CHRISTIAN CAGE RETIRES TNA WORLD TITLE ON IMPACT WRESTLING

On Tonight's Impact Wrestling, Christian Cage retired the TNA World title.

The new Impact World Champion came out for an in-ring promo in his first appearance for the company in more than a decade. He said that despite the history of the title, it was time to focus on the now instead of then and respectfully retire it. He then handed the belt to ring announcer David Penzer who took the title away as the crowd chanted "TNA."

Cage won both the Impact and TNA title belts last Friday on AEW Rampage when he beat Kenny Omega.

The title was originally retired on March 2nd, 2017, after TNA was rebranded to Impact Wrestling. The championship had served as the flagship belt of the promotion when it was introduced in 2007.

It was reintroduced at the Rebellion pay-per-view in 2020 when then-Impact Champion Tessa Blanchard and challenger Eddie Edwards couldn't appear at the event. Moose, Michael Elgin and Hernandez had a three-way match for the vacant title, which Moose ended up winning.

Although a new Impact champion was crowned a few months later, Moose regularly defended the TNA belt throughout 2020 and into 2021. He lost the belt to then-Impact champion Rich Swann in a title unification match at March 2001's Sacrifice before Swann lost both belts to Omega a month later. Here's the promo where you can see Christian retire the title.

UNITED WRESTLING NETWORK TO FINALLY CROWN FIRST CHAMPION NEXT MONTH IN ATLANTA

The United Wrestling Network announced the following:

Hollywood, CA/Atlanta, GA (August 19,2021) – Pro Wrestling returns to Center Stage Theatre on Thursday September 2nd courtesy of Peachtree TV and United Wrestling Network (UWN) with the all-new Championship Wrestling from Atlanta presented by CarShield.  The live television event will feature 3 huge main events including the long-awaited finals of the UWN World Championship tournament featuring Mike Bennett facing “Dirty Daddy” Chris Dickinson.

“When I was an NWA Promoter, I staged an event at Phillips Arena,” states Executive Producer David Marquez.  “I learned so much about the local wrestling scene that I hoped to someday return on more of a fulltime basis. About 3 years ago I was a part of the team that brought NWA Power to Georgia Public Broadcasting and fell for the town and fanbase again. I don’t go into new areas without local television partners, so I approached Meredith Broadcasting because they own WPCH-TV/Peachtree TV - the original home of pro wrestling in Atlanta and the former WTBS-17! With the pandemic in full swing, I wasn’t in any hurry to get on the air, so the station staff and our team took our time crafting the relationship. I’m so happy we’ll be on the air starting Saturday September 18th at 10P! Also, the question of venue came up. As much as I loved GPB, I went the other direction and landed in a location deep in Atlanta pro wrestling history, Center Stage. Many are telling me that Atlanta is oversaturated with pro wrestling and that may be true, but this isn’t my first original TV promotion. In the past 3 decades I’ve been a part of a lot of wrestling TV, but for 11 years, my own Championship Wrestling from Hollywood has been seen on close to 300 outlets and in two languages in the US. 5 years ago, we started Championship Wrestling from Arizona with Tucson’s CW and 2 years later we launched Championship Wrestling from Memphis with CW30 to great success. Monthly studio style television wrestling will truly return to Atlanta and I’m grateful to have the opportunity.”

The inaugural card features the very best from around pro wrestling today including talent featured in WWE, Impact, NJPW, AEW and local Georgia favorites.

Scheduled to appear:

United Wrestling Network World Tag Team Champions Danny Limelight and Slice Boogie “The Bodega”

The Awakening

Eric Bischoff On Firing Raven (And I Shoot Holes In His "Logic")

Eric Bischoff on a recent "83 Weeks" Podcast mentioned his firing of Raven, and his logic behind it. His "logic" has alot to be desired, especially when facts of how raven got better success AFTER he got fired and returned to ECW. It proves that whoever was in 'creative' at the time in WCW was 'creatively challenged" and either didn't, or wasn't capable of utilizing Raven like was in ECW.

