Nope, Nada, And Not Gonna Happen- WWE PULLS LUGER DOCUMENTARY FROM THIS WEEKEND'S PREMIERE

WWE has pulled all trailers for the planned 7/4 debut of Icons: Lex Luger and all signs are the documentary will not be premiering this weekend.  As PWInsider.com has reported, there has been a hold on all forthcoming WWE documentaries and all planned premieres and even production work on WWE Docs was halted this past week.  Even though the Luger documentary was announced and promoted this past week, it appears that even that doc has fallen under the recent edict.

The release date was timed for the anniversary of the biggest WWF angle of Luger's career in 1993, when he flew in on a helicopter at the end of a WWF event on the deck of the U.S.S. Intrepid in New York City to "save the day" by body slamming then-WWF Champion Yokozuna to prevent him, playing the foreign menace villain heel, from embarrassing the United States on Independence Day.  This led to Luger chasing Yokozuna from that event through Summerslam 1993 and Wrestlemana X.

WWE sources have that the Lex Luger: Icons documentary will not debut this weekend as was originally planned. Sources have indicated that the decision to pull the doc from this weekend's premiere was so that it can be supported by a stronger lead-in.   That may mean they want to time the premiere with a larger event, such as a WWE PPV broadcast.

Luger's most shocking involvement in professional wrestling was probably his decision to secretly jump back to WCW from the WWF, walking out on the first episode of Monday Nitro on TNT, legitimately shocking the entire world.  That jump set the stage for anything truly happening during the Monday Night Wars with Luger eventually even getting another short run with the WCW World title during a program with Hulk Hogan.

Later in life, after WCW shut down, Luger would be forever linked to the death of Miss Elizabeth, who he had been dating when she died of an accidental overdose.  He would return to wrestling on independent events and short appearances for TNA, but later dealt with health issues that left him partially paralyzed.  Luger has remained a regular at convention events and has fought to regain his mobility.  He published an autobiography several years ago.

The new premiere date is to be determined.  As noted, the original premiere date was 7/4 to time it with the anniversary of Luger slamming Yokozuna on the deck of the U.S.S Intrepid in New York City on 7/4/93.

No Matter Where You Go? There They Are.. "Marks" That Just "INSIST" On Being Made Into Idiots (Updated 7-4-21 1:30 am)

As Kurt Angle used to say, "It's true, it's DAMN TRUE". Dumb ass "marks" are everywhere you go on social media, YouTube is no exception as you're about to see.

You'd think by now they'd smarten up, or realize by seeing stories like this one, that I'm one you'd best just avoid when it comes to being a dumb ass. Unfortunately, the morons, just can't help themselves.

So here's the two latest examples. I answered someone's question about how Russo ruined wrestling, and the guy that replied? Wasn't even the guy I was replying to. He just decided to throw himself into the conversation, and just like EVERY "MARK" DOES? He totally ignores facts, then tries to change the subject and after he gets his ass handed to him on THAT, STILL thinks he got over when even a blind man can see he got his ass verbally kicked.

I love how "Marks" these days try that same ol same ol "ignore the facts, then change the subject' tactic, thinking it actually works, when it clearly doesn't. All it shows is that they know they're getting punked so if they try to deflect by changing the subject, somehow they'll 'win', LOL!

Some day, "Marks" will stop being so pathetically predictable.

I know I'll probably be adding more screen shots to this because "Marks" today don't have a clue on when it's best for them to just stay silent.

Then we have this ass clown, "Brimstone Fan Club", first he says he's just a fan (which I called him a "Brimstone Mark" and he really didn't deny it) Then tries to claim he's him, THEN goes back to claiming he's "just a fan".

Too bad he can't make up his mind which gimmick to consistently portray when he's on YouTube, LOL. You just can't make this kind of shit up, you just can't.

