CHICAGO -- Major League Wrestling (MLW) today announced Colonel Robert Parker has been approved for a manager license in MLW and will appear at MLW: Intimidation Games Saturday, April 18 at Cicero Stadium in Chicago. The event will be a MLW FUSION TV taping for beIN SPORTS.
While details are sketchy, the office of Colonel Robert Parker released a brief statement touting his presence at MLW’s April 18th card in Chicago at Cicero Stadium where he promises a reckoning for all in MLW.
But what is behind the blowhard Colonel Parker’s statement? Could he be revealing his first signee in nearly two years?
There are whispers Parker is recruiting current MLW athletes as well as some that are not presently on the roster. Many are intrigued to be managed and have their fights promoted by a man whose family’s ties in the sport of professional date back 100 years to 1920.
Southern wrestling promoter and manager Colonel Robert Parker has a sterling reputation for presenting some of the sport’s top grapplers.
The Colonel was last seen leading the charge of his Stud Stable, which came up short in the 2018 Battle Riot. In his two years managing and promoting fights for his boys in MLW, Parker managed to secure title fights and marquee bouts, beating out several others for a presence on prestigious cards.
Colonel Parker joins a trend of managers and promoters representing athletes in the MLW, including Dan Lambert and AAA co-founder Konnan.
Having managed the likes of Steve Austin, Sid Vicious and Harlem Heat as well as promoting wrestling throughout the south, Colonel Parker has a stellar track record for success in the sport.
The question is: who will be next to sign on with his Stud Stable? We’ll just have to wait and see in Chicago on April 18.

MLW UNHAPPY WITH ALLEGED WWE TAMPERING
Major League Wrestling attorneys engaged WWE attorneys this week, who allege that WWE are attempting to tamper with contracted MLW talents.
When asked if this was in relation to Davey Boy Smith Jr (Harry Smith) appearing this past Wednesday on WWE's The Bump online series, we were told it was not in regard to Smith's appearance but regarding "multiple talents."
Since the advent of MLW signing talents in 2018, the language in the contracts specifically forbids them from working WWE dates, so any direct communication with signed MLW talents would be seen as a breach of contract by MLW management. Obviously, however, discussion via third parties has gone on in pro wrestling since the days of Frank Gotch and will always happen. MLW has strengthened the exclusivity of their contracts with talents since the advent of All Elite Wrestling's launch last year as well.
One MLW source claimed that the promotion had an "abundance" of evidence should the matter need to go to court, but hoped that would not happen.
There was a time period several years back where Ring of Honor pushed back on WWE, feeling they were reaching out to contracted ROH talents, which led to WWE waiting 90 days past ROH deals expiring before they would even talk to former Ring of Honor talents. I assume something similar would happen here.
I should also note that WWE sources downplayed the potential of any such "tampering".

WILL OSPREAY WINS REVPRO BRITISH HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE AT HIGH STAKES
Will Ospreay is the new RevPro British Heavyweight champion.
Ospreay defeated Zack Sabre Jr. at today's High Stakes 2020 event at York Hall in London, England to capture the championship for the first time. He has previously won the Cruiserweight title twice and the Undisputed British Tag Team title once.
Ospreay and Sabre have been feuding over the title in New Japan Pro Wrestling in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Sabre defeated Ospreay to retain the title on the second day of New Beginning in Sapporo.
Following that match, Ospreay was able to score the win over Sabre in an elimination match featuring members of CHAOS and Suzuki-gun on the February 4 Road to New Beginning show. Ospreay then challenged Sabre to a match at High Stakes on Twitter, saying the win was proof that he could pin Sabre’s shoulders.
Two other titles changed hands today at High Stakes. Oku defeated ELP to win the Cruiserweight championship, while Gisele Shaw defeated Zoe Lucas to win the Women’s championship.

Following that match, Ospreay was able to score the win over Sabre in an elimination match featuring members of CHAOS and Suzuki-gun on the February 4 Road to New Beginning show. Ospreay then challenged Sabre to a match at High Stakes on Twitter, saying the win was proof that he could pin Sabre’s shoulders.
Two other titles changed hands today at High Stakes. Oku defeated ELP to win the Cruiserweight championship, while Gisele Shaw defeated Zoe Lucas to win the Women’s championship.

