Constitution State Wrestling Returns To Groton, CT
After a successful December 2016 event, CSW brings the rough and tumble excitement of professional wrestling back to Grasso Tech High School on Saturday December 9, 2017 at 7pm.
Groton, CT; December 9, 2017
Constitution State Wrestling makes its long-awaited return to the Groton area, with an event featuring world-class wrestlers and high-flying action. Last year’s event drew a raucous crowd of four hundred fans to the gymnasium of Ella T. Grasso Tech High School with former WWE Superstars Tatanka and Gangrel, as well as a who’s who of area wrestling stars. The event on Saturday night, December 9th will be no different. The main event will feature a first-time-ever match-up as former WWE Superstar Adam Rose takes on Ring of Honor Wrestling star and Swansea, MA native “Brutal” Bob Evans. “I’ve known Adam Rose for a few years now,” Evans began. “I know he’s a family man. I know he’s a great entertainer and I know he’s a guy who kicked around for 17 years before he got his big break. As much as I respect him and admire him, it will be different when I get a hold of him on December 9th. He’s been contemplating retirement for a year now, so I may unfortunately have to decide that for him and retire him that night right there in Groton, CT.”
Constitution State Wrestling is the culmination of former professional wrestler Nat Peterson’s fandom of the world of professional wrestling. After going toe-to-toe with some of the biggest and toughest men in the Northeast, Peterson retired his spandex tights and knee-high leather boots for a suit and briefcase as the owner/promoter of his own wrestling promotion. Recognizing the strong naval presence in the Groton area, Constitution State Wrestling has previously offered special ticket pricing and admissions for local members of the military. The company also attempts to give back to the community, providing opportunities for fans to receive discounted tickets with donations to the local food pantry, as well as having allowed the student organizations of Ella T. Grasso Tech to use the event as a venue for their own fundraising.
“Independent wrestling doesn’t mean lesser quality wrestling; it just means a different kind of wrestling entertainment. The best part is the intimacy, fans are right up close and interact with the wrestlers,” continued Evans, “plus you never know if the guys you are watching in a local high school gymnasium today might be on national TV next year”. Fans in attendance on Saturday, December 9th will see a variety of matches, including a tag team attraction featuring the nearly 600lb team of the Heavy Hitters battling Connecticut residents Dave Cole and Randy Shawn, who celebrate their northern heritage as “The Canadian Superstars”. Fans of women’s wrestling will also not be disappointed as two ladies with international experience lock up. Both Luscious Latasha and her opponent Davienne have journeyed to Japan in pursuit of elite-level competition. In addition, four more matches have been signed for the event. Bell-time for this live event is 7:00PM. Tickets are $15.00 to sit ringside and $10.00 for general admission. Fans can receive $2.00 off the price of admission with the donation of a canned good, to be delivered to the Groton Food Pantry.

Constitution State Wrestling is owned and operated by Nat Peterson, a Waterbury, CT resident. The wrestling promotion is committed to presenting family-friendly events at an affordable ticket price. Peterson lists wrestling legend Jim Cornette as an influence in his grass roots style of presenting pro wrestling, modeling the company much like the Southern wrestling companies of the 1980’s. With larger-than-life personalities and great in-ring action, Peterson promises that his events contain something for every kind of fan.
