MLW Stuff
Major League Wrestling has restructered their deal with Salina de la Renta, locking her in with the company for several more years. As part of the new deal, she will be working more in the front office. She had already been serving as a liason for MLW in Mexico with talent negotiations and will be learning the production end of the company. At only 22 years old, she's quickly propelled herself into one of the most important talents in the entire company.
Major League Wrestling has also signed Tristen Thai, a Johnny Rodz trainee who has worked for Beyond Wrestling, among other independent groups in the Northeast. There had been interest in him for some time after Court Bauer came across his work on social media platforms.
Another new MLW signing is slated to be revealed as soon as this Saturday's episode of MLW Fusion on BeIN Sports.
MLW Champion Tom Lawlor vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. is very likely for the future after the idea of that match received strong feedback from MLW fans.
MLW's website saw a huge surge in traffic after the announcement that they had signed Marshall and Ross Von Erich.
The Salina de la Renta-centic episode of MLW Fusion has done incredible numbers for the promotion on YouTube and may be on the way to being the top viewed MLW episode to date on that platform.

RHYNO EXPLAINS WHY HE'S LEAVING WWE
Former ECW World Champion Rhyno explained why he has chosen to leave WWE when his contract expires on 7/17 in a new interview with Chris Van Vliet.
Rhyno, 43, noted that WWE offered him more than double his current downside guarantee in order to remain with the company but he turned it down, saying it didn't guarantee he would be used and he wanted to work and be on the road.

Triple H had fans talking on social media this afternoon when he "liked" a fan tweet that was sent to Vince McMahon on why the WWE ratings might be down, and about how talents should have health insurance.
The fan wrote, "@VinceMcMahon maybe the problem with the Raw and SmackDown ratings isn't due to wrestlers injured, it's that you put confusing and pointless storylines. Although it wouldn't hurt if you gave your wrestlers insurance. Just a thought @StephMcMahon @TripleH @WWE"

The Humor Of Impact's Low Attendance At The 2300 Arena Continues, And Other Notes
Such a legendary arena in such a big city for a so called 'major event' with so much 'big name talent' and this was the best they could scrape up.
It's been noted that last night at Code Red pegged the Friday taping attendance at 350-400 (more than the estimate we received from multiple people) and Saturday at 450-500, which is about the same estimate. Code Red had in the 500-600 range last night.
Of course someone in Anthem Sports will boast and claim that that low attendance was a 'success' when the reality is, it isn't, it's fucking disappointing especially when the place can hold 1300 people in it. THAT.. Says it all about the product of Impact Wrestling right there and that they didn't something wrong when it came to the actual 'promoting' of the show. Half filled building for TV tapings and an event like Code Red shows that these 'changes' Callis has made isn't resulting in people buying tickets.
But of course you KNOW, they'll spin and avoid the obvious of that at all costs.
For LAX, the push to sign them by Impact to a new, long-term deal continues. It was apparent last night in NYC they were the most popular act on the show and are very much in a position where it's the right time and place for them as given the nuclear arms race to sign talents right now, they will very much be in demand. Last night was very much a homecoming for them and they had a lot of family members in attendance at Code Red.
Last night's iPPV was titled Code Red because the original plan for the United We Stand event last month over Wrestlemania weekend was for The Amazing Red to capture the X in the Ultimate X match and challenge Rich Swann for the title in his home promotion and building. Red announced on 4/1 that he has been advised by doctors that he needed to retire immediately. We are told it's a neck issue. Red was not at the show last night. Johnny Impact ended up with the Ultimate X match win instead.
The big talk of the locker room over the weekend was Sabu's performance at the TV taping this past Saturday in Philly, where he was on fire and worked like it was 1995. There was a moment in the six man tag he worked where Sabu hit an insane DDT and the entire Impact locker room exploded backstage. We are told that Sabu was very emotional backstage after the match as it was in the 2300 Arena and it was the highest profile match he's had in some time. We are told Sabu is not back with Impact full-time but the door is open for future appearances.
The 6/8 Philadelphia and 6/9 Long Island Impact iPPV and Twitch broadcasts are very much still House of Hardcore shows, with Impact talents appearing and Impact getting the broadcast rights for the show. They remain HOH events officially.

