Heaven And Hell -The Devil You Know Making Parts 1& 2 (it's a version of Black Sabbath w/dio singing)

I only came across this recently, like a few weeks ago and acouple of those songs are really awesome. "Follow The Tears" and "Neverwhere".

Heaven & Hell were an English-American heavy metal band active from 2006 to 2010. The band was a collaboration featuring Black Sabbath founder members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler along with former Black Sabbath members Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice.

More info on that band is here.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven_%26_Hell_(band)

Taking a break from the wrestling to feature this one of my fave Sabbath albums.

I'm a HUGE Ian Gillan fan, of old (and current Deep purple) His solo band Gillan and this album by Black Sabbath. I saw this tour when it came to Chicago. Met Gillan and the band at a autograph signing at a (Now Defunct) Rose Records store. I had a Gillan patch on my denim jacket and Ian noticed. Gave me a hell of a rush. The drummer for the tour Bev Bevan(of ELO) I got to meet again in 1994 when I saw ELO Part two at a place in Chicago and had a great chat about him drumming for this tour.

Here's a documentary on the Born Again album I just came across. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4TBeM4T2ag

Eli Drake on: getting buried by Dave Meltzer

Look at how cheap Impact Wrestling is with their world title.

Yes, that's an "Impact" Plate over what looks to be an obvious "GFW" title. Have things gotten so cheap and lazy there that they can't even have new titles created? Just do sloppy paste jobs over the ones they have?

I made a comment on this on the Impact Wrestling Youtube channel as you can see. How much you want to bet someone there deletes it because it speaks the truth, and the truth hurts too much?

Alittle more on Konnan named head writer for new Arolucha promotion (for whatever it's worth)

A new promotion called Arolucha, Inc. announced today that Charles "Konnan" Ashenoff has been named its head writer.

Arolucha is the promotion written about a few times in the Observer (and other places) that Aroluxe is backing, and is expected to be running a television pilot taping in December in Nashville.

Ashenoff, who is the booker for The Crash promotion based in Tijuana, as well as working for Impact, was a key in gathering the talent roster for Lucha Underground, and was expecting to be used as the head writer there, but that company instead went with Christopher DeJoseph, and Ashenoff was out of the promotion by its second season, shortly after brokering the deal to get Rey Mysterio Jr. into Lucha Underground.

Vince Russo's name has also been mentioned as far as creative with this promotion. The name has come up as an assistant writer but there is no confirmation of a deal in place at this point.

Aroluxe, headed by Jason Brown and former wrestlers Ron and Don Harris, had been doing production for TNA and had an ownership stake in the promotion, and at one point were close to taking over control of the company. They are no longer involved with Impact after controlling interest was purchased by Anthem Entertainment.

WWE Creative 'has nothing for him' excuse maybe? James Ellsworth released by WWE

After he was written off television last week, WWE announced that they've released James Ellsworth today.

The company's statement: "WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar James Ellsworth. WWE wishes Ellsworth the best in all of his future endeavors."

Ellsworth lost to Becky Lynch in a match that was billed as a "battle of the sexes" at last Tuesday's SmackDown tapings in Manchester, England. He was superkicked by Carmella after the match but continued to be featured on the rest of the tour stops, getting beaten down by the entire SmackDown women's division after their matches on the house shows.

Following a memorable cameo in a squash match against Braun Strowman last year, WWE started using Ellsworth on SmackDown and eventually signed him to a contract. He was first used as an underdog babyface and faced AJ Styles multiple times before turning heel and being paired with Carmella.

Ellsworth joins Emma, Darren Young, Summer Rae, NXT's Sawyer Fulton, Performance Center trainee Leo Gao, and former Tough Enough winner Josh Bredl as wrestlers WWE has released over the last few weeks.

