Promising an appearance from newly crowned AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, Impact Wrestling averaged 221,000 viewers on AXS TV on Tuesday night, up 33 percent from last week.
Impact drew a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demo, finishing 96th on cable for the night in that category. The previous week's Impact episode drew a 0.05 rating in the 18-49 demo and was 121st for the night.
96th? BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, it sure helped Impact out that that appearance, NOT!
And yes, There were like 80,000 viewers on Twitch as well.
In the end, the appearance wasn't much to write home about and is considered a bomb.
In four weeks when the ratings for Impact are STILL the same? Remember me saying "I told you so", because I will indeed be saying... I told you so.

Impact Wrestling Co-Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore took to Twitter and fired a shot at WWE RAW this morning, while plugging the new working relationship between AEW and Impact.
But let's tell the truth here, since others like PWInsider, WrestlingInc and Meltzer won't do it. Shall we?
Mention the name "Impact Wrestling" and most fans start laughing. They know like I know, it's considered a 'joke' in wrestling when it comes to ahem, 'major wrestling companies'. Apparently the only person whom doesn't seem to realize this, or maybe doesn't WANT to realize it, is Mr. D'Amore.
"Back to back nights of great Pro Wrestling'? Where? I know there was a real solid wrestling show on Last night, and it sure as hell wasn't Impact, AEW or even WWE.. Oh that's right, it was the NWA's Shockwave show. Of course nobody wants to come out and admit THAT fact, right? Of course not. It's okay, I went ahead and did it for you.
Let's be serious, the only way Impact was able to secure a 'TV Deal' was having the owners of Impact, buy AXS TV, they had to BUY a network because no other network wanted them. Last week they barely had 150,000 people even watching them. And thaey rarely get that many. THAT, is how bad Impact's product is. And I've covered how bad it's been since D'Amore and Don Callis took over as bookers for Impact. Callis claimed that he was going to get rid of the 'silliness' that has plagued Impact Wrestling and doesn't Impact to be 'WWE Lite". But the fact is, He hasn't and every time he's been called out on how can he get rid of the 'silliness' if he's the one now writing and booking the silliness... Funny how he has no answer to that.

So yeah why Impact is considered almost as much of a joke as Jeff Jarrett's Global Wrestling Federation was.. Oh wait, wasn't Impact part of THAT fiasco too? They sure were, LMAO!
Other than EC3 bouncing in and out "controlling his narrative", which actually seems to be getting over better, in Ring Of Honor mind you.. The only other talent they 'had', that had me kinda keeping track, is someone who isn't even there anymore and legitimately stole their world title and is living in Mexico- Tessa Blanchard.
But of course, the AEW fanboys, and the "Meltzer Marks" who think Kenny Omega is the be all and end all (when he really isn't) will be the only ones fawning over all this between AEW and Impact. I'm like most of the real fans out there, just yawning and waiting for some actual wrestling action to actually show up, on AEW or Impact.. or even WWE for that matter.
"Shift in power"? Yeah.. No.. Not really, nice try though Scottyboy, nice try.
Until AEW actually has some product that doesn't involve brawling all over the place in almost every match, that includes a very high level of 'no selling', and Impact actually stops with the well proven that the silliness is still plaguing them silliness, this 'working' agreement is gonna continue to be lame, and won't move the needle much in the long term.
The honest truth here, and no other wrestling writer has the balls to say it, so I will.. Is AEW and Impact, have people 'booking' their shows who have never booked a fucking thing in their life, and they actually think they're GOOD at it (which is laughable in so many ways, for so many reasons). It shows in the product and unfortunately marks today have no real clue on what IS good, and consider what Impact, AEW and WWE as 'good' when it's really? The shits.
So there's no 'shift in power' here, and four months from now when the product in both Impact and AEW still suck? You can go ahead and imagine me saying "I told you so", because I will indeed, be writing, that I told you so.
If you REALLY, want some great wrestling action, Reality Of Wrestling has been putting out a solid product for years, The recent United Wrestling Network stuff has been very good, Championship Wrestling From Hollywood, the last two NWA Shockwave shows.. Even Ring Of Honor's product, along with what I've already listed.. Has blown away anything and just about everything AEW, Impact and especially WWE have had to offer in months.

Retired professional wrestler Killer Khan, who feuded with Andre the Giant in the WWF and had runs in Canada's Stampede Wrestling as well as World Class, Georgia Championship Wrestling and other promotions in the 1980s, has been accused of a hit and run this past October.
Khan, 73, allegedly struck a woman who was writing a bike in the Hyakunincho area of Tokyo, then allegedly fled the scene. Security cameras revealed it was Khan, who owns a nearby restaurant. Khan allegedly told investigators he left because he had to get to his restaurant.
