The Empty Arena match - Tim Storm vs. Jocephus ended a nasty fall by Tim Storm and allowed Jocephus to earn Storm's automatic rematch for the NWA Worlds Championship. As Nick Aldis has launched The Aldis Crusade with Ten Pounds of Gold, Jocephus has been patient. With his Spiritual Advisor guiding his decisions, Jocephus showed up at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood to make this threat to Nick Aldis.

Sami Callihan Would Have Rather Quit Than Apologize To Fans For Eddie Edwards Baseball Bat Incident
Sami Callihan recently made a guest appearance on Busted Open Radio, hosted by Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca, during which he discussed a botched move that left fellow Impact Wrestling star Eddie Edwards with a broken orbital bone and a broken nose.
After losing the match against Edwards - which aired on March 1st but was taped in January - Callihan attacked his opponent with a steel chair and a baseball bat. He placed the chair on the prone Edwards' chest and hit it with the bat, but the bat ricocheted and struck Edwards squarely in the face, resulting in a rush to the hospital. Callihan, known to NXT fans as Solomon Crowe during his stint there, told the hosts that Impact management suggested that he address fans with remorse about the incident.
"If I have to apologize to the fans, I'm not coming and working for your company anymore," Callihan said. "Sh-t happens."
He went on to say he's being called "The Most Dangerous Man in Professional Wrestling," a moniker he seemed to relish.
"You know what, sure, call me that, because at the end of the day I know I'm one of the baddest MF'ers walking this planet today," Callihan noted. "I do not give a damn anymore. I'm at that point in my career where if you want to call me unsafe, call me unsafe. The fans want me unsafe, The boys in the back want to have insults about my work… You can look at my schedule and see I'm the most booked person on the planet. You can come find me and talk to me face to face, because that's how I deal with stuff, like a man."
When Bully Ray questioned him if he'd do the stunt again knowing the consequences, Callihan replied, "Absolutely! Why wouldn't I do this again? Boo-hoo, I hurt Eddie Edwards with a prop." He went on, saying, "everyone is going to tune in next week to see what happens next."
Impact did garner their highest ratings since last July for the episode, and the company has capitalized on the incident by posting footage online, despite the fact that the move drew ire on Twitter from the likes of industry veterans Jim Cornette, who questioned Callihan's training in a typically expletive-filled rant, and Kassius Ohno, who wrote on Twitter that Callihan "should be embarrassed. ASHAMED."

Ivory On Her Reaction When Stephanie McMahon Pitched RTC Role, Being Disgruntled With WWE, More
2018 WWE Hall Of Fame nominee Ivory sat down for a Skype chat session with WWE Hall Of Famer Steve Austin on The Steve Austin Show. Among many other things Ivory talked about her run as Miss Ivory of Right To Censor, the transition from terming female pro wrestlers 'women' to 'divas', and her WWE departure in 2005.
On the subject of Right To Censor, Ivory indicated that she did not receive very meaningful instruction from then-WWE writer Vince Russo. According to Ivory, Stephanie McMahon pitched her the RTC role, but was tentative about it. Additionally, Ivory said RTC was a lot of fun.
"Yeah, the only instruction Vince Russo ever gave me was, 'just be a b---h,'" Ivory recalled. "They give you this name and I have no idea where it came from. And that was about the gist of my direction. 'Just be a b---h, Ivory!' 'Okay, I'll do my best!' But, The Right to Censor, Stephanie [McMahon] approached me with it and she was really tentative about it, like, 'nobody's going to want to do this… would you want to join the group?' And I said, 'hell yeah!' I was waiting for something to sink my teeth into, so I was all-in to be Miss Ivory of The RTC. It was great fun too!"
In Ivory's learned opinion, the transition to divas made it harder and harder for her to talk put over the WWE product.
"I get that it's packaging and it's neat to put a name on what the girls are," Ivory said. "But it seems to me that they were making us Sports Illustrated swimsuit models instead of women who wrestle on a pro wrestling program. So it worked for the company, but I think it was a big part of what made it okay for me when I left was that it was getting harder and harder to talk really great about our product because they had gotten rid of all the wrestlers, the women workers, and replaced that segment with pieces that were really just embarrassing to watch. Nothing against the women trying out to be divas, but watching them get canned in front of everybody on TV, with the audience voting them off with their cell phones and votes, like The Voice or any of those shows, but kind of not really based on expressing their talents. It was their looks only and we made them do these stupid relays and it was just really demeaning and it didn't have anything to do with wrestling! Make a different reality show about that, but don't put it on our show. So to me, it got to be hard to put it over when I was doing WWE Experience or whatever, anything."
With respect to her WWE departure, Ivory, who claimed that she did not get into landscaping no matter what her Wiki page suggests, admitted that was disgruntled because she wanted to be a pro wrestler and WWE wanted her to be a talking head.
"I was disgruntled because there was still some good action to be had in the ring and I wanted to be in my boots and not be a talking head when I had the best gig in the world! I mean, come on!" Ivory elaborated, "it was such an easy gig, but I'm not very good at accepting great offers right away. I was still kind of pissed that I wasn't in the ring."

HISTORIC ROH, HWA WRESTLING VENUE TO BE TORN DOWN
The Montgomery Fairgrounds Coliseum, which housed many years of professional
wrestling in Dayton, Ohio, will hold its final sporting event, a boxing card
this weekend, before being torn down. The current fairgrounds will be razed and
replaced with a newer design that will feature eight buildings.
Over the course of its lifetime, the venue was home to Les Thatcher's HWA when it was a WWE developmental territory and hosted a number of Ring of Honor events, including, what was at the time, the most important match in ROH history to that point.
In 2004, with a great amount of turmoil due to the Rob Feinstein situation having the company in quite the maelstrom, CM Punk challenged Samoa Joe for the ROH championship in the venue. The two went on to have an amazing 60-minute draw, something that no one expected. It was not only a great wrestling match, but served as a statement that the company wasn't going to die and focus back on what was happening in the ring. The pair went on to have a great feud in ROH, including a second 60 minute draw, with Joe eventually winning the feud and retaining his championship. Historically, one of the most important moments in ROH history took place in that venue.
The Coliseum is most famous, locally at least, for being the home of the University of Dayton mens' basketball team from 1923 to 1950.

