News On Marty Scurll Being Removed From ROH Roster
After accusations stemming from the #SpeakingOut movement earlier this year, Marty Scurll took a hiatus from ROH as the company began "an immediate investigation into the claims made against its currently contracted wrestlers."
Back in June, Scurll gave two statements about sexual assault allegations towards him. Below is an excerpt:
"In 2015 after a wrestling event in the UK, I had a brief consensual sexual encounter with a woman. In that moment, at a bar, in those circumstance, I had no cause to question her age. I don't say of of this lightly or to seek absolution for my ignorance. Although I did not become aware of her age until after the encounter, the reality of the age disparity is not lost on me. I understand that although our encounter was technically legal in the UK, my lack of good judgement that evening has disappointed many fans."
Re-signing with ROH in January, Scurll took over head booker duties, which are now reportedly handled by Hunter Johnston (aka Delirious).
Scurll has recently been removed from the ROH active roster page. Scurll currently doesn't have a role in the company.
The former ROH TV Champion is reportedly not fired from the company, but is still not involved with creative, nor does ROH have any plans to use him. He hasn't wrestled since February, and didn't appear at any recent tapings.

Edward “Teddy Hart” Annis, 40, was booked into Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth, Texas yesterday, a move brought about by Hart being named a fugitive from justice in Texas on 5/4.
Annis had been sentenced to ten days’ imprisonment in Richmond County Jail for violation of a house arrest he was under due to a previous arrest this past March in Virginia. While Annis resolved his March 4th arrest with that court date, he was incarcerated for the house arrest violation and after being jailed, was again arrested,
It was not clear until today why Annis was slated for a hearing this morning in Richmond regarding a potential extradition to another jurisdiction. However, Annis was transferred from Richmond City Jail and was incarcerated into Tarrant County Jail yesterday instead, so it appears that hearing had been canceled after whatever was preventing him from returning to Texas was resolved.
Court records in Texas list Annis as facing charges of Injuring a child/elderly/disabled person, evading arrest with a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. However, there are the exact three charges he was arrested for over the course of two separate incidents in December 2016 and January 2017 in Arlington County, so it would appear Annis' arrest is related to a probation or parole violation that led to the warrant being issued for his arrest and return to Texas.
Hart/Annis was released from his MLW contract in December 2019 after several requests to be cut loose from his deal. He last wrestled in early February at an independent event in Florida, where he had been residing prior to his first arrest in Virginia.

the WWE NXT Arena on the campus of Full Sail University, the WWE Performance Center, and the WWE ThunderDome at the Amway Arena are among 17 locations being investigated by the Strike Team of the Orange County Department of Health Strike Team regarding where COVID-19 might be spreading.
it is believed that several trainees from the Performance Center and / or NXT talent made formal complaints about daily operations and protocols not being followed. A few weeks ago a couple of people spoke up at an NXT taping about what they called "anti-maskers" not following guidelines outside of NXT and training classes, while potentially putting others at risk due to their actions.
It was mentioned that WWE wants everyone to be proactive in following protocols when it comes to attending large events and to be conscious about what they are posting on social media. Things such as pictures of talent being unmasked in large gatherings, especially indoors, that could lead one to believe that they were acting in an unsafe manner are all things the company wants talent to be aware of before posting.
It was noted that WWE can't control how talent live their lives outside of WWE. Should another Covid-19 outbreak affect WWE, they could "pause" having fans inside the Capitol Wrestling Center while continuing on with virtual fans and potentially trainees depending on the circumstances.
As noted, WWE recently issued the following statement regarding the pending investigations:
"WWE is not open to the public, but rather operating on a closed set with only essential personnel in attendance. As part of on-going weekly testing protocols, Aventus Labs have administered more than 10,000 PCR tests to WWE performers, employees, production staff and crew resulting in only 1.5 percent positive cases as compared to the current national average of more than 5%. Additionally, extensive contact tracing takes place and impacted individuals are placed in 14-day quarantine and then only cleared after they test negative."