The woman suffered a broken tooth in the accident and other injuries that took about a month to heal, according to the report.
Khan, who has apologized for the woman's injuries, has been charged "with suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Law regarding hit-and-run and negligence resulting in injury."
Khan last regularly wrestled in the late 1980s for the WWF, a heel run where he spewed green mist and was managed by Mr. Fuji. He departed the company in 1987.
A number of the lawsuits filed by Joseph R. Meehan, known professionally in the world of pro wrestling as Joey Ryan, have been all been referred to the Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald and Magistrate Judge, Charles F. Eick under the United States District Court, Central Division of California; Western Division, Los Angeles.
As previously reported by PWInsider.com, Meehan has filed numerous lawsuits in recent months, all denying any claims of sexual assault against him and alleging that the women who made the claims used social media postings to defame him, hurting his ability to make money as a professional wrestler through his performances, merchandise, Patreon account, the loss of his Bar Wrestling independent wrestling promotion, his Twitch channel and Cameo video messaging. In many of these lawsuits, Ryan is seeking sizable monetary damages.
On 12/7, the court ordered Meehan to show why the legal actions should be continued and not dismissed for "lack of prosecution", which basically means a lack of movement in the cases. In many of the cases, but not all (former ROH star Pelle Primeau being the exception), there has been no response from the defendants or even a court record that the defendants have been successfully served.
Meehan's attorneys have until 12/29 to file pleadings in an attempt to convince the court the lawsuits should continue. Should the defendants respond in court, that would also provide the court with a reason to allow the lawsuits to continue. Meehan could also file for a default judgment, which should the court grant it, could allow Meehan to legally go for whatever damages the court rules in favor of.
If none of that happens, Meehan's lawsuits before the court could be dismissed.

WWE Raw star Matt Riddle filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit brought against him by Samantha Tavel (who wrestles as Candy Cartwright) before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division on 12/3.
Tavel filed a lawsuit in October against Riddle, World Wrestling Entertainment, the now-defunct EVOLVE promotion and Gabe Sapolsky, seeking $10 million from each defendant, stemming from Tavel's allegations, which initially became public during the Speaking Out movement online during the summer of 2020, claiming Riddle allegedly choked and forced her to perform oral sex on him in May 2018. Tavel's lawsuit stated the incident took place on a bus that was leaving EVOLVE 104 in Summit, Illinois, hence the lawsuit was being filed before Cook County Court. It also alleges that Riddle effectively prevented her from being able to be booked for WWE dates.
In the filing, Riddle stated that he and Tavel entered into an extra-marital affair in April 2017 after meeting while performing for EVOLVE at an event in New York City. They continued to maintain that relationship until Riddle's wife learned of it, at which point, Riddle claims he ended his relationship with Tavel. In his filing Riddle alleges, "Ms. Tavel had a hard time accepting the end of the relationship, and Mr. Riddle changed his telephone number more than once to avoid her calls. Mr. Riddle had no control over any employment relationship Ms. Tavel had with Evolve or WWE."
Tavel remained working for EVOLVE in some fashion until the promotion shut down in the wake of financial losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic leading to the cancellation of their Tampa, Florida events Wrestlemania 36 weekend. WWE purchased the assets of EVOLVE, Inc., including its tape library.
In regard to Tavel's accusations, Riddle's filing, as you might imagine, denied any wrongdoing on his part, stating, "Mr. Riddle emphatically denies Ms. Tavel’s torrid tale. He and Ms. Tavel had a nearly three-year affair during which they engaged only in consensual sexual activity. In July 2019, Mr. Riddle ended the affair after his wife learned of the relationship. In June 2020, Ms. Tavel tweeted an accusation that he sexually assaulted her in a van while other wrestlers were asleep."
Riddle's motion claims that Tavel's lawsuit should be dismissed because it fails to establish that the Circuit Court of Cook Count has jurisdiction over Riddle to begin with and that Tavel's specific allegations also fail to meet federal pleading requirements that bring them beyond speculation. Riddle's attorneys argue that the lawsuit fails to claim that Riddle's, "allegedly tortious activities were purposefully directed at residents of the forum" as Tavel is not and has never been a resident of Illinois. Riddle's attorneys also argued that since he does not live or own property in Illinois, he cannot fall under their jurisdiction.
The motion to dismiss also argues that while Riddle was in Illinois performing for EVOLVE and that the alleged incident happened "on a bus leaving" the venue, therefore those duties would have been completed by the time he was alleged to have assaulted Tavel, so any professional connection to the State of Illinois had been completed. It also claimed that Tavel cannnot claim any connection to her "alleged injuries" (from Riddle's alleged sexual assault against her) and the State of Illinois. For all those reasons, Riddle's attorneys are claiming the lawsuit against him should be thrown out, as they are not strong enough under Illinois law to move forward and that neither party should fall under Illinois jurisdiction in court.
