant, he won’t do it himself. He said that this is due to a conversation with Kevin Dunn prior to his debut with AEW.
“I'm not doing it myself because I respect WWE's intellectual property,” Danielson said. “I don't think anything legally, they haven't threatened anything legally. So I had a great conversation with Kevin Dunn with WWE before I debuted with AEW. I was very upfront with WWE about, 'Okay, I want to let you guys know I'm leaving. This is my debut date’ and all that kind of stuff. They asked me, politely, to respect their intellectual property, even some of the things that couldn't be legally enforced. I'm trying my best to do that.”
Danielson made his debut for AEW at All Out back on September 5, choosing AEW over WWE after his contract with WWE expired earlier this year. In his final match for WWE, he lost to Roman Reigns in a WWE Universal title match where his career was on the line.
Prior to his in-ring AEW debut tomorrow at Dynamite: Grand Slam, Danielson wrote an article that was posted on Player’s Tribune thanking WWE.
So, WWE sent Kevin Dunn to ask Bryan not to do something they can't make him NOT do, AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! If that isn't one of the DUMBEST things I've ever seen WWE do.
What if Bryan would've said "no", then what? What can WWE do? Nothing but sit there and take it.
And if the fans do it the WWE can't do shit about that either.
They really do have a real 'interesting' mentality over at WWE, don't they.
Instead of trying to improve their product, trying to get their creatively challenged creative department to actually 'create;' something that's 'creative' enough to keep fans interested. They instead do this dumb shit.
Yep, nice to see that the WWE has their 'priorities' in order (shakes head).
Dave Meltzer Gets "Checked" By Alexa Bliss. (Not The First Time Meltzer Has Been Put In his Place)
Alexa Bliss took to Twitter this afternoon and called out Wrestling Observer Newsletter editor Dave Meltzer over a report he made on last night’s RAW. And once again, Meltzer got 'checked'.
It was reported on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that there were around 8,000 fans in attendance at the PNC Arena for last night’s RAW in Raleigh, and that 1,500 fans got up and left the arena during the Alexa’s Playground segment between Bliss and RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
Bliss took to Twitter this afternoon and dismissed the report.
Multiple fans in attendance have also dismissed the report, while Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live today that the number of fans who walked out was closer to 700. Bliss and multiple fans in attendance insist that this did not happen. So really they should stop trying to lie, especially when they keep getting caught in their lies every time they try it.
Want another example of when a wrestler put Meltzer in his place? You know I have em. So here you go.
Here's where Asuka put Meltzer on blast and 'checked' him.
https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2021/08/meltzer-gets-checked-by-asuka-on-fake.html
Then there's Jim Cornette and Brian Last putting Dave in his place, right here.
https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2021/02/dave-meltzer-gets-owned-and-checked-by.html
Yet ANOTHER example of Dave getting 'checked' like a mother fucker.
https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/search?q=Meltzer+gets+checked
Then of course is all the times I put the dumb ass in his place as well, right here.
https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2021/06/dave-meltzer-almost-posted-link.html
So Meltzer, do yourself a favor, stop lying. There's a concept for you.
You obviously don't have the talent for it and you CERTAINLY, aren't very good at it.

Tommy Dreamer Is Suspended From Another Job Because He Ran His Mouth On "Dark Side of the Ring"
Now you know Tommy, that keeping your big mouth shut for now on, just might be a good thing when it comes to you.
On today’s episode of Busted Open Radio, host Dave LaGreca commented on the statements made by Tommy Dreamer on the most recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring, regarding Ric Flair’s conduct on the Plane Ride from Hell. LaGreca did not hold back on criticizing Dreamer, one of three co-hosts of Busted Open Radio, saying his remarks wouldn’t be tolerated.