Chris Jericho On Why WWE Turned Down Having NXT Talent On His Cruise, New WWE Lifelong Friends, More

Source: Killing The Town
Wrestling Inc. reader Pete Gerber passed along a podcast interview from last month with Chris Jericho on episode 52 of Killing The Town with Storm & Cyrus that we hadn't covered. Among other things, Jericho provided some interesting details to podcast co-hosts Lance T. Storm and Don 'Cyrus' Callis regarding WWE turning down his request to have NXT talent appear on his upcoming boat cruise, "Chris Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager At Sea."

On the subject of Chris Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager At Sea, Jericho said he got the idea from his band, Fozzy, playing The KISS Kruise.
"The idea [for the 'Jeri-cruise'] came from, so Fozzy was invited, and you'll know, I mean, everybody knows, but you'll understand just how big this is for me, Lance, when we got invited to play The KISS Kruise in 2015," Jericho said. "It was like, 'oh my gosh, KISS is inviting us to be one of the bands on the cruise!', which, of course, is based around KISS."

Jericho continued, "I was thinking about it and as soon as the boat docked [after The KISS Kruise], I remember I called my manager and I was like, 'I can do this - I can do a rock and wrestling cruise. It's a combination of what I'm known for. Nobody else on the planet can do this because that's kind of my reputation, being in a rock 'n' roll band and being in the [pro] wrestling business.'"

According to Jericho, the cruise took two years to put together. Jericho decided to bring in a pro wrestling promotion based on how quickly plans can change for individual talents.

"It took me two years to get it rolling because there [were] a lot of reasons why it can't work and [the cruise company] not understanding what wrestling fans are, how big wrestling can be," said Jericho. "And then, once I started thinking about that, 'who do I bring onboard the ship?' Do you know what I mean? 'Do I try to book a card, Don versus Lance and Chris versus Rey Mysterio? I don't know what the hell I'm going to do. Well, happens if you get hurt? What happens if you get signed by the WWE? What am I going to do?' Well, then I thought, 'maybe I'll bring a company onboard. That way, no matter what happens, the company exists, so if this guy's signed by the WWE or this guy gets hurt, I'll still have the company name on the bill and that's all I need."

Apparently, Jericho took the concept to WWE and Triple H because he wanted NXT talent wrestle on the cruise. As Jericho predicted, WWE passed on the idea, creating the opportunity for ROH and its Sea Of Honor tournament.

"Here's the thing. I did my due diligence," Jericho admitted. "Obviously, I was working for WWE at the time. I took it to Triple H. I wanted to see if NXT would do it and to see if they'd be interested in doing that. We had some conversations, and, basically, typically WWE, after three months of talking about it, I had a 35-minute conversation with three executives that I've never heard of before just to tell us that they're passing. And I was like, 'why didn't you just tell me in, like, three minutes, 'we're passing?'' I had to sit there for 35 minutes and hear all the reasons why: I mean, Vince doesn't like doing cruises; he saw somebody got food poisoning on the cruise once and now he's terrified that the whole crew ship was going to be poisoned. I was like, 'is he scared that we're going to hit an iceberg as well as we go to Mexico?'"

Jericho added, "and I knew that was going to happen because WWE doesn't play well with others and I understood that, but I wanted to do my due diligence, like I said, at least present them the opportunity. And the day they said, 'no,' I told Triple H, 'I'm still going to do this. This is happening either way.' And he said, 'yeah, sure. No problem.' I made the call to Ring Of Honor and signed them on later on that week."

Jericho described his cruise concept as an episode of Talk Is Jericho at sea.

"I was like, 'I want to make this ['GOAT on a Boat'] like an episode of my podcast where there's rock 'n' roll and there's [pro] wrestling and there's live podcasting and there [are] comedians and paranormal demonstrations and that sort of stuff and kind of make it a real Talk Is Jericho at sea. As a result of putting up this line up, it was challenging because I have to fund this whole thing, so it's like I have a certain budget and who do I go to, what can I do, who do I attract that's going to sell tickets on this? And, obviously, Ring Of Honor, when I signed them, I knew that was going to be the biggest thing because I got the wrestling thing locked in."

