Wrestler Says He Was “Terribly Mismanaged” By WWE (Like That's Anything New, Happens All The Time there)

WWE released 13 talents on Friday, August 6. The following wrestlers were released – Bronson Reed, Mercedes Martinez, Jake Atlas, Ari Sterling, Desmond Troy, Tyler Rust, Bobby Fish, Leon Ruff, Asher Hale, Zechariah Smith, Giant Zanjeer, Kona Reeves, and referee Stephon Smith. many of them become free agents as of this week.

While September 5 marked the end of the 30-day non-compete clauses, it’s interesting to note that some of the wrestlers announced that they were free agents on different dates. Hale became a free agent as of September 5, Ruff became a free agent as of September 8, and Reed became a free agent as of September 9, at least according to their own words.

Reed took to Twitter on Wednesday and took a shot at WWE while looking ahead to the future. The former NXT North American Champion said he was “terribly mismanaged” by the company.

“Tomorrow I become a free agent. I am confident in myself and my abilities. Although being terribly mismanaged by a company recently makes me nervous about having to find a new employer in 60 days. Thanks for all the support! I’m sure I’ll be back to kicking ass in no time!,” he wrote.

Reed clarified in a follow-up tweet, “People need to read properly. Notice the word ‘recently’ in my last tweet. SMH. Also I’m going to let y’all know a hell of a lot more soon because I like to be open with all my followers. Anyway the non hater, burner accounts THANK YOU, for your support. #JONAHISHERE”

Now that WWE isn't trying to hire indie wrestlers anymore, all those indie guys who are 'marks' for WWE won't have to worry about getting hired there and mismanaged, not pushed or presented correctly.

Besides, look where is Reed is today.

People In WWE Reportedly Not Happy With Mick Foley Comments (Ya Think? The Truth Has A Way Of Hurting)

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley reportedly had some heat within WWE over the comments he made about the company and AEW earlier this week.

If they don't like hearing the truth, then do something about it. There's a fucking concept for you.

Foley took to Facebook following the AEW All Out pay-per-view earlier and issued a “WWE – WE’VE GOT A PROBLEM” video. Foley talked about how WWE is no longer the company that talents aspire to make it to. His full comments can be found below.

In an update, it was noted by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast that there were some people in WWE who were not happy with Foley’s comments.

It was noted how there is an unspoken rule that WWE Legends are not to disparage the company, and apparently that’s how Foley’s comments were taken by some. Foley is currently signed to a “nostalgia contract” or a WWE Legends deal.

Well? Looks like that 'unspoken rule' has been broken, now what? Nothing because what can WWE really do to Foley? End the legends deal? "OOOOOO" How devastating is that? LOL.

Foley appeared on the Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast with WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman this week and commented on the video. Waltman’s co-host, and Wrestling Inc. managing editor Nick Hausman, asked Foley why he felt the need to release the video.

“The only deal I have with WWE is a Legends deal,” Foley said. “They do pay people to be consultants, and if I was being paid to be a consultant, I would say, ‘WWE, we’ve got a problem’. I’m just putting myself in the place of a top-tier Superstar who has a decision to make, and I would look at how AEW has treated their recent acquisitions and I would compare it to how WWE has treated a few of their recent, as in development, talents brought up to the main roster. And I would say, ‘I don’t know if I want to gamble to such an extent that I’m willing to have everything I’ve done watered down or made a joke of.’ If somebody is a more intriguing character in NXT than they are in WWE, and it seems almost by design, I think that’s a big, big problem.”

For those who missed it, Foley’s full comments can be seen below:

“Hello, this is ‘The Hardcore Legend’ Mick Foley. I’d like to title this video, ‘WWE – We’ve Got a Problem’ because I think you do and that problem is that WWE is no longer the place for talent to aspire to. Part of it is because AEW is doing a great job of attracting great talent, proven talent, building other talent, creating storylines, but part of it is a problem of your own making. I think younger talent sees the way that developmental characters are cut or left by the wayside, or in the case of Karrion Kross, greatly watered down and even made a joke of when they debut on the main roster. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. If I was an aspiring talent now, big league talent with a major decision to make, I’m not sure that I would trust WWE creative to do the right thing with my career. You guys did wonders with me back in the day… that was a different time, different place. If it was today, I’m not sure I would trust the powers to be with my career in their hands, and until that changes, WWE – you’ve got a problem.”

Here's where you can hear what Waltman and Foley had said about the video.

EC3 On Scrapped Plans For “Horsemen-esque” Stable In WWE

Former WWE superstar, EC3, spoke with Shakiel Mahjouri of Cageside Seats  about his time with WWE before being released in April 2020. During the conversation, EC3 disclosed that there were once plans for him to create a stable with Drake Maverick and FTR, formerly known as “The Revival” in WWE.

“There were ideas thrown around where we wanted to create some things before The Narrative was full tilt,” EC3 tells Cageside Seats. “There was an idea for a Horsemen-esque kind of thing we tossed around and played with, but the pandemic prevented one of our days to travel and shoot stuff. [FTR] went their way, I went my way, and Drake returned to WWE.

“What a good idea that was. I was kind of hesitant too. I was kind of hesitant because I don’t look that part anymore, and I’m doing this. But that would have been awesome. [FTR] is the best tag team in the world, and Drake is one of the greatest wrestling brains in the world. I’m all-around the best body, best mind, best personality, best looks, best facial hair. It would have been money. I think I would have wanted to call it: RICH.”

Now working with promotions like Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, EC3 hopes to continue expanding as a personality. He also admitted that a ROH – AEW collaboration may increase fan interest in Ring of Honor. However, he noted how something similar was just done with Impact Wrestling.

“We should play bold and do some things to bring attention to what is a very talented locker room and a very great product. It’s just getting the eyeballs on it. Obviously, a partnership with AEW does that in a sense, but at the same time, it’s just been done with Impact,” the former Impact Wrestling world champion said. “As opposed to rehashing the past and the nostalgia, which I always preach against, I don’t want to do something that’s already been done as much as doing something that’s never been done.

“Ring of Honor is sitting on a giant library of extremely crazy content I’m creating on my own called The Narrative, where I have Braun Strowman’s first non-WWE match,” EC3 added. “There’s buzz in that, I would think. We also have a pay-per-view coming up. We have Death Before Dishonor coming up in Philly at the 2300 Arena. I’m in the world title match. I’ll win, it’s cool. Maybe, as the champion, I will bring the brand the attention and notoriety it deserves.”

NAWA 8/8/92

Joey Styles commentates on this and features Tommy Dreamer, Tony Atlas and more.

I had this show on tape as it aired on Sportschannel Chicago, the show lasted a week before being replaced by Windy City Wrestling but what this show also had? Was a match that still is in my top ten of all time favorite matches. Hercules Hernandez vs "Godfather" Tony Capone. I told people about this match for years and many of them claimed I was full of shit, the match never happened and I couldn't prove it cause it wasn't on YouTube.

Until now.

Looks like 'someone' has FINALLY gotten the last laugh, as prove is.. A "you know what". (Smiles)
