Lance Storm Beginning As Impact Wrestling Producer, Talks Potential Of It Being Ongoing

Former WWE and WCW superstar, Lance Storm, was a guest on Figure Four Daily and he revealed to listeners that he will be starting as an agent/producer for Impact Wrestling later on this month.
Storm went in to details about the job, explaining that his first trial run as a producer will be occurring at the upcoming Impact TV tapings in Ontario, Canada. Although it is not permanent at this time, Storm is looking forward to putting his best foot forward in this new role.
"I'm going to be doing the agent/producer role for Impact Wrestling in the near future. The March 22 and 23 tapings in Windsor, Ontario, which I think are their next TV tapings," Storm said. "Yeah, it's only a couple of weeks away now...It is not a permanent position. It is a bit of a test to see if I like the job and if they like my ability to do the job, but, I will be in Windsor for the next Impact Wrestling tapings."
Storm mentioned how the light schedule of taping one weekend out of the month fits in to his current schedule nicely, and he looks forward to being close to his friends in Impact management. If things go well, Storm can see this position with Impact Wrestling being an ongoing thing.
"It's possible [for me] because they only tape two days a month and it's a Friday and a Sunday, so I would only have to adjust one day, per month, out of my SWA training schedule. So, it's doable, and obviously I get along extremely well with both Don Callis and Scott D'Amore. So, I've been watching the product religiously for the last month or so to be up to date, and I have my travel, so I assume it's official now. So, I will be going to work in that capacity and see if I can be helpful to the product. And if both sides like it, I will probably do it moving forward for a while."

Get A Load of This Shit, LOL- "Professional Wrestling" And "Belt" Among The Discouraged Terms At WrestleMania 36 Press Conference

Only in the WWE (rolls eyes).  Only there, do you see this kind of lame ass crap.

Earlier this week, WWE held a WrestleMania 36 press conference to announced its biggest show of the year would be headed to Tampa Bay, Florida. The event will take place at Raymond James Stadium on April 5, 2020.
To make sure local official were using the proper words for WWE's brand, a list of "WWE Do's and Don'ts" was given out before the press conference, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Some of the terms that were discouraged included "professional wrestlers," "Divas," "belt," and "World Wrestling Entertainment."
Below is the full list:
* When referring to our talent, we ask that you refer to them as WWE Superstars both for the men and women and NOT as "professional wrestlers."
* As of March 2016, our female Superstars are NO longer referred to as WWE Divas, so please call them WWE Superstars.
* Please refer to our company as WWE and NOT World Wrestling Entertainment.
* Please do not refer to our company as "the WWE," but rather just "WWE."
* Please do NOT use the term "professional wrestling," instead using WWE or Sports Entertainment to describe our brand (E.G. "We have many WWE fans in the Tampa area" or "I have always been a fan of sports entertainment.")
* The WWE Championship or WWE Title are appropriate names for the title. It is not called a "belt" or a "strap."

CORNETTE ON WHY VINCE MCMAHON BROUGHT BACK BRUCE PRICHARD

Jim Cornette stopped by The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling this week to promote his appearance and 35th Anniversary Celebration of The Midnight Express at The Two Man Power Trip’s TMPT Con 3 this coming May in Richmond, VA (tickets are available at this link: https://tmptcon3.brownpapertickets.com/).  In this excerpt from the interview, Cornette comments on Bruce Prichard's return to WWE in a creative capacity as well as all of the changes occurring backstage at WWE this close to WrestleMania.

WWE making creative changes this close to WrestleMania and Bruce Prichard’s return to the company:
"It was about twenty two years ago as a matter of fact and I was there when Vince got fed up and decided that he wanted to go with the only person that wasn't responsible for anything and that is how we got Vince Russo because he was mad. Here's the thing; he sends out in a lot of cases (and we used to joke about it) he sends out what he wants by mental telepathy and if you don't pick up on it it's your fault. I'm sure that he's been thinking, Vince McMahon didn't not hire Bruce Prichard back because he's the greatest booker since Bill Watts or Toots Mondt, Bruce Prichard is going to serve on the creative team because Vince McMahon knows that Bruce get it. He gets it and he can relay it to other people. What is “it”? “It” is what Vince McMahon likes and what Vince wants and I he is probably (and I can see Vince sitting there) saying that they just don't get it, these damn people and these kids they just don't get it."
"I guarantee you that Bruce Prichard will be able to articulate what Vince McMahon wants to these people probably better than Vince can because Vince sometimes sends it out by mental telepathy. But Bruce has been picking up on those signals for twenty-five years. So is Bruce going to come in and immediately re-write the television program and come up with the most interesting finishes since Eddie Graham, no. Bruce is going to be able to convey to everybody else what Vince wants."

Whether it is good or bad?
"I didn't comment on the quality or the quantity. I'm just saying that Bruce gets "it" and "it" is what Vince wants."

SHANE STRICKLAND UPDATE

At last night's DEFY Wrestling event, former MLW Champion Shane Strickland announced after his match that it was his last appearance for the company as he’s moving on to bigger and better things. He’s basically been the backbone of the company. The whole roster came out and surrounded the ring while the entire crowd sang Shane’s music as a send-off.

There have been rumblings for some time that WWE has been interested in Strickland (aka Killshot on Lucha Underground) and the belief was that Strickland would start this year in the WWE NXT system.   As previously noted, there was a delay for Strickland due to a contractual concern with his Lucha Underground deal.  Strickland worked for the El Rey Network promotion as Killshot.   Strickland is now free of those contractual issues.

Strickland has been a regular for Major League Wrestling since its relaunch.  MLW had been preparing for Strickland's departure for months and at one point, he was going to be written out of storylines following the MLW Wargames event over the summer of 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which is why the company booked him to be destroyed and carried out without being able to complete the match.  Instead, Strickland returned at the Chicago tapings, playing an angry role where he has come out against the product MLW is producing and the fans who are supporting it, like Bret Hart in WWF in the late 1990s.      He was then written out following a lose to Rush.