Jericho explained, "so my idea was to have a tournament of matches at sea, which they never had before. They've had those Bruise Cruises and Wrestle Vessels in the 90s. I was on one. It was pretty lame, just a bunch of guys kind of hanging around. There were a few signings, but it was pretty unorganized. This ['Cruise Of Jericho'] is nothing like that.

Additionally, during the interview, Jericho described his most recent run with WWE as his best and shared that he made some "lifelong friends" during his last run.

"I don't need [pro] wrestling. I still love it. I still enjoy it. I had the best year this year and in 2016. Those guys were such great guys. I made some lifelong friends with Gallows and Anderson, and Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe, and I mean, just the best guys and we had so much fun."

VIPER DISCUSSES ICW'S FEAR & LOATHING THIS SUNDAY AND MORE

Just watched her yesterday on the last WCPW (now Defiant Wrestling) "Loaded" show I posted here yesterday.

Interview carried out by Andrew Ross (Freetime Media)
After clocking up thousands of miles over the course of 2017, Viper (Kimberly Benson) is preparing for her homecoming at ICW’s Fear and Loathing.

It has been quite a year for the 26-year-old, who has already wowed crowds in Japan, excelled in WWE’s Mae Young Classic tournament and caught the eye during ITV’s World of Sport show, but she insists the year is far from finished.

At the Hydro she will compete in the UK's first triple threat Women's Steel Cage Match match, taking on Kay Lee Ray and Kasey with the Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) Women’s Championship on the line – a match in which she’ll encounter various challenges, from adjusting to the mammoth 15-foot structure, to surpassing her contributions at previous Fear and Loathing events in which she's played a huge part.

“The Hydro show is a huge deal, this is like a homecoming, I’ve done so much in the last couple of years, but it always comes back to ICW – that is always going to be my home and no matter how far I stray, I always want to take all the good I’ve found around the world and bring it back for the fans to see here,” she explained.

“It’s going to be amazing and I’m so honoured to be a part of this history making night, but to be perfectly straight with you, I am so terrified. I’ve done so many matches and so many stipulation matches, but this isn’t something you can prepare for – nobody has a 15-foot cage just sitting about, it’s going to be in at the deep end. I am very excited about it and I know that I’m in there with two of the best women perhaps not just in the UK, but the world – I’m more than confident we’re going to put on a spectacular show.

“I feel like every year we do such amazing things that there becomes that expectation and pressure as to what we’ll do this time. It is getting literally insane the things we are doing.

“ICW is at the forefront of wrestling, we are known worldwide. I don’t think it’s going to be long before every single country knows about us.

“I’m really proud to be part of that, we are forging a way for so many other girl and guy wrestlers – ICW is the small company that could and did. It is a lot bigger than it was before, but I still feel the pride that we are that underground and independent company – we are always very anti-establishment and against the man – the cheeky scamp of independent wrestling.”

This year Kimberly has had the opportunity to perform across the world – catching the attention of fans across the globe with her matches in Japan and in the WWE’s inaugural Mae Young Classic invitational where she wrestled as Piper Niven. She would win two matches before exiting at the quarter-final stage, but impressed throughout with her high paced, high flying and powerful style of wrestling.

Despite the acclaim following her WWE appearance, it was almost an opportunity that passed the first ever ICW Women’s Champion by. Following the success of her appearance on ITV’s World of Sport, she negotiated a deal that would give her the chance to perform to millions across the UK on terrestrial television.

Unfortunately progress on the series stalled and when the Mae Young Classic was announced it seemed that those who had signed to World of Sport, would not be able to perform for WWE – thankfully though a chance email proved fruitful and what initially appeared to be a career low for Kimberly instead brought the biggest opportunity of her career.

“So many rumours and Chinese Whispers go around in wrestling, I had heard about the Mae Young Classic but I was actually in talks with ITV at the time about a World of Sport contract,” she explained.