The filing makes mention of two different alleged incidents:
"Ms. Tavel pleads two specific alleged assaults – one in April 2017 and one on May 19, 2018 – but no facts that tie these alleged injuries to Illinois."
The April 2017 alleged incident is referenced in Riddle's motion, noting, "Mr. Riddle believe t[The April 2017] allegation refers to a consensual sexual encounter the couple had in a car on or about April 23, 2017 in New York City after an Evolve event. Mr. Riddle was not in Illinois in April 2017 and did not purposefully direct his activities at any Illinois residents in April 2017."
Riddle also specifically responds to Tavel's allegations that he assaulted her on 5/19/18 in Illinois following the EVOLVE 104 event. In response, Riddle stated that he did perform that evening at EVOLVE 104 in Illinois and that Tavel was at the event as well. Riddle stated that a videographer named Joseph M. Ranta transported numerous performers from the venue to their hotel in Michigan in his van (Tavel's claims have made reference to a bus, but her initial Tweet referred to a van with sleeping EVOLVE wrestlers), as there was another EVOLVE event in Livonia, Michigan the next day.
Riddle's response featured an affidavit filed by Ranta as well as photos of the exterior and interior of his van.
Ranta's affidavit stated that on the evening in question, then-EVOLVE talents Keith Lee, Anthony Henry and JD Drake were also in the van with Drake sitting in the front passenger seat, Henry and Lee in the center seats and Riddle and Tavel in the back seats.
The records from Ranta's GPS on the evening in question were also filed as evidence, noting they left the Summit Park District in IL on 5/20/18 IL at 12:26 AM, They stopped for gas and left that gas station at 12:34 AM, then drove 33 miles to a Denny's Restaurant, arriving in Portage, Indiana at 1:22 AM (48 minutes later), stating that they entered Indiana 36 minutes into their drive, around 1:10 AM. Ranta's affidavit stated that out of all the passengers, only Keith Lee fell asleep during the drive to Denny's and that the other four passengers were awake.
Ranta's affidavit then states everyone exited the Denny's at 2:35 AM, driving 2 hours, 37 minutes to Ranta's home in Mason, Michigan. Ranta stated that Drake, Lee and Henry had all fallen asleep during that drive, with himself, Riddle and Tavel all being awake the entire ride. Ranta stated he, Tavel and Riddle spent 12 minutes at Ranta's home before he drove everyone to The Comfort Inn Metro Airport near Detroit, Michigan where the wrestlers were staying. The affidavit does not mention that any alleged assault took place, but also does not deny one happened.
Riddle's filing featured the following claim, attempting to state that if any inicident even happened, it most likely did not transpire in Illinois:
Based on Mr. Ranta’s GPS and Ms. Tavel’s June 19, 2020 Twitter post, the earliest time the assault could have occurred was during the 2.5-hour drive between the Denny’s in Portage, Indiana, and Mr. Ranta’s residence in Mason, Michigan. Therefore, it is impossible to state a claim under the IGVA for violence that did not arise in Illinois between nonresidents of Illinois.
Riddle's filing also claimed:
Even drawing the facts in a light most favorable to Ms. Tavel, the May 19, 2018 assault is inherently implausible and her right to relief is speculative at best. Mohammed v. Sidecar Technologies, Inc., No. 16 C 2538, 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 156090, at *20 (N.D. Ill. Nov. 10, 2016) (dismissing claim where court could not draw reasonable inference that defendant violated the statute based on conclusory and speculative allegations). It is implausible that Mr. Riddle would ask to engage in sexual intercourse “in front of other members of Evolve while on a bus,” immediately after performing at a wrestling event, without any witnesses in a small but full vehicle. If that did happen, no matter the size of the vehicle, surely, someone would have noticed the assault and said something. Count I does not plausibly state a claim, and it should be dismissed.
Riddle is seeking a dismissal of the case.
While Tavel's lawsuit was initially filed before Cook County in Illinois, World Wrestling Entertainment successfully moved to have the lawsuit removed to the Northern District of Illinois. WWE has argued that Matt Riddle was not under contract to them at the time (he signed in July 2018 after New Japan Pro Wrestling showed interest in booking him) and that they had no overview or involvement in the EVOLVE events that weekend.
It does not appear that Sapolsky or EVOLVE have responded to the lawsuit before the court as of this writing.
Joseph R. Meehan, known professionally in the world of pro wrestling as Joey Ryan, filed a request for a summary judgment against Impact Wrestling parent company Anthem Wrestling LLC before the Circuit Court of Davidson County, TN on 11/27, alleging that Anthem took too long to respond to his lawsuit alleging that the company breached his contract when they released him in the wake of a number of allegations voiced against him on social media.
