Carnyland 002 | Hey Brother, Rumor Has It...
Carnyland 002 takes you inside a rumor that's got all the citizens of Carnyland up in arms. What is the rumor that's the talk of the National Wrestling Alliance? We do know a special emergency council meeting was called to be held after the show.
Watch how this rumor spreads through Carnyland and like all wrestling angles, it has a twist that you should have seen coming but likely it won't be spoiled by Joe Galli's news reporting. Does it involve NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis and Strictly Business? What about the President of The NWA, Willam Patrick Corgan? Could Carnyland already be closing after one week?

DEONNA PURRAZZO COMING TO IMPACT WRESTLING
On tonight's episode of Impact, a video aired hyping the arrival of Deonna Purrazzo. She tweeted after the video aired: "I’ll see you soon @IMPACTWRESTLING... #Virtuosa"
The video that aired tonight was also uploaded to Purrazzo's YouTube channel last month. It establishes Purrazzo's Virtuosa character, with her saying she has outstanding technical ability and a cultivated appreciation for artistic excellence. Purrazzo says she's been able to declutter her mind and access space previously ignored -- and she's formulated the perfect equation for success and implements it with precision.
Purrazzo was part of last month's WWE releases. While announcing her release, Purrazzo tweeted that being released was something she had been struggling with wanting: "The people closest to me know this is something I’ve been struggling with wanting for the better part of the last year. Happy to say I gave this journey my best and MORE excited for the future!"
The wrestlers released from NXT had 30-day non-compete clauses.
Purrazzo's last match for WWE was against Nia Jax on the April 6 episode of Raw. She was also part of a gauntlet match on the April 1 episode of NXT.

God, You Wish This Would Finally End, But It Won't As.. JARRETT, GFW VS. IMPACT WRESTLING TRIAL SET FOR NEXT MONTH AFTER SETTLEMENT DISCUSSIONS FAIL
There was an attempt to resolve the lawsuit Jeff Jarrett and his company Global Force Entertainment (parent company of Global Force Wrestling) brought against Anthem Wrestling, the parent company of Impact Wrestling May 15th.
After being ordered by the Tennessee Middle District Court court to enter mediation last month, the two parties attempted to negotiate a settlement agreement that would have prevented going to trial but were unable to do so. Jarrett attended the mediation in person while Anthem Wrestling President Ed Nordholm appeared via teleconference as he is in Canada and unable to enter the United States.
Currently, the trial to resolve the lawsuit is set to begin on Tuesday 6/30 at 9 AM local time with the court noting that the "trial date is realistic notwithstanding COVID-19, and the parties shall anticipate going forward on that date." The trial is expected to last 5-7 days, unless the two sides come to a settlement before the trial. There has been a flurry of activity over the last six weeks in regard to the lawsuit as all sides must submit their exhibits and witnesses by 6/12.

This Is What happens When A Rival Promoter Pulls A Bitch Move
Greg Anthony's Pro Wrestling Mid South ran Saturday night in Dyersburg, TN at the Herb Welch Wrestleplex before 100 fans were shut down at intermission when local police came, allegedly after being tipped off by a rival promotion complaining about them running a show with crowds.
There was a new order that allows noncontact sporting events and activities and other social gatherings but also had this wording which seems to ban pro wrestling, and now everyone doesn't know whether it's allowable. This was the ruling that got Anthony's show shut down:
"Contact sporting events and activities, where there is a requirement or substantial likelihood of routine close contact and adequate social distancing is not feasible, are prohibited, but this does not apply to collegiate or professional sports conducted under the rules or guidelines of their respective governing bodies. This also does not prohibit training or otherwise practicing the elements of such sports that do not involve close contact with persons."
So a rival promoter who couldn't a show of his own running decides to snitch, like a bitch because someone else was capable of having some success during this virus environment.. Talk about being a pussy. How much you wanna bet that, that promoter.. Who had the balls to be a snitch bitch, won't ever have the balls to admit he snitched.. My bet and I love to bet on things like this? Is that he'll bitch up, with a quickness. Most snitches and bitches do.
What's even more suspicious is, Bert Prentice ran shows with fans there and officials there but HHEEE, wasn't shut down.. Makes you go HHMMMMM..

Britt Baker's Injuries Revealed, Brian Cage Debuts In AEW, New TNT Champion (And of Course A Person in 'Power' Happens To Win It)
Britt Baker's injuries were revealed at AEW Double or Nothing Saturday as were the dentist's intentions to appear on Dynamite Wednesday to address when she could return.