I love how this "Brimstone Fan Club" clown thinks that I'd just back down if Brimstone came up and put his finger to my chest. Like I would just stand there and let him do it, LOL! Most people who know me know I don't let anyone do anything and most wrestlers that have met me know that if they got hit by a dirt sheet writer, a headline like "Wrestling Journalist Knocks Pro Wrestler Down With One Punch" wouldn't be a headline they'd want their name attached to. Or "Fan Puts Pro Wrestler Down With One Punch". Much like the story I did acouple weeks back where Charlie Haas shoved a fan at an indie show in Texas, and another fan belted him to the floor with one punch.

Things like that, that make social media are things most pro wrestlers don't want to see happen. Back in the day a pro wrestler lost his job if a fan got over him like that fan did on Haas.

And in case either of these two dumb shits wanna try and come back with that OTHER ever so predictable line of "Nobody goes to your site". Here's a screen shot of the number of viewers who have, been to my site in the last hour. I'll just go ahead and take that argument from them before they can even try to use it. :)

I said it several times and it looks like I'll have to keep saying it several more times. Someday "Marks" won't make it this easy for me to make fun of, some day "Marks" will become a challenge.

Some day, obviously, won't be today.

Update 7-4-221 1:30 am..

And NNOOWW, the very first guy I replied top on the Vince Russo thing has finally decided to speak up..

And wouldn't you know it, he's just as DUMB ASSED as the other two I've 'checked' tonight.

ANOTHER example of today's "Marks" totally ignoring facts, especially when the facts establish a pattern of failure and then rambles on and on several paragraphs long saying alot but not, really saying anything at all.

Truly THIS, is the mentality of "marks" now.

And when I said I'll be "waiting a long time" for him to come up with something credible, what does he do? The very thing that validates what I said about waiting a long time for him to come up with something credible.

Gotta love how "Marks" fall into that trap over, and over, and over again.

Instead of these dumb shits replying with several paragraphs of nonsense, why can't they actually scrape up something back up all their blabbering?

HHEEYY, what a concept that is, eh?

Instead, we get what you saw, nothing credible that he brings up, I call him ouyt to do and he deflects like all the "Marks" always do, and when i say I'll be waiting a LONG TIME for him to bring something credible up? He proves me right, LMAO!

Some day they'll become a challenge but some day, sure the fuck, won't be today, or even a week from today, LMAO!

Thank you "Marks" for being so dumb, and keep up the good work since being dumb and have nothing to offer seems to be your only good point.

Latest Example Of How Today's "Marks" Are Truly, TRULY... Dumb

It's been about acouple weeks since my last example of what dumb shits today's "Marks" are. But thanks to this latest dumb ass, I get to once again show you, that "Marks" today are really, dumb.. As, fuck.

I especially love how someone who helps with this site catches this moron in a lie, one hour after he made the lie. And when he gets busted  on it, what does he do? The SAME THING all "marks" do when they get busted out in public. Answer in every way they can to avoid admitting they got caught lying.

Why is it, every "Mark" does that very same thing? They know they got caught and can't avoid it so own up to it instead of trying to side step it. It just makes you look more stupid. But if that's the intention, looking more stupid, then mission accomplished.

So here you go, Watch how he claims to not "know" who Cornette is, then suddenly change his tune after he gets told to go educate himself, LOL.

I also love how he tries to spin first not knowing who Cornette is, into the usual and so predictable "Cornette hasn't been relevant in years" response. Which always shows they have no real argument so just go and hide behind what other dipshit "Marks" like to say.

Yeah, that's the ticket. (rolls eyes)

Then he tries to get him self over at my expense and gets checkmated with "if I'm sad what does that make you for replying to it"?

"Marks" should learn not to try and play checkers with chess masters. They'll lose every time.

And before this latest ass clown or some other moron tries to claim that nobody goes to this site? Here's proof they're wrong so I take that argument away from them before they can even try to use it :) . Taken just 90 seconds ago the amount of people in the last hour, that have visited my site.