In a filing dated 11/27, Meehan requests judgment in his favor, citing that Anthem was officially served with the lawsuit on 9/24, later requested and received an additional 30 days to respond, but failed to do so in a timely manner. Anthem responded to the lawsuit on 12/4.
In their response, Anthem denied all of Meehan's allegations against them, arguing that his contract indeed ran through August 2021 "unless earlier terminated", claimed that Ryan "misstates" the contents of his exhibits including his Impact contract, that Impact commented publicly about Ryan's exit "so that Anthem's audience would not expect immediate appearances by Plaintiff at wrestling events produced by Anthem", denied that they breached the terms of his deal.
However, claiming Anthem ran over thirty days past their extension before filing their response, Meehan's attorney is arguing that since the company is "not an incompetent or a minor" but "failed and refused to answer" the lawsuit in a timely fashion, therefore Anthem is in default under the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure and there is "no reason to delay in entry of a Final Judgment" under those rules.
In his five-page lawsuit filed in the Circuit Court of Davidson County, TN on 9/15 against Anthem Wrestling, Ryan sought a $10 million dollar judgment, stating that he signed a contract on 9/1/19 that was slated to run through 8/31/21 but that the contract was breached when Impact Wrestling Executive Scott D’Amore emailed Meehan on 6/22 to inform him that the company was no longer going to be booking him due to "recent allegations" and that Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC/IMPACT Wrestling would be "making a public statement to this effect shortly."
Following that email, Meehan received a formal release notice (signed by Anthem Wrestling President Ed Nordholm) the same day (6/22), notifying him that the end of his contract was being “amended” to 6/22/20, thereby releasing him. That was followed by a public statement made by the company that they had terminated Meehan.
Meehan’s lawsuit did not divulge the reasoning as to why he was released by the company, instead focusing on the allegations that Anthem Wrestling breached its contract with him via the following:
-Anthem Wrestling "failed to perform as guaranteed in the express language of the Contract by failing to follow and abide by the terms prescribed in Article VIII. Term and Termination."
-Anthem Wrestling "failed to perform as guaranteed by failing to adhere to the express terms prescribed in Section 8.03 (a)-(i)
Meehan’s filing included a copy of his 23-page contract with the company. The aforementioned section is titled "Termination by Promoter in the Event of Breach" and noted, "Promoter shall have the right, in its sole discretion to terminate this Agreement, or suspend this Agreement for up to 3 months, both as to services and compensation.”
The section then specifically listed a number of potential causes for action to be taken by the company against a talent, including a sub-section that features the following language:
(g) Wrestler commits any act with Promoter believes, in its reasonable business judgment, would damage Wrestler's or Promoter's reputation and/or that of its affiliate, licensees, or assigns or otherwise damages the value or integrity of the Programs, the Works or the Merchandise of which could subject Wrestler to criminal prosecution;
(h) Wrestler commits any act (other than in character in accordance with direction provided to Wrestler by Promoter's Creative team) which places or could place Wrestler or Promoter (or any of its affiliates) in a patently negative light; or
(i) Any instance of a violation for which Wrestler has already received a warning, reprimand or notification therof, provided, however, that in the case of a breach under paragraphs (a), (b), (f), (g),or (h), Promoter shall provide Wrestler with written notice of breach and a 5 day cure period. If the Wrestler is unable to cure such breach after the expiration of the foregoing cure period despite the exercise of diligent efforts to cure same, then the Parties shall make good faith efforts for a period of not less than thirty (30) days to work together in good faith to resolve the matter, failing which Promoter shall be entitled to terminate this Agreement upon the expiry of such additional thirty (30) day period. In the event of the suspension and/or termination of the Term of this Agreement (or promoter's obligations hereunder) Promoter shall have no further obligation to Wrestler hereunder (during such suspension and/or following such termination, as applicable) subject only to Promoter's obligation to pay royalties and to compensate Wrestler for services fully performers prior to the date of termination. Promoter shall not be deemed to be in breach of any of its obligations under this Agreement unless and until Promoter shall have received written notice from Wrestler (specifying in detail the alleged breach and making specific reference to this paragraph and shall have failed to cure such alleged breach within thirty (30) days thereof."
Since Meehan’s lawsuit specifically points to this section of the contract, it would appear he is arguing that if Impact Wrestling felt he breached their contract agreement with him, by the letter of the agreement both sides entered, they should have informed him of the issue in writing and given him a five day period in which to resolve the issue they feel he breached. Then, if he was unable to do so, the parties would have thirty days to attempt to work out a resolution before Impact would have had the actual right to terminate Meehan’s contract with the company. By not following that procedure, Meehan is alleging that due to Anthem Wrestling's actions, he has suffered "substantial monetary damage to his income, as well as damage to his reputation."