Baker did not appear on the pay-per-view, but AEW physician Michael Sampson did, revealing that she suffered a partial LCL tear, an interior tibia fracture, and a small tendon tear in a tag team match on last week's Dynamite. He then said she would be on Dynamite Wednesday to discuss the injuries.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury when Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida slammed Nyla Rose into her while she was seated in a ring corner. She immediately grabbed at her right knee and was out of the match shortly thereafter. 2020 has been rough injury wise on Baker as she also suffered a nose injury in a match with Shida in April.
Baker was scheduled to wrestle Statlander at Double or Nothing, but was replaced by Penelope Ford.
Brian Cage has arrived in AEW and is in line for a future shot at the promotion's World Championship.
Cage was accompanied by Taz and made his AEW debut as the ninth entrant in tonight's Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing. The finish of the match was Cage retrieving the poker chip that was hanging above the ring after a spot where he picked up a ladder with Darby Allin laying across it and threw it out of the ring.
As the winner of the Casino Ladder match, Cage will get a future shot at the AEW World Championship. Jon Moxley is defending the title against Brodie Lee at Double or Nothing later tonight.
A storyline leading into Double or Nothing was that Taz had been offering to help Allin, but Allin didn't want his advice. Taz cut a brief promo after Cage's win and said Cage will continue dropping bodies.
Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian, Kip Sabian, Allin, Orange Cassidy, Colt Cabana, Joey Janela, Luchasaurus, and Cage were the entrants in the Casino Ladder Match. It started with two wrestlers in the ring, then a new participant was added every two minutes until all nine were in.
Fenix was originally set for the Casino Ladder Match but was replaced by Janela due to injury.
It was reported by SoCalUncensored.com in January that Cage had agreed to a multi-year deal with AEW. But Cage posted an update on his injury and contract status later that month. Cage confirmed that he was no longer under contract with Impact Wrestling but said he would need to undergo surgery to repair a torn right biceps. Cage said that he wasn't technically with any promotion then.
Cody is the first-ever TNT Champion, (Gee, like nobody saw THAT coming) defeating Lance Archer tonight at Double or Nothing.
Towards the end of the match, Cody’s coach Arn Anderson was ejected to the back after a second referee came out and told the referee that Anderson had crotched Lance Archer on the top turnbuckle. After Anderson was ejected, Archer’s manager Jake Roberts brought out a snake.
However, the snake was never brought to the ring as Mike Tyson, who was set to present the TNT Championship to the winner, took off his shirt and stared down Roberts. As this was going on, Cody hit two Cross Rhodes to Archer and pinned him to win the title. Tyson then presented the title to Cody.
It was noted prior to the match that the AEW TNT Championship belt hasn’t been fully completed due to COVID-19.
Cody’s first championship defense will take place on June 3. The winner of a battle royal scheduled for Dynamite this Wednesday will be the first challenger.

Whoever Is Posting Conrad's Stuff Is obviously An F'N Idiot
I mean seriously, is it really THAT HARD, to post things or title things correctly on YouTube? Shouldn't be that hard. I've done it, BBUUUTT.. As you'll see by the pattern laid out before you here. SOMEBODY needs to stay the fuck awake when they're doing this.
There's this story I did. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/05/conrad-thompson-seriously-needs-to.html where it's titled with Scott Hall's name but NO MENTION AT ALL of Scott Hall in the segment.
Then there's one.. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/05/funny-how-nobody-ever-catches-this.html Where it's supposed to be Bischoff shooting on what TNA did right. BUT.. Doesn't mention one thing they did right, LOL! Plus the other segment in the story where the voices were going too fast and they sounded like they inhaled helium.
YYEPPP real professional job here, Top fucking notch, The Dave Meltlzer five stars for failure, right here. But, there's more..
There's this one here.. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/05/can-someone-please-show-conrad-thomas.html as well.
You see the pattern of fucking up here? WHO THE FUCK OR HOW THE FUCK, CAN YOU FUCK THIS UP, SSOOO OFTEN?
WELL.. Some has, and as you're about to see? Continues to.
Here you go.. Today's fuck up by the 'ace genius' who's in charge of constantly screwing it up..
Yes indeedy, let's go ahead and put the 83 weeks logo and Bischoff's picture for a segment from the Arn Anderson podcast.. Yeah, that works really well. If YOU'RE FUCKING MORON.
The fact that all of these I've posted here to this moment HAVEN'T BEEN CORRECTED. At all. i GUESS Conrad Thompson, Eric Bischoff and Arn Anderson just don't give a shot HOW something is posted, as long as it's posted (rolls eyes)
Love the fact that Conrad I guess, feels that correcting all these things is something that's 'beneath him'. He's too good and too above it all to feel he needs to be corrected, even though the obvious is right here.
The more they keep fucking it up, the more I'm gonna continue to show what fuck ups they are. I mean, not my fault they keep making it so easy for me to do.