News About The ROH Creative Team
The ROH creative team is currently lead by Delirious (Hunter Johnston). Other members of the creative team include Bully Ray, Joey Mercury, Todd Sinclair, and Kevin Eck. There have been rumors that Delirious is losing power, but those rumors aren’t true. The same people who have been on the creative team for a long period of time are still in place. Everyone has a voice, but one source described Delirious as the Vince McMahon of the operation.
The only change recently to the creative team was that Joey Mercury was away for several months dealing with a legal matter, but he came back to his position at the beginning of the year when that matter was resolved. According to multiple sources, everyone has a voice on the creative team and Delirious often allows people to execute ideas some of which turn out to be good and some which turn out not to be good.
One of the reasons there has been a difference in the product is the addition of former WWE Creative Team member Dave Lagana as a producer. Lagana also produces for the NWA. According to multiple sources, Lagana has been a welcome addition to Ring of Honor as a producer. He’s not a member of the creative team, but his opinion is valued. The biggest thing that Lagana has brought to the table is being an extra body to the team capable of producing videos that execute Delirious’s vision. Lagana began producing videos for ROH in September of 2018, but began doing it full time in January.

She got a nice reaction from the crowd. She refused to shake hands before the match. Kay won the title by pinning Yamashita after “The Big D” discus lariat. She will now return home to the Detroit area with the title for SHINE’s debut in Michigan on 5/10/19 at the Knights of Columbus in Livonia.

"I sure do but I am married now so I can't talk about them on air. All of those Virginia towns were great because we loved Richmond, we loved Norfolk, Virginia, Virginia Beach is where we used to go to all of these clubs with the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair but I can't think of any one particular instance because we just had so much fun back in the day in Jim Crockett Promotions. We were flying around in the Falcon nine passenger jet, the G-18 (the big 30 seater) and we were living large and it was just a great time and I miss it but times goes on and you can't be young forever."

I was living in Myrtle Beach and bouncing at one of the hottest clubs on the beach at a club called Mother Fletchers and I also worked part time at the Myrtle Beach Hilton doing room service and he and I just happened to bump into each other. I was sort of living Ric Flair's gimmick on the beach and I was all jacked up and tanned, had long hair and I knew all of the prettiest local girls so I invited Ric, Greg Valentine and Blackjack Mulligan to a pool party at the Landmark Hotel. When they showed up there with about three of my female friends they all loved that kind of stuff. I was putting them over and we were all buying drinks so I invited them over to Mother Fletchers as the guest judges for the wet t-shirt contests so I kind of worked it and got myself over with them and got his (Flair) phone number and stuff and the rest is history."

I used to travel to the matches riding with Ric from Charleston and we'd go up to Richmond or wherever and he had me doing these hindu squats where on the first day it just about killed me but I worked up to where I could do about 500 without even breaking a sweat. So he and I would do the hindu squats before matches and all the old timers were loving that and would say that he's getting me trained right. They'd also go over holds and I remember Johnny Weaver giving me a seminar on how to crank the arm and also Swede Hansen was great to me and I remember working with him in the dressing room a lot. I didn't have a whole lot of ring workouts, maybe three of four but it was a great experience with Ric and Ric was like my idol and I idolized him."
Attendance At the 5/4 Impact TV tapings in Philly went from 200-250 TO.... (LMAO!)
The Saturday 5/4 Impact Wrestling taping drew in the area of 450-500 fans, up from the first night's taping at the 2300 Arena, which saw quite a few fans get upgraded to ringside in order to make the TV shoot look better. AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Still fucking pathetic that this is the best they can do in a wrestling town like Philly.. I can name a half dozen indy groups that draw better than this on a regular basis.