As noted, Meehan is seeking a judgment of ten million dollars against Anthem due to damages "he has suffered, which were caused by the Defendant's actions." He is also requesting he be "awarded reasonable attorney fees for the prosecution of this cause" and that the all costs be covered by the Defendant, Anthem Wrestling. He is also asking for any other "further and general relief" the Court may rule he is entitled.
Meehan was the subject of numerous accusations during the #SpeakingOut movement on Twitter over the summer of 2020. Meehan’s work as a professional wrestler and independent wrestling promoter halted when the allegations first came to light. Meehan did answer some of the claims in a now-deleted YouTube video. He is not known to have, as of this writing, been criminally charged in relation to any of the accusations, which could be a sticking point in his breach claim against Impact.

New AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has been officially announced for Tuesday's Impact Wrestling episode on AXS TV, even though it'sa been all over social media since Wednesday night. DDUUHH!
The Impact Twitter account announced tonight that Omega and Impact Co-Vice President Don Callis will be appearing on Tuesday's show. This will be Omega's debut for the company and his first appearance on any show since winning the title from Jon Moxley on this Wednesday's "Winter Is Coming" edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT.
Yet, Callis alluded to it on Wednesday Night's Dynamite, and every wrestling news site picked up on it, along with it being the talk all over FB and Twitter.. So why even bother to announce what was already obvious?
Instead of announcing it for nthe whole world to know, why didn't they just have Omega 'show up' on Impact, with no announcement instead? THAT would've been more of a 'surprise' moment' than making it so obvious. Gues when it comes down to proper booking for a hot angle, People like Callis and Impact just can't get it right.. or maybe they just don't WANT TO, get it right.
New AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, who also serves as an EVP for AEW, has responded to a fan on Twitter who believes that an executive of a wrestling company should not hold the top championship.
The fan cited the example of Triple H, who serves as Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development for the WWE. Triple H last held the WWE Championship by winning the 2016 Royal Rumble match in which Roman Reigns defended the title.
"Hold up. Can someone tell me why The EXCEUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF AEW @KennyOmegamanX is AEW World Champion. If this was triple h people would be in an uproar. But Because its @AEW they are allowed to get away with it? Hell No," tweeted the fan.
In response, Omega said, "You've got it all wrong. I'm just a lowly Executive Best Wrestler of all time. That's kinda why I win everything everywhere. That's how life works."
When the fan reiterated that someone in power should not be a world champion, Omega said, "The only power I have is to make you cry."
As noted, Omega has been officially announced for Tuesday's Impact Wrestling episode on AXS TV. This will be Omega's first appearance on any show since winning the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley on this Wednesday's "Winter Is Coming" edition of AEW Dynamite.
I love how Omega doesn't even TRY, to hide it. Person in power makes him world champion? HHMM, how many times have we've seen THAT happen before? But remember, AEW is supposed to be the, ahem ahem.. "Alternative" to WWE.. But yet they continue to do the very same things WWE does. What a fucking irony, eh?
The least Omega could've done was to provide SOME SORT of an explanation, storyline or otherwise, to cover up the fact this obvious fact was brought up, But NNOO, Omega simply isn't smart enough to even do that, apparently. It was the same thing when Cody won the TNT Championship and for weeks "Triple H'd" it by no selling and not helping to get anyone over when he held that title (Though he sure complained when WWE didn't help get HIM over, HHMMM).
And yes, if Triple H would be any champion right now, the uproar would be endless, but since it's AEW, the AEW marks conveniently 'look the other way', as usual.
Oh and before I forget, Omega.. Isn't the best wrestler of all time, contrary to what Dave Meltzer and the "Meltzer Marks' like to think. I can name half a dozen wrestler that aren't even IN, AEW, WWE Or Impact, that are better than him. Truth is a mother fucker and at least someone.. Me, has the balls to tell that truth.

The WWE Hall of Famer passed away at the age of 79 this past Wednesday morning. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported new details on Patterson's condition leading up to his passing, noting that he had also suffered from dementia in recent years.
Patterson attended the funeral for WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson earlier this year and it was said that others were saddened by his behavior as the dementia had gotten bad by that point. Regarding his fight with cancer, Patterson first contracted bladder cancer several years ago and he was recently said to be in bad shape, as he had moved to an assisted living arrangement.
Patterson generally spent his summers in his native Montreal, and then spent his winters in Hallandale, Florida, but with the COVID-19 pandemic and his memory fading, he was "pretty much confined" to his place in South Florida.
Patterson remained close with former WWE Superstar Sylvain Grenier, who met Patterson shortly after his own father died. Patterson became like a father figure to Grenier and the two were so close that Grenier had power-of-attorney for Patterson. WWE announced back in January of this year that Grenier had returned to work for the company as a producer. Grenier went to visit Patterson last month in Florida and was concerned after noticing he had lost around 60 pounds. Grenier got Patterson to the hospital and a tumor on his lung was discovered. Patterson had been scheduled for a biopsy on Friday, December 4 to see if the tumor was cancerous, but that never happened as he passed away on Wednesday morning.
