Keiji Mutoh aka The Great Muta announced today that he would be undergoing a
double knee replacement surgery next month. Muta noted that he did not know
whether he would be able to return to the ring after the surgery but would make
his best effort to do so:
Mutoh, 55 years old, is a former NWA champion, IWGP Heavyweight champion, All Japan Pro Wrestling Triple Crown champion and NWA TV champion, among many other championships. Muta has achieved countless accolades over the course of his incredible career, including popularizing the moonsault in the United States during his run in the NWA in the late 1980s.