Los Angeles (October 14, 2020) – Anthem Sports & Entertainment, Inc., a globally integrated multi-platform media company, announced today a partnership between the Company’s popular sports network Game+ and the groundbreaking OVW Wrestling promotion—bringing two of its hour-long wrestling series, OVW Overdrive and OVW TV, to Game+’s Sunday lineup beginning October 18 at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT. Game+ is the exclusive national cable broadcaster of OVW TV, with new episodes airing every Sunday following their initial premieres on the OVW streaming platform and affiliated partners.
Since its inception in 1993, OVW has served as the premier training ground for professional wrestling upstarts from across the country to come and learn the ropes of the squared circle en route to making their mark on the world stage. Lars Sullivan reportedly does not have many supporters left in the WWE locker room, especially after his latest controversy went public on social media this past weekend.
A Reddit user posted a screenshot this weekend that showed how married yoga instructor Annika Naidoo-Fuge blocked Sullivan on Instagram after he made inappropriate comments. Sullivan responded to a photo of Annika's legs and wrote, "Incredibly beautiful. I absolutely love your legs!!!"
He added in a follow-up comment, "You got any booty pics in those hon?"
The woman responded, "Hey lars. I'm going to refund you your money. I told you before I block people who send me messages like this so you've kind of had a warning. I don't have time to work with clients who don't respect boundaries - I'm a happily married woman. It's also not very smart on your part given you're quite well known."
Annika was reached for comments by Bodyslam.net and she confirm that the screenshot was legitimate, and also revealed that this wasn't the first time Sullivan made such comments.
"Essentially lars had been friendly for the best part of a year and the inappropriate comments only started recently. As a professional who is good at what she does, I just think it's a little sad that men feel they can send messages like that. It's insulting," she wrote in a private message to Bodyslam.
Annika then provided screenshots of Lars asking how much her "booty program" was. She responded with a price of $50 and then asked Lars if he would "put it out" to his female following, in a plug, which he did do. Lars responded, "I'd double that for pics! Just sayin!"
The screenshots also show more comments Lars made to Annika, which you can see below.
"I gave him the benefit of the doubt and was friendly! But a line was crossed," Annika said of the incident.

Lars is no stranger to online controversy, but this latest was made public just a day after he made his return to WWE TV during Friday's SmackDown, after being out of action for more than 1 year with a knee injury.
It was reported today by @Wrestlevotes that WWE is aware of Lars' latest "troubles" online. It was also said that it's beyond safe to say that Lars does not have many supporters left in the WWE locker room. However, one of those supporters has the ultimate say, and that may be the end of it. That supporter is WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.
Lars is in the Superstar Draft pool for tonight's RAW and will be eligible for a pick by RAW or SmackDown. He is currently a member of the SmackDown roster.
2300 ARENA CANCELS POLITICAL EVENT UPON LEARNING IT IS FOR DONALD TRUMP
The 2300 Arena has seen a lot of violence, blood and guts over the last several decades, but the one thing the South Philadelphia pro wrestling staple couldn't take was a rally event for WWE Hall of Famer and United States President Donald Trump.
The Arena was slated to host an "Italians for Trump" rally hosted by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani today, but the Arena's owners canceled the event upon learning the event was to support President Trump. The legendary pro wrestling venue had been originally told they were being booked for a rally for a "local politician", according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
“There’s just a whole lot of things that come with a Trump rally,” Arena co-owner Christy Bottie said. “There’s no way we were going to take any risks on any level for a Trump rally.”
Bottie was specifically concerned, according to the article about the venue not being able to handle the COVID-19 health concerns involving present with a larger gathering, although they had been told those attending would be wearing masks. There was also concern about the potential size of the gathering and protestors also coming to the building.
The rally was moved to another location in Northeast Philadelphia, where Giulani blamed the change on the Mayor of Philadelphia contacting the venue, something Bottie denied happened. The Arena held a Republican National Committee event in 2016.
The Arena itself has been shut down since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic and is waiting for the chance to return to booking live events, including professional wrestling, MMA, concerts and boxing. Since the summer of 1993, it has been the heart and soul of professional wrestling in the city of Brotherly Love, including hosting the first-ever ECW PPV, Barely Legal.