“It kind of put me in an impasse as to what to do, I had an offer from something which was actually happening, while all I had heard about the WWE thing was rumours – I wasn’t really sure what was going on. I thought I couldn’t really say no to something that was going on right now, so went ahead with the World of Sport deal.

“We did the special, which was very well received, and then I reckon that everyone who had went with World of Sport felt like they had made their beds with WWE – it was quite clear it would have to be one or the other and we made our peace with that.

“When the series fell through we were all absolutely devastated, I had heard about the names that were taking part in the Classic and when I knew it was happening I was so gutted – it was the lowest part of my career, I thought I’d missed two boats – I feel no shame in saying when I heard the news that World of Sport wasn’t taking place I cried my eyes out.

“One of my friends who is also in wrestling told me to send an email and see what happens. That’s what I did, I asked them if they were still looking and thankfully they were, and it turned out for the best. I think you could say a new universe were able to set eyes on me. It has certainly opened up a lot of doors.”

The travel involved for Benson during the year has broadened her horizons. Often travelling with her best friend Kay Lee Ray, she’s loving the opportunities to see the world, but believes that travel is something quite often underestimated.

“The travelling is something I think people don’t quite understand and I get why they don’t. I feel like it takes a certain type of wrestler to be put in the situation that me and quite a lot of others are in now. People think that as wrestlers we work our Friday show, Saturday show and then the Sunday show – it’s not that at all,” Kimberley insisted.

“Depending on where I am working I can leave the house Thursday and not return until next Tuesday and that’s if I’m in the UK, never mind Japan or America. There’s a lot of work goes into being a pro wrestler, but don’t get me wrong I’m thankful for that. The positive side of the travel is that it’s where you get some of your best memories, travelling with your friends.

“It’s the best thing in the world, to do what you love most in the world with one of the people you love the most is amazing. We get to explore all these new places and have all these adventures – doing it with your best mate – there’s nothing better.”

As we move towards 2018, many of us will begin to set our targets for the coming year. With the ever changing and exciting landscape of professional wrestling, this is something Viper believes is near impossible, but her excitement is evident.

“I get asked a lot about what I see for myself in the next year and I can’t really answer that any more. I could never have guessed all the things that have happened this year,” she surmised.

“The thing with wrestling just now is that anything can happen right now – it’s so amazing to be part of it all. My current focus is on the next show – the Hydro.”

Looking ahead to a loaded card at the UK’s biggest wrestling event, Kimberly admitted picking the match she was looking forward to most out with her own was a difficult choice.

“I can’t take anything away from any match on the card, but I will be paying particularly close attention to the ‘King of Insanity’ match – I’ll probably be watching that through the spaces in my fingers mind you,” she laughed.

“The champion versus champion is another that’s really exciting as is the Kings of Catch against the Kinky Party – this is a night not to be missed.”

KONNAN NAMED HEAD WRITER OF NEW PROMOTION BEING LAUNCHED BY FORMER TNA MINORITY OWNER

A press release was issued today, announcing that current Impact Wrestling personality Konnan will head the creative team for a new pro wrestling promotion, Aro Lucha, that is being launched by former TNA production company and minority owner Aroluxe.

The promotion is expected to begin running next year with TV tapings in the Nashville, TN area, where Aroluxe is headquartered.  Aroluxe had been funding Impact tapings in exchange for a percentage of ownership in the company and as many wrestling news sites reported in 2016, the company was in a position to claim ownership over Impact had Dixie Carter not maintained regular payments reimbursing Aroluxe.

As it turned out, Anthem Media would come in as an investor and eventually purchase Impact from Carter's company Impact Ventures LLC.  That left Aroluxe out in the cold as they were not retained as Impact's production company.

The Twitter account for Aro Lucha promises, "High-energy Lucha Libre for the entire Authentic family.  Authentic stars, characters & stories. Live events & digital content. Lucha for the fans by the fans."

What this means for Konnan's status with Impact Wrestling, where he manages LAX, remains to be seen.

The official release reads:

ARO LUCHA Announces Carlos “Konnan” Ashenoff as Head Writer