Matt Taven Says NXT Is ROH Lite, ROH Is Ignoring Talent To 'Kiss That A-- Of The Bullet Club'
Matt Taven appeared on Interactive Wrestling Radio to discuss his match against Cody at the ROH 16th Anniversary PPV this Friday night, March 9th. You can check out the full interview by clicking here, they sent us these highlights:
NXT being WWE doing an ROH-style show:
"I couldn't agree more. Our touring schedule and their touring schedule is starting to cross paths to where maybe they hit a market a week before we hit that market. That is on purpose. Taking talent from Ring of Honor? That is all on purpose. I basically look at NXT as ROH Lite. I wish for every wrestling company to be as successful as possible. There is something that ROH is obviously doing right if the top dog is trying to hurt them. That is something that they've (WWE) has tried to do a few times. It just lets us know that we (ROH) are doing something right. And, ROH has been resilient. I first started working here in 2009 doing stuff. I started working more consistently in 2012. But, in my 9 years, wow I feel old saying that, in my 9 years, I've seen them come and go. And still, ROH continues to get bigger and continues to grow and grow and reach broader audiences. As much as I love my buds, it shows ROH is doing something right if WWE is trying to bite their style so much."
If he's excited about facing Cody at the 16th Anniversary PPV:
"Of course I am. People sing the praises of this guy. For what reason? Because he hit the genetic lottery and his dad was someone? I cannot wait to get on pay per view, show everybody what a Melvin he is, and at the end, take the ring, shove it against his face and he'll know who the King is!"
If this match with Cody establishes himself back on top of ROH:
"I've always felt I deserve to be there. This Kingdom conspiracy thing, it is not just me putting stuff online. I truly believe that. There is a movement against me and the Kingdom in general. I mean, I've won every single title Ring of Honor has had to offer. In the 5 years I've been with Ring of Honor, I've had 2 World Title shots. Two of them! One ended with interference from Truth Martini. The other had interference from Frankie Kazarian. What has Ring of Honor done about it? Absolutely nothing. They're so, so (kissing noise) making sure to kiss that ass of the Bullet Club, Ring of Honor is letting guys like me fall to the wayside. They give title opportunities to guys like Cody Rhodes come in here, think that he is someone for no reason. It is a shame. It is a conspiracy like I've said. But, live on pay per view, I get to embarrass that bleached blond doll and let everybody know that if Ring of Honor continues to hold me down, it is obvious this company has a bias against me and is obviously pushing this Bullet Club agenda."
The Jay Lethal / Dalton Castle title match:
"I'm not looking past Cody but I'll always have my sights set on the World Title. Jay Lethal is getting a World Title shot 2 months after I beat him right in the middle of the ring on Ring of Honor TV. I'm not sure why that shot isn't for me. But, I'm not looking past Cody. Embarrassing Cody Rhodes is that next step towards proving Matt Taven is every bit as good as he says he is and there's a reason that I am the King. This is the launching pad that puts me right in the #1 contendersip for the World Title. I deserve a World Title shot anyway. But, to beat the former champion and then move on to a title shot, you couldn't write a better story than that."

"To be a cornerstone of this company for the past 5 years, it is a sense of pride and a badge of honor. A friend of mine, actually my girlfriend, said to me something the other day that really put things in perspective. She was like, 'I remember you doing your first pay per view.' That was in 2014 and now we're going into New Orleans, already over 5,000 tickets have been sold. Like you said, that Nashville taping. It just keeps growing and growing and growing. And even though there are things that people think will deter us, it hasn't stopped us at all. There is obviously a sense of pride. We want to be on that level where we're as big of stars as everyone else in the wrestling world. Until we're there, we're not going to be satisfied."

FORMER WWE CHAMP AT WWE HQ LAST WEEK
Former WWE, AAA and Impact Wrestling champion Alberto el Patron (fka Del Rio)
was at WWE HQ in Stamford, CT last week. Sources were
told Patron was in Stamford last Wednesday, filming interview material for an
upcoming WWE project related to Rey Mysterio. That would be the day he flew to
Europe to make an appearance for Five Star Wrestling.
While Patron was in Stamford, he also met with Vince McMahon, numerous sources have confirmed.
The meeting with McMahon is very interesting, there have been rumblings of late within WWE that McMahon was very much for Patron returning to the company, as he's always been extremely high on Patron as a performer and a character. Patron left the company in September 2016 after requesting a release, at the time unhappy with where he had been slated within the company.
Patron has been with Impact Wrestling since March 2017 and his current deal with the company is slated to expire next month. Impact management made it a priority over the weekend in Canada to meet with talents who's deals were coming close to expiring in order to negotiate new deals, including Patron, who by all accounts would be the biggest "name" talent in the company and likely the highest paid. In a public statement, ESPN stated they had already investigated allegations
brought forth by Lawrence internally and determined they were without merit.
They stated that they intend to defend themselves in court.
This morning, Coachman took to Twitter to respond to the allegations, writing, "I will address this only once because I am seething today. In 21 years of being a PROFESSIONAL I have never been more offended in my life. I my 9 years I can count on one hand the amount of times I interacted with anyone other than a co-anchor. To allow someone to spread vicious Lies and flat out fabrications is not ok and it’s time someone stood up for themselves.@jemelehill