Konnan Talks WWE Not Listening To The Fans, Being Behind The Curve With Representing Minorities
Konnan talked with Alfred Konuwa of Forbes about WWE behind the curve when it comes to representing minorities and how they haven't done a good enough job of listening to the fans over the years.
In regards to WWE not listening to the fans, Konnan thinks it ultimately will hurt the company to ignore what the paying customer wants to see.
"A lot of people in [WWE] think fans don't know what's good for them," Konnan said. "I always remember thinking 'What do you mean they don't know what's good for them? They're not going to pay money to see something they don't like.' They know what they want to see, and a lot of times they would fight the fans, like 'This is what they want.' And I would think to myself 'No, they're telling you what they want!' They ignored them for a long time.
"Look at all the backlash they got when they wouldn't push CM Punk. Look at all the backlash they got when they wouldn't push Daniel Bryan. So, now what the people are doing is they're taking it out on WWE. So when people found out WWE wanted to push Roman Reigns, people turned their backs on him. They were like, 'You didn't give us what we wanted, then we're going to boo him every time he comes out,' even though he wasn't a bad wrestler."
With multiple weekly shows and a WWE Network that is packed with content, Konnan believed maybe it's just too much, or maybe it's just too much of what Vince McMahon wants.
"Somewhere along the way, [WWE] lost their way," Konnan continued. "I work in Mexico and I help put together a live show, but it's like a two-hour show and that's it. They're doing a three-hour show on Monday, and then a two-hour show and all that original content in WWE Ride Along and Table for 3. SmackDown is usually better because it's only two hours and their storylines are better. A lot of times, at the end of the day, it's what Vince McMahon wants, and it shouldn't be what he wants, it should be what the fans want."
When asked about WWE's ability to represent minorities, Konnan felt while they've improved as of late, WWE has always been more reactive instead of proactive.
[WWE] just did a lot of stuff with minorities that was very demeaning and stereotypical and they've always been behind the curve at that," Konnan said. "For a while, you just saw Latinos portrayed in one way, especially in WWE where there were coming out in lawnmowers or whatever the case may be. They kind of flipped the script when Alberto Del Rio came out, he was kind of an aristocrat. You never really see a Latino in that position. I think they're more inclusive than before, wrestling as a whole, but they've still got a long way to go."

Impact Wrestling announced last night that Japanese legend The Great Muta will be in action at their 6/8 live, streaming special "A Night You Can’t Mist", which will stream from Philadelphia, PA's 2300 Arena. It will be the first ever appearance of Muta in the legendary venue

The event will be done in conjunction with Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore, which had already been announced as running in Philly that evening with Dreamer, Rich Swann, Little Guido, Teddy Hart, Joey Ryan, Billy Gunn and more already advertised.
The show will air on Impact Plus, formerly the GWN App.

Last night's TV taping in Philadelphia drew in the area of 200-250 fans. (AAAHAHAHAHAHA!! LMAO! AALL that so called 'big name talent' and the best they can draw in the former ECW Arena is 200-250 fans? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! Their TV Taping with RVD vs Dreamer could only draw that many people? LMAO! This is funny as hell. Now before some wannabe smart ass comes out and says "Think you can do better"? I locally promoted a few shows before for not one but TWO different indy groups in New England and I DID do better. Two old timers and a clown drew wwaayy better so obviously Impact Wrestling needs to go to promoter school if that's the best they can do in a city like Philadelphia.
There's some unhappiness on the NWA's part on how things went down with Willie Mack. After news of his signing with Impact was announced, NWA Champion Nick Aldis took to Twitter to write, "If you ever wanted to see the evidence of scheming carny wrestling BS, look no further. Sorry Willie. They took advantage of you." Mack had been the NWA National Champion and was expected to work full-time with the NWA going forward. Going into the Crockett Cup, the promotion received a cease and desist letter from Lucha Underground informing them that they did not have the right to book Mack as contractually he was their talent. They were able to come to terms with Mack dropping the belt to Colt Cabana, which had been the plan all along. But, once Mack was announced as signing, the implication is that AAA, via Lucha Underground, insured Mack was delivered to Impact.
.Last night's episode of Impact is available on Impact Plus for international viewers. But much like its predecessor Global Wrestling Network, it is geo-locked in certain countries which include the United States, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. If the old rules from Global Wrestling Network are still in effect that would mean that episodes would be replayed on Twitch on Monday and be available on the streaming service by Tuesday for US viewers.