Proof always is, a mother fucker and I'll always be the mother fucker who has the proof.

Someday "Marks" trying to brace me or people who assist with my site will get smarter, or at least become a challenge.

Someday, just won't, be today. :)

THE PATRIOT, DEL WILKES, PASSES AWAY

Former WWF, WCW and Global Wrestling Federation star Del Wilkes, known the best to fans as the masked Patriot, passed away today following a heart attack.  Wilkes' mother announced the news this afternoon.  Wilkes was only 59 at the time of his passing.

The legendary Wilkes passed away earlier today from a massive heart attack, according to The Charleston Post & Courier. He was just 59 years old.

Wilkes, who leaves behind a wife of of 40+ years named Cathy, began wrestling in 1988, and had runs with WWE, WCW, AWA, promotions in Japan, and more. He is a former two-time WCW World Tag Team Champion, and a former AWA World Tag Team Champion. Wilkes last wrestled for WWE in October 1997, losing to WWE Hall of Famer Jim Neidhart on Shotgun Saturday Night. He was released in early 1998.

Wilkes retired from pro wrestling after leaving WWE due to a triceps injury. He had worked for the past 16 years as a car salesman in Columbia, South Carolina. He also hosted the “Unmasking the Truth” podcast on the WWAB Podcast Network. Florida-based pastor Andy McDaniel, who hosted the podcast with Wilkes, issued a statement to The Post & Courier.

“Del Wilkes would become a name that those in college football knew quite well. He would make his name familiar in the world of pro wrestling as well. However, regardless of the accolades or fame he may have achieved, to me, he was best known as a friend. Del overcame his struggles in this life and became an inspiration to many. Our loss is Heaven’s gain,” McDaniel said.

Indie Wrestler Suffers Injuries In Bad Ladder Bump (Just "HAVE" To Get 'All The Spots In' Sometimes Gets You This Kind Of Result)

Georgia indie wrestler Lazer (Chris Johnson) suffered multiple injuries after jumping from a ladder at a weekend event put on by Doc Gallows’ Lariato Pro Wrestling Guild promotion.

The match took place this past weekend at the West Laurens 6th Grade Academy in Dublin, Georgia. Lazer was competing in a multi-man match when he leaped from the top of a tall ladder, to a group of wrestlers down below. He suffered a fractured hip and fractured femur, according to Georgia Wrestling History.

It was noted that Lazer expects to be out of the ring for 6 months. His hip came out of the socket when he did the dive, and his femur fractured on the landing. He went on to finish the match, despite the injuries. Lazer then underwent surgery the next morning, Sunday.

Veteran pro wrestler Tommy Dreamer, who was at the show and tweeted one of the viral videos, commented on the bad spot, writing, “I watched someone almost die last night. He wound up w/a broken hip.”

Lazer bills himself on Facebook as “the ultimate comeback kid, is a rope climbing, high flying, wrestling machine. Sure to entertain you with his skills within the ring!”

He wrote in a post-surgery Facebook post, “Just got out of surgery and the Dr’s all said I was not only very lucky but quite possibly one of the toughest men they have ever seen to be able to finish that match with what would later be diagnosed as a hip break. Everything went well during surgery. I will be on the mend for Atleast 3’months as I rehab and gain my Strength back. I just want all of my fans to know how much your calls, tmessages, and most of all prayers have meant to me. This is not the last you have seen of the MAN CALLED LAZER!!!!!”

A woman named Jennifer, who is Lazer’s partner and appears to be close to Gallows and his promotion, noted in another Facebook post that they weren’t sure how Lazer finished the match after looking at the x-ray photos. She also said Lazer was in good spirits after the injury, and was already planning his return.

She wrote, “To everyone who was messaged, called, texted, or visited him, we cannot express how much it has meant to us. We are deeply humbled and extremely grateful for your prayers, concerns, and love. He has assured me that even though he may not be able to get into the ring for awhile, rest assured, you will still see him at many of our upcoming Lariato Pro Wrestling and Impact+ Shows! Again, thank you all for everything.”