Say goodbye to his WWE job. Jonathan Coachman named in ESPN sexual harassment lawsuit
Jonathan Coachman was one of several ESPN employees named in a sexual discrimination and harassment lawsuit filed against the company Monday.
Former ESPN employee Adrienne Lawrence filed the suit in Connecticut's United States District Court, but damages were not specified.
Coachman, now with WWE, was named on page 36 of the lawsuit in the section "Men Preyed on Ms. Lawrence Under the Guise of Being Collegial or Providing Mentorship".
From the suit:
"On or around January 18, 2016, SportsCenter anchor Jonathan Coachman (“Coachman”) emailed Ms. Lawrence offering to provide her with mentorship and providing his cellphone number. When he contacted her via text, he quickly turned a professional conversation into a personal matter, asking her about her musical interests. He was employing the ESPN predators’ playbook. Colleagues then cautioned Ms. Lawrence that Coachman was notorious for sexually harassing female employees. After learning that, Ms. Lawrence made an effort to communicate to Coachman that she had a boyfriend, after which she did not hear from him again and he made no offers of mentorship.
Coachman’s reputation for making unwelcome sexual advances to ward women and engaging in other sexually harassing behavior was not a secret. Cary Chow had warned Ms. Lawrence about him when he gave the short list of men at ESPN who were notorious for sexual harassment. Coachman had sent Walsh inappropriate photos of himself and text messages, falsely telling her colleagues that they were romantically involved and that she “wanted” him – another common practice of men at ESPN.
At least one young production assistant who joined ESPN just out of college had complained to Ms. Lawrence about Coachman making her feel uncomfortable by complimenting her physical appearance and making passes at her."

The suit also claims that former ESPN personality Chris Berman left a racially charged voicemail for ESPN personality Jemele Hill, something Hill denied on Twitter while expressing disappointment at a private matter made public.
ESPN released a statement that they conducted a thorough investigation and that the claims "are entirely without merit" and "the company will vigorously defend its position and we are confident we will prevail in court.”

Jimmy Jacobs Says Impact Wrestling Has Advantage Over WWE Regarding Storylines
Former WWE writer Jimmy Jacobs was recently a part of an Impact Wrestling media conference call, and discussed a number of topics regarding Impact, WWE, and Ring of Honor. Jacobs became popular during his time in the independent circuit, as well as his years of competing for Ring of Honor. Jacobs was also one of the founding members of ROH's S.C.U.M. faction, which was a villainous group which included Kevin Owens (Steen), Steve Corino, Matt Hardy, and others, from 2012 to 2013.
Jacobs can now be seen as a manager of Kongo Kong in Impact Wrestling, as both have been challenging Abyss for the past several weeks to see who the real monster of Impact Wrestling is. He was reportedly released from WWE after posting a picture with Bullet Club members Young Bucks, Marty Scurll, and Adam Page, but he discussed during his interview on Talk Is Jericho that there was a compilation of things which led to his release.
Shortly after his WWE release, Jacobs appeared in Impact Wrestling, showing up on their annual Bound for Glory pay-per-view. Although Jacobs was offered to return to ROH, he explained that he was looking to try something different.
"I wanted to do something new, I had a conversation with Scott D'Amore and Sonjay Dutt on the phone about different things at Impact and it just seemed like a nice fit," said Jacobs. "So my first time in Ottawa [at Bound for Glory] was a test run to see how the fit was. We are in a rebuilding phase and they needed somebody who could wear a lot of hats and do a lot of different things and I had experience in all those things. It was a nice week in Ottawa and solidified that Impact was the direction that I wanted to go. I also felt valued and that might seem like a small thing, but it was a big deal. I felt valued and not just by the boys and locker room."
Regarding his contract status with Impact, Jacobs stated that he is on a handshake deal with the company, which is something he wants. He also stated that he has much more freedom at Impact than he did with WWE.
"I felt so restricted for two and a half years [in WWE] and so coming in now with the freedom to grow where I want to and do what I am best suited for," said Jacobs. "I feel like that wasn't an opportunity I had at the last company I worked for."
"When I got fired from the WWE, I was in the WWE bubble. So when I got fired people kept telling me that the independents was booming, but I didn't know about it," Jacobs explained. "Sami Callihan called me up straight away and introduced me to promoters and stuff and it's brilliant. There is more awesome wrestling going on now than ever before. So much great talent and it's great to still wrestle on independents and work at Impact as well and there are some guys I get to work with that I would love to bring to Impact. I'm making more money than I ever have before in my life so I am not mad at it."
According to Jacobs, Impact has an advantage over WWE regarding storylines.
"One of [the] advantages we have here is that we are taping a lot of weeks of TV in a row. What's cool about that is that we can tell a story long term and in WWE there is not a lot of that. Whilst it's similar in some ways, it's nice that we can tell long-term stories. And we have more freedom to try new things and experiment. It's a time to try something that may fail. Lot of times in WWE you tread water to get to the next week. I feel like at Impact we can do a little more. But it's still crazy busy. The last tapings we did in January was like nothing I have done in my life."
Although Impact Wrestling has a series of tapings at once, Jacobs explained the grueling schedule he experienced.
"It was six days of taping two shows a day then afterwards going back to the hotel and staying up until 6 am and looking at the next day's tapings," said Jacobs. "We were working 18-20 hour days, six days in a row and I remember me and Scott taking the brunt of the work. After one night I remember I looked at Scott and said to him 'I worked with Vince McMahon for over two years but this is the hardest thing in my life'."
Regarding how Impact Wrestling can get back to where it once was, Jacobs said that it is about gaining the trust from the fans again. The company has asked for the fans' trust so many times, only to break it and "screw them over." The key, according to Jacobs, is to bring a unique element to the product in order to regain the trust of the fans.

