After having his attempt to dismiss the lawsuit brought against him by independent wrestler Samantha Tavel (Candy Cartwright) fail when the court denied the request, WWE United States Champion Matt Riddle was ordered to respond to Tavel's lawsuit by 4/14 by the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
The two sides have also been ordered to provide the court with a proposed discovery scheduled by 4/21. Discovery is the process where the two parties are required to exchange information that may help their respective case against the other.
Tavel filed a lawsuit in October 2020 against Riddle, World Wrestling Entertainment, the now-defunct EVOLVE promotion and Gabe Sapolsky, seeking $10 million from each defendant, stemming from Tavel's allegations, which initially became public during the Speaking Out movement online during the summer of 2020, claiming Riddle allegedly choked and forced her to perform oral sex on him in May 2018. Tavel's lawsuit stated the incident took place on a bus that was leaving EVOLVE 104 in Summit, Illinois, hence the lawsuit was being filed before Cook County Court. It also alleges that Riddle effectively prevented her from being able to be booked for WWE dates.
Earlier this week, the court dismissed WWE and Gabe Sapolsky as defendants in the civil lawsuit, stating that their connection to the allegations could not be proven.

Like WWE doesn't micromanage enough things (which shows why their product sucks ass), we now.. Have, THIS!
WWE officials are apparently trying to make sure Randy Orton is the heel in the ongoing feud against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss.
A fan on Twitter who regularly participates in the WWE Thunder Dome crowds noted that the Thunder Dome host asked fans to give “big boos” for Orton during the main event segment that saw Orton summon The Fiend on Monday’s RAW show.
It was also noted that the host did not ask for any other reactions during the segment with Orton, The Fiend and Bliss, until the show went off the air. The host also did not ask for any specific crowd reactions during The Fiend’s return segment at WWE Fastlane on Sunday in the Bliss vs. Orton match.
WWE should just leave well enough alone and not try to make fans react the way THEY, want them to.. It's gonna blow back and slap them in the face. And when it does? I'll be the one that says "I told you so, dumb asses".
But of course, they won't listen because in the WWE "Universe", THEY, think they know better.. When they really don't.

Once again, I get proven right. I said several weeks ago when this AEW/Impact agreement started that it wouldn't mean much for Impact and lookey lookey.. I get proven right, yet... Again.
Kinda sucks when the "marks" and fanboys have to be proven wrong by me, BUT.. It always seems to happen and this is just another example of it.
Despite AEW World Champion Kenny Omega returning on the episode, this week’s Impact Wrestling drew the show’s lowest viewership of 2021 thus far.
Tuesday’s Impact averaged 116,000 viewers on AXS TV, down from the 146,000 viewers that last week’s episode averaged. The rating in the 18-49 demo stayed steady at a 0.04. Impact has drawn a 0.04 rating in 18-49 for three straight weeks.
In the 18-49 demo, Impact ranked 146th for the night on cable. Last week’s Impact, which featured the fallout from Impact's Sacrifice Impact Plus special, ranked 135th.
As I covered yesterday, Kenny Omega's appearance on Impact this week was fucking horrible, and now? The ratings actually show I wasn't the only one who thought that.
Here's where I covered it last night.
https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2021/03/kenny-omega-is-inside-impact-zone-and.html
https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2021/03/aew-world-champion-kenny-omega-walks.html
Maybe for now on, Don Callis, who's the biggest Kenny Omega 'Mark" out there, and booker for Impact, should go ahead and try something different booking wise. Because this has poroven to be nothing, but as fucking disaster. Just as I said it would be.
Instead of saying "Kenny 'By God' Omega, Callis should change it to Kenny 'my God you suck' Omega. Obviously, that's more correct. :)
The "Wrestling God", is nothing more, than a ratings flop.
Instead of "Wrestling God" the new nick name for Kenny should be, "Ratings Dropper", because that's obviously, what he has proven to be.
It's sad that it had to come to this, but it doesn't matter who you are, or how long I've known you.. if you delete replies that contradict what you say then you're nothing but a little bitch. And a once long time friend in Evan Ginzburg, who I've known since the 90's (and wrote for his old Wrestling Then And Now Newsletter he had back then), proved that when he gets contradicted, he acts like a little bitch because he can't handle a different kind of truth when it's presented with facts.
This came about because of a post Evan made, 'indirectly' in response to a post I made on my page concerning bad cops who get busted doing stupid things. The screen shot of my post is below.
Now instead of having the balls to make a reply on my post, mind you.. He decides to try the passive/aggressive approach and posts something on his page that's 'indirectly' aimed at what I posted. Screen shot of his post is below.
So what happens when I show him there's no 'crickets' here, and call him out on it? he tries to talk down to me about empathy for the family of the officer who was shot in Colorado. Guess what.. THAT, didn't come out well in his favor.
I explained about the families of the three officers who will now have to live with the fact that their dad, uncle, relative, etc will forever be known as a fuck up cop who got busted for stealing evidence money. Charges against the suspects these cops stole the money from were reduced to misdemeanors and they had a right to get the money back. Woman asked for it and it was missing and an investigation concluded that three sheriff deputies stole the money.
