Mat Memory- WFWA late September/early October 1986 show

The WFWA shows continue with an episode dated somewhere in the late September/early October timeframe, as the promos push a Winnipeg Arena card for 10/22/86. The promotion was still working closely with Eddie Sharkey's Pro Wrestling America, as many PWA names like the Russian Krusher, Red Tyler, and Derrick Dukes, are featured here. Tony Condello was still pushing Bruiser Brody-Bulldog Bob Brown as the top feud, though I'm not sure if the 2 worked on the 09/24/86 or 10/22/86 Winnipeg Arena cards. Unfortunately, George Schire is absent from commentary here (though George's interview with Bob Brown is repeated here). Mick Karch and Ted Stevens provide the call of the action, with interviews handled by an unnamed jabroni who's just as cheesy at Ted Stevens. This show was taped at the Winnipeg Friendship Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Mat Memory- The Power Twins vs Scott Putski & Tony Atlas (December 28, 1988) (Savoldi's ICW)

Tony Atlas' heel run for the ICW/IWCCW has been much discussed, but how many viewers out there saw the match that led to Tony's heel turn? Wonder no more, as that's exactly what you'll see here! The Duke reigned as the lead heel manager of the ICW from the end of 1987 to 1990, assembling a stable that included the likes of Hillbilly Mike, Moondog Spike, and the Power Twins. The Power Twins were comprised of brothers Larry & Davi Power, and were trained by Dr. D David Schultz. The Power Twins broke in around 1986 and worked dying territories and indies alike, including the ICW, Central States, Stampede, Memphis, and Herb Abrams' UWF, to name a few. Here we see the Power Twins face Tony Atlas & Scott Putski in a match taped at the Augusta Memorial Auditorium in Augusta, ME on 12/28/88. Commentary is provided by the awful trio of Mario Savoldi, Bob Dow, & guest Ivan Putski. Following the match is a hilariously bad segment with a dorky, emotional black hole named Steve Tabb (who apparently hosted a segment on ICW TV, although this is the only footage I've seen of him), who attempts to get an interview with the freshly-turned Tony Atlas. Atlas rightfully dismisses the putz and cuts his first heel promo. Such a shame Tony's in-ring work was so pitiful as heel, because his heel interviews were gold. This is from a reairing in 1990 during the ICW's 5th anniversary marathon of flashback shows. The end of the show with Tony Rumble is included.
