Eagle-eared readers have written about Salina de la Renta dropping the line last night that she had received a phone call from "Boyle Heights." Boyle Heights was the home of the El Rey Network's Lucha Underground Temple. In asking around today, we are told that wasn't a line tossed in for no reason and this was the latest bread crumb dropped in a story that dates back to the Pulp Fusion digital shows where it was claimed De La Renta owed "dangerous" people a lot of money. Sure took Ring Of Honor Long Enough As They FINALLY, Announce Marty Scurll's Departure
When contacted by, ROH officials declined to comment further and referred back to the released statement.
Scurll, 32, had signed a new Ring of Honor deal in January 2020 that would have have seen him take on lead booking duties for the company but the first weekend where he would have been in that position, the COVID-19 pandemic led to Ring of Honor canceling their March Anniversary show PPV and subsequent Past vs. Present TV taping in Las Vegas.
Before ROH could resume production, Scurll was among the names identified during the #SpeakingOut movement with a woman in Great Britain alleging that Scurll took advantage of her while she was drunk and underage. Scurll released several statements in response, later making his Twitter account private,
ROH released the following statement in June 2020 regarding the accusation:
"At Ring of Honor, we pride ourselves on the respectful and inclusive environment we have built, one that ensures all employees can work in a place where they feel safe and respected. We take these matters extremely seriously and have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this type of behavior. Ring of Honor has launched an immediate investigation into the claims made against its currently contracted wrestlers. We will update you on our investigation once it concludes.”
Scurll was removed from the ROH website roster in October 2020. At the time, when asked by PWInsider.com about the investigation, ROH officials stated it was still ongoing and that they could not comment.
Scurll has not been at any ROH TV tapings or PPVs since the promotion resumed production and had not been involved in any behind the scenes responsibilities.
Scurll had worked for Ring of Honor from 2016 through 2020.

Former NWA World Champion Announces Retirement From Wrestling

(Little Rock, AR) – Former 3x NWA World Tag Team champion, “The LVR Boy” Matt Riviera, has officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling. Addressing his retirement, Matt Riviera had this to say:
“I seriously appreciate the support that I have received for the duration of my time as an active talent and promoter in pro wrestling. It is time to open a new chapter in my life by closing this one. I wish everyone the best.”
With a career spanning 20+ years as a pro wrestler & promoter, Matt Riviera promoted his first pro wrestling event at age 17, and made his in-ring debut at the age of 21.
Matt Riviera has won several championships over the years, including becoming a 3x NWA World Tag Team champion with Rob Conway, as part of a tag team known as “The Iron Empire”. Over the last few years, he has been involved in a high profile feud with WWE Hall of Fame member, Jerry “The King” Lawler.
As a promoter, he was the Founder & Executive Producer of Traditional Championship Wrestling (TCW). TCW would span from 2009 to 2014, eventually gaining national distribution on the Pursuit Channel, as well as international distribution on television networks throughout the world.
In 2014, Matt Riviera promoted the Mid-South Legends Fanfest during WrestleMania 30 weekend. This event, which included appearances by “Cowboy” Bill Watts and many others, is the ONLY FANFEST IN HISTORY THAT HAS EVER BEEN HELD in dedication to the Mid-South Wrestling territory. This event would also mark the last public appearances by Mr. Wrestling II, Kamala, and The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers).
Matt Riviera’s final match was in the main event of the Jerry “The King” Lawler 50th Anniversary Celebration at The Ballpark in Jackson, TN on September 26th, 2020, in a Six Man Tag Team Thunderdome Cage Match, teaming with “Wildfire” Tommy Rich & “Dangerous” Doug Gilbert with Ron Ratcatcher to take on Jerry Lawler & the Rock n’ Roll Express with “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart. Must Be The Week For Dumb Asses As Dylan Bostic Gets Punked For Crying About AEW Ripping Him off The Day Of Brodie Lee's Death.
Ohio Valley Wrestling talent Dylan Bostic took to Twitter on Sunday to share a story about him getting a gig in AEW, but not receiving the full payment for the work he did.
Bostic later deleted the tweet after receiving backlash from fans and fellow wrestlers for trying to stir controversy on a day where everyone in the pro wrestling world was mourning Brodie Lee’s death.
The Head Trainer for Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), Rip Rogers, took to Twitter a few days ago to accuse AEW of paying OVW talent, Dylan Bostic, and another talent named Flash Flanagan $80 less than they agreed upon for their work in AEW.

Wrestling legend Dutch Mantel (fka Zeb Colter in WWE) is getting some heat on social media this week after making a joke about the RV bombing that took place in downtown Nashville, Tennessee this past weekend.
Dutch, who began working behind-the-scenes with TNA in 2003 but eventually left due to creative differences before briefly returning in 2017, joked that the bomber was aiming for the old TNA headquarters a few blocks away.
"The FBI just released a new finding in the Nashville bombing case that the bomber was not targeting the AT&T building. He was aiming for the old TNA offices a couple of blocks away. @TherealAbyss @sonjaydutterson @DanEnglerWWE @TwoManPowerTrip @ScottDAmore @RealJakeHager," Dutch wrote.