Carnyland 001 | A Long Way From NWA Powerrr
Carnyland is here! On last week's NWAP owerrr, NWA President William Patrick Corgan announced the idea of #Carnyland. So what is it? That's a great question that is not easily answered in one sentence, essay or even one video. More info here - https://www.nationalwrestlingalliance...
To the fans of #NWAPowerrr, we have asked one member of the roster to let you know from the beginning how much we miss doing the studio wrestling show. You'll hear their authentic voice on how important each of you and how much we miss you. We read every one of your comments and can't wait to read below as you watch this new show.
From that moment, you'll enter #Carnyland and what you see will be just a first step into this new land we're building. Like any new place, it will constantly be evolving based on its visitors, citizens and those who sit on the town council.
You will see some familiar faces from the National Wrestling Alliance in this new place. We will not over hype this moment, as our great NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis has said time and time again... under promise and over deliver.
Carnyland is not just one thing. And trust us, we've all been there... a lot.

When You Have A Serious Story Out There But the More "Well Known" News Sites Prefer To Do Lame Stuff Instead
This is a prime example of how the more 'well known' or, 'bigger' wrestling news sites deal with stories. When you have a serious story that was handed to them and they instead, go and milk every pointless WWE, AEW, etc story they can instead? It says a lot about them. Here's proof and since proof is a mother fucker. I again, will always, have the proof.
When there's serious story, about Combat Zone Wrestling, backed up by actual talents who worked for CZW..
The sory of course, can be found, right here.. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/05/combat-zone-wrestling-exposed-and-its.html
But then people including myself try to give the story to the other sites because it IS, a big deal.. Instead of WrestlingInc, PWInsider, Observer, etc covering it? The so called 'bigger, more well known" wrestling news sites prefer? To do lame stuff like this.

YYYEEAH I don't think millions of people give two shits about Matt Hardy 'mourning' a fucking drone..
Then, there's this gem too that's just 'SSOO much more important' to do over the CZW story.
Yeppers, yes indeedy, Paige showing off a new refrigerator is so damn earth shattering, so 'must see TV' so to speak, that this just HAS, to be more important than the allegations on CZW that's backed up by several people.. This story just "HAS" to be done before anything else, don't you know.. (Rolls eyes).
Nice to see that the more well known sites sure have their priorities in order, LOL.
Combat Zone Wrestling EXPOSED! And It's Not A Pretty Sight (Added Note To This 7-27-24 12:45pm)
An added note 7-27-24 12:45 pm.
Mike Johnson at PWInsider had a question in his Q&A about this promotion, here's a screengrab of that.
Sadly Mr. Johnson chose to put the blame on the pandemic and totally failed to mention (or simply blew off reporting) this major story that involved Combat Zone Wrestling. Someone should ask Mike Johnson why he chose to not mention the truth and simply brush the blame off on the pandemic. THIS is being 'professional', HOW?
Nothing like trying to avoid the truth, eh Mikey? What are you afraid of when it comes to mentioning this? That you won't get any of their wrestlers to do interviews for your site?
Not good when a 'major' journalist looks desperately for an easy way out for an answer and quickly takes it, over explaining real facts.
The screen shots say it all.
CZW made a statement last night and what follows is several former talent who use to work for CZW/DJ Hyde on how it was working for him.
CZW made a deal with Stonecutter Media to re-release their shows under new titles that sound like softcore porn such as “CZW Girls: All Assets Revealed” and “CZW Girlz: Top Heavy & Tough.”
Then you have this, fucking moron, chiming in. proving he really is, a dumb ass. Thanks for further proving that, dipshit.
MARTHA HART SAYS DARK SIDE OF THE RING WILL FINALLY TELL THE TRUE TALE OF OWEN HART'S DEATH, WWE'S LEAD ATTORNEY RESPONDS
Martha Hart was interviewed by CBS Sports' Brent Bookhouse in advance of tonight's season finale of Dark Side of the Ring on VICE TV, documenting the life and death of Owen Hart as well as the legal aftermath of Hart's passing in May 1999 after falling from the rafters of the Kemper Arena in Kansas City at the WWF Over the Edge PPV. The interview prompted a response from WWE's lead attorney Jerry McDevitt and can be read in complete form at this link.
Hart on how Dark Side of the Ring finally gets the true story of Owen's passing out: "I'm just one individual and the WWE is a PR powerhouse. They've always had the upper hand with getting their message and their side of things out. This episode really provided the opportunity to tell the real story and tell how I had the biggest fight of my life. It was a real David and Goliath battle and how awful they were to me and how disrespectful they were to Owen."