WALTER On Why He's Different From Most Wrestlers
WWE UK Champion WALTER recently spoke with The Daily Star and said he's different from 99% of other wrestlers because he won't let his emotions connect with anything to do with wrestling, as he focuses on just himself.
WALTER has held titles in at least 9 promotions across Europe, but he told The Daily Star that titles and accolades mean nothing to him because he instead finds meaning in his own performances.
"That's also the difference between me and 99% of my fellow wrestlers. My wife, family and friends they mean everything to me," WALTER said. "But when I'm in a Pro Wrestling environment, I'm focused on the task and in charge of my emotions, I won't let my emotions connect with anything I do in Pro Wrestling.
"What I had to do to achieve certain things - that makes me proud - proud of myself. Not a belt, company or being a part of something. I step in the ring for this sport and to restore the honor of it. To show the world that the purest form of pro wrestling is still the most efficient, I need to be in the top spot wherever I go."
The interview was done to promote the Title Unification match between WALTER, the PROGRESS World Champion, and Trent Seven, the PROGRESS Atlas Champion. The match will take place on May 5 in London, England at the PROGRESS Wrestling Super Strong Style 16 event. WALTER took shots at Seven and said he never believed he could achieve anything as a singles wrestler. He also commented on Seven's partners in British Strong Style - Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne. WALTER defeated Dunne to capture the WWE UK Title at NXT "Takeover: New York" last month, ending a 685-day reign.
"Looking back at it I always thought Trent Seven is the obvious bad influence for him," WALTER said of Bate. "If you compare them both, it's obvious that Tyler is the one who works harder. Trent is always running around backstage, cracking jokes, getting dressed very late and all those things. So I never believed that Trent Seven could achieve anything as a singles wrestler. It surprised me even to more to see him win the ATLAS Title and defend it with such commitment and passion. He has beaten some of the best, including my friend Timothy Thatcher.
"I respect Pete Dunne for his ability and skill - I think the audience in New York saw a competition with a level of intensity that can only be shown by people, that carry the spirit of Pro Wrestling in them. There are not a lot of colleagues left with this attribute - too bad Pete surrounds himself with people that [do not] take this sport serious enough."
New Impact Wrestling World Champion Brian Cage Pulled From Impact TV Tapings
It's been confirmed that new Impact Wrestling World Champion "The Machine" Brian Cagehas been pulled from this weekend's Impact TV tapings due to injury. Cage is currently at his home resting and recovering from an injury sustained at Impact's Rebellion pay-per-view last Sunday. This weekend's tapings will be taking place tonight and Saturday from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
We can also confirm that Cage may miss tapings beyond this weekend. Cage was also not at last Monday's tapings in Toronto.
There is currently no word about the status of the Impact Wrestling championship. Cage may hold the title for the time being until he returns, or Impact could produce an angle at the tapings this weekend to strip him of it.
Cage won the Impact Wrestling World Championship by defeating Johnny Impact this past Sunday night at Impact's Rebellion PPV. During the bout, Cage appeared to suffer a back injurywhile taking a Spanish Fly from the entrance ramp to the floor. Following the match, and subsequent powerbomb from Michael Elgin, Cage was rushed to a local emergency facility in Toronto.
"Right when we hit, I'm rolling and the pain shoots down through my leg," Cage told Busted Open Radio the following afternoon. "It's a feeling I've never had before in my life. I'm instantly thinking, 'ruptured disc or whatever. My back is f---ed, I'm going to have to have surgery or something.' Then I'm thinking, 'Maybe it'll go away,' and just trying to enter the ring after that moment, I'm bleeding and what not.
"Rolling into the ring, turning my hip over hip and trying to get up, I felt like there was no strength there and the pain shot down my leg again, and I'm like 'crap.' But it felt almost a little bit better, so maybe it will subside here in a second, like a flash thing. Then I think was in the corner and I evaded Johnny, and there was no movement, like, I couldn't. I felt so slow and robotic in my mannerisms and movement because of the pain."
At the time, Cage thought that he would not have to miss any action, however that is not the case.
"[The Doctor] goes, 'I think you're going to be fine, you have severe inflammation and a bone bruise, there could be a small fracture there," Cage said. "I would like to rule that out, however, if there is a fracture, I don't seeing it being any major fracture. Even then, you can't do much more for that, just err on the side of caution."