“I felt that I needed to start off today’s show to talk about a few different things,” LaGreca said. “I’m still, quite frankly, shocked by what Tommy said. I think that was definitely out of character of the Tommy that I know, who has been hosting this show for a few years now. And I can’t and will not defend the comments because they’re indefensible. Quite frankly the things Tommy said, Tommy f****d up. Tommy f****d up on Thursday. And what he says is insensitive and it won’t be tolerated.
“A lot of people say ‘well in 2021 you can’t say this.’ It doesn’t matter if it’s 2021, 1998, 1985, it doesn’t matter. As a father, as a husband, knowing my daughter now has just turned eighteen and she’s about to go out into the world, is going to start college soon and is now working. These are things that I worry about for my own family. And people have had to worry about this for year, and there’s just no f*****g place for it. There really isn’t. There’s no place for this type of thought process, these types of comments, these types of actions. And I’m not throwing this all on Tommy. Tommy made some insensitive remarks on Thursday. And as I said, they’re not going to be tolerated.”
LaGreca also addressed Dreamer’s future with Busted Open Radio. While he stopped short of firing Dreamer, he did declare Dreamer would be pulled from the show until further notice.
“A lot of people have been looking to us now and what we’re going to be doing about Tommy and Tommy’s future,” LaGreca said. “As far as Tommy’s future on Busted Open, for the time being, he’s off the show. How long, I don’t know. I don’t know how long Tommy’s going to be off the show. I think he needs to take some time, I think he needs some time to reflect and understand how his comments hurt, how his attitude hurt. And I don’t know if you can put a timetable for that. So if you’re looking for that, I don’t have an answer. But for the time being, Tommy’s going to be off of Busted Open.”
Dreamer being pulled from Busted Open comes days after he was suspended indefinitely by Impact Wrestling for his comments. Dreamer, who works for Impact as a member of creative and as an agent, issued a statement on Sunday, apologizing for his remarks.
Yeah apologized because you realized you never should've opened it to begin with. Hope it was worth it Tommyboy, hope it all, was worth it.

PWInsider "Alleges" Tommy Dreamer 'Issued' A Statement To THEM Exclusively- But YET There's THIS..
As you can see in the above screen shot, Mike Johnson of PWInsider tried to make it 'appear', that Tommy Dreamer's statement was just issued to "PWInsider".
WELL if that's the case "Mikeypoo" then how do you explain, THIS?
The EXACT same statement you 'allege' was 'issued' to you, is ALL OVER social media thanks to Dreamer putting that same statement on Twitter.
BOOM, looks like 'someone' just got busted for lying.
Nice try Mike Johnson, you should've known better nthan to try and make something like that 'exclusive' when it really isn't.
So you can thank the people here at WP&P. for telling the truth, sin ce it's obvious Mike Johnson apparently want to.
By all means, please show Mikey how he just got 'checked'. And how easy it was for that to happen.
NOW let's see if he'll go retract it, or if he'll be like Meltzer and his staff who think correcting themselves when they get busted is something that's "beneath them".
Again, nice try Mikey, nice try, LOL. But BOY is this an epic fail on your part, dumb ass.
NEW TRIAL DATE SET IN RANDY ORTON TATTOOS-WWE 2K VIDEO GAME LAWSUIT
The U.S. District Court Southern District of Illinois (East St. Louis) has set a new date for the trial in the lawsuit brought by tattoo artist Catherine Alexander against World Wrestling Entertainment, Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., 2K Games, Inc., 2K Sports, Inc., Visual Concepts Entertainment, Yuke’s Co., Ltd. and Yuke’s LA Inc will be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The trial was slated to begin on 9/20 and is now reset for 1/31/22.
As it's been covered by many over the last several years, the lawsuit, initially filed in April 2018, alleges that all of Alexander's tattoo work on WWE star Randy Orton are her original designs that she owns and that she has never given any of the defendants permission to recreate them in the WWE videogames, therefore they and other defendants have infringed on her copyrights.
