Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman Gives His Thoughts On The Sami Callihan/ Eddie Edwards Incident

Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman Gives His Thoughts On The Sami Callihan/ Eddie Edwards Incident:

I’m a big Sami Callihan fan… Obviously, it was an accident. And Jim Cornette chimed in and that’s what Jim does now. He chimes in on stuff like that and runs with it. So, Sami fires back on Twitter and you know it doesn’t’ come off good for him, but Sami is a really good dude. For the damage that it caused, it really didn’t look that great at all. You could barely see it (The Bat) hit him (Eddie), it was so fast. It was an accident.

THE NWA IS FIRMLY IN BILLY CORGAN'S HANDS (Like there'd be any doubt?)

The National Wrestling Alliance trademark was officially registered to Lightning One Inc., the company Billy Corgan owns that is handling everything related to the NWA since Corgan purchased it last year.

Since taking over the NWA, Corgan and NWA Vice President Dave Lagana have set out with building an audience for the brand and returning some credibility to the NWA championship with their Ten Pounds of Gold YouTube series, which has featured current champion Nick Aldis, former champion Tim Storm, Austin Idol, and Josephus, among others, meshing the history of the championship and strong characterizations while building to in-ring action.

The current storyline features Aldis going on a "crusade", defending the belt 20 times over the next 60 days.  He is slated to defend against Tommy Dreamer at the 3/24 House of Hardcore event in Philadelphia.

As previously reported, Lightning One has also filed a copyright on The Dumont Network, the entity that once rivaled ABC and CBS as a national broadcast network and was the first channel to broadcast professional wrestling.  It stands to reason that will be used at some point to distribute the NWA online.

Impact Wrestling stuff.

Impact Wrestling will announce matches and talent for their 4/6 Wrestlecon event, which has a Lucha Underground vs. Impact theme.

The Impact Wrestling TV taping dates in Orlando next month have changed as the promotion has dropped the last two TV taping dates and will instead tape on 6/1 and 6/2 in Windsor, Ontario.   Impact Wrestling will now tape TV at Universal Studios from Monday 4/23 through Wednesday 4/25.

The word making the rounds is that Konnan has put off his scheduled hip surgery because the recovery would cause him to miss the next set of Impact TVs.

The planned 7/15 date for Slammiversary will be moved as WWE has claimed that date for their Extreme Rules PPV.  Impact never officially announced the Slammiversary date publicly.  That event was tentatively set for Orlando as well.

Tammy Sytch update

In an update from what we have previously reported, Tammy Sytch's parole has not yet been officially revoked in the State of Pennsylvania.  According to Carbon County court officials this morning, a motion was made to revoke her February 2017 parole in August 2017 due to numerous violations of the terms of her release.

After the motion was filed with the Court, Judge Joseph Matika ordered Sytch arrested on a bench warrant so she could return before him and face sentencing.  Authorities were unable to locate Sytch (as she was now living outside of the State) until she was arrested in New Jersey, where she was flagged as a fugitive of justice.

Although sources had previously been told that Sytch would be extradited to Pennsylvania before facing her new charges in New Jersey, Carbon County Court officials stated this morning that she would remain in New Jersey and when her court cases in the Garden State are resolved, she would then be handed off to Pennsylvania authorities to face Judge Matika.

Sytch remains incarcerated in Monmouth County Correctional Facility in New Jersey.
