The NWA - Two Years Ago To Now And How I Was Right THEN? And Now..

The pictures of the article you see above i wrote Two years ago when Billy Corgan first bought the National Wrestling Alliance. I wrote it for a fanzine based in Australia that Dann Lennard puts out.. And besides this article, I said everywhere I could, to as many people as I could that, THIS.. Was gonna be the wrestling I want, that THIS, will be the wrestling that I missed.

Of course the other wrestling writers had their doubts, panned it, made fun of it and even Jim Cornette made fun of it as well.

Here's a link where you can hear Cornette and Conrad poke fun of Corgan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qyRvnDcGk4

Isn't it funny and ironic that after the bashing, Cornette now works, for the company he made fun of.. Bet nobody has the guts to call Cornette out on that.. The Meltzers, Scherer's Johnson's, Mitchell's, Keller's, etc etc.. won't have them kind of guts.. So In a way I did it for them here.. I did what they won't suck up the courage to do and they can thank me for it..

Conrad's crack at the end of that saying he doesn't think Corgan knows what he's doing? I bet he's choking on them words now.. Because.. LOOK at where we're at with the NWA now..

The "Ten Pounds of Gold" series became a must see thing for many many fans who have been disillusioned with what the WWE and (Now) Impact Wrestling put out.. Nick Aldis, who TNA/Impact blatantly didn't know how to use right has become the forefront and face of the NWA as the world champion, carrying it and conducting himself like a true world champion should do.. Add to that Allysin Kay (another that Impact couldn't push right if their life depended on it) is their womens champion and thus, same as Aldis, has become a face for the company.. And add guys like James Storm and Eli Drake to the mix and you see how Impact Wrestling fucked up in so many ways by not pushing these talents correctly and now..are at the forefront of showing that the old school NWA style, with a flair for the current era, has been the ultimate 'fuck you' back to Impact because Impact's creative department is truly 'creatively challenged'.

Thru the "Ten Pounds Of Gold" Series, along with bringing back the National championship, Womens title and tag team titles, along with resurrecting the Crockett Cup in a very good fashion.. Corgan obviously DOES KNOW what he's doing and has been doing it quite well.

So well in fact that he brought back what many many fans have been wanting for the longest time.. That old school TV studio kind of wrestling that was made famous in Georgia Championship Wrestling, that many other territories also had (AWA, Memphis, etc etc).. This past Tuesday NWA Powerr debuted on the NWA YouTube channel and on Facebook, at 6:05 PM (tribute to the old NWA Saturday night show)

In the 'sneak peak' of the Powerr show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwW7H-LVKZ8 ) Corgan said he doesn't want to try to be like everyone else , we're going the complete opposite direction and guess what. Slowly methodically what he has done has become a great success and with the debut of the Powerr show from Atlanta Georgia, everything I said two years ago has proven me right. Where others panned it, criticized it and made fun of it back then? I was the one championing for it and seeing how great the Powerr show really is? The fact I've been proven right over just about everyone else is a nice feeling and justification. Another fact that all the other writers won't have the balls to admit either.

The Powerr show that debuted this week (which you can see right here at this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aegl1dWAT_8&t=2016s ) is EXACTLY.. What I've been hoping for, is exactly what I knew could exist again and not one person anywhere has said anything bad about it because simply, there isn't anything bad you can say about it. The only ones who may try might be the current era marks who have no clue because they've been educated on WWE for so long or, are just jumping on the AEW bandwagon cause it's the 'current cool thing' to do. But for a die hard long time wrestling fan who wanted it the way it used to be, the way it should be? The NWA Powerr show is the way it's going to be for many many fans such as myself who have wanted this for so long.

Even 'The Rock' Dwayne Johnson put it over well, which 'm sure Vince McMahon will be 'really overjoyed' to see, LOL)

So fans want pro wrestling and tired of WWE's bullshit endiongs, scripted promos and no logic in booking? Corgan has proven he can, do it and has proven it every step of the way for the last two years all the way up to what I saw was the best show I've seen in awhile. The way it's presented is what others should watch and take notes from because this, is how it's done..

And to know I've been right for two years straight and counting when it comes to this topic? The smile is very evident.. And now the fans who've wanted great wrestling with great talents that aren't out of the cookie cutter way of McMahon's company, and don't have all that flippy floppy acrobatic bullshit either? NWA Powerr is the show to watch.. And thankfully.. As a fan since age 11.. I now have my kind of wrestling back. And you can thank Billy Corgan, the one many made fun of for buying the NWA, for bringing this back..

I wonder, how many of the people who made fun of Corgan two years ago will step up and admit their wrong now? I'll bet money that none of them? Will have them kind of balls.. But they will, be watching it every week, just like I will be, and the fans that McMahon and other companies lost, will be watching as well.