WWC HOLDS FIRST EVENT SINCE HURRICANE MARIA
World Wrestling Council (WWC) finally, finally, finally returned to action on
Saturday night 3/2 with the first event the promotion has presented September
2017 when Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico.
WWC are billing this as the beginning of their 2018 season. The event took place at the Angel “Musico” Hernandez Amphitheater in Dorado, PR. The fans packed the venue, which is not a big one and were ready to see some action after the long hiatus.
Quick results from the matches presented last night:
- Bellito defeated “El Comandante.”
- OT Fernandez defeated Anthony Roberts.
- “El Hombre Bestia” Angel defeated Ray Gonzalez Jr.
- Xix Xavant defeated Peter “The Bad” Romance.
- “La Revolucion” retained the WWC World Tag Team titles by defeating Khaos & Abaddon with interference from their manager Orlando Toledo.
- “The Precious One” Gilbert retained the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight title when he faced “El Chico Ilegal” Chicano. There was no winner in this match after they went to the time limit of 20 minutes.
- In the main event, Mighty Ursus defeated Ray Gonzalez Sr. via DQ, after Ray Jr. interfered in the match, nailing Juan Manuel Ortega with a “kendo stick” in back. This allowed Ray Sr. to grab a chain and use it to blast Ursus with it. This caused the DQ. Ray Jr. joined his dad in beating Ursus in the ring, but not for long, as Ortega came in, chair in hand and the heels quickly slid out of the ring.
There were some challenges made during the show and they also filmed promos in the back for next week’s TV show to help set up the card for their return to the same venue in Dorado next Saturday night. On the Sunday edition of their TV earlier today, WWC announced the card for that house show next week, which will feature:

- “La Revolucion” retained the WWC World Tag Team titles by defeating Khaos & Abaddon with interference from their manager Orlando Toledo.
- “The Precious One” Gilbert retained the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight title when he faced “El Chico Ilegal” Chicano. There was no winner in this match after they went to the time limit of 20 minutes.
- In the main event, Mighty Ursus defeated Ray Gonzalez Sr. via DQ, after Ray Jr. interfered in the match, nailing Juan Manuel Ortega with a “kendo stick” in back. This allowed Ray Sr. to grab a chain and use it to blast Ursus with it. This caused the DQ. Ray Jr. joined his dad in beating Ursus in the ring, but not for long, as Ortega came in, chair in hand and the heels quickly slid out of the ring.
There were some challenges made during the show and they also filmed promos in the back for next week’s TV show to help set up the card for their return to the same venue in Dorado next Saturday night. On the Sunday edition of their TV earlier today, WWC announced the card for that house show next week, which will feature:

CWA announcced they would be "coming back to their roots” next Saturday 3/10 at the Santa Clara Arena in Aguas Buenas, PR with their Accion Vibrante (Vibrant Action.) They announced the following talents will be appearing CWA Heavyweight champion “El Sensacional” Star Roger, CWA Puerto Rico champion “El Magnate Cubano” Rodrigo Garcia, CWA’s Tag Team champions “Los Fugitivos”, Edwin Garcia, Derek Shadow with “Las Bestias” and many more. The official card will be announced over the course of the week.

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced
last night that Katsuyori Shibata will be the head coach of the Los Angeles
dojo beginning next week, so that will be Shibata’s new role for the company
after injuries forced him out of the ring last year. It was also announced
that Scorpio Sky will be working as assistant head coach. This is the company's
second outing with a Los Angeles dojo as they had one in the early 2000s that
featured Shinsuke Nakamura, Bryan Danielson, Rocky Romero, Ricky Reyes and Samoa
Joe, among others, training there regularly back when the Inokis had their
relationship with Dave Marquez.
Chris Jericho, in responding to a fan on Twitter about whether he was still working with New Japan, responded, “Unfortunately, no.” Jericho attacked Tetsuya Naito in an angle to set up a future match between them after the Wrestle Kingdom classic with Kenny Omega, but hasn’t been announced for anything since. Of course, with Jericho, there’s always a lot of sleight of hand where he says one thing publicly to lead the audience one way to maximize the surprise effect if/when he has his next major angle or return, so we will see what happens.

This Thursday's Impact Wrestling episode on Pop has been titled "Crossroads"

Impact Wrestling held two tapings over the weekend in Canada, a One Night Only PPV taping in Windsor, Ontario co-promoted by Scott D'Amore's Border City Wrestling and a Twitch taping in with Santino Marella's Destiny Wrestling in Mississauga, Ontario. The show in Windsor was beyond sold out. D'Amore has been running Windsor forever, so if that building wasn't sold out, I'd have been shocked. Marella made an appearance before the crowd but will not appear on the Twitch special. The Destiny building was said to be really cool and intimate.
A big priority over the weekend was locking in talents to new deals. We've heard management sat down with Alberto el Patron and Eli Drake about new deals. It's possible others were spoken to as well, but sources indicated that the talks with the aforementioned were all positive and that it was believed as of this morning that they would be staying with the company. One source noted that locking Matt Sydal in was seen as a priority.
The company brought in a lot of their regular production team and referees as well as Josh Mathews for the events.
Cody Deaner and Tyson Dux were used as agents over the weekend. Jimmy Jacobs and Scott D'Amore were working as agents as well.
The Desi Hit Squad, Gursinder Singh & Rohit Raju, worked over the weekend prior to their official TV debut.
There was a funny moment before the doors opened before the Destiny Wrestling event last night where Impact management realized that all the ringside seats were actually WWE PPV commemorative chairs as apparently WWE gifted them to Santino's school. Once Impact voiced realized the set-up and voiced it could cause an obviously embarassing issue if WWE-related content appeared on the Twitch broadcast, even in passing, the chairs were all swapped out before doors opened.
Rey Fenix is confirmed to be working the 4/6 Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground event at Wrestlecon, which will air live on Twitch.

