Eric Bischoff Shares His Thoughts On The Current WWE Product, WWE Celebrating 25 Years Of RAW
On Raw, WWE confirmed more names to be a part of the 25th Anniversary of Raw next Monday. One of those names is former WWE General Manager and WCW President Eric Bischoff. After heavily competing against Raw from 1995 to 2001, Bischoff shocked the WWE audience on July 15th, 2002. He filled this role for over three years, until he was fired by Vince McMahon and dumped into a garbage truck on RAW.
Bischoff has been away from WWE television since 2007, as he appeared on the 15th Anniversary of Raw. Over 10 years later, Bischoff will return as WWE airs inside both the Manhattan Center and the Barclays Center in New York.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Bischoff on the Pancakes and Powerslams Show to discuss a variety of topics. Specifically, his thoughts on the current WWE product.
"I think in general, incredibly impressed," said Bischoff. "Now, that's not to say that it necessarily suits my particular tastes 100 percent of the time, because that wouldn't be true. But, one of the things that I learned a long time ago, and I learned it directly from Ted Turner, by the way, one of the few things I remember him saying specifically to me outside of a couple other strategic business conversations, was that when you're in the business of programming content, and in this particular case, Ted was talking about how the way he programmed his networks at Turner Broadcasting, is you have to be careful not to program for yourself. You have to program for the masses.
"And as I think that relates to WWE, while I'm sure – I don't know this to be a fact, but I would venture to bet – that not everything we see in WWE necessarily suits the taste of Vince McMahon or Stephanie McMahon or Triple H 100 percent of the time. Because they're not programming for themselves, they're programming for the masses. And when you program for the masses and the broadest possible audience you can, sometimes you have to do things that [don't] necessarily suit your own particular taste."
Bischoff also shared his thoughts on Raw celebrating 25 years.
"So, while I'm super impressed with the WWE, because, for no other reason, they have been able to adapt and evolve to the taste of the audience, and maintain the powerful position. Not only in the United States, but on the USA Network, they're about to celebrate 25 years of being one of the leading programs in all of cable television. Anybody in television would covet the opportunity to be able to make that statement. But not only are they preparing to celebrate 25 years of dominance in cable television here in the United States, their content is seen in over 180 countries around the world. So how could anybody be anything other than impressed with what we see in WWE?"

Thursday's Impact Barbed Wire Massacre Match Officially Not Airing On POP TV.
It was originally reported that the Barbed Wire Massacre match with Impact Tag Team Champions The LAX vs. OVE & Sami Callihan would not air on Thursday's Impact Wrestling episode as it would air on Impact's new Twitch channel to kickoff the new partnership with the streaming site instead. Impact then advertised the match for Thursday's POP TV broadcast but they have now confirmed that the match will air exclusively on Twitch.
Impact is now billing the match as too violent for TV. They are asking fans to tune into the Twitch channel at the conclusion of Thursday's POP broadcast.
Below is the full announcement on the match, Twitter confirmation on the Twitch stream and the recent video promos that have footage from the match, which was previously taped:

Thursday Night Barbed Wire Massacre on Twitch
When the news broke last week on second episode of the new year of Impact Wrestling that oVe along with Sami Callihan would go against LAX along with Homicide in a Barbed Wire Massacre, it immediately blew up on social media.
So for the third time ever in Impact Wrestling history there will be a Barbed Wire Massacre however it will air after IMPACT on our brand new twitch channel!
How does one prepare for a Barbed Wire Massacre? How will it work? Will the athletes survive? These are just some of the questions that have been debated the past couple days.
To get a sense of what a Barbed Wire Massacre looks like, go onto YouTube and search Barbed Wire Massacre And you'll see the full match from Turning Point in 2005 between Abyss and Sabu. The crowd during that match definitely left the arena that night with a while knew respect for pro wrestlers, that's for sure.
But this is the kind of match that needed to be created. Especially with this current rivalry between LAX and oVe. These two teams have been battling each other since September. oVe which stands for Ohio versus Everything, won the Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Titles from LAX in October at Victory Road. But LAX was able to retain the titles two weeks ago to kick off the new year.
Of course, being from Ohio and the ones not to back down or give up, oVe won't let the battles end. The Crist boys from and Sami Callahan are out for blood. Ortiz and Santana are happy to oblige them for the third ever Barbed Wire Massacre!
The interesting thing about this Barbed Wire Massacre is there are so many variables at play in this match. It's not a one on one match. It's three against three. Both teams love to deliver devastating moves off the top rope. There will be no ropes as the ring will be surrounded by sharp barbed wire. Also, Callahan and Homicide, both men who have track records of not having a pain threshold and are ready to test the limits.
This match is going to exciting. You won't want to miss what happens when these two teams face off inside a ring surrounded by barbed wire. Tune In immediately following IMPACT on our brand new Twitch Channel!

Chris Jericho Reportedly Has No Deal With WWE For RAW 25 Despite Announcement
As noted, WWE announced on last night's RAW that Chris Jericho will be one of the special appearances for next Monday's RAW 25th Anniversary episode, which takes place from two locations in New York City - the Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
It's worth noting that WWE reportedly announced Jericho without there being a deal for the return. It was noted on today's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Jericho will likely appear next Monday but WWE did announce him prematurely. Dave Meltzer added that a deal could be signed today, if it hasn't been made already.
The talk of Jericho appearing at RAW 25 goes back several months. New Japan Pro Wrestling officials also knew that Jericho would be appearing at RAW 25 when they recently worked with him. Jericho is not signed to any kind of exclusive NJPW contract and he's not currently signed to a WWE deal

Update on recent talents who left Impact Wrestling (so much for that 'great' new way of paying people there)
The word backstage at Impact Wrestling's taping tonight is that Bobby Lashley
would be free and clear to sign anywhere he wants as of 2/1. So, that would take
him out of Royal Rumble speculation.
EC3 is said to be completely free and clear already.
Chelsea Green aka the former Laurel Van Ness, announced this evening that she was completely done with Impact, which had been expected for some time:
