Madison Rayne on why she signed with ROH, leaving her Impact Wrestling comfort zone

Madison Rayne spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News and explained why she signed a contract with Ring of Honor. “They believe in me and I believe in them,” Rayne said. “There’s life outside of wrestling and that’s always been a motivating factor for me. I’ve been able to live this dream, travel the world, but never be gone so much that I can’t fulfill all of my other dreams of being a mom and a wife and a personal trainer and going back to school. For me, it’s the better fit that allows me that freedom with my schedule. My hope in signing this contract with Ring of Honor is to write another successful chapter for myself, but also I hope in some small way, that I can help grow Women of Honor and make it what it could be and what it’s on track to being.”

Rayne also spoke about breaking out of the comfort zone that Impact Wrestling was for her. “It was uncomfortable in a good way,” Rayne said. “I had the tryout at the WWE Performance Center and that felt way different than anything I had ever done at Impact. I got back out on the indie scene a bit more. I was with Ring of Honor. I went back to Shimmer and all of those places felt good, but it was just different. Jeff Cobb On Why He Chose To Sign With Ring Of Honor

Jeff Cobb defeated Punishment Martinez in his first ever Ring of Honor match to win the ROHWorld Television Championship. Cobb, who represented Guam at the 2004 Summer Olympics initially competed for Lucha Underground and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, before signing up with Ring of Honor.

Cobb recently sat down with Ring of Honor for their ROH 10 Questions segment, where he talked about the best advice he received in his professional wrestling career.

"Drake Younger told me, 'The cream always rises to the top'", Cobb said. "I've held that close because of who he was and him wanting to help me."

Jeff also spoke about his favourite memory from the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, besides the actual competition.

"Seeing the walking circus of daily life in the village. Athletes from the largest, strongest people on the planet to the smallest, most ripped female gymnast I've ever seen, to sitting next to 7-foot-5 Yao Ming in the computer lab and the cafeteria."

Cobb chose to sign with ROH earlier this year, and the current ROH World TV Champion revealed why he decided to sign with the promotion.

"I've always seen ROH and the quality of wrestlers that have come through there. There is such a rich history of amazing performers and talent that can't be denied. Also, the relationship with New Japan didn't hurt either."

REY FENIX INJURY UPDATE AND MORE IMPACT WRESTLING NEWS

Rey Fenix, who has been out of action with a groin issue, will be ready to return to action shortly.

Impact will be taping TV in New York City in April as part of their Culture Clash event being promoted in conjunction with House of Glory.

While in Nashville earlier this week, Johnny Impact appeared locally on Channel 5, ESPN Radio and appeared on a number of I Heart Media shows.  Impact also filmed content inside the TNA Asylum for the 1/6/19 Homecoming PPV opening video.

Impact Wrestling will live stream an on their Twitch channel live from Dayton, Ohio tomorrow Friday 12/14.  Scheduled for “Ohio vs. Everything” will Eddie Edwards, Moose, Allie, The Rascals, OVE, Matt Sydal, Trevor Lee (in his final appearance for the company) and more.  The event is being held in conjunction with Rockstar Pro, the promotion run by Dave and Jake Crist of OVE.  Impact will announce a full lineup later today.

Tonight’s Impact will feature a continuation of the Jordynne Grace-Katarina storyline.

Impact’s next TV taping will be Monday 1/7/19 at the Asylum in Nashville.  They will then tape in Mexico on 1/11 and 1/12.  They will return to Sam’s Town in Vegas for tapings in February.