Today The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling welcomes former WWF Referee turned WWF Superstar as Dangerous Danny Davis joins the show. Discussing his Kickstarter campaign to help fund the release of his autobiography "Mr. X: The Story of Dangerous Danny Davis, the "Dangerous" one shares with Chad and John the struggles he faced as a youth and how his book can serve as a guide for similar children today who may need a little reassurance and positivity in their lives. We also cover the wrestling career of Davis that saw him rise through the ranks of the WWF and what eventually lead him to the much remembered "heel" referee angle that fans still fondly recollect today. Reliving his tough childhood while writing his book:
"Nobody likes to look back and relive (as you pointed out) your past because it is over. I tell people who knew me then and people who know me today or during my wrestling career that the Danny Davis that you knew is dead. He exists no more and is only in my past because I have done things in my life that I had only dreamt of and I achieved my dreams and now look at me, it wasn't easy. To live a dream is very lonely thing and it is hard to sacrifice and it is not an easy path but it can be done and when you achieve those dreams there is no feeling like it and there is nothing like it. Here I am after wrestling and all my other things I've done writing a book. I am writing a book to help other people and give back to the fans that supported me throughout all these years and that helped me in my career and stuff like that because the fans are the people that put these wrestlers over."
The "heel" referee angle:
"It was so great and it was so wonderful. The people in the ring that you were working with were so helpful and they all knew and they felt it and it was a great time that I enjoyed every minute of from the beginning to the end. It is like anything else where the first time something is done it is spectacular and when people try to do it again it may be good or it may be great and it may even be entertaining but it will never be duplicated and you can never do it twice and get the same reaction. What we did was never done before or gone that far with and we took it from an idea and developed it into something. I didn't do it alone and I will not take any credit for that there were some key people involved in it including all the wrestlers, all the referees, promotional people, Vince McMahon all had a part in it and just guided me along. It was a natural thing for me to be a wise guy and it took me back to my street kid times because I can be a bad guy if they wanted or I could be mean and rotten or act like a tough guy and be whatever they wanted me to be I could do it and that is what opportunities opened up for me and I took advantage of them and we went with it and it was very successful."
Working WrestleMania 3 alongside The Hart Foundation and Jimmy Hart:
"When we walked out there into that Silverdome and we had been looking at it on monitors in the dressing room obviously but when we walked out there and were actually in that ring it was (I don't know how to say it) there were just so many people I just said where did they all come from? What a successful promotion this is and we are apart of it. I said to Jim (Neidhart) and Bret (Hart) can you believe we are part of this? They just laughed and were trying to be cool but they were as excited as I was to be a part of this event that as the kids would say is awesome. That is the only word I can use to describe it."
Reflecting on colleagues lost through the years:
"It is like a family member dying. There are always in your hearts and that is gonna live because I think of the good times and I worked with them all as Mr. X and I remember that in Providence, Rhode Island we had a Royal Rumble and I worked with all of the guys. To see them pass away and be gone it is like as I said a family member dying. But you look back on it fondly and you get a smile on your face when you think about it and that is the bad part of life that people don't live forever and you lose some of the greats and you lose some good friends and they are like family members because you live with them for all of those years on the road, working with them, eating with them, sleeping with them, going overseas, flying with them and everything."
Working with top talent:
"I enjoyed every night and I enjoyed being there and getting dressed and doing it. WrestleMania will always be my top pick and I love to watch that but as Mr. X the guys I worked with the likes of Bruno Sammartino and his son and to me I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe that I was in the ring with Bruno Sammartino and to think about that. That is one of my top ones but also The British Bulldogs as Mr. X because they used to really be (as we say in the business) snug with everyone especially Tom (Dynamite Kid) was a really stiff guy to work with but I enjoyed it and I endured it."

After qualifying for this year’s Commonwealth Games Scottish wrestling team last month, ICW professional wrestler Joe Hendry has today called out Australian UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker. The pair join their country’s freestyle wrestling teams under the 97KG category, with the possibility of facing one another at the upcoming Gold Coast Games, starting April 4 in Australia, depending on the draw.
Speaking live on BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound radio show, Hendry said:
“What kind of athlete would I be if I didn’t call out the top guy?! I am calling out UFC Champion Robert Whittaker. He’s the toughest guy in the world, it’s going to be a tough day at the office. If a professional wrestler can beat a UFC champion of the world it’s going to result in a very interesting situation. Beating Whittaker is as important as bringing a medal home for me.”

Last night's Manhattan Mayhem stream was said to have been excellent for Ring
of Honor's Honorclub. The
show is already available for VOD.
ROH did announce at the beginning of their broadcast that Socal Uncensored would not be appearing on the show due to flight issues. They did not, to the best of my knowledge, announce it to the live crowd. ROH obviously scrambled the show a bit to reconigure plans. The Kingdom did an excellent job in stepping in and one thing that really stood out to me last night was how much Matt Taven has grown as a personality and promo since the group was built around him.
Another thing that is readily evident is that as a character and personality, Cody Rhodes is doing the best work of his career. He had the crowd reacting to everything he did, every tease and every comment, in a way that only top stars get. He's really tapped into something and if you haven't seen his work since he departed WWE, you'd be shocked at how much he's grown.
The CMLL stars missed the pre-show meet and greet as Ultimo Guerrero got caught up in customs for a lengthy period of time when they arrived in New York City. Despite all that, he still helped tear the house down in his tag match with Jay Lethal vs. Dalton Castle and Volador Jr. The talents showed up at the Hammerstein Ballroom about five minutes before Soberano Jr. went to the ring to face Punishment Martinez, which was likely a factor in why that match didn't click.
I don't know that this was by design, but Adam Page's balcony moonsault was about a foot to the left of where Super Crazy did his at the ECW One Night Stand PPV back in 2005.
During intermission, ROH Honorclub streamed a great Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe match from the archives. Great way to keep the audience at home entertained while you are selling merchandise and giving the live fans a breather.

ROH officials are thrilled with the advance ticket sales for the Supercard of Honor event in New Orleans, which will easily break the promotion's attendance record.
As noted last night, ring announcer Bobby Cruise has signed a new two-year deal with the company.