Patterson was rushed to a South Beach, Miami hospital on Friday, November 27 after he suffered a blood clot in his liver. The tumor had also began to spread. Shortly after that, Grenier, who had went back home to Montreal, was told to come back to Florida if he wanted to see Patterson again. However, Patterson was said to be "out of it" by the time Grenier got back to Florida. Grenier stayed to be with Patterson but due to the pandemic he wasn't allowed to spend much time in the hospital.
Patterson passed away in the South Beach hospital at around 1:15am on Wednesday, December 2, officially due to liver failure. It was noted that there is a very good chance that he had cancer, which led to other problems.
Bertrand Hebert, who was close to Patterson and wrote his "Accepted" autobiography back in 2016, told The Observer that Patterson loved his life.
"Four years ago he told me he had a great life and had done everything he dreamt of as a kid sleeping in the closet and more," Hebert said. "He was ready to go whenever he would get called up. He had loved his life."
The relaunched North American Wrestling Alliance promotion run by Tony Capone will officially return on Saturday 12/19 iPPV, "Jingle Brawl" from Daytona Beach, Florida on 12/19, also airing FITE.TV from Daytona Beach, Florida.
The event will feature a Hercules Cup in tribute to the late Ray Fernandez aka Hercules Hernandez who worked for the promotion during its original tenure in the 1990s and was extremely close with Paul Roma, who works behind the scenes as an exec here and teamed with Hernandez as Power and Glory. Hernandez, who had runs in the WWF, WCW and tons of territories, passed away in March 2004. The promotion has crafted a special Hercules Championship belt for the victor.

Washington is well known as Las Vegas-based independent professional wrestler Owen Travers, who last wrestled this past March. In recent years, he had been a regular for Future Stars of Wrestling in Las Vegas in the ring and behind the scenes but had been cut off by the promotion months ago amidst rumors of a legal issue, which obviously has been confirmed by his arrest.
Court records indicate Washington has been charged with several counts of sexual assault against a child under the age of 16, lewdness with a child under the age of 14 and lewd acts committed by personal over 18 with a child 14-15 years of age. He is scheduled to appear in court on 12/17.
Washington originally broke into the business in the Mid-West under Truth Martini in 2013, but had been Southwestern-based in recent years. He worked enhancement matches in the past for WWE and Impact Wrestling and in 2015, received a Ring of Honor tryout but was not hired.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. failed to advance in tonight’s Opera Cup. What’s his status with MLW?
CB: Davey Boy’s exit in the opening round of the Opera Cup marks the end of this chapter for DBS in MLW. I have immense gratitude for (Davey) and his contributions inside the MLW ring over the past 2 ½ years. The MLW system was a great fit for him. Winning the 2019 Opera Cup as well as his run as a World Tag Team Champions. A real certified beast. Davey Boy Smith Jr. is the real deal and I wish him luck with whatever comes next.
With Davey's spot on the roster opening up, there will be a familiar face arriving soon to fill it. I'm a little surprised it hasn't leaked yet. This one is a big surprise.
How will the semi-finals work?
One semi-final match per week. Next week it will kick off with Low Ki and (Richard) Holliday.
Can we expect to see Laredo Kid again in MLW?
Yes, Laredo (Kid) is going to be in the mix on a regular basis. We may even see the AAA title defended.
Any further comment on the promotion MLW is in talks with that you alluded to earlier this week on Twitter?
(Laughs) Which one? In all seriousness, I think we all see a world war of sorts brewing. I can’t say anything right now but hope to be able to say a lot more before the end of the year. We’ll see.
Can you tell us how Mads Krügger figures into MLW moving forward?
With The Restart signaling the return of MLW, CONTRA needed to revamp and I think that starts with Mads Krügger. That’s a pretty impressive deterrent and weapon.
What are the numbers like thus far for FUSION?
Fubo is very happy and we were once again at the top (of the ratings) for beIN. On YouTube we’re way up compared to where we left off in the Spring. We’re waiting on DAZN data for episode 111 but the restart episode destroyed all of our prior episodes in terms of viewers.
In a nutshell: we’re growing and getting more eyes on the product. But I’m never satisfied with what we just accomplished. I want more, which is why we’re continuing to talk with different networks and services about expanding our programming footprint domestically and abroad. More eyes, more awareness. This is my mantra.
Can you share who you’re in talks with?
No, but I will say we’re pretty deep in talks in the cable and streaming space. If and when a deal gets done, we won’t be shy about sharing the details then.
When do you expect Hammerstone back in the ring?
