EC3 On Impact Wrestling Talent Departures, Rockstar Spud Leaving, How Impact Can Re-Cement Itself

Source: The Mirror
EC3 was recently interviewed by The Mirror in the U.K. Below are some highlights:

Impact, as many fans will know, has undergone so many changes over the past year that at times it's been a bit bewildering trying to keep up...
"Try working here."
Those changes have included a lot of talent departures, including your good friend Rockstar Spud, from Birmingham, England.
"Oh my mate, my mate Spud has departed! He has and he is one of the most talented people I have been around and one of the biggest students of the game in this industry. Despite the hell I have put him through and what we have done to each other, I can hearken back to the good old days and what we once were, and I know deep down, in the in the cockles of my heart, that little b*****d will be just fine.

I don't blame you! There have been other people who have been a big part of Impact over the last few years leaving the company - Low Ki, Robbie E, Spud, Taryn Terrell and even referee Earl Hebner. What do you think Impact needs to look to do now, to re-cement itself?
"I think people over complicate changes in the business. People come, people go, no matter where a talent is, we're all gears in a machine in a way, so things do change and just because they do change, it doesn't mean they are changing in a negative for either the talent or the company. This place is wide open and opportunities are aplenty for people to get an opportunity, to step up and challenge for top spots, people - pun intended - to make an Impact.

"So the platform is there for them to do that. I wouldn't have had an opportunity if I hadn't have come over and made that impact as well, to get that different opportunity and change where I was and who I am. Change is good. Change is not the worse thing ever, change is not the writing on the wall or negativity, change is necessary for growth and that comes from both a talent and a company perspective."

How Much Money James Storm Making With Impact, Backstage Note On Impact Hall Of Fame Being Nixed

It's now confirmed that former World Heavyweight Champion James Storm is no longer working for Impact after they did a farewell segment at the November 9th Impact Wrestling TV tapings. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Storm was working under a guaranteed deal that paid him in the $150,000 to $200,000 range, which ran out. This is not considered to be a big number but the company can't afford numbers like these anymore.

Regarding there being no Hall of Fame ceremony at this year's Bound For Glory pay-per-view, once Jeff Jarrett left the company the idea was to induct either his father Jerry Jarrett or Mike Tenay. The Observer notes that Tenay "wasn't happening either way" and soon the idea for a ceremony was nixed. There were rumors of Storm going into the Hall but The Observer notes that he was never on the list of names being considered.

For whatever this is worth, JAMES ELLSWORTH NOW TAKING BOOKINGS

Former WWE star James Ellsworth announced the following:

Impact Wrestling News

Staffers at the Impact Wrestling Nashville office began to be let go yesterday, there were "support staff" let go as the company begins to fold Impact's offices into Anthem's existing infrastructure in Toronto.

As noted yesterday, Aro Lucha, the new promotion being launched by former Impact Wrestling minority owner Aroluxe named Konnan as the head writer for its potential series. Konnan actually informed Impact management prior to Bound for Glory weekend about the position and that as of now, he hopes to do both projects.  Konnan's top priority is obviously the health of the CRASH lucha libre promotion.  Working with Aroluxe and Impact at the same time allows for him to funnel CRASH talents into each company.

No new update on the Don Callis situation.

The continuation of Lucha Underground will not have a profound effect on their talents that are currently working for Impact.  LU intends to ease off on the contractual restrictions when they are not taping in order to let talents appear on other televised promotions.

Ethan Page, formerly with EVOLVE, will be coming in as Chandler Park, the storyline cousin of Joseph Park.

There's been talk of Impact being interested in using LU star Brian Cage of late.

Sonjay Dutt has been taking an increased role in all aspects of the management of the company.   One source noted they wouldn't be shocked to see him taking the lead in booking going forward.

I actually know acouple people assoiated with this. CSW RETURNS TO GROTON, CT

Constitution State Wrestling Returns To Groton, CT

After a successful December 2016 event, CSW brings the rough and tumble excitement of professional wrestling back to Grasso Tech High School on Saturday December 9, 2017 at 7pm.

Groton, CT; December 9, 2017

Constitution State Wrestling makes its long-awaited return to the Groton area, with an event featuring world-class wrestlers and high-flying action. Last year’s event drew a raucous crowd of four hundred fans to the gymnasium of Ella T. Grasso Tech High School with former WWE Superstars Tatanka and Gangrel, as well as a who’s who of area wrestling stars. The event on Saturday night, December 9th will be no different. The main event will feature a first-time-ever match-up as former WWE Superstar Adam Rose takes on Ring of Honor Wrestling star and Swansea, MA native “Brutal” Bob Evans. “I’ve known Adam Rose for a few years now,” Evans began. “I know he’s a family man. I know he’s a great entertainer and I know he’s a guy who kicked around for 17 years before he got his big break. As much as I respect him and admire him, it will be different when I get a hold of him on December 9th. He’s been contemplating retirement for a year now, so I may unfortunately have to decide that for him and retire him that night right there in Groton, CT.”

Constitution State Wrestling is the culmination of former professional wrestler Nat Peterson’s fandom of the world of professional wrestling. After going toe-to-toe with some of the biggest and toughest men in the Northeast, Peterson retired his spandex tights and knee-high leather boots for a suit and briefcase as the owner/promoter of his own wrestling promotion. Recognizing the strong naval presence in the Groton area, Constitution State Wrestling has previously offered special ticket pricing and admissions for local members of the military. The company also attempts to give back to the community, providing opportunities for fans to receive discounted tickets with donations to the local food pantry, as well as having allowed the student organizations of Ella T. Grasso Tech to use the event as a venue for their own fundraising.

“Independent wrestling doesn’t mean lesser quality wrestling; it just means a different kind of wrestling entertainment. The best part is the intimacy, fans are right up close and interact with the wrestlers,” continued Evans, “plus you never know if the guys you are watching in a local high school gymnasium today might be on national TV next year”. Fans in attendance on Saturday, December 9th will see a variety of matches, including a tag team attraction featuring the nearly 600lb team of the Heavy Hitters battling Connecticut residents Dave Cole and Randy Shawn, who celebrate their northern heritage as “The Canadian Superstars”. Fans of women’s wrestling will also not be disappointed as two ladies with international experience lock up. Both Luscious Latasha and her opponent Davienne have journeyed to Japan in pursuit of elite-level competition. In addition, four more matches have been signed for the event. Bell-time for this live event is 7:00PM. Tickets are $15.00 to sit ringside and $10.00 for general admission. Fans can receive $2.00 off the price of admission with the donation of a canned good, to be delivered to the Groton Food Pantry.

For more information of interview requests, please contact Nat Peterson: (860) 240-1988

###

Constitution State Wrestling is owned and operated by Nat Peterson, a Waterbury, CT resident. The wrestling promotion is committed to presenting family-friendly events at an affordable ticket price. Peterson lists wrestling legend Jim Cornette as an influence in his grass roots style of presenting pro wrestling, modeling the company much like the Southern wrestling companies of the 1980’s. With larger-than-life personalities and great in-ring action, Peterson promises that his events contain something for every kind of fan.