Hart on the Stunt that led to Owen's death: "First of all, the stunt itself was so negligent. They hired hackers they knew would do anything they wanted when they knew that proper riggers they had hired in the past had told them, 'We won't do this kind of stunt, it's not safe.' Everything about that stunt was done wrong. The entire set-up was wrong. The equipment was wrong -- the harness, for example, was meant for dragging people behind a car. It was a stunt harness, but it wasn't meant to suspend someone 80 feet above the ground. What was happening to Owen when he was sitting in that harness is, his circulation was getting cut off and he couldn't breathe. Then, the snap shackle that they used, that snap shackle is not meant for rigging humans. It's meant for the sole use of rigging sailboats. It's a sailboat clip that, by design, is meant to open on load. By the very design of the stunt, it was meant to fail, because the weight of Owen on that clip actually made it more likely it would open spontaneously. Proper riggers have a few things they would never do. First, they would never do a stunt without redundancy. That didn't happen; there was no redundancy. Second, they never, ever, let the talent have any control into the stunt. These guys were telling Owen, 'This cord taped here, don't pull it until you get to the ground.' That would never happen; proper riggers don't rig things this way. The other thing is, WWE is a billion-dollar company. Owen never questioned his safety. He thought for sure they were hiring people that knew what they were doing. He was putting his life in their hands, and they didn't care. They didn't have any regard for Owen's life whatsoever. They went outside of qualified riggers that had good experience."
Hart on WWE's reaction to Hart falling: "When Owen died, they scooped him out like a piece of garbage and they paraded wrestlers out to wrestle in a ring that had Owen's blood, where the boards were broken from Owen's fall and where the guys could feel the dip in the ring from where he fell. Just that disrespect and lack of respect for a human life that had just been lost. The fact that they didn't stop the show is just appalling. Vince McMahon was a poor leader, and he failed because that talent was looking for leadership and he failed them."
Jerry McDevitt's response to Martha's statement: "The reality is, we've never told our side of the story of what happened -- at least not outside of court. We told it in court, but when she talks about the way the lawsuit unfolded over the years, it really isn't accurate what she's saying. What she did whenever this happened is, she hired a lawyer in Kansas City who we caught essentially trying to fix the judicial selection process to get a judge that was more to their liking. We caught them and went all the way to the Missouri Supreme Court. The Missouri Supreme Court said, 'No, no, no. We're not going to let that happen.' They essentially appointed an independent judge to come in from outside of Kansas City to oversee the proceedings. We were basically trying to find out what happened that night. Martha was not even remotely interested in finding out what happened that night; she just wanted to used it as a vehicle to beat up a business that she didn't like that her husband was in, the wrestling business."
Hart on Not Allowing Owen into the WWE Hall of Fame: "There's always been this talk that, 'Oh, we want to put Owen in the Hall of Fame,' Their Hall of Fame? They don't even have a Hallway of Fame. It doesn't exist. There's nothing. It's a fake entity. There's nothing real or tangible. It's just an event they have to make money. They put it on TV and have a celebration, and it's just so ridiculous. I would never even entertain it. It's garbage."

VAN HAMMER RULED GUILTY IN DUI CASE, SENTENCED
Former WCW star Mark "Van Hammer" Hildreth, 60, plead guilty to one count of Driving Under the Influence, Causing Property Damage and Injury as part of a plea deal with Florida's Palm Beach County Court and has been sentenced to one year of probation, a one year suspension of his driver's license and having an interlock device place on his vehicle for one year as well.
Hildreth was also ruled guilty of leaving the scene of an accident while a charge of violating the speed zone was dismissed. The guilty plea was officially made on 4/29 as part of a plea agreement that saw Hildreth sentenced only on the DUI charge.
Hildreth's car struck a five-year old boy who was riding a bicycle on Sunday 1/26, throwing the boy atop Hildreth's car's hood, according to local police. The young boy was admitted as a trauma patient with possible internal injuries and "road rash."
According to the police report, Hildreth was driving driving near south Seacrest Boulevard and Southeast 34th Avenue when Hildreth's car struck the boy, who was riding his bicycle with his father. Hildreth allegedly got out of the car, stated the boy jumped out in front of him, then drove away. Another witness followed Hildreth to his home and identified him to police. The police report noted that Hildreth smelled of alcohol and refused to take a breathalyzer.
Hildreth was estimated to be doing 58 in a 35 mph zone, according to The Washington Times. He clipped the boy when his bicycle veered into the street. Eric Tilghman, an industrial door-installer who lives nearby, told the Times News he was driving with a friend Sunday when he saw the car strike the child. “The father picked up the son off the road The kid was crying. The dad was crying. The guy was out of the car.” Tilghman said, Then, he said, “I’m looking at the guy and he’s getting back in the car. We’re yelling at him, ‘Don’t you leave. Don’t you leave!’ ” Tilghman followed Hildreth after he left the scene of the crash, taking photos and following him home. Hildreth was taken into custody after being found sitting on his front steps.