The link to that story? Is right here.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzJ4GoXk6qw&t=492s
Here's his post that was indirectly a reply to me, since he had no balls to actually reply on my post.
Now instead of having the balls to make a reply on my post, mind you.. He decides to try the passive/aggressive approach and posts something on his page that's 'indirectly' aimed at what I posted. Screen shot of his post is below.
Didn't Jazz retire for like, two weeks, then suddenly 'come out of retirement' when someone decided to offer her a job?
Yeah, she did do that.
Don't you love how wrestlers 'retire' when they can't get booked for a decent payday, then quickly come out of retirement when a job offer comes along?
I love how Deonna "no sells' three clotheslines in a row. I remember a time when nailing a clothesline actually meant something. Hell Stan Hansen made a career out of using that one move. Even JBL too for that matter. Now? it's just a "aaahhh, why bother 'selling' it" move in Impact.
Very lame face buster by Jazz, Deonna's attempt at an fujiawa arm bar looked so bad. maybe she should stop trying moves she can't convincing try to do. Just a hint here.
Why is Suzie, after interfering in the match, putting her hands up to a crowd that isn't even there? DDUUHH!
Thank God places like Reality Of Wrestling and Mission Pro Wrestling are out there. Way better matches in them companies, than here in Impact.
Another match that has high spots with no substance, "Selling" that was barely there, and way too many kick outs.
Can't we have matches where a kick out at a two count actually MEANS something? I guess not.
Mad Man Fulton coming in to break a pin fall and giving TJP a Disqualification victory isn't a, ahem... "Shocker". Hate to be the bearer of bad news on that, but it's true.
Raju literally walks right into a 450 slam. Seriously it was that fucking obvious. They don't know how to stop or try to avoid the obvious walking into a move?
Then Bahh sits and waits literally, for Raju to come off and give a double stomp. The time 'waiting' for it was obvious as well.
The piped in cheers can't cover up how bad this was.
And people actually think, Impact puts out a good product.. It used to, years ago when it was TNA. But not now since Scotty D'Amore and Don Callis took over as bookers, that's for damn sure.
The very first ad I can see why it got a pop and people buzzing, second one? Sure ok.. Now? Nobody gives a fuck except maybe Tony Khan.
Why is AEW promoting their show on Impact when Impact has way less viewers than AEW? Yeah, these 'brilliant' ideas just keep coming, no matter how stupid they are.
Omega and Callis walked out and I know I wasn't the only one who said "Thank God, hopefully this will end soon".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juK6f2eODck
Yeah, raising the AEW World title to the obviously piped in cheers sure made a ton of sense, dumb ass.
PPSSTT, next time you have a camera follow a wrestler around the ring, try a less wider camera shot. That way it doesn't show even with the piped in crowd noise.. That there ISN'T ANY FANS THERE! Dumb shits.
If you wanted to show that there isn't fans there, you accomplished it to a tee.
Callis proves again that people who have "Go Away" heat, or "God I wanna turn the channel" heat, shouldn't be on Tv with a microphone.
I guess he's taken the "Jeff Jarrett" mentality on this. You know you have the heat that doesn't get you over so instead of taking yourself off TV? You do the opposite and force yourself down peoples throats like Jarrett did when HE, was in Impact/TNA. Yeah, 'brilliant' booking idea, Mr Booker Don Callis (rolls eyes).
The best part of this whole segment? Were the advertisements YouTube thru in during it, LMAO!
Callis wants to 'insure' the legacy of Omega, so as booker of Impact, he'll simply book Omega to win the Impact world title. When it happens you'll hear me saying, "I told you so". :)
Don Callis: No one has ever kicked out of the One Winged Angel, Does the name Kota Ibushi sound familiar? Nice try though... Nice try.
I can on and on as they give me so much ammunition on how horrible this was. Thank God the ECW TV show from 1994 I'm gonna watch later will be ten times better, than this shit.
Trey literally, walks right into a side slam, a blind man could see that one coming from a block awazy. Why couldn't trey stopo himself? DDUUHH!!
The least you can do? Is not make it, SO FUCKING OBVIOUS that you're gonna walk into a move. Logic, common sense, seems to be missing in most matches these days and right there, was a clear example of it.
ANOTHER, example of how wwaayy too many kick outs dull the excitement of a match. And it's not just Impact that does this stupid shit, WWE, and AEW do it too.
Tons of high spots by Trey with horrible 'selling'.. Gee, how did i know that was gonna happen? OH wait, it ALWAYS HAPPENS with small guys who think they're "Super Cena".
Booker Don Callis once said he didn't want Impact to look like "WWE Lite". Well, he hasn't.. He's made it worse, so I guess that's one thing he's kept his word on.
THIS? was considered a 'main event'? (yawns).
Just about everything that's wrong with today's wrestling, happened in this match.
