On 5 October 1997, Brian Pillman was found not alive in a hotel, the day he was scheduled for the WWF’s pay-per-view, Badd . Pillman, who had found success as a small man in a big man’s sport pushed himself relentlessly in achieving success, sacrificing his body and arguably his soul in doing so. Consequently, did his relentless quest for success lead to his premature end? Some believe Pillman pushed himself so hard he set himself on an inevitable path to self-destruction while others believe he was killed by random fate thanks to a hereditary heart condition. Even now, controversy surrounds both Pillman’s career and the events surrounding it.
