Former WCW Star Says He Was Bullied In ECW Locker Room For Pursuing An Education (Yeah Ok)

He claims this but yet... Shane Douglas was well known for being a school teacher back then as well. So somehow "Crowbar" AKA Devon Storm (Chris Ford)'s claim doesn't seem to add up,

PLUS... I recall him when he was part of the WWF's Training Dojo, the dojo with Crowbar/Storm/ worked a weekend for WWA New England, an indy promotion I MYSELF was working for at the time behind the scenes (helping set up the ring, chairs, locally promoting their shows in New Hampshire, etc) and I had to go into the locker room many times during that weekend, passing messages to Matt Bloom(who started in New England as a graduate of Killer Kowalski's school and was in the process of getting his eventual WWF deal), Bruce Prichard, owners of WWA New England, among other things and i never once saw, Crowbar doing homework or studying. Just an observation based on the truth as i recall it from back then.

But hey, it's his story so let him fabricate it how he wants, right?

Veteran indie wrestler Crowbar was recently a guest on our WINCLY podcast. During his chat with Wrestling Inc. managing editor Nick Hausman, Crowbar explained the importance for independent wrestlers to have other sources of revenue.
A veteran of over 25 years, Crowbar is one of the few wrestlers to have wrestled matches in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA and ROH. He also has a degree in physical therapy, so he is prepared for life after he steps out of the ring. He revealed that he was bullied in the locker room for pursuing his degree, but he is proud that it never deterred him from getting it.
"If you want me to be frank really, I'm at the point where I don't care anymore. Most of those guys s**t on me for studying in the back of the locker room. People talked s**t when I was in ECW because I would bring my books and I would study. I would go do indie shows and I would be doing homework, and they mocked me. I don't wish ill upon them, I wish success on everyone, but I knew the business was finite, that it ends someday," Crowbar said. "For me it's not over, but it's not my way of life, it's not my career, it's not how I make money right now. But I can say 80-90 percent of guys gave me s**t for it, and I hold my head up high and I think I'm better off than 95 percent of them. And I'm not saying that to be snarky, but I took a lot of s**t for years, everyone looked down upon me trying to do both, and I'm in a much better place for it right now."
Crowbar was also asked about some of the differences he sees between current wrestlers and superstars of the past. He said he's happy to see much less prescription drug abuse among wrestlers, and to see an increase in wrestlers pursuing side jobs and educations. He said the greatest advice he can offer to young wrestlers is to find a way to prepare themselves for life after wrestling.
"You really see a lot less prescription drug abuse, which is great. The newer generation seemed to have learned from the guys from the past and all their downfalls. You see a lot less drug use, guys go out and they tear it up a whole lot less because wherever you go there's a cellphone with a camera. Guys used to do some stupid stuff and there was no accountability, now wherever you go there's a cellphone and a camera waiting to record you doing something stupid. But you do hear of a lot more guys that are doing online classes or they have a side job, and you have to," he said. "They'll ask me in the locker room, and I'm going back 10 years, 'Do you have any advice?' And I always say, 'What else are you doing besides this? Because there's gonna come a day when this is gone. If you want to support yourself or if you want to support a family on an indie wrestler's salary, it's not gonna happen.' You'll meet all kinds of guys on the indies that claim they're killing it and making all kinds of money. If you find me that guy that says he's killing it on indie wrestling, that he's bringing in all kinds of money, I'll look him in the face and say, 'You're a liar, because you are, because it doesn't happen.' It's a passion project, it's something you do to work up to the next level. But if you talk to anybody that says they're killing it on the indie circuit, they're lying to you."
Crowbar and Rescue Mania just concluded their most recent set of tapings for their upcoming YouTube series.

News On Chris Jericho And Kenny Omega Almost Signing With Impact Wrestling

Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega almost ended up signing with Impact Wrestling, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Impact Co-Executive Vice President Don Callis, who is good friends with Jericho, was reportedly very close to signing Jericho and Omega to contracts before All Elite Wrestling brought their offers to the table.
Jericho recently revealed that his AEW contract is the best deal of his pro wrestling career. Omega is expected to sign with AEW once his New Japan Pro Wrestling contract expires on January 31, however his signing has not been confirmed.
The Observer notes that before AEW was the plan, the idea was for Omega to keep working for NJPW and then do 30 dates per year for Impact. Jericho would have worked for Impact while working another year for NJPW since he would have had so much input on his creative plans. Jericho recently confirmed that he will continue to work with NJPW in the future.
As we previously reported, Jericho recently spoke about signing with AEW on his "Talk Is Jericho"podcast and discussed his talks with Impact. Jericho praised Callis and Scott D'Amore for what they've done with the company, adding that he really enjoys the product these days.
"I've gotta tell you guys, man, I've been really impressed with Impact over the last year," Jericho said. "I thought Don Callis and Scott D'Amore have really turned things around in that company, and I really, really enjoy it. And I thought long and hard about doing some shows there. I even had a meeting with Scott and Don in Toronto, and Ed Nordholm. The offer they made was a great offer. That's something that's funny when I hear all these companies are vying for the talent, for the free agents - WWE, AEW, Ring of Honor, New Japan, and someone mentioned MLW. Dude, what about Impact? They've got money. They were going to spend some money on Chris Jericho. We had some great matches planned. Jericho vs. Sami Callihan maybe, or with Johnny Impact, Brian Cage, Rich Swann. I'd love to work with Rich Swann. I did honestly talk to Impact and really, really thought about going there. And then Tony Khan came in with this offer, that's the biggest offer I've ever been offered in my career."

Dutt And Abyss Update With WWE.

Sonjay Dutt and Chris "Abyss" Parks are being hired by WWE in backstage roles, not as performers.  What their roles will be has not been confirmed, but as Triple H said on yesterday's media call, WWE is in the process of hiring people to help fill out the UK Performance Center and obviously will be looking for additional roles within the NXT system.  There's been a push of late to bring in some new Producers within WWE as well.   Impact had to release each of them in order to take the positions and internally, the feeling was that there was no positive to forcing them to stay.

Since PWInsider Doesn't Want To Tell The Truth On WWE's "Hidden Gems"? I'll Do It For Them

It's that time again I guess, to where PWInsider has to be fact checked and shown they're buffoons thanks to me. They make it so easy and actually, if Mike Jonson actually told the truth on this, I wouldn't be making him and PWInsider look so foolish with ease, again.

Here's a letter asking about how 'hidden' WWE'Ss Hidden Gems are? Someone who sees this site had asked me about this and why the other well known news sites are scared to expose this like I have, so I said “Why don't you ask them, write PWInsider, Meltzer, etc and see what they have to say about it”. So hence Johnson posting the following you'll see rriigghht, here.

As you see by Mike's answer, he sidesteps the fact that a lot of those, ahem 'hidden gems' are and have been on YouTube for years (in some cases). But here's what you can do, contact Mike Johnson at PWInsider and steer him to this link right here. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/search?q=hidden+gems and he, like you, can see story after story after story on how a lot of those gems are indeed, on YouTube.

The least I can do if Johnson doesn't want to tell you all the truth, is tell it for him. So by all means go ahead and tell him, I indeed did that for him. At least with me you'll get the truth out of me and for that? You're welcome.