So here's Eric's quotes, followed by me shooting holes into his logic. It is pretty easy to do when facts laid out show I'm right. And if Eric gets called on this, he'll do his favorite dance to deflect from it or avoid it. That "dance" of his called, the "side step", which is something he does quite often.

Bischoff also mentioned the firing of Raven back when he was in charge of WCW and why he chose to let him go given his talent in the ring. He cited Raven bad mouthing WCW behind the scenes as a key reason as to why the company let him go.

“[Raven] was kind of a malcontent, his character was a malcontent and he lived his character,” Bischoff recalled. “You had talent out mouthing off and expressing their opinions about the company which is fine, as long as you’re not taking a cheque from the company. If you’re taking a cheque from the company and you’re out there publicly disparaging it, I’ve got no f***ing time for you man, hit the road".

And WHY was he bad mouthing the company as YOU 'allege', but of course won't provide any proof on?

Raven's character and his "Flock" got over really well. The fans were very much ibnto it but, because you had the NWO running roughshod with the monster push, Stables like The Flock were regulated to mid-card at best. So maybe you should look at yourself and your lack of 'creative' department as to why the company (according to you) was being badmouthed.

“Especially if you’re a non contributing talent, meaning you’re not moving any needles, you’re not generating any revenue, you’re certainly not a ratings pull. You’re just another cog in the wheel, as [Raven] was at the time. Why the hell would I want a guy like that around? Would you? If you had a guy out there bad mouthing your company while he was working for your company, would you fire him?”

And why was he (according to you) a 'non-contributing factor'? What held him back from BEING a contributing factor? Care to answer that or will you just duck and dodge that because you know the answer lies squarely, with you.

To YOU Eric, Raven was 'another cog in the wheel' but you need ALL the cogs in the wheel to actually make a wheel.

Guess you basic logic like that flies over your head alot, doesn't it.

Funny though, for a guy who was just a 'cog in the wheel' and 'not a ratings pull' (Though I'd love for you to show proof of that.. We know you won't and will just hide behind excuses like you always do), As soon as you fired raven, he returned back to ECW and became a top guy there again, instantly.

Not bad for a guy who was 'another cog in the wheel', eh?

Damn Bischoff, you make it so easy to 'check' you. Funny how facts have a way, of doing, just that. Boom.

Today's "Marks" Really And Truly ARE-This Dumb (Never Ceases To Amaze Me Either)

Mickey Doyle is someone who helps contribute various things to this web site. Links to videos, news, whatnot. So it comes as no surprise when he posted a link hyping something i wrote, that AEW "Marks" would be jumping all over it.

I wish I could've gotten in on this exchange because I would've just buried them right from the get go and "checked" them instantaneously.

But Mickey with simple, basic replies showed just how, fucking stupid today's "Marks" really are, and seem to just want to be. They seriously can't help themselves and when they see someone like Mickey or myself easily run rings around them WITH, simple basic replies.. You'd think they'd get the hint and wander away.

BUT.. As you're about to see. "Marks" today can't conceive that concept if their life depended on it. They really are fucking dumb, and they for some reason, insist on going out of their way to prove it.

For some reason they can't grasp the fact that THEY, are the ones showing how stupid they are by replying to somethiung they claim they 'don't care' about.

If you really "don't care" then why are you continuously replying to it, DUMB ASS!

.

And since "Marks" love to try and use the "Nobody goes to that site" copout and excuse to hide behind. Let me go ahead and just take that argument away from them right now.

This screenshot was taken 90 seconds ago. This is how many people HAVE come to this site in the last hour.

BOOM! Now they have nothing. They have no arguments.

"Marks". Someday they'll smarten up, someday.. Someday evidently won't be today.

NEW DATE (AGAIN- ROLLS EYES) SET FOR ALBERTO DEL RIO TRIAL

Court records indicate that the trial of former WWE and Impact Wrestling Champion Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan aka Alberto Del Rio and Alberto el Patron has been pushed back to Monday 10/25 in San Antonio, Texas.  Chucuan is facing one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault after being indicted back in October 2020.  If the charges stand and Chucuan is found guilty, he could be facing as much as life in prison.

The trial was originally slated to take place in January 2020 but was postponed several times.  It was most recently slated to begin on 8/2  There were several documents filed before the court on 8/3 but the trial did not begin and as of today, the new trial date was listed.