"Selling" was atrocious at best.
Way too many kick outs, to the point it loses and takes any 'excitement' out of the match over making it more exciting. Something current era wrestlers can't seem to comprehend, OORRR, don't want to comprehend it.
All these punches and forearms to the face, but no blood? HHHHMMMMM, guess that logic was taken out when putting this match together, eh?
Another great example of why the only way Impact could get a 'TV Deal' was if their parent company bought a network, LOL.
On this edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling, chaos breaks out when J.T. Smith challenges The Tazmaniac for the ECW World Television Championship in the main event. Plus, Jason shows footage of The Pitbull and The Rockin' Rebel in action, Shane Douglas goes one-on-one with Pat Tanaka, and much more!
Someone posted one of these pics that I took a screen shot of in a group that I'm an 'Admin' in, on Facebook. I cracked up laughing that a 'community' naming itself after WWE is posting AEW, Impact and ROH stuff.
"Someone" didn't think their plan all the way thru when they created that community, that's for sure, LOL. But even Stevie Wonder can see that maybe whoever the idiot was that created this community, should really consider a name change for it.
Or, they can continue to look stupid, they can choose. :)
Too bad Arn doesn't have the balls to tell the roster of the company he works for (AEW) all this. I guess it's just easier to say it on a podcast, than to actually say it toe faces of the roster, bookers and owner who's giving him a paycheck.
Or maybe, the roster, bookers and the owner are just too ignorant to listen to a voice of experience, because they feel that they 'know better', when they really don't.
I wonder which one it is.. Maybe someone can tell me.
During the latest episode of the ARN Podcast, Arn Anderson answered questions from fans about his current role with AEW.
Over the years, there have been more and more false finishes and high spots that don’t end matches. Anderson spoke about the amount of false finishes we see in wrestling today and why he’s not a fan of it. Arn said he loved when guys hit their finish, used it, and the match was over.
“Brock Lesnar got over on the fact that if he hit one F5, you were beat,” Arn said. “We spent 10 years telling the public that if John Cena hooked you in the STF, you might be able to get to the ropes and save yourself the first time but if he drug you back to the middle of the ring before you got there, that was it. We set up finishes for a reason so that you can build drama, work towards that finish. The drama is you don’t quite get to hit it and that’s why you didn’t win that night. Had you hit that particular move, you would’ve won. Not that you hit it 4 or 5 times and the guy kicked out because guess what, it’s no longer a finish.
“Don’t try to beat me next week with something that Joe Blow kicked out of 5 times the week before, I won’t be laying there. There’s only so much you can do in this business, that’s the reason you don’t see something new everyday because pretty much everything has been done. Once you take away a guy’s finish and he’s got to find something else as a finish, there’s not a lot of stuff laying around. I think guys are burning the business out by doing all this high impact stuff because once you use it as just a high spot, that’s all it will ever be afterwards.”
Anderson noted that he felt that finishes needed to be kept sacred. He said the reason we’re seeing this difference in the business is because of the lack of mic work, and talent trying their best to maximize the minutes they’re receiving.
“If someone power bombs you over the top rope onto the apron outside and you hit it half way between your shoulder blades, you have no idea how bad that hurts,” Anderson said. “I see that and that’s not the end of the match, that’s not a count out? What is? That would’ve been in my day a stretcher job. Had somebody done that to me, I’m going out there in an ambulance. It’s just the difference of the way the business is.
“I think the kids are all trying to do the best they can and go higher and further, so they can get over with you guys. They haven’t had an opportunity to get a microphone and week in week out, for 52 weeks a year, have something to say to the audience, compound that out year after year, that’s how you get over. They’re trying to bum rush it by doing a high wire act. As you know, you get to a point where you are desensitized to it as a fan, now what?”

How do you NOT, invite him back? That's dumb as hell.
How do you NOT bring back a guy who helped get the current NWA over by featuring it on his own promotion's shows? Helped bring credibility to, the NWA and is known as a 'voice' of the current NWA?
Pretty fucking stupid, Pretty fucking stupid, indeed.

Kenny Omega is a God of pro Wrestling? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh wait, Callis was serious? LMAO! Always nice to see owners and bookers like D'Amore, Callis and Tony Khan, who have 'go away' heat, think they should be on TV.
This was good and solid, until Don Callis came out.
I don't know where the 'emotion' was at cause it really wasn't in THIS match.
What WAS in this match was a whole bunch of no 'selling', or horribly bad 'selling', Sammy gets hit with a cutter outside the ring, hits face first to the floor and no blood? HHHHMMM. If anyone on the face of the earth smacked a floor face first, there'd be blood or a bruise, but not in professional wrestling, LOL.
Little logic like this goes far, but obviously this era's wrestlers seem to go far to make sure logic doesn't matter anymore.
And the obviously piped in fan cheers don't help make this, any more 'emotional', either.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeYbkxlqO-8
Can they make it any more obvious that they're gonna get Gored? Turn and walk riught into it? That's as predictable as a rerun.
