No Selling And More As -CODY HAS HEARD ENOUGH OF JAKE ROBERTS AND IS READY TO DESTROY LANCE ARCHER | AEW DYNAMITE 5/13/20

You would think, that being around as long as he has Archer/Hoyt would already KNOW, how to sell. Or at the least.. Jake would advise pr encourage him on how to sell. Guess that's not the case.

Why bother showing someone how to properly sell when you're only there for a payday, right?

Road Warriors & Fabulous Ones - Why Our Match Turned into a Real Life Shoot Fight

Back in the mid 1980's for Verne Gagne's AWA Wrestling, two of the most talked about tag teams entered into a program. Road Warriors (Hawk, Animal) & Fabulous One (Steve Keirn, Stan Lane) fought one some of the biggest pro wrestling stages in the country. The Fabs had done to job for the Road Warriors each time they met in the ring but it came time for Hawk & Animal to return the favor, the duo decided to change the finish mid match!

Find out why the Road Warriors refused to do the job for the Fabulous Ones & the receipt that came later in Puerto Rico!

The Road Warriors interview was conducted in 2000 while the Fabulous Ones interview was 2017.

Road Warriors & Demolition - Why Our Feud in WWF Didn't Work

Vince McMahon has wanted the Road Warriors to join WWE (known as WWF at the time) since the mid 1980s when Animal & Hawk were destroying opponents in NWA Wrestling, AWA and Japan. The Road Warriors were the most dominant tag team in pro wrestling but they didn't arrive in WWF until 1990.

In the meantime, Vince McMahon created a new tag team in 1987 called Demolition. Fans quickly saw the similarities between the Road Warriors & Demolition but the team would only grow in popularity, becoming WWF Tag Team Champions. Ax & Smash (Bill Eadie, Barry Darsow) were on fire for years until McMahon finally signed the Road Warriors in 1990. Fans knew it was time they would finally see their dream match between the two most powerful tag teams of the 1980s. Unfortunately the series came off lackluster to many fans, leaving Demolition to disappear from WWF shortly after.

The Road Warriors interview was conducted in 2000 while the Demolition interview was 2005.

Demolition - When Crush Replaced Ax in WWF & Why it Hurt the Team

It was just before Wrestlemania VII and Vince McMahon needed to find a replacement for Ax! You see Ax (Bill Eadie) had a medical incident relating to a shellfish allergy, he would no longer be available for the biggest show on the WWF calendar.

Meanwhile, Brian Adams was already doing tryouts for WWF and was on the radar to be a future talent. Vince McMahon told Smash (Barry Darsow) that Brian Adams would be repacked as Crush and temporarily replace Ax. This led to several 6-man tag team matches showcasing Ax, Smash & Crush vs Road Warriors & Ultimate Warrior.

Demolition went from getting one of the biggest pops of Wrestlemania VI to working an essential throwaway match at Wrestlemania VII. Smash & Crush would continue to team through 1991 and also worked as singles. By 1992, the team was over and Smash was repacked as Repo Man. Crush went through a gimmick change and became a surfer looking dude from Hawaii. Ax left the WWF and continued wrestling on the independents.

This Demolition shoot interview was conducted in 2005.

Billy Corgan Reveals New NWA Show

NWA Owner Billy Corgan has announced a new series called NWA Carnyland.

Carnyland will premiere next Tuesday at 6:05pm ET on the NWA YouTube channel. This is the normal time slot for the weekly NWA Power series.

Corgan announced Carnyland during tonight's season 3 finale of Power, called Super Power. As seen in the video below, Corgan touted how the NWA has just passed 200,000 subscribers and they've worked hard to bring the promotion back into international prominence, with a great roster and team. Corgan added that under no circumstances do they want to fold the promotion, no matter how tough and difficult things get amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Instead of folding, they have come up with this new Carnyland show. Corgan said the NWA can't present pro wrestling in a right like they want to right now, due to the coronavirus pandemic having a negative impact on tapings, so they went back to an idea they had back when he first acquired the promotion. Corgan said he finds the Carnyland idea to be intriguing, and said it's unlike anything else in pro wrestling.

Corgan called on fans to take one more step with the NWA and trust them on this "crazy concept called Carnyland" as they have with the Power and 10 Pounds Of Gold series.

"What is Carnyland? Well I can't quite tell you cause it's almost impossible to explain," Corgan said. "But tune in next week, Tuesday 6:05, our normal timeslot here on our YouTube channel, and you'll most certainly find out just like I will."

As seen in the tweets below, the NWA is already selling a black logo t-shirt for Carnyland, and they have a Twitter account set up for the series at @carnyland. The location for the show is set to one of the most famous locations in pro wrestling history - Parts Unknown.
