Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy coming for Lawler & Austin Idol - August 1985
ANOTHER Staff member Gets Caught Stealing From PWInsider's "Elite" Paid Subscription Site AGAIN (And Wrestlinginc Paid Him For The Stolen Story)
Eric Mutter must've not gotten the memo that stealing from paywalls is a no no, or maybe Eric just can't help himself and feels he HAS to steal from paywall sites to make himself seem credible.
Sadly though, is Wrestlinginc PAID Eric for that stolen story, so that makes them as bad as Eric.
So much for trying to be a 'credible' wrestling news site, eh? A news site that has more staff members stealing stories from PWInsider's paywall (PAID SUBSCRIPTION) site than anyone else, doesn't make you look 'credible' in any way.
Here's how dumb Eric is (as well as the others who have been busted doing this, since they ALL do the same stupid thing).
Here's Eric's stolen story headline.
There is where he leaves a link to "PWInsider Elite" (Hint that he stole it from a paywall site). Click the link and it takes you here...
Where you have to log into... What? OOHHH the Elite Membership paywall site..
They al do the same dumb ass thing, tell you where they stole it and show you by providing the evidence themselves that they stole it. Joseph Currier (who was caught two days in a row), Rosanne Raphael and Ian Carey who work for WON/F4W, and Daisy Ruth (who's been caught doing this several times), Max Everett, Samantha Schipman, Julien D'Alessandro, Eric Mutter and Ella Jay ALL do the same stupid thing, show you that they stole it instead of actually getting their own stories on their own.
Fact is Wrestlinginc PAID Eric for this stolen story, they wouldn't have posted it if they didn't pay him, so Wrestlinginc pays their staff (in essence) to go steal stories from paywall sites and they'll pay those staff members for their stolen content.
That'spretty much how Wrestlinginc operates now. And they can't deny it because this site in the last week alone has provided way too many examples of how it IS true, and is INDEED, the case.
Dave Scherer and Mike Johnson were notified by me personally of this latest theft.
The question does remain, how long are they going to tolerate it, and how much longer is Wrestlinginc going to pay their staff for stories that were stolen from paywall sites?
Something tells me, NOBODY is going to have the balls, to answer those questions.

New Update (9-17-2026 9:45 am) On Writers of WON/F4W And Wrestlinginc Staff Stealing Stories From PWInsider's "Elite" Paid Subscription site (Including Email from PWInsider)
Scroll down and you'll see more of Dave Scherer's ducking and dodging this issue.
We here at Wrestling Past And Present have reported several instances of staff at both Dave Meltzer's WON/F4W and Wrestlinginc openly and blatantly (even providing evidence which shows how 'smart' they're not) stealing stories from PWInsider's "Elite" paid subscription section.
Here's the list of staff members who were busted doing this. Joseph Currier (who was caught two days in a row), Rosanne Raphael and Ian Carey who work for WON/F4W, and Daisy Ruth (who's been caught doing this several times), Max Everett, Samantha Schipman, Julien D'Alessandro, Eric Mutter and Ella jay who are staff at Wrestlinginc.
ALL of these people have been caught stealing some sort of content from the PWInsider "Elite" PAID SUBSCRIBER section, and posted them on the sites they work for, and got paid for it. Basically Meltzer and the powers that be at Wrestlinginc PAID these people for using material they openly stole from that Elite section.
I tried contacting Melzer and Wrestlinginc several times, even called them out on X/Twitter and no answer, comment or reply to these stories we did. Totally ignoring that they in fact paid their staff that posted stories they stole from somewhere else.
Even though I and PWInsider owner Dave Scherer have had our differences (which goes back when we were both involved with Evan Ginzburg's Wrestling Then And Now monthly (by mail only) newsletter back in the 90's, I contacted Scherer to explain to him he he had one serious problem, and actually asked him (and Mike Johnson, whose stories are the ones being stolen) are they really trying to do something about it?
While Mike Johnson never answered back, Dave Scherer, who often claims he "runs PWInsider like a business" did reply. Did he acknowledge there's an problem? Did he explain how bad the situation is and admit that whatever 'security measures' he has in place on his site simply aren't working? Did he even mention how or what measures they ARE taking to try and stop this from continuing?
Nope... Zero, zip and nada thing about his site or the problems with WON/F4W and Wrestlinginc stealing from it on an almost daily basis. Mr. "runs PWInsider like a business" totally deflected (which i kinda knew he was going to do as that's his m.o. when something makes him look bad, he deflects and tries to change the subject) from it and preferred to try and sling insults at me about things in my past that happened, FOURTEEN YEARS AGO.
That's what Mr. 'claims to have a degree in business' did. So when someone who writes for a site wants to get comments on a story, and contacts the person who 'could' and is 'capable' of giving an honest answer and assessment of the situation, Instead? Gives me this.
For someone who claims to run his site 'like a business' you see any professional 'businessman' representation there? Of course not because he really doesn't have that in him. But, TTHHIISSS is the face of PWInsider, and TTHHISSS is how he 'represents the business' he owns.
Nothing like totally ignoring and deflecting from what obviously a blind man can see.
If I ever see him or Mike Johnson whining, crying and bitching about content beibg stolen from them, I'm sure going to call em on it, because the impression I and some others have is, Scherer isn't really trying to do anything. OORR, he just doesn't want to do anything.
We here at WP&P will continue to report the stealing that sites like WON/F4W and Wrestlinginc do, so the more they steal, the more we'll expose them for the lazy fucks they are who can't get their own content like we here at WP&P do every single day. Nice to know they we're seemingly, the ONLY wrestling news site that doesn't have to steal from a paywall like the other so called 'major news sites' have been caught doing.
As for Mr. Scherer, I tried to have an honest serious conversation with him about this and you see what I got instead. Which I guess would him living up to what ism my absolute favorite quote from Scherer himself.
At least Mr. Scherer has doubled down and has insisted on living that quote, eh?
Update 9-17-2026 9:45am.
Here's the latest exchange between me and PWInsider owner Dave Scherer. As you'll see he continues to duck dodge and deflect from the issue. I guess having me run rings around him him an email conversation is wwaayy more important than actually trying to fix the issue of people stealing from his paid subscriber site.
Isn't it nice to see how he has priorities in order? (shakes head) but hey, he 'runs' PWInsider like a business don't you know. You sssuurree can tell by this convo, eh? (rolls eyes).
Road Warrior Hawk, Sabu, & Balls Mahoney v Kevin Sullivan, Devon Storm, & The Crusher (AWWL)