In the suit, Anderson stated that she performed the tattoo work on Orton between 2003 and 2008 and that "are easily recognized by his fans and members of the public." She also noted that, in advance of the lawsuit obviously, she "submitted applications to register copyrights on each of the aforementioned works on March 15, 2018." She also alleged that she has previously contacted WWE regarding material featuring Orton's tattoos being sold by the company in 2009 and at that time, they offered her a $450 fee for the rights to the designs. Alexander claimed she turned that offer down and at the time, "told WWE that Plaintiff did not grant any permission to WWE to copy, duplicate or otherwise use or reproduce any of Plaintiff’s designs."
Alexander has alleged that by recreating the tattoos in the WWE videogames, the rights to her designs are being infringed upon. She also alleges in the lawsuit that "Mr. Orton does not have ownership in the copyrights asserted herein and has no authority to and did not grant permission for Defendants to commit the acts complained of in this Complaint." Orton has not been named as a defendant in the lawsuit and has never commented publicly on the situation.
In a ruling issued on 9/26/20, Judge Staci M. Yandle ruled that WWE and Take-Two had indeed copied five tattoos that were Alexander's original work that were tattooed on Orton and that she holds valid trademarks on. Judge Yandle did deny Alexander's request for a summary judgment (which would have been a knockout blow for her legally, setting up definite damages) citing that some of the tribal tattoos Orton has inked would not allow for a judgment, sending it on for a jury to decide. It also noted that while there is no question that WWE copied Alexander's works, they have laid out three potential defenses that the jury can decide for itself whether to agree with or not.
With the Judge siding with Alexander, there are several issues that a jury will decide, including whether Orton was automatically granted an implied license to have his tattoos recreated via WWE's licensed products, if they would be considered copyright infringement if Orton did not have that license, whether the tattoos would fall under "fair use" (brief excerpts of copyright material may, under certain circumstances, be quoted verbatim for purposes such as criticism, news reporting, teaching, and research, without the need for permission from or payment to the copyright holder), whether the tattoos are de minmis (too trivial or minor to merit consideration legally) and whether there would be damages due to Alexander.
There are a lot of eyes on the case given that scores of videogames that feature professional athletes recreate their tattoos in the games, and this case could set a legal precedent for other tattoo artists to follow.
The case has been pushed back numerous times before. Originally, it was pushed back as the original presiding Judge retired from the bench, requiring Judge Yandle to take over the proceedings. The trial was then pushed back again to June 2020 at the request of 2K and several other plaintiffs then again to February of this year and will was to finally take place this January.
TOMMY DREAMER STATEMENT ON 'DARK SIDE OF THE RING'
Tommy Dreamer issued the following statement to this afternoon:
"Regarding my comments made on Dark Side of the Ring
It was never my intention to offend, hurt or victim shame anyone
I understand my comments were insensitive and could trigger emotions in someone's own personal past.
I do not condone sexual misconduct of any kind.
I apologize to anyone I offended.
From the bottom of my heart
I am so sorry."
During the Dark Side of the Ring episode, Dreamer defended Ric Flair, who was accused by flight attendant Heidi Doyle of exposing himself and forcing her to touch his genitals. Flair has denied these claims.
Dreamer said that Flair is "not going to impose, by force, any sexual stuff onto anybody. He's just flaunting...stylin' and profilin'...like the Ric Flair stuff where everybody's going to laugh about it. Obviously, somebody took offense to it."
“It's a joke,” he later added. “It's a gag. Today? 1000% inappropriate. I have hung out with Ric Flair and have never seen him force his will against anybody.”
Regarding the WWE settlement with Doyle following the incident, Dreamer said "If that’s how she felt, maybe she should have not taken a payout and went to the fullest extent of the law to put this heinous person in jail. My opinion."
Impact Wrestling suspended Dreamer on Friday, saying “We are aware of Mr. Laughlin’s (Tommy Dreamer) comments on “Dark Side of the Ring”. The views expressed by him in the interview are completely unacceptable. We can confirm Mr. Laughlin was suspended this morning with immediate effect, pending further action.”