During a January hearing, it was noted Hildreth had two previous DUIs in the past, one in Texas in 1985 and one in Georgia in 2004. He also has numerous traffic infractions in the State of Florida. Hildreth was ordered at the time to not to have contact with the victim or any potential witnesses, to make himself available to random testing for drugs and alcohol and that he not use any alcohol or drugs nor carry any illegal weapons on his person:
Hildreth was given four days' credit towards his one year probation for the four days he was incarcerated.
It was noted in court records that within the term of his probation, Hildreth must attend a victim's impact session, where he will learn of how DUIs have effected those who have been victims in such circumstances. It was also noted the victims in his case have been notified of the plea agreement and according to court records "are not seeking restitution."

SEARCH FOR SHAD GASPARD HAS BEEN SUSPENDED
Not sure how I myself feel about this, but if I was a member of Shad's family I'be really pissed off that they're suspending searching for the body. Must be nice to be able to make those kinds of decisions, knowing you're not a member of the family that has to deal, with those kind of decisions.
TMZ is reporting that the search efforts for Shad Gaspard have been suspended.
There remains still one boat still searching, according to the report, but the large-scale search has ceased.
Everyone at PWInsider.com sends our best wishes to Shad's family, friends and fans.
Shad Gaspard's family released the following statement last night - "Shad's family appreciates all the love, support, and concern through this horrible ordeal. At this time they are not ready to make any public or official statements to any media outlet And ask all to respect their wishes."
TMZ.com is reporting that former WWE star Shad Gaspard went missing yesterday afternoon after an incident while he was swimming with his son in Venice Beach, CA.
The TMZ report states that Gaspard and his son were among a group of swimmers caught in a strong rip current at 3:56 PM local time yesterday. TMZ is reporting that Gaspard asked that his ten year old son be rescued first by Baywatch lifeguards. His son was assisted by the lifeguards but Gaspard was not seen again after being hit by another big wave. Gaspard has not yet been found. A search continued until being called off at 7:30 PM last night, although periodic watch was kept from the shore. Underwater searching using sonar and divers as well as searches from the air via helicopter resumed this morning.
Gaspard's wife went public this morning on social media, asking to be contacted if anyone has seen him. Their son did not need to be hospitalized.
A native of Brooklyn, NY Gaspard, 39, was signed to a WWF developmental deal in 2002 after initially trying out for the second season of their MTV reality series Tough Enough. He didn't make the cut for the series but was given guidance about where to train, including time with Tom Prichard and Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker. Gaspard moved to Louisville, Kentucky, bouncing with other future WWE stars as they trained as pro wrestler and worked towards their mutual goal of getting a WWE deal.
Originally debuting as "Da Beast", a nickname that remained with him in pro wrestling forever, Gaspard worked as the bodyguard to perennial OVW heel manager Kenny Bolin and teamed with Carly Colon (Carlito). He was signed officially to a WWE developmental deal within a year of debuting. Gaspard was put together with The Neighborhoodie (more famously known now as JTG) as a team after Gaspard had a short feud with CM Punk in OVW.
The roots of Cryme Tyme was born in OVW with the team being called up in late 2006 with a series of vignettes that presented them as a fun-loving, over the top team that tapped into urban culture. They were an immediate hit as an act for live audiences, who loved their promos and energy as well as the team stealing items from heels to then give them away to fans in arena or "selling them off" in vignettes - stealing title belts, cars, clothing, etc. They were pushed hard, even teaming with John Cena and the act was easily getting over. Since they were from NYC, they would routinely get one of the biggest pops when they appeared in Madison Square Garden. The team was extremely popular, especially as a live act, everywhere for the company during that run.
The duo had two WWE runs as the team. Despite their popularity and merchandise sales, they were released in 2007 after having issues with Trevor Murdoch and Lance Cade, who they were rivals with inside and outside the ring. They returned in 2008 and were drafted to the Smackdown brand, challenging Big Show and Chris Jericho at Summerslam 2008 for the Smackdown Tag belts. In 2010, WWE opted to split the team with Gaspard turning heel, adopting a new look for a short feud with JTG before again departing. Truth be told, Gaspard never really had a chance to develop his singles persona enough to truly gauge whether it could have worked long-term.
Since leaving WWE, Gaspard has worked regularly as an actor and stuntman in theater, film and television and had written several projects that were in different stages of development for Hollywood. Gaspard had worked as a stuntman on the DC Comics Harley Quinn & The Birds of Prey film released earlier this year.
In 2016, Gaspard was credited with stopping a man intent on robbing a gas station when an armed man approached him as he was planning to rob the station. Gaspard disarmed the man and held him until police arrived.

