An opportunity for the Intercontinental Title was up for grabs on Friday Night SmackDown as Sheamus, Ricochet, Solo Sikoa and Rey Mysterio clashed in a Fatal 4-Way Match. Mysterio replaced Karrion Kross in the match after Kross was injured in an accident before the show.