And now the fans of ECW who used to chant "you fucked up, you fucked up, you fucked up" should now chant that at Dreamer wherever he appears next.

Spotlight On The Prentice Wrestling Network Along With Info On Upcoming Bert Prentice Memorial Show In Jackson, Tn.
In the wake of the death of famed manager and promoter Bert Prentice the Prentice Wrestling Network has been created. The late Bert Prentice had always lent his knowledge, experience and expertise to any young wrestler who was willing to listen, and learn.
Bert has worked with several young talents thru the years thru his various endeavors including NWA Nashville, Music City Wrestling, Ozark Mountain Wrestling, as well as up until his untimely passing away, USA Championship Wrestling based out of Jackson Tennessee.
I contacted Jason Prentice about this endeavor, which is one of the many things that is and will continue to be featured by us at Wrestling Past And Present to learn more about this venture.
Mr. Prentice took time out of his very busy schedule to send me the following about the PWN.
"The Prentice Wrestling Network aims to bring several promotions to the forefront of the attention of its audience. Talents from the Midwest, Midsouth, and all over the us will be featured as the Network honors the legacy of Bert Prentice. See footage from SICW in Illinois, RUGGEDPro in Iowa, PXW in the Midwest, Viral Pro, and USA Championship Wrestling in Tennessee! More promotions are set to join and if anyone or any companies are interested in getting your promotion on the network, they can message Jason Prentice for more details."
Speaking of the late Bert Prentice, there's going to be a memorial show in Jackson Tennessee where the majority of Bert's USA Championship Wrestling shows were held. ALL proceeds from this show will be helping to support Bert's medical and funeral expenses.
There's also another show coming Saturday Sept. 25th at the Dickson County fairgrounds featuring talent from Bert's USA Championship Wrestling as well as the Jacobs-Prichard Wrestling Academy (which is owned and operated by Glen Jacobs AKA Kane and Dr. Tom Prichard).
World Class Pro Wrestling Adds Kevin Sullivan As Booker W/Eric Embry
In a story the "other major wrestling sites" probably won't cover until they find out I did it first (which is usually the case in something like this) Kevin Sullivan who recently was booker for SWE Fury before being replaced by Teddy Long (The logic behind that decision is pretty fucking baffling in itself) will be added as booker alongside Eric Embry for World Class Pro Wrestling starting December 11th at their show in Irving Texas.
Here's the official announcement, made two hours ago.
"World Class Pro Wrestling has announced that legendary bookers Kevin Sullivan and Erich Embry will be booking for the company which relaunches after a 2 year pandemic break Oct 3 at the Cotillion in Wichita and Dec 11 at Southern Junction in Irving Texas".
Embry and Sullivan BOTH booking together? I bet THAT, will quite interesting.

UUUHH OOHHH- RIC FLAIR CAR SHIELD COMMERCIAL CAMPAIGN PAUSED FOLLOWING 'DARK SIDE OF THE RING' ALLEGATIONS
The fallout of last night's Dark Side of the Ring episode on "The Plane Ride from Hell" has continued, PWInsider.com has exclusively confirm.
The Car Shield commercial campaign featuring the WWE Hall of Famer as the star of a number off spots for the brand has been "paused."
A spokesperson for Intermedia, the advertising agency which handles Car Shield's commercials told Several Wrestling news outlets
"We take these matters very seriously. As of right now, we are pausing the campaign and we will do our due diligence."
There is currently no timetable for the spots to return to the airwaves and that the commercial will soon disappear pending additional investigation and decisions.
In the documentary, a flight attendant on the 2002 WWE "Plane Ride from Hell" from London to the United States stated that Ric Flair, naked with the exception of his robe, cornered her in the galley of the plane, making unwanted advances towards her.