We hope to know more on that in the next week or two. Hammer wants back in yesterday. If it was up to Hammer, he’d just power through it and be in the ring every week.
What’s the status of the Lio Rush/Myron Reed championship match?
We’re working on it. Lio’s team feels very strongly about certain terms being met. Again, we’re working on it.
When is the next big special?

The former WCW and WWE star made his AEW debut on Wednesday's Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite, coming out to the ring as Team Taz was beating down TNT Champion Darby Allin, Cody Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, and Arn Anderson following a tag team match.
As the beatdown was happening, Daily's Place went black and images of frozen landscapes appeared on the big screens. Sting then emerged, painted up and dressed as the classic "Crow" version of his character, complete with baseball bat and new AEW t-shirt.
He then walked around the ring and stared at Anderson, Cody Rhodes, and Allin before walking to the back as snow fell on the set. This was his first appearance on TNT since the final episode of WCW Monday NItro 18 years ago.
Following the commercial break, Jim Ross announced that Tony Khan signed Sting to a full time, multi-year contract. It was later announced he will speak on next week's Dynamite.

Patterson, whose real name was Pierre Clermont, was rushed to the hospital on November 27 with a blood clot in his liver.
Patterson, like his most famous tag team partner Ray Stevens, had a natural knack at working in the ring. He could work face or heel, was one of the great tag team wrestlers who ever lived, and was the top singles star in Northern California from 1972 to 1977.
He'll get a lot of headlines for being the first openly gay wrestler, which is something that was the theme of his autobiography, "Accepted." But within the business there were openly gay wrestlers and office people well known long before him. He was a part of the Attitude Era as a television character as one of Vince McMahon's stooges with Gerald Brisco. He was the first Intercontinental Champion having won it in a fictitious tournament in Rio de Janeiro. He was the creator of the Royal Rumble, which conceptually as the big January kicking off of the year was taken from working for Roy Shire and his Cow Palace Battle Royal.
Patterson gained a booking education in his dozen years working for Shire. He was lauded as the best finish man in the business after the death of Eddie Graham, although those finishes routinely revolved around referee bumps. A lot of that was his Shire education since Shire was meticulous in doing finishes that made sense to build for the next show and having all gimmick matches mean something.
He was the referee in the main event of the first WrestleMania in Madison Square Garden. Muhammad Ali was advertised to referee the Hulk Hogan & Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff match, but it was clear Ali could not get what he needed to do. It was changed at the last minute with Ali as the outside the ring referee. Patterson was also there to help if Mr. T forgot what he was supposed to do.
He helped lay out most of WWE's biggest matches from the mid-80s and through the early 00s, including his role in the infamous Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels match in Montreal. He sold Hart on the spot where Michaels would get him in the sharpshooter. For what it is worth, he always claimed innocence in knowing about the double-cross. The story was that McMahon never told him about the double-cross to protect him because he was so well liked by the wrestlers, and in his role, needed to be.
He went from someone who started pro wrestling knowing no English and having little in the way of formal education to being Vice President of Talent Relations heading up that division in the biggest wrestling company ever up until that point in time.
He was known for hitting the bars and singing "My Way" at karaoke places, and in the ring, his ability to visualize a match and have classics, no matter what the style and the opponent, was near the top of the charts.
He was already a great worker when he came to San Francisco in 1965 and was quickly made tag team partner of Stevens, who was the area's top wrestler. The Blond Bombers were, by a wide margin, considered the greatest tag team in the history of wrestling until the 80s, largely for their 1965-67 run in San Francisco. Matches against Stevens were also among the best matches anywhere in the world after their split, when Stevens went babyface. In the late 70s, they held the AWA World Tag Team titles.
Patterson inherited the mantle as the top star of the company when Stevens left for the AWA. While the company did have short-term success after he left, most would tell you the death of Shire's territory came from when he and Patterson had their falling out and Patterson left for Florida.
Patterson eventually wound up working for Vince McMahon's father, and still holds the record for he and Bob Backlund headlining four consecutive Madison Square Garden sellouts, including a cage match that was far beyond the usual standard of that promotion in that era. He later became a television announcer, and while not his forte, there were many angles built around him in that role. The biggest was with Sgt. Slaughter. His 1981 Alley Fight with Slaughter was one of the early most collectable matches with early tape traders and was that year's Match of the Year. The IC title as the workers belt stemmed from his run as the first champion.
Patterson was an old school guy who always liked to laugh and joke. Where he differed from Shire in booking is Shire was always serious and Patterson loved to put comedy into the shows. He wasn't the stickler on realistic wrestling. In fact, even with his Shire background, he didn't really like it. He was not a fan of many forms of wrestling. He never enjoyed the serious athletic style of Japan, and would constantly say about the modern style that it was like Cirque du Soleil and never believed wrestling could sustain without the hard and fast babyface vs. heel dynamic he grew up with.