Lazer later announced that he is the new #1 contender to the LPWG Lionheart Title, despite the injury. He wrote, “Thank u all for the calls, texts, prayers, ect. Accidents happen, but as anyone there knows, not only did I finish the match, I did exactly what I promised won the damn thing, and I am now your new number 1 contender for the LPWG Lionheart Championship. Although I won’t be able to compete in the ring for a few months, I can promise our fans I will still be at the shows. Soooo, Bryce Cannon, enjoy your day in the sun my friend, u never know when I may show up!!!” (Proving he hasn't learned from this, at all)

Gallows later announced that Lazer will be in Forsyth, GA this Friday night to present the Hardcore Cup trophy to the winner of the Inaugural Lariato Pro Hardcore Cup Match at their Collision Course event. Wrestlers advertised for the show include Gallows, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Brian Myers, Luther, D’Lo Brown, Jimmy Wang Yang and his daughter Jazzy, plus more.

You can see three clips of the bad bump, and why guys like him won't learn and will continue to do this kind of thing because they just "Have to get all their spots in", here. https://twitter.com/i/status/1409984789688553478

KILLER KHAN WON'T BE CHARGED IN 2020 HIT AND RUN INCIDENT

Retired professional wrestler Killer Khan will not be prosecuted in relation to an October 2020 incident where he allegedly struck a woman who was riding a bike in the Hyakunincho area of Tokyo.  Khan then fled the scene, later being identified via security footage.  Last year, Khan allegedly told investigators that he was sorry over the incident, but left the scene as he had to get to his restaurant.

Khan apologized for the woman's injuries and charged last year "with suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Law regarding hit-and-run and negligence resulting in injury."   Prosecutors have declined to follow through with the case, although why was not made clear.

During his career, Khan most memorably feuded with Andre the Giant in the WWF.  He also had runs in Canada's Stampede Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling and other promotions in the 1980s.  Khan retired in 1987 after a final WWF heel run where he spewed green mist and was managed by the late Mr. Fuji.

Eddie Kingston Seems Too Scared To Fire Back On Bully Ray As He Speaks On Criticism He Received For Post-Dynamite Promo Against WWE

What's the matter Eddie? You wanna be "all gangsta" but when Bully Ray punks you on social media, instead of firing back on him? You bitch up.

I guess, that says it all, eh?

Here's the story where you see him in a way, trying to walk back what he did. And not mentioning Bully Ray even once.

Guess he knows, Bully Ray punked him. :)

AEW star Eddie Kingston recently appeared on WrestleZone’s “2 Dynamite Dudes with Attitude” podcast to discuss the anti-WWE promo that he cut in front of the crowd following Saturday’s AEW Dynamite show at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville.

Kingston told podcast hosts Dominic and Marcus DeAngelo that he loves the AEW locker room, and expects people in WWE to do the same thing he did, if they’re allowed to.

“Let’s get this question out of the way,” Kingston said. “Let’s all calm down. You think I’m going to go bury the locker room that I work for? No, plus I love our locker room. I love AEW. What do you want from me? They’re paying me! They’re putting me on national television after – it’ll be 20 years in October. Of course I’m gonna rah-rah AEW. Relax. Relax.

“I expect people from the other joint if they’re allowed to mention our names, they’ll probably do the same thing cause you know what I mean? They want their home team to win. It’s just like the NFL or Major League Baseball, man. You wanna go with your home team, AEW’s my team. That’s my squad.”

Kingston also talked competition and how it’s good for the business. Regarding the post-Dynamite comments, Kingston said some people got “butthurt” while some didn’t, but everyone needs to relax.

“Man, competition’s good. Watch pro wrestling. I don’t care,” he said. “I grew up during days in the ’90s where you had guys in ECW calling out everybody. You had WCW doing everything they could to beat World Wrestling Federation at the time. They did too! It’s good! Competition’s good y’all! Because then everybody watches pro wrestling. When everybody watches it, for those who are into it for this, this happens [indicates making money].