POSSIBLE REY MYSTERIO INJURY
Rey Mysterio is believed to have suffered a torn bicep during the main event
of Northeast Wrestling's Wrestlefest in Waterbury, CT this past Friday,
PWInsider has learned. In that bout, Mysterio teamed with Flip Gordon against
Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley.
Some sources reports on the match: "I wouldn’t call this the smoothest encounter I’ve ever seen, but as far as building heat to a hot tag, then building heat to an even hotter tag that lead to an explosion after the finish, this was effective. Rey is a superstar for a reason, and Flip is building his way to eventually becoming one. Flip benefited greatly from being in there with him. The finish saw Rey hit a double 619, followed by a top rope splash on Konley for the win."
It should be noted that as of this writing, the injury has not been confirmed as Mysterio was going to have it examined upon his return home to California. Mysterio's arm was a little swollen after the bout, but he was not holding the arm backstage after in a way that was obvious there was a major injury. We are told Mysterio pretty much rushed to leave the building after the match.
The potential injury is believed to have occurred in the final minutes of the bout, so it should be interesting to see what the tape of the match reveals when it is released online by Northeast Wrestling.
The sad timing of the potential injury is that, according to WWE sources, Mysterio was originally slated to meet with Triple H at WWE HQ in Stamford, CT prior to the NEW event to try and lock down terms of a new contract with the company. The meeting was postponed after HHH was needed to go to Saudi Arabia to finalize a new contract there that would see WWE locked in to produce live events in that country over the next decade.
Mysterio had been on WWE's radar since his surprise return at the Royal Rumble in January, which easily received the biggest reaction of anything on the show up until that point. That opened WWE up to signing a new deal with Mysterio, where before, previous talks had stalemated over Mysterio wanting a part-time deal and WWE management insisting on a full-time return.
Mysterio is also slated to wrestle Jushin Liger at the 3/25 New Japan Pro Wrestling "Strong Style Evolved" event in Long Beach, CA.
Now, all of that is up in the air until Mysterio gets this potential injury diagnosed.

TAMMY SYTCH UPDATE
Tammy Sytch remains incarcerated in Monmouth County Correctional Facility in
New Jersey.
An official at the facility has stated that Sytch will be held until authorities in Pennsylvania arrive to extradite her back to Carbon County, PA, where she is a wanted fugitive for violating the terms of her February 2017 parole.
Once that situation has been resolved, Sytch will also need to be returned to New Jersey to face new charges that she has racked up in 2018, including two new DUI arrests.

Nick Aldis started The Aldis Crusade with Ten Pounds of Gold vs. James Ellsworth at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood. It continued in the United Kingdom with challenger #5 - David Starr for the NWA Worlds Championship happening on 2/11/2018 at IPW UK.

More On Former WWE Star Tammy Sytch Arrested For Two DUIs.
Tammy Sytch, also known as former WWE star Sunny, is once again behind bars, with cops saying she was a "fugitive from justice." According TMZ Sports, jail records showed that Sytch is currently locked up in New Jersey on contempt of court and fugitive from justice charges.
In a new TMZ Sports report, just before Sytch was sent to jail she was cited for two DUIs in two weeks. The first was on January 23 in New Jersey and the second (again, in New Jersey) was on February 2, which also involved a car accident that police say she fled from. Sytch was later found, cited another DUI and leaving the scene of the accident.

The show started with The Young Bucks & Marty Scurll and they taped a segment for Being The Elite. They asked the crowd to play along and the crowd was super hot for it. The Bucks then cut a promo saying the last time they were here they wrestled The Hardys and sat across from Roddy Piper as he signed autographs and put over what an honor it was. Marty then started saying that things are messed up in the Bullet Club when The Kingdom came out and cut them off.
Taven came out and said the Bullet Club is stealing everyone’s money by coming here and not wrestling. Nick then said they can’t wrestle because of their contracts, but they can get in the ring and get their asses kicked. The Kingdom hit the ring and ran right into superkicks. That sent The Kingdom packing and they were stopped by local police before they could get in the ring again. The Young Bucks thanked the crowd. That was a crowd-pleasing way to start the show to say the least.
MATCH ONE: NEW Tag Team Titles – Adrenaline Rush (Evans & Youngblood) (c) v. Cam Zagami & Robbie E
Adrenaline Rush is listed from the DANGER ZONE.
This was as basic of a tag match as it gets and I say that with the highest regard possible. The crowd ate it up, it told an easy story and it was entertaining. Zagami was out when Robbie E put his foot on the rope. After that, Evans was going for a big finish when Robbie E pushed him and Cam rolled him up with a handful of tights for the win. Simple, yet very well done and the crowd reacted huge. That’s all you can ask for. New champions.
WINNERS: Cam Zagami & Robbie E
Lanny Poffo out for an interview segment. He put over NEW as the best indy promotion and thanked the fans for everything. He also thanked all the fans at the meet and greet earlier who said nice things about his brother Randy Savage. That got a very cool “Macho” chant. He read one of his classic poems about the Macho King back in the day, which included an Elizabeth mention. This was a good little segment that the fans appreciated. He then threw Frisbees into the crowd because…why not?
MATCH TWO: Triple Threat Match - “Red Lion” Chris Battle v. Christian Casanova v. “Sexy Beast” Bull Dread
Another very simple, yet effective match. Casanova was playing the smaller cowardly heel who took a bunch of big bumps for the bigger Battle and Dread. The finish saw Casanova move and Dread speared Battle. Casanova dumped Dread out of the ring and pinned Battle. Everyone played their role well, the crowd was hot for it, and Casanova shined as the heel.
WINNER: Christian Casanova
Out comes King Brian Anthony and his Royal Court, which consists of The Amazing Graysons and a man dressed as the Mad Hatter. This is straight out of 1993 WWF. Before Anthony could cut a promo, he was cut off by his opponent and his entrance.
MATCH THREE: “The King” Brian Anthony v. “Man Scout” Jake Manning
Manning does a Boy Scout gimmick.
This ended up being a great match. Again, another simple yet effective story. Manning was running wild and the Graysons kept getting involved. The crowd bit HUGE for a false finish that saw Manning do a straightjacket fall from the top rope to the floor while he read his Boy Scout manual. Then when he got Anthony in the ring the crowd exploded at the near finish. Anthony got the win after one of the Graysons got involved and cut Manning off on the top rope. Anthony hit a top rope Jackhammer for the win.
WINNER: Brian Anthony
MATCH FOUR: “American Sumo” Mike Gamble v. Ron Zombie
I guess the fairest way to describe this match is that it was okay. It didn’t go all that long. Zombie sold a lot for Gamble, and eventually, Zombie fought him off and hit a leaping DDT for the win. Zombie is a local favorite with the promotion, so it was nice for him to get a quick win here.
WINNER: Ron Zombie
MATCH FIVE: Deonna Purrazzo v. Tenille Dashwood
I can’t say enough good things about this match. The only thing I would question is Dashwood playing heel since everyone was there to see her, however, she was fantastic in the role. As always, Purrazzo showed why she is probably the best female wrestler on the independents today. Both showed great poise, told a good story and didn’t have to kill themselves to get a reaction. Dashwood got a win with a running dropkick to the head.
WINNER: Tenille Dashwood
MATCH SIX: Matt Riddle v. “Big Bacon” Brad Hollister
To no one’s surprise, Matt Riddle was involved in another really great match. Hollister has a ton of natural charisma, but he’s just a tad bit off in timing and selling. Other than that, this was really terrific to watch. They traded nearfalls until Hollister got to win with a flurry of moves followed by a sit out powerbomb. The crowd was surprised, but they were into their local guy getting the big win.
WINNER: “Big Bacon” Brad Hollister
MATCH SEVEN: Josh Briggs v. Wrecking Ball Legursky
This match was starting to gain some steam and become somewhat of an interesting story when Wrecking Ball’s manager Jared (doing a trust fund gimmick) came in the ring and jumped on Briggs’ back for the DQ.
The match struggled early. There seemed to be some timing and footwork issues on the part of Legursky. Then Briggs took a suplex on the wood gym floor and I had to question his sanity. He nailed a huge Undertaker/Wrestlemania dive to the floor that landed perfect and got an enormous reaction. Other than that, it was slow to build but was eventually working itself out.
After the bell, Mick Foley came out to the ring and used Mr. Socko on Jared and dragged him to the back. He then came back to the ring and stood tall with Briggs as Legursky walked out. After the match, Mick cut a promo putting over NEW and all of the people for coming out in terrible weather. He then said how sad he was that there were so many Bullet Club shirts and no Cactus Jack shirts. He then saw two fans with Foley shirts and brought them in the ring. He then told Nick and Matt Jackson to take that because he’s over.
WINNER: Josh Briggs