Lio Rush Calls Out Mark Henry Over Previous Comments, And Henry Responds, And More
Lio Rush was among those who were released or furloughed by WWE last month due to business related changes from the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this week, Rush and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry had a back-and-forth on social media, stemming from comments Henry made in May of last year.
At the time, Rush was dealing with some backstage heat and Henry addressed it on Busted Open Radio, noting he attempted to help Rush, but felt lied to when he approached the former WWE Superstar.
"It's not a race issue, it's an ego issue," Henry said. "Who are you? Nobody is exempt from being respectful to the business and paying homage to the guys drawing money. We all have done it. Steve Austin did it, The Rock did it. You're better than The Rock? Get the hell out of here. ... I pulled him aside the last time I saw him and told him, 'I'm hearing stuff in the locker room, what's wrong?' He said nothing's wrong, but it was a blatant lie to my face. I let him know that if he has a question, right now is the time to do that."
Getting back to this week, Rush posted a more recent clip of Henry answering a question about what happened between himself and Rush. Henry said nothing happened aside from him "trying to navigate" Rush during his time in WWE.
"Hey @TheMarkHenry, this needs to be addressed," Rush commented in the caption. "Because you out here STILL lying on my name to this day."
Rush then posted a series of tweets addressing Henry and tagging him again on social media.
"Don't even know why I'm entertaining this," Rush wrote. "Keep my name in your mouth, if you please. You literally have nothing better to do then to continue to talk [s---] on a situation that happened over a year ago about a 25 year old who just lost his damn job. ... Sorry guys, but I've been holding my breathe for way too long. People like this need to get called out. It's sickening, it's disappointing and extremely discouraging. I love my fans and I pray that one day in the future the state of this kind of matter progresses. ... And this is why African American talent on the biggest platform will continue to not have equal opportunity because people like you constantly tear your own people down. A damn shame honestly."
Rush wanted to take the conversation to Busted Open Radio, Henry sent back the show's call-in number. Rush attempted to call-in, but said the number didn't work and a conversation didn't look to take place on the show.
In a video posted earlier today by TMZ Sports, Henry spoke more about Rush, saying he didn't appreciate Rush bringing race into the conversation in a attempt to get some buzz for his new album.
"The reason he came out with it now is because he knew I get a lot of attention and I have a lot of followers," Henry said of Rush bringing up his comments from last year. "He released an album — or a song, or something — and he wanted to use that to get some attention, get some buzz. Not mad at him, if he would have called me I would have done it anyways, we just would have worked it."
"But now, he said something slanderous, and you can't question my blackness. Nobody can pull my black card, no. Not allowed, nobody. If you go down to the Performance Center in NXT, probably 25, I think, people of color in the facility. Probably about 80-plus percent, I helped get them there. I mean, it's completely the opposite."
Henry then said he'd even considering legal action what he considered slanderous comments about him.
"For him to go there was absolutely was the worst possible thing he could have done," Henry stated. "It's one of those things if I take legal action for slander, then I will, but I'm not sure yet."
The interviewer then followed up asking if the former champion was really thinking of a lawsuit
"Yeah, this is too much, this is not a wrestling angle," Henry said. "This is him trying to get attention for himself."
Henry continued that he didn't want to go that route, noting it would cost both of them money, but he believes Rush owes him an apology.
"He needs to apologize and own up to the fact that 'I made a mistake, I embellished a little bit — a lot — and I was trying to get some buzz and I shouldn't have done that,'" Henry continued. "That's what he's going to have to do. ... He said that I'm a part of the problem. I'm one of those black people that try to keep other black people from making it. It's just hurtful."
Henry then noted current WWE Superstars who have picked up this story asked Henry if they should "go in" on Rush. Henry didn't want to go that route, instead saying he'll take "the high road."

SHOCKING DEPARTURE FROM WWE (?)
Last night on Friday Night Smackdown, Drew Gulak vs. Daniel Bryan was one of the most entertaining in-ring performances in recent memory on WWE Television. Today, however, I was confirmed that Gulak has exited World Wrestling Entertainment.
WWE quietly moved Gulak to the Alumni section of their website this afternoon but many people have been told that Gulak was not released. We have confirmed with multiple sources today that Gulak's WWE contract expired after last night's Smackdown was taped. We are told the two sides had been discussing a new deal, but had not yet come to terms on the deal before Gulak's existing deal expired. This shockingly places Gulak on the open market just hours after one of his best WWE performances to date as he would have no 90-day non-compete as WWE would not be paying him going forward, which means he can appear and wrestle anywhere immediately.