“I’m into it because I love it, I never want to do anything else, but anyway I digress cause I could keep talking, but for what happened, for the after-show, let everyone go home happy, people got butthurt and some didn’t, everyone relax. Let’s love it. Let’s love this. Let’s relax.”

As noted earlier, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray appeared on Busted Open Radio this week and had some harsh words for Kingston over his WWE comments. You can click Below for the story on Bully’s comments.

Bully Ray Puts Eddie Kingston In His Place (Eddie Got "Treated")

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has come down hard on AEW star Eddie Kingston for taking several shots at WWE last Saturday night after AEW Dynamite went off the air. Addressing the crowd at Daily’s Place, Kingston said that unlike the competition, AEW loves professional wrestling, listens to its fanbase and respects its legends.

Ray prefaced his criticism by praising Kingston’s promo skills.

“I love Eddie Kingston to death,” Ray said on Tuesday’s episode of Busted Open Radio. “If we were having promo wars and I was the captain of the team, and somebody says, ‘you get to pick one person to do the promo for you,’ I’d most likely pick Eddie – because of his believability, tone, inflection and everything about him.

“But in this case, Eddie needs to shut the f–k up and stay in his lane. And his lane is [of] an AEW guy speaking about AEW, and flying the flag for AEW. Then, I’m completely onboard. Tell me how great AEW is, fly the flag for your company, show me that you wear your heart on your sleeve.”

Ray said that unlike former WWE Superstars such as Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho, Kingston had no reason to take shots at a company he never worked for.

“You were indie guy for the majority of his career until this company [AEW] took a chance on you. You’ve learned to love it and everything about it. Don’t take the easy way out and knock the WWE. If Cody wants to destroy a throne, I get it. If Jericho wants to say FU, I get it. But, Eddie? Why? There’s no reason for him to say [such stuff].”

Ray also pointed to the fans at Daily’s Place not giving Kingston the desired reaction.

“If you go back and listen to the fans, they really didn’t pop that hard when he took a jab at WWE,” Ray said. “You didn’t get the reaction you were looking for. People were most likely thinking, ‘alright, Eddie, stay away from that… there’s no reason to go there.'”

LAST DAY TO PRE-ORDER AEW'S OVER PRICED CHAMPIONSHIP REPLICA BELT (OR, JUST GET IT CHEAPER ON eBay)

AEW announced the following:

AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP REPLICA TITLE BELTS

PRE-ORDERS END TODAY AT 11:59PM EST\

Now if you don't want to be one of the dumb morons who'll spend $700.00 for those over priced 'replica' title belts? You can simply go to eBay and ghet one for WWAAYY cheaper, than what AEW is scamming the "Marks" for.

I showed this example with this story right here. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2021/06/information-on-aew-replica-belts-even.html

So why be a dumb ass and waste $700.00 when you can get the same kind of "replica" tiotle belt for much cheaper over on eBay?

Only a real moron, or dumb ass, would do that.

Jim Ross On Why Vince McMahon Would Not Book Hulk Hogan Vs. Terry Funk PPV Match

On the latest episode of the Grilling JR podcast, former WWE commentator Jim Ross spoke about the great career of Terry Funk, who debuted in 1965.

Ross discussed Funk’s run in WWE in the late 80s and how he never faced Hulk Hogan for the championship at a major pay-per-view outside of Saturday Night’s Main Event in 1986. The current AEW commentator spoke about Vince McMahon wanting Hogan to only face competitors in major feuds who looked realistic to beat Hogan in terms of size. Ross also mentioned how he brought in Mick Foley to feud with The Undertaker for that reason.

“Terry could’ve been a great opponent for Hogan because Terry would’ve known how to work with Hogan to embellish Hogan’s skills,” Ross said. “McMahon was very cautious to not book Hogan with average sized guys. He wanted him to sell for a guy that was bigger than him.