WWA Hysteria 58 - Relapse 2018

After a long absence due to weather, Hysteria is back!

On how he got the opportunity to work for Ring of Honor: “I was trained in Cleveland, Ohio by a guy named Raymond Rowe. Raymond Rowe, obviously a former two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion, and a former IWGP Tag Team Champion with Hanson, ‘War Machine.’ The whole time I was up there riding up with them. They were taking me as many places as they could, showing me as much as they could. Then after a few years of that, Raymond moved to Texas so I was on my own and doing my own thing. I felt that I had sort of peaked to where I was at. I was one of the best guys there in the area, and really wasn’t getting the opportunity to be in the ring with people that were better than me. That is the only way that you get better at doing this, is to be around people that are better than you. I don’t say that trying to be cocky or anything, but I felt that I was in the same level as everyone else, but I wasn’t getting any better. Raymond Rowe convinced me to move to Texas, and the few years that I have moved down here to Texas I have made tremendous strides.
“Also, with Wildcat Sports in Louisiana and different places like VIP in Dallas, WrestleCircus in Austin, and really just getting a chance to re-start. When I went to Ring of Honor I was riding with Ray Rowe; went to a few shows there just trying to get my face seen and talk with folks to network, eventually being around the guys and talking to them and getting to know them. They found out I was a pretty good dude and I was pretty okay at this wrestling thing. They gave me a shot; they liked what they saw. They gave me some critiques to work on, and each point that I came back I improved in each areas that they asked me to work on I improved in and that goes a long way so eventually they saw me keep it together and that was their chance that they saw that they could do something with me.”
On how it was working with Raymond Rowe and War Machine in general: “We just really played off of our real history. He is one of my best friends in the world. He is the Godfather of my daughter. We have been tight since I was 20 years old. When you are in there with one of your best friends, you are in their with someone that you consider family and blood, you up your game. Not only do you want to make him proud, but you want to prove to the world that he wasn’t lying when—I wanted to prove personally that I wanted to make him look like Nostradamus when he would tell people that my guy is great here and then we go out and do it and show them. To me, there is nothing better than that. When I am able to tell you that I am going to do something and then watch you watch me do it, that to me is very fulfilling. We definitely wanted to go out there that not only are we two of the best tag teams in the world, but if you give us the platform and the time to do it then we are going to make it special, so that was really cool.”
On how he chose to have that kind of wrestling style: “I have always been attracted to that style. I have always been deceptively athletic, as I like to say. A lot of people see me and think that he is this, but I have been boxing since I was 5 years old. I have been playing Football, Wrestling and Track & Field my entire life, since Middle School. I am a very athletic person. Now that I am changing my body up more to reflect that reality it doesn’t catch as many folks off-guard. For me, I have always been able to do these things, and when you look at guys like Vader and Stan Hansen, guys of that sorts, they were always big guys, but they had some special things that they did athletically that made them stand out, so I wanted to mold myself in that image, to not knock anyone’s teeth out, but to be able to run around and do things that I want to do. If you have a well-rounded attack that makes you that much tougher of an opponent.”
On African-American athletes in professional wrestling: “One thing that I feel like black people as a whole need to do is stop dividing ourselves with things. We should be able to look at people’s accomplishments and take them as a win for our culture, as opposed to looking who is in what, or who is classified where, because nobody else does that. No other group does that. We happen to be the only group that does, and it is to our detriment. We should be applauding the fact that Mark Henry was World Heavyweight Champion. We should be applauding that Booker T was a multi-time World Heavyweight Champion. Whatever the case may be as to the circumstance is irrelevant because that is still a representation of our culture. Even with The Rock; I don’t care what he promotes, I don’t care when he does it, or what he does. The fact is that he is who he is and we should see that and accept that and count that as a win like any other group that because it’s not just one way or the other. That is something we look at and we should take pride in. He has done it in a way that nobody else has been able to do it. He can arguably be the best of all-time and that should inspire us to go forward and use that as a platform and as an example to only work harder. When you are talking about the business aspect of it, this is the thing.
“In Professional Wrestling, you have a sport with a majority of the fanbase being one group of people. In this business it is about money, selling tickets, and something people can identify with so it is a tough task to identify with someone who doesn’t look like them. The catch-22 is that you can say, well, you can showcase people in a way that would make them more relatable and put somebody in that spot to be able to see if they can carry that ball; fair enough, but nobody likes to lose money, so the unknown is a problem when you get to making those kind of choices, because while it could be wildly successful, it also could not, you know? Then what do you do? You will always have the opinion of some that they didn’t get a chance, so it is tough. As a Professional Wrestler, who also happens to be black, you have to be able to go out there and prove yourself first. There are so many people that have to go out there and make themselves stars rather than the company going out there making them stars because they have to see that the equity is there. They have to be able to see that if they decide to move forward with you it is a good business decision with them. Speaking about ROH specifically.
“Before I got there, there was a stigma of sorts that it is hard to be successful there if you happen to be a black wrestler. And, at the time I am looking and taking all this stuff in, I am looking, and the World Champion is Jay Lethal. He’s also the Television Champion, so he is breaking new grounds and creating these unprecedented feats and defending two titles on one pay per view, and I’m like, okay, it is possible. Is it going to be easy? Absolutely not. But it’s possible. While there have been many that have come and gone who have a legitimate gripe, it is one of those things that, if I want to change this culture, or change this perception, I can’t do it outside of the company. I have to be there. You can’t change anything in this world sitting on the sidelines. You have to be able to get in there, get your hands dirty, and help. Be the change that you want to see. I think when you look at the history of ROH there’s only two champions who have been black; one being Jay Lethal and the other being Kenny King. When you look at 15 years of a company and the plethora of guys that have come in there, you wonder holy hell, how has that has been possible? You run down the gamut who have gone on to other companies and won championships and gone on to be wildly successful overseas and whoever they work for, you stop and think that perhaps there is some truth to it, but again, there is different circumstances for everybody.
“Again, it is something that is going to be a constant battle. It’s something that will be a constant struggle. But it is also something that is able to be in control if we continue to take strides in being excellent. Will it be a harder road? Absolutely. But at the end of the day nobody can say that anything was given to us, and nobody can say that we didn’t earn it. If you are put in that spot you have no choice, you have to earn it. That would be my answer; to accept the wins that come our way as a culture and build upon those. Try not to quantify and classify who is what or this and that because I am sure they had the person there that made them money like The Rock, [Steve] Austin, [John] Cena, or [Randy] Orton did that they would be able to put someone in that spot. We just have to see who that is.”

Somehow I Missed This Yesterday. TAMMY SYTCH ARRESTED, BEING HELD AS A 'FUGITIVE OF JUSTICE'
Tammy "Sunny" Sytch was arrested in Aberdeen Township, New Jersey on Tuesday
2/27. According to Monmouth County Sheriffs' Office, Sytch is facing six
charges of Contempt - Disobedience/resistance. The charges are related to Sytch
not appearing before the court in two different jurisdictions. As of this
writing, there is no word on the circumstances of the situation that led to
Sytch's New Jersey arrest.
Sytch's bond is listed at $6,000, but she remains incarcerated in Monmouth County, New Jersey as she is also being held as a "fugitive of justice" in Pennsylvania.
In February 2017, Sytch was paroled from Carbon County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania after agreeing to attend a WWE-sponsored rehab. When Sytch was released, the court ordered her to directly report to that in-patient drug rehab in Hanover, PA, successfully complete the in-patient program, successfully complete any aftercare recommendations and report to the Carbon County Probation Office upon completion of the program.
The release also ordered Sytch to perform 75 hours of community service and ordered that she would have a "zero tolerance" threshold for the possession, control and consumption of alcoholic beverages and non-prescribed medication and would also have "zero tolerance" for any missed urine screens without a legitimate excuse.
It was noted in Sytch's February 2017 release orders that her failure to adhere to the Judge's order would result in a petition to revoke parole." As it turned out, the court's petition to revoke Sytch's parole was filed just a little over six months later, on 8/22/17. A bench warrant for Sytch's arrest was issued the following day, but remained under the radar publicly. What led to the court revoking Sytch's parole is, at this point, unknown.
Sytch was arrested four times between 2015 and 2016 in Pennsylvania. She plead guilty to a trio of DUIs after completing an initial rehabilitation program. Judge Joseph T. Matika sentenced the WWE Hall of Famer to 97 days in prison, only to then give her credit for 95 days in rehab and 2 days in jail. Sytch was released without spending a day in prison. At the time, Sytch was warned by Judge Matika that if she got into trouble at any point during her probation, there would be consequences.
However, just 18 days into her probation, Sytch was again arrested, this time in Northampton County, PA. In that case, Sytch plead guilty to driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility (no insurance), displaying plate card in improper vehicle (license plates placed on a car to which they didn't belong), operating a vehicle without valid inspection, and driving without Evidence of an Emission Inspection, which is required in State of PA).
In that case, Sytch was also fined $1,496.45 as part of an agreement made with Prosecutors that saw them drop the most severe charge, receiving stolen property. Prosecutors also dropped a charge of fraudulent use or removal of registered licensed plates.
Pennsylvania court records show that Sytch's probation revocation was officially delivered on 2/28, the same day she was arrested in New Jersey. What likely happened is that when Sytch was arrested in New Jersey, the bench warrant was found electronically when she was being processed. Until that point, her case had been listed as inactive as she could not be found to be arrested, since she was no longer living in Pennsylvania.
Based on court records, Sytch could again be facing up to five years imprisonment (based on the original verdict against her, which the court could choose to impose) plus additional penalties.
Sytch had been making independent bookings and signing appearances in recent months, including a signing in Philadelphia this past January.