If you think it's a head-scratcher WWE allowed that to happen, you wouldn't be alone, especially since Gulak has evolved into one of WWE's most solid, understated, versatile performers. Something of a modern day Bobby Heenan, Gulak has been something of a chameleon, morphing into whatever role WWE required of him. Whether cast as a serious in-ring performer, a comedic character taking great bumps a la Heenan, being the in-ring glue of Cruiserweight and tag team matches, commentating on WWE TV, working as a manager/second to Daniel Bryan or any other role he's been tasked with, Gulak has quietly excelled.
In many ways, Gulak has been a true jack of all trades for the company, the talent who works as connective tissue, morph into whatever is asked of him. He accentuated everything he was involved in, even when Gulak's role was to get over everyone else instead of himself. That is a hard job in any environment, but whether he was cast as a serious in-ring wrestler or as someone's comedic foil, Gulak nailed whatever role that he's been asked to portray. That creates a value that makes the fact WWE allowed his deal to lapse incredibly mind-boggling.
Originally trained by Chris Hero and Mike Quackenbush, Gulak broke into the business in the early 2000s while still a Philadelphia college student, working for CZW, CHIKARA, PWG and host of other independent promotions. He soon became a cornerstone talent for EVOLVE, including an incredible series of matches with Biff Busick (aka Oney Lorcan). Gulak found himself on WWE's radar and was one of their first signings after the Cruiserweight Classic to help build the roster for 205 Live, where he held the Cruiserweight Championship.
While 205 Live never took off for a number of reasons, Gulak excelled and was eventually moved up to the Smackdown brand. After an excellent match at the 2020 Elimination Chamber in Philadelphia, Gulak and Daniel Bryan were placed together into a bromance built on their mutual respect for each other. The two began to train (as seen in some truly entertaining videos) and team with each other, while also occasionally facing off in the ring, as they did last night on Smackdown.
If Gulak's bout with Bryan is indeed his WWE swan song, it was a tremendous showcase for what Gulak can bring to the table, a great pure wrestling match that featured no strikes and neither even climbing the ropes. It was the 21st century equivalent of a mat classic from years ago.
Now, it's quite possible Gulak and WWE could come to terms on a new contract to bring him back to the company, but obviously he would also be a great addition to any other pro wrestling roster. With AEW, New Japan, Ring of Honor, etc. all out there, one would think Gulak will have quite a few options in front of him shortly.

THE FORMER REVIVAL RECEIVES CEASE & DESIST OVER 'THE REVOLT' NAME
There was unhappiness among some in the North Carolina wrestling scene over former WWE stars The Revival filing a trademark on the phrase "Free the Revolt" as part of their post-WWE branding efforts exploits as Caleb Konley (Mason Burnett) and Zane Riley (Matthew Riley) have been using the team name "The Revolt" for the last five years on the independent scene. A big part of the unhappiness originates from the fact that all four talents started out working in the same circles in the Carolinas.
A ten-page cease and desist letter sent by Andrew Gerber, an attorney representing Konley and Riley, dated 5/10, that was sent to the attorney representing the former Revival, Michael E. Dockins.
In arguing the team's position, the letter noted, “The Revolt are well-known in the independent professional wrestling circuit and are the current PWX World Tag Team Champions. Mr. Burnett and Mr. Riley sell a range of Revolt-branded merchandise including t-shirts, hats, and DVDs, as shown in Exhibit B. The Revolt has been their passion for years and they have literally put their blood and sweat into building The Revolt brand and connecting with their fans.”
Pointing out that the former WWE stars “have recently rebranded themselves as “The Revolt” and have begun using “The Revolt” and “Fear The Revolt” as trademarks in connection with professional wrestling entertainment and associated merchandise”, the letter argues that Cash Wheeler (the former Dash Wilder) declared under oath that, to the best of his knowledge and belief that, “no other persons... have the right to use the mark in commerce, either in the identical form or in such near resemblance as to be likely, when used on or in connection with the goods/services of such other persons, to cause confusion or mistake, or to deceive.”
The letter argues that in fact, all four of them know each other and that Konley and Riley, upon learning of the trademark filing, “tried to reach out as friends but were rebuffed. Dax [Note from Mike: the former Scott Dawson] and Cash may enjoy playing heels, but this is not the ring. They cannot steal their former friends’ intellectual property without consequence. Their conduct is not only unlawful, it is truly shameless that they would willfully steal a name from those that worked so hard to build it up.”
The letter also claimed that under United States trademark law, that the “senior user” of a trademark “has the exclusive right to use the mark, regardless of whether the mark has been registered” and since Konley and Riley have been using the Revolt name since 2015, they “are the true and exclusive owners of rights in the Revolt name.” The letter requested a response by 5/18 and warned that Riley and Konley could pursue additional legal remedies. It also included proof of the team using the Revolt name, including photos of merchandise, advertising utilizing the team name for independent wrestling events and DVD releases.