“It’s the same concept I used when I hired Mick Foley to use for the Undertaker. You’re looking for an opponent and Foley was 6’4″, 300 pounds and I think that’s the same theory that we’re talking about in this topic. Vince was going to make sure, and I don’t blame him for this, that Hogan was booked with the right guy that can create the right visual and right dynamic so that when the Hulkster sold, it had more believability. I think there’s a lot to say for that, protecting your golden goose that’s now spitting out these golden eggs in the form of tickets sold.”

On a recent episode of Grilling JR, Ross mentioned how he still has a relationship with Vince McMahon despite joining AEW. Ross continued to talk about Vince, saying he holds no hard feelings towards his former boss and still respects the 20+ years he spent working for him.

“People think I’m still mad at him for some f***ing reason,” Ross said. “Only spent 26 years there, made a lot of money, why would I be mad? Come on. ‘Well, he had something pulled out of your ass.’ Okay, he also had me beat up several times, it’s pro wrestling. Sometimes it’s the theatre of the absurd, that’s what it is.”

Although Ross stated he has no hard feelings towards Vince, the AEW commentator said he was also upset with how WWE runs the Hall of Fame, specifically the amount of time each Hall of Famer is given to speak. Funk was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009 along with brother Dory, and Ross said seeing them both get only two minutes to speak was ridiculous after the careers they had.

“That was a b------t deal too because they got no time,” Ross said. “Everything was time, it’s all a T.V. show and I detest that. The organic nature of the Hall of Fame, it should be objective in the selection, it should not be over-selected by having too many people that can’t speak. I know a couple of Hall of Famers called me this year and asked me to help them with their Hall of Fame speech in WWE. I said how much time do you got? ‘2 minutes.’ Maybe they stretch it to three, but it’s become too corporate from that respect for my taste.

“I’m sure they don’t care what my tastes are anymore, which I get, I don’t care what their tastes are either, it’s their deal. I thought him and Dory had no time. Dory was not the great orator that Terry was. There are very few men that can talk as effectively and as memorably as Terry Funk. I thought they got jobbed a little bit on that presentation. I didn’t like the way that went down, they deserved better cause I’m sentimental, it’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”

Matt Hardy Recalls Vince McMahon Asking “What Is This Delete S–t?” (Another Thing Vince Didn't Create That Got over :) )

On his first ever Twitch live stream, AEW superstar Matt Hardy talked about he and his brother Jeff’s memorable return to WWE at WrestleMania 33.

During that time, The Hardy Boyz had a lot of buzz as the Broken Matt Hardy character was very over. Hardy spoke about Vince McMahon not having a clue who Broken Matt was when he reached out to them for their comeback at Mania 33, noting that McMahon did know though about the hype surrounding the legendary tag team in IMPACT.

“Vince probably didn’t have any idea about Broken Matt Hardy,” Hardy said. “Whenever we signed up for WrestleMania 33, we spoke with Vince but Triple H was the guy who did the majority of our negotiations. Thats who kind of worked out the deal with, when it was all set and done. It was very on the down low, only a handful of people knew about it and that was a part of the magic and what helped us coming back. Triple H was great the whole while, it was great working with him, it was great negotiating with him at the time.

“One of the reasons I think we were asked to comeback is because Vince kept saying ‘Why do these people keep saying delete? What is this delete s--t? Why do people keep going delete?’ Eventually, we spoke to him and that’s how we ended up back there. We came back, we were the Hardy Boyz and once Jeff got hurt, I was going to do a Woken Matt Hardy run.”

Hardy also talked about the moment he found out that he was going to be doing Broken Matt Hardy in WWE, revealed that he learned of it that day from Bray Wyatt. The 46-year-old described what it was like having a conversation with McMahon about the character and trying to explain to him why everyone liked the character so much.