Even though he and Stevens in the 70s had classic matches where both were babyfaces and neither turned, they were not technical matches, but the idea was they were two kickass babyfaces breaking every rule. Even as a face, while he sold more, he was always portrayed more as a brawler, but it was more fists (his punches from the mount may have been the best in pro wrestling history) and kicks but always with wrestling thrown in. Yet at the same time, he'd knock pure brawlers, saying anyone can do that.
The irony was in his day, Shire would throw fits at some of his matches with Stevens as a team, thinking they were doing too many big moves. Even though the crowd would go crazy because both were masters at manipulating the audience, that they were ruining things long-term because they did a style others couldn't keep up with or follow, and always went long in their main event matches. But they became known as the best tag team in the business, and became huge stars in Hawaii where they, as World Tag Team Champions, would be flown in as special attractions whenever there was a major show.
The reality is that because his run as a wrestler was so long ago and most talk about his booking, finishes and teaching, that his in-ring ability is in many circles highly underrated. Bobby Heenan, who managed Patterson in the late 70s, ranked him as the fourth best wrestler he ever managed, behind only Stevens, Ric Flair, and Curt Hennig, and as better than Nick Bockwinkel.
Patterson would be automatic for every pro wrestling Hall of Fame (he's in every major one except Tragos/Thesz, which focuses on amateur wrestlers), as a singles wrestler, a tag team wrestler, and an executive.
Virtually every major star in WWE of the last 36 years will tell you positive stories about how he helped their careers, and was the personal mentor of Dwayne Johnson, who he immediately signed after seeing him in one workout and said that he had more potential for the business than any wrestler he had ever seen.
The reality is that few men ever wore so many different hats in pro wrestling and did them at such a high level.
United Wrestling Network President Dave Marquez announced that the UWN Primetime Live PPVs will be taking a break after tonight's PPV.
Marquez, citing the pandemic and not knowing where things may go in California where UWN produces the live weekly broadcast show, noted that they suspend PPVs for the remainder of 2020. He stated they would be taking a break over the holiday with plans to return in 2021.
Marquez stated they want to give the viewers the best product possible and he doesn't want to keep changing lineups at the last minute as they have had to do numerous times due to COVID. He thanked everyone who has supported the series over the last 12 weeks as well as all the different promotions who have assisted them as well as Thunder Studios, where the show is produced. He said the time off would give them a chance to work on plans going forward.
The planned UWN title match between Mike Bennett and Chris Dickinson will still take place in 2021 with Marquez promising, "We'll be back."
WWE is saddened to learn that Pat Patterson has passed away at the age of 79.
A true trailblazer of the industry, Patterson was linked to many “firsts” in sports-entertainment throughout his storied career, including the first-ever Intercontinental Title reign and the creation of the Royal Rumble Match. In a career spanning six decades, the renaissance man left an indelible mark on the industry in the ring, on the microphone and behind the scenes.
Patterson began his career in 1958 in his native Canada before becoming a fixture in the Bay Area for nearly two decades. After winning the AWA Tag Team Championship with Ray Stevens in 1978, Patterson moved on to WWE. Under the tutelage of The Grand Wizard, Patterson made an immediate impact and became the first Intercontinental Champion in September 1979. Patterson’s most legendary WWE rivalry was undoubtedly his war with Sgt. Slaughter, which captivated the WWE Universe with Boot Camp Matches and a brutal Alley Fight at Madison Square Garden.
Shortly before his in-ring retirement in 1984, Patterson joined Mr. McMahon as a color commentator. Even after hanging up his boots, Patterson was far from finished reimagining the possibilities of the sports-entertainment industry. In 1988, Patterson brought one of the ring’s most groundbreaking ideas to life by creating the original format for the Royal Rumble Match.
Patterson returned to the ring during WWE's electric "Attitude Era," creating many memorable moments alongside Gerald Brisco as one of Mr. McMahon's hilarious "Stooges." Patterson even pinned Crash Holly to claim the Hardcore Title. For all his efforts, Pat Patterson was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996 by Bret Hart.
In his 25-plus years in WWE, Patterson was synonymous with making history. From the Intercontinental Title to the Royal Rumble Match and beyond, his name will forever be revered in WWE lore. This amazing legacy was captured in Patterson's 2016 autobiography, Accepted: How the First Gay Superstar Changed WWE, a moving chronicle about his life both inside and out of the ring.

Callis claimed when he took over as booker that he was going to, quote" get rid of all the silliness that has plagued Impact Wrestling", unquote.
Needless to say he hasn't and every time I've called him out on it, asking "How can you get rid of the silliness if YOU'RE now the one writing and booking the silliness", he somehow never seems to have an answer for that. Makes you go, HHMMM.
