Freebirds vs. Butcher Vachon, Pete Doherty, Ron Shaw (MSG) Along With The Brisco's interview & match.( August 1984)

The Fabulous Freebirds (managed by David Wolff) vs. Butcher Vachon, Ron Shaw, and The Duke of Dorcester, Pete Doherty. 2 out of 3 falls. This match aired in August of 1984 on what was once WCW (GCW) after Vince McMahon bought the time-slot on WTBS that had long been the home to Georgia Championship Wrestling (and as World Championship Wrestling when its name changed in late 1982). This dark day in professional wrestling, July 14th, 1984, became known as Black Saturday. It was the first move in McMahon's desire to monopolize the wrestling industry, and control what programming and what wrestlers fans could see. After the match, Freddie Miller talks to the Brisco Brothers (who aided in the takeover) about the new line of wrestling. They then show a match of The Brisco's vs. Mike Starbuck and Pat Rose. WWF/WCW/GCW, August 1984.

WWE Wishes The Following The Best In Their Future Endeavors (Meaning They Had Nothing For Them)

WWE has come to their own terms on the releases of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett by firing them.

Santana Garrett, who was announced as being released today by WWE, was slated to debut for Friday Night Smackdown,

Garrett had been planned to move to the main roster, similar to the recently released Vanesse Bourne, but never actually debuted and had been waiting for her official debut to actually be worked into the storylines.

Instead, she was cut today.

Lana had also been with WWE since 2013. She just wrestled on this week’s RAW, teaming with Naomi for a loss to Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose.

Black signed with WWE in 2016. He was away from the storylines for 6 months but just returned in April with new vignettes after being re-packaged on SmackDown. His big TV return came on the May 21 SmackDown and it looked like he was about to feud with Big E. They were held off last week’s SmackDown but it was reported that this was a creative decision to allow for some time before they did the follow-up. Black leaves a one-time WWE NXT Champion, and the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winner with Ricochet. His wife Zelina Vega was released in late 2020 but was reportedly recently re-hired. There is no word yet on if WWE still plans to bring her back.

Riott also signed with WWE in 2016. She just competed on last Friday’s SmackDown, teaming with Liv Morgan for a loss to WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina Snuka.

Murphy signed with WWE in 2013 and leaves the company as a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion, a one-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, and a one-time RAW Tag Team Champion. He last competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April. Before that his last singles match was a DQ loss to Cesaro on the March 12 SmackDown.

Garrett originally began working with WWE in 2013 and officially signed a contract in 2019 after making various appearances over the years. She last competed in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match in January, and before that her last singles match was the loss to Mercedes Martinez at NXT’s Great American Bash Night 2 in July 2020.

Black had just returned to TV with teaser vignettes for a re-package back in late April, after being away for six months with no explanation. He attacked Big E in late May, apparently to begin a new feud for the two, but they were held off last Friday’s SmackDown with no follow-up to the angle from the week before.

Black signed with WWE in 2016. He leaves the company a one-time WWE NXT Champion, and the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winner with Ricochet.

There’s no word yet on if Black’s wife Zelina Vega will remain with the company. She was released in late 2020 after issues with the company, but recently brought back and there had been talk of WWE planning for her return to TV.

I guess the creatively challenged creative team couldn't creatively, create a plan for his return, Or any of the others that were released. so instead, they're probably hiding behind the "We have nothing for you" excuse.  Which translated means the creative team isn't all that "Creative" to begin with.

And how can they claim "Budget cuts" as the excuse when the WWE just made a huge wad of cash with their recent deal with the Peacock Network? HHMMM. Funny how nobody wants to see or talk about THAT, eh? Business must be good if Nick Khan can buy san eight million dollar mansion in Los Angeles.

Guess there's no "budget cuts" for him if he can go and buy that. But he can sure 'budget cut' and fire others.

WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors. (Yeah, sssuurree they do).