“I remember pulling up to the building one time and I had no idea,” Hardy said. “Bray Wyatt, who we were buddies before that and we really bonded and gelled as friends, but I remember pulling up to television that day and Bray Wyatt pulled up and he said ‘Hey man, are you excited about tonight?’ I was like ‘Why, what’s tonight?’ He’s like ‘You haven’t heard? We’re starting the whole Bray Wyatt, Broken Matt Hardy thing.’ I was like ‘We are?’ Then I remember walking in and Michael Hayes said ‘Hey, Vince needs to talk to you, he’s got 30 minutes chiseled out for you and he wants you to explain the whole Broken Matt Hardy lure and how’d you come up with this and tell me about the character and what’s going on.’

“That was definitely one of the most interesting 30 minutes I ever had, especially telling him the whole idea of the essence of Broken Matt Hardy going from one body or vessel to another body over time. Explaining that to Vince McMahon was one of my favorite memories of all time. I remember there was a lot of ‘Hmmm, okay,’ and I know in his mind he’s going, this son of b---h is crazy. I had to sound like a mad man to him, an absolute madman. It was cool, it was fun and Vince really did stay open minded. He let me do Broken Matt on WWE T.V. and on top of that they had said we’re going to get some sort of compound deletion fight. He stayed true to his word, we really had to fight and work hard to do it.”

AEW commentator Jim Ross recently revealed the origins of Vince McMahon’s legendary “That’s such good sh**” line, saying it came during his interview with Mankind. Hardy said he never received that line from Vince when describing Broken Matt Hardy to him, but appreciated Vince for giving his character a chance on WWE television.

“No, I didn’t get that,” Hardy said. “Really, Vince is such a great talker. 30 minutes, it was probably 26 minutes of me talking and four minutes of him. He really was, he had an open mind to it. From what I understand, the Broken Matt Hardy craze is what ended up bringing us back to WWE so he knew there was interest there. Also it’s very different because WWE is such a more massive global deal. When we were doing it on IMPACT, it was viral online and on the internet and it did really well on the IMPACT shows but that’s also a much smaller audience as opposed to WWE. Vince gave it a shot and for that I commend him and thank him. I have nothing but love and a lot of respect for Vince McMahon.”

Matt Hardy debuted in AEW at the start of the pandemic as Broken Matt Hardy and was instantly put into a feud with Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle. Unfortunately for Hardy, his feud with Jericho and use of the Broken character was met with a lot of criticism, which caused the gimmick to be dropped.

In a recent interview, AEW President Tony Khan admitted that he was not a big fan of the character. However, Hardy believes that the character will likely appear again in AEW once crowds open up.

“I definitely think now that we have this Twitch capability you’ll be seeing some Broken Matt appearances here,” Hardy said. “But now for the time being in AEW, it’s definitely Big Money Matt. I think the whole pandemic scenario threw a huge monkey wrench in the plans. Especially not having fans live in the building and in the venue and just doing empty arena shows and literally just having nothing to gage on what you’re doing. I feel terrible for Orange Cassidy, if we had been having fans when he was going through that run with Chris Jericho, he would’ve been so over at that time. I dig his gimmick and obviously you guys know me, I did Broken Matt Hardy so I like that out of the box thinking.

“As far as Broken Matt goes, I definitely think when crowds are back and the moment arises and the time is right, I think Broken Matt could be 100% back. If he comes back to AEW, one of the lessons I feel like I’ve learned from the past when I first started as Broken Matt, I wanted to come in and be a little bit more vicious. The very first thing I did whenever I did the deal with Jericho and we did a teleportation thing, it was Chris’ idea and he was really giving and trying to make this character over the top and special. We did it and I know it was met with a lot of criticism from both sides. Long story short, I would definitely go without being the magical character or the supernatural route. I would make Broken Matt almost go back to his roots as just vicious, crazy, primal, animalistic and I think that type of Broken Matt would work in front of fans, in front of an AEW crowd.”