In the past, Flair has denied all allegations and as recently as several days ago, told Renee Young on her podcast, " God, I’ve heard about it too. Just when things are going good for me. Listen, you [Renee Paquette] put me on your podcast after. We’ll see how it plays out, because I was there and I don’t care whose name I gotta drop if the heat falls on me. I know who was where and what and who and what took place. I know the whole story."

More WWE Stupidity As Announcers Reportedly Not Allowed To Acknowledge Bron Breakker As Rick Steiner’s Son
Just like they've done with other second generation wrestlers the WWE stupidity has struck again in the name of dumb asses with this.
Breakker is the son of Rick Steiner and nephew of Scott Steiner. However, he was not acknowledged as a second-generation superstar nor were Rick and Scott ever named.
It's been reported and noted that the announcers were not allowed to say Rick Steiner’s name. Vic Joseph, however, did get in the line “Dog Faced Gremlin” as a reference to Rick Steiner.
If that isn't one of the DUMBEST things ever, seriously.
Instead of improving their shows or having their creatively challenged creative department actually 'create' something fans wanna actually watch, they do this kind of dumb shit instead.
It was noticeable that Brooks Jensen, the song of Bull Buchanan, was refereed to a second-generation star, though Bull Buchanan was also not referred to by name. Jensen made his debut tagging with Josh Briggs.
Gotta love the WWE and the dumb shit they keep on doing.
Jury Trial Set For Buff Bagwell
Former WCW and WWE star Marcus “Buff” Bagwell says WWE has denied his request for rehab. (Yeah, OOOOKK)
Back in May how Bagwell was arrested where he lives in Cobb County, Georgia after leaving the scene of an accident he was involved in. He was facing numerous charges, on top of charges he was facing from an August 2020 accident that he had an arrest warrant out for at the time of the May incident. You can click here for the report on Bagwell’s May arrest, which includes his mugshot photo.
In an update on the criminal and traffic cases against Bagwell, Cobb County court records show that he is scheduled to face multiple charges for the August 2020 incident and the May 2021 incident on Thursday, November 18 at 9am. Bagwell is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Carl W. Bowers for a jury trial.
The jury trial will see Bagwell face the following charges that day, according to court records – from the May 2021 arrest: Giving False Name/DOB/Address, Open Container, Hit & Run/Duty of Driver, Following Too Closely, No License on Person. From the August 2020 arrest: DUI Marijuana/Controlled Substance, DUI Drugs/Any Combination 1-3 Less Safe, DUI Drugs Misdemeanor, DUI Drugs Misdemeanor, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Following Too Closely, Hit & Run/Duty of Driver, Failure to Yield Right of Way Intersection, Hit & Run/Duty of Driver, Strike Fixed Object, Driving Wrong Side of Road, Crossing Gore Area/Drive In Emergency Lane.
In more news on Bagwell, the veteran pro wrestler recently launched his “Rebuilding Buff” podcast with co-host Michael Long. Buff’s new “Stars & Stripes” episode included a discussion where he said WWE has denied his request for rehab after he reached out for help.
Bagwell indicated that he had help from WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page in making the request, and that Page was shocked over WWE denying him. Bagwell also expressed interest in getting better so that he can potentially get work with AEW.
“You ready for this one? WWF [WWE] turned me down on going to rehab,” Bagwell said. “I want to put that in your head and let you run with that, and just think about Scott Hall going 4 and 5 times, that crazy, crazy, crazy ass girl, that Dustin Rhodes was married to, that went 5 and 6 times. Not to mention Road Dogg… you kidding me? You think he went once? They went every time they could, I ask once and they deny me. They deny me, bro. Here I am trying to get better, I’ve come to them, on what they want me to do, which is get better, and it’s not like I’m off the chain.
