MLW Anthology | Mance Warner

Matches:
•Loser Leaves MLW: Mance Warner vs. Sami Callihan
•No Ropes Barbed Wire Match: Mance Warner vs. Jimmy Havoc (with Priscilla Kelly)

This week MLW Anthology chronicles the tough as nails brawler Mance Warner.

Mance Warner is one of the most unorthodox southern wrestlers in the sport today.  Known for creating carnage in bars and in the ring, this Bucksnort brawler has a reputation for pummeling anyone that gets in his way.

Anthology will journey back to his debut inside the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia and then plunge into a wild battle of two friends pitted against each other in a loser leaves MLW clash as ol Mancer and Sami Callihan fight all over the arena in Milwaukee. The arena would literally never be the same after this vicious war.

Witness Mance Warner’s bloody battles with Jimmy Havoc culminating in the last tangle in Texas: a no ropes barbed wire bout as Jimmy Havoc has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide as he rumbles with Tennessee's toughest wrestler.

Kick back, pop open a light beer and see Mance Warner raise hell and throw some lariats as only ol Mancer can on this week’s MLW Anthology.

Britt Baker's Injuries Revealed, Brian Cage Debuts In AEW, New TNT Champion (And of Course A Person in 'Power' Happens To Win It)

Britt Baker's injuries were revealed at AEW Double or Nothing Saturday as were the dentist's intentions to appear on Dynamite Wednesday to address when she could return.

Baker did not appear on the pay-per-view, but AEW physician Michael Sampson did, revealing that she suffered a partial LCL tear, an interior tibia fracture, and a small tendon tear in a tag team match on last week's Dynamite. He then said she would be on Dynamite Wednesday to discuss the injuries.

The 29-year-old sustained the injury when Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida slammed Nyla Rose into her while she was seated in a ring corner. She immediately grabbed at her right knee and was out of the match shortly thereafter. 2020 has been rough injury wise on Baker as she also suffered a nose injury in a match with Shida in April.

Baker was scheduled to wrestle Statlander at Double or Nothing, but was replaced by Penelope Ford.

Brian Cage has arrived in AEW and is in line for a future shot at the promotion's World Championship.

Cage was accompanied by Taz and made his AEW debut as the ninth entrant in tonight's Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing. The finish of the match was Cage retrieving the poker chip that was hanging above the ring after a spot where he picked up a ladder with Darby Allin laying across it and threw it out of the ring.

As the winner of the Casino Ladder match, Cage will get a future shot at the AEW World Championship. Jon Moxley is defending the title against Brodie Lee at Double or Nothing later tonight.

A storyline leading into Double or Nothing was that Taz had been offering to help Allin, but Allin didn't want his advice. Taz cut a brief promo after Cage's win and said Cage will continue dropping bodies.

Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian, Kip Sabian, Allin, Orange Cassidy, Colt Cabana, Joey Janela, Luchasaurus, and Cage were the entrants in the Casino Ladder Match. It started with two wrestlers in the ring, then a new participant was added every two minutes until all nine were in.

Fenix was originally set for the Casino Ladder Match but was replaced by Janela due to injury.

It was reported by SoCalUncensored.com in January that Cage had agreed to a multi-year deal with AEW. But Cage posted an update on his injury and contract status later that month. Cage confirmed that he was no longer under contract with Impact Wrestling but said he would need to undergo surgery to repair a torn right biceps. Cage said that he wasn't technically with any promotion then.

Cody is the first-ever TNT Champion, (Gee, like nobody saw THAT coming) defeating Lance Archer tonight at Double or Nothing.

Towards the end of the match, Cody’s coach Arn Anderson was ejected to the back after a second referee came out and told the referee that Anderson had crotched Lance Archer on the top turnbuckle. After Anderson was ejected, Archer’s manager Jake Roberts brought out a snake.

However, the snake was never brought to the ring as Mike Tyson, who was set to present the TNT Championship to the winner, took off his shirt and stared down Roberts. As this was going on, Cody hit two Cross Rhodes to Archer and pinned him to win the title. Tyson then presented the title to Cody.

It was noted prior to the match that the AEW TNT Championship belt hasn’t been fully completed due to COVID-19.

Cody’s first championship defense will take place on June 3. The winner of a battle royal scheduled for Dynamite this Wednesday will be the first challenger.