After acquiring the cease and desist letter, PWInsider.com approached Dockins seeking comment on the matter. This afternoon, we received a copy of his response to the cease and desist, dated 5/11, which makes the position of the former Revival clear and also states that the team’s new name is NOT The Revolt, but rather "FTR", which will mean different things at different times.
Dockins’ letter states that “there are a number of fundamental errors and flaws in not only what your clients have represented to you, but also in the allegations you have levied in your letter. First and foremost while our respective clients were acquaintances with one your clients and aware of his participation in the wrestling business, they are able and willing to testify under oath that they were not aware of and, at worst, have not recollection of ever knowing of your clients’ claimed rights in a REVOLT-inclusive trademark.”
Stating that Konley’s social media accounts did not even reference the “Revolt” name until after it was clear that the “Free the Revolt” trademark had been applied for and that he and Riley began “social media tirades” about the issue.
The response also claimed that the former Revival’s team name will not be “Fear the Revolt" as Dockins stated, “Secondly, our clients do not intend and have never intended to call themselves FEAR THE REVOLT. They have at all times and in every way made it clear that their tag team name would be FTR, and that FTR can and would mean different things depending on their storyline and creative. They are not responsible for and cannot be held responsible for dirt sheets and others incorrectly attributing to them a name other than the name they have chosen, FTR. In fact, when your client reached out to my clients “as friends” to resolve this matter they were informed that the tag team name is, was, and will be FTR and not REVOLT or THE REVOLT or FEAR THE REVOLT.”
All that said, however, Dockins made clear that FTR “respectfully disagree with your presumptive conclusion that use of the mark FEAR THE REVOLT creates a likelihood of confusion with and infringement of the mark THE REVOLT. Before addressing a likelihood of confusion analysis, we must first clear up what your clients claim as their mark. It appears that their use has been inconsistent and different from location to location. Such inconsistent uses could result in a finding that your clients have an unprotectable phantom mark or no rights in any mark whatsoever. In your letter you refer to the mark as THE REVOLT. In the evidence provided the mark is shown as THE REVOLT or REVOLT! or ¡REVOLT! or REVOLT.”
Dockins also explained that tag teams with similar names have always existed in professional wrestling, using The Midnight Express, The Rock N’ Roll Express and The Midnight Express as an example. The letter also pointed out the different usages of the word “Warrior” in professional wrestling over the years, from Ultimate Warrior to The Road Warriors and beyond and that none of those led to a confusion in the marketplace.
Dockin’ letter states that whether the former Revival move forward with the trademark filing of “Fear the Revolt” or not, the team “can and will continue” to use the phrase in a “descriptive form”, noting, “The entire purpose behind use of the word “revolt” and “fear the revolt” was a commentary on our clients’ departure from the WWE; they “revolted” against the establishment. As you may know, descriptive fair use permits use of another’s trademark to describe the user’s products or services, rather than as a trademark to indicate the source of the products or services. This usually is appropriate where the trademark concerned has a descriptive meaning in addition to its secondary meaning as a trademark. In this instance, the word “revolt” clearly has a descriptive meaning and may be freely used by our clients or anyone else in the wrestling business.”
Dockins also argued that even if the Trademark Office or a court of law found that there could be a likelihood of confusion, Zane and Riley could “best’ hope for a concurrent use proceeding, where the trademark would, in blue collar terms, be carved out for usage in certain States/markets for one entity claiming original ownership and others for the second entity.
Noting that the entire situation will require everyone involved to “spend considerable amounts of time and money” and that the money will only escalate over time. Dockins stated that the former Revival had previously offered to personally finance Riley and Konley’s own trademark filing for The Revolt name andin the letter Dockins himself also offered “to waive my fees, inclusive of the cost of a consent agreement, if one is necessary, to prosecute the application to registration. That by itself has a value of a number of thousands of dollars.”
Dockins’ letter also claimed that FTR would have been willing to even work The Revolt in the ring had the latter “not attempted to disparage our clients via social media", writing that FTR "would have discussed and been willing to work an angle with them on an independent show or two of their choosing. However they did not proceed in a manner benefiting friends and such accommodations are now off the table. At best, only uncertain results and legal fees are ahead.”
Dockins also pointed out that despite the back and forth and potential legal action, the “Fear the Revolt” trademark remains, a pending, unpublished trademark that has not yet even been used by the former Revival or anyone else in association with the team. Dockin’s letter closed, “If your clients are willing to discuss a reasonable and mutually-beneficial resolution, and one that includes a public apology to our clients, we will take it back to them for consideration.”
We have no confirmation that Konley and Riley's representation have responded to Dockins..