“I mean, I’m in shape, you can tell by my body. I’m in shape, I’m at the gym every day. I feel great and all that but still, you know, I could use something like that to get my life completely straight up, and a company like AEW could take me for real, you know? And that’s where Dallas is really behind this thing, is more like, look, he goes, ‘You’re a great guy, it’s just nobody thinks nothing’s wrong with you because you look great, you sound great, but you don’t act like it, you need help. You need help.’ And I said, ‘I agree, I agreed with you, I’m with you.’ But what do you do when the WWF, out of all of those drug addicts I just talked about, from Jake Roberts to Scott Hall, down the list. If they get mad about me saying they’re drug addicts, then they’re just idiots because we all were drug addicts, and if they’re willing to say that, then so be it. They can be proud enough to say that if they want to, but it’s not the truth. The truth is, they turned me down.”
Bagwell’s co-host pointed to how “Road Dogg” Brian James took shots at WWE every chance he could, but the company was still there for him.
“Three letters,” Bagwell responded, laughing when his co-host named Triple H. Bagwell added, “That’s my boy. That’s my boy, Triple H, baby.”
Bagwell continued, “I worshiped Road Dogg, we are great friends. We gotta call a spade a spade when it’s time to call a spade a spade, and calling a spade a spade is, he… you know, they have said no to me when they have said yes to major drug addicts.”
Bagwell’s host recalled how he’s worked on a podcast with Justin Credible in the past, and had to call a WWE employee who handles rehab for former talents, to get Credible set back up in rehab after finishing stints in jail. Bagwell’s host couldn’t recall the name of the man, but Bagwell chimed in and named Bob Killar of the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, a WWE consultant and addiction specalist who was/is one of the people running WWE’s rehab program for former talent. Bagwell’s co-host noted how WWE always helped Credible, no matter how many times he no-showed rehab. Bagwell continued and talked about how rehab would at least “get the doctors off” him, adding that “the chase” is tiresome and absolutely horrible.
“I want you to take this part of what I’ve told you and put it in your brain that is so smart, and I want you to play with this for a while, and think about it because it’s really unbelievable,” Bagwell continued. “A guy that came from WCW as one of the top talent guys, that did nothing wrong except didn’t do what they said was… they read the computer and believed it, and still would not give me the benefit of the doubt of, ‘Look, here I am, I’m willing to go in and make sure that everything’s fine,’ And if nothing else, man just to get the doctors off me. Just the chase, it’s tiresome, it’s horrible. It’s absolutely horrible, the chase. And they came back with, no. Dallas Page called me up and goes… because keep in mind, first he was like, ‘Hey bro, yo bro this and bro that, and bro this, and bro that,’ And all of a sudden he went, ‘I can’t believe they turned you down. I can’t believe it.’ They, hey… first time ever asking!”
Bagwell continued and recalled how he wrestled WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, who was then the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, at the July 2, 2001 RAW from Tacoma, Washington. That main event ended in a No Contest. Bagwell also wrestled Booker on the July 1 WWE live event from Spokane, and these were his only WWE appearances.
“I wrestled Booker T in the first match of The Invasion, with 25 stitches in my head,” Bagwell recalled.”They had to get a Sharpie and Sharpie in where they shaved my head before I did the match. So I’ve got 25 or 30, I can’t remember what it was, 25 or 30 staples in my head, and they lay out this thing where they’re going to beat Booker up, me join in, and then throw us both out the back, and we knew right there it was over, it’s just the fans didn’t.
“We knew right there that, wait a minute, why wouldn’t we wait until one week and put Booker T and Buff Bagwell as the main event in Atlanta, Georgia, and they didn’t wait, they shoved it down their throats in Tacoma, to make us look like trash, and it worked, and it worked. It made us look like we were the bad guys, and ‘Hey, we gave those guys a shot, hey it didn’t work out.’ So be it, it didn’t work out.”
There is no word on exactly when Bagwell asked for rehab, or if he used DDP to make the request, but we will keep you updated. It seems like this was a fairly recent request, according to Bagwell’s comments and posts on social media.