It should be noted that several months ago, a woman (we are protecting her identity for obvious reason) issued an apology via social media for what Chucuan's family has been going through since the arrest.  Chucuan's brother responded, claiming on his own social media that it was an admission that the charges were false.  Since that social media comment, nothing has changed in regard to the trial date, but if the woman was indeed rescinding her claims, one would think that would quickly be brought up in court as the trial commences.  Chucuan has stated publicly that the woman who made the allegations against him has dropped her claims and that he expects the situation to be wrapped up as soon as possible.  As of this writing, however, charges still have not been dropped by prosecutors.

Chucuan, 44, was arrested on 5/9/20 after a victim went to San Antonio, Texas authorities, stating that on Sunday 5/3/20 at 10 PM, Chucuan allegedly became angry with her and physically assaulted her after accusing her of infidelity.  When the victim would not admit to the infidelity, Chucuan allegedly slapped her "across the head" several times.  The victim also alleged that Chucuan "forced her to wear a dress and dance for him" and that when she refused and he told her not to start crying because if she did, "he would take her son and drop him in the middle of the road somewhere."

The arrest affidavit stated that the woman alleged Chucuan had sexually assaulted her and that she had her injuries documented via photographs.

At the time, The FOX affiliate in San Antonio reported, "Police said Rodriguez Chucuan then tied the woman's hands with boxing straps, put a sock in her mouth and sexually assaulted her for several hours, using various objects. According to investigators, he also punched her in the back during the assault, causing visible injuries. The victim told detectives she does not remember much after he placed his hand around her throat."

TMZ later reported additional details that brought the accusations into a much more disturbing light, stating that the victim reported the attack started at around 10 PM on 5/3/20 and that it lasted over 16 hours, ending  on 5/4/20 on 2:30 PM.  The victim went to the police the same day with TMZ's report noting that the responding officer saw bruises on her face, arms, legs and neck.  The victim alleged that Chucuan attempted to burn her passport and smashed her laptop computer and cell phone.  TMZ reported that the victim, "..also claims Del Rio attacked her, causing multiple injuries and left her, 'feeling woozy and dizzy from the hits to her head.' "  The victim told police she was afraid and intended to leave San Antonio as soon as possible.

In Texas, a conviction for aggravated kidnapping, if punishable in the first degree could result in a a prison sentence ranging from 5 to 99 years or life imprisonment and/or a fine up to $10,000.  However, if the accused can prove they released the alleged victim voluntarily, they could only be convicted of aggravated kidnapping in the second degree, which could result in a prison sentence ranging from two to 20 years and/or a fine up to $10,000.   If Del Rio was indeed indicted, the minimum prison sentence for sexual assault (per count) under Texas law would be 2 years with a maximum of up to 20 years.  As a second degree felony under Texas law, sexual assault can also lead to a fine of up to $10,000, in addition to incarceration.

Since departing WWE, Chucuan has wrestled as Alberto el Patron in Impact Wrestling, last wrestling in February 2020 for Qatar Pro Wrestling.  He is currently being advertised for a 7/31 match against former WWE star Andrade in McAllen, Texas for the Nacion Lucha Libre promotion.

Jim Cornette on Ric Flair Chopping Kenny Omega At Triplemania (Showing Again That Omega Doesn't Know How To "Sell" Properly)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3SprRQjMrE

Cornette covered this perfectly. Especially when it came to Kenny Omega's "selling", or bad "selling" since Omega wasn't trained and doesn't really know how to "sell" properly.

I saw the clip and Konnan? "sells" Flair's chop properly. Omega? Nope, he's chopped over and over and over by Flair and Andrade and mega does an absolute HORRIBLE job at "Selling" them.

That's the difference between someone like Konnan, who WAS trained properly and knows what "selling" is.. And Kenny Omega.

See the clip for yourself, right here, and I'm sure the Omega "Marks" And AEW "Marks" will try and defend it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfAt17kqiHA

There's nothing to defend, Kenny Omega doesn't know how to "sell" properly. And the sooner the "Marks" accept that, the better.