On his relationship with Harley Race: “I went into the situation wanting to earn his respect. I wanted to earn Harley Race’s respect. Eight time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race, and I came out with the love of a man that I will cherish for the rest of my life. My children call him Pappy. I love that man. If it wasn’t for him, I would not have anything of what I have today; and when I was with the WWE, when I got let go, when my wife lost a child, he was always the first person that I called going, ‘What do I do? What do I do?’ And he was always there to answer that phone call and give me that advice. I miss him dearly. I just, I can’t say enough good things about the person, not only the wrestler, but the person.”
On Nick Aldis leading the NWA: “They (NWA) were smart about who they picked first with Nick Aldis. That man, as much as I want his title, which I do, and that’s my goal, but he’s a damn fine, I mean, a fantastic representation of what we’re trying to express in and out of the ring. He’s classy. He’s got respect. He can speak very well. But he’s also got talent in the ring. When you step into the ring with that guy, you know what he can do and he’s the best of the best.”
On his frustration with WWE creative and a conversation with Vince McMahon in catering: “There were four or five times we weren’t being put on TV and we didn’t know why, and we went to Vince one time. We were off TV for four or five weeks and we were writing ideas for us and giving them to the writers, the people who should be writing the ideas, people getting paid to write ideas. We were doing it for ourselves, and they weren’t getting anywhere.
“So we went, we tracked down Vince, we saw him in catering. The one time he was by himself, and we sat right next to him and we said, ‘Vince, you’re not putting us on TV. We want to know why.’ And he goes, he looked at Lance (Cade), he goes, ‘I hate your fake black hair.’ And he looked at me and he goes, ‘I hate your pasty white skin.’ We said, ‘okay.’ We got up. The next day I was tan, my partner was blonde. I’ll be damned if we weren’t on TV that next week. And I’m like, wow, why couldn’t it have just happened three or four weeks ago? Saved us, everybody, time, money; and that was like the beginning of my disdain with the business. Like I worked my whole career. I’m trained by one of the toughest guys in the business.
“I just went through six months of hell. And my career is halted because somebody couldn’t send an email or make a phone call or just give me a heads up. That’s where my career was, and it really bothered me like, wow, all that hard work and one lazy a****** putting a hold on it. You know, cause that’s, to me, that’s all It was, laziness. You’re paying me, you’re putting me on your TV. You’re telling me you ain’t got enough time and energy to give me a two minute phone call and tell me to change something so it works better for you? And it really started leading me down my path of maybe this business isn’t made for me. Maybe I was born in the wrong time frame. Maybe I’m the round peg in the square hole. And it slowly started just making me have disdain for the pro wrestling business.”
On talent getting opportunities in the NWA: “The only way, one of the main reasons the company is going to survive is if the company goes along with what the people are wanting. And what I mean by that is if the fans are getting fired up behind a Ricky Starks, there’s no political bullshit in the back man. Well, they’re getting behind Ricky, we’re going with Ricky. Getting behind Eli (Drake), we’re going with Eli. They’re getting behind Ken (Anderson), we’re going with Ken. They’re getting by Nick Aldis, we’ll go with Nick Aldis. And it’s the place that a worker wants to come because if you’re going out and you’re producing, you’re putting good matches out, you’ve got the people behind you in whatever form you need – heel or baby face – and you’re doing your job, you’re going to get rewarded. You’re going to start getting more. You’re going to be start being put in more high-pressure situations. That’s how the wrestling business should be, and at one time was like that.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Ted Dibiase's Nonprofit Reportedly Received $2 Million In Welfare Money
The state Mississippi reportedly gave out $2.1 million in welfare money to "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase's nonprofit, "Heart of David" Ministry, according to The Clarion-Ledger and state records.
According to The Clarion-Ledger, "Heart of David" had meager funds for three months until Ted's son, Brett DiBiase, was hired as the deputy administrator at the Mississippi Department of Human Services. The payments to "Heart of David" began in May 2017 and continued until the current fiscal year. The non-profit received as much as $900,000 one year from the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
The WWE Hall of Famer founded Heart of David 20 years ago. Heart of David is a "ministry of evangelism and encouragement with the goal of challenging men and women to strive to be dedicated followers of Christ."

Headlining Impact Wrestling's 2/21 Twitch special Outbreak will be Impact Champion Tessa Blanchard & Daga vs. X-Division Champion Ace Austin & Jake Crist.
New Impact Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Jessika Havok is set for the 2/22 Impact+ special from the Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky. Also set for the show is Daga vs. Jake Crist, Moose vs. Rhino and Impact Champion Tessa Blanchard vs. Ace Austin headlining.
There has been talk recently of adding some independent promotions to the Impact+ streaming service.
Impact is sending Eddie Edwards vs. Michael Elgin to tomorrow's Pro Wrestling Revolver event in Dayton, Ohio. The bout will be filmed for Impact TV.
Dave Penzer is coming back to ring announce the TNA reunion event at Wrestlecon over Wrestlemania weekend. The premise for the show is that for one night only, all old political grudges have been thrown aside and anyone from Impact's past has been invited to return if they wish.

For those who have asked, the creative direction within the company since the onset of 2020 has primarily been Tony Khan. The EVPs all have a say in what they are doing and are trusted, but all of the current storylines and pushes are Khan edicts and he's been very hands on with laying out exactly what he wants out of each segment in recent weeks. Chris Jericho remains very involved with working to get the newer stars in the company over.
The Double or Nothing pre-sale today was extremely strong and all signs are the PPV will sell out when it goes on sale tomorrow officially.

Jeff Cobb Reportedly A Free Agent While On AEW Dynamite
. it was announced during this week's Dynamite episode from Austin, TX that AEW World Champion Chris Jericho had hired Cobb to take out Jon Moxley in a singles match on next Wednesday's show. Jericho is set to defend his title against Moxley at AEW's Revolution pay-per-view at the end of this month. Cobb later made a surprise debut at the end of this week's Dynamite, which came after Moxley defeated Santana in the main event. The Inner Circle attacked Moxley after the match and Jericho dropped him with a Judas Effect. Jericho then called Cobb out to the ring. Cobb came out to a reaction and then left Moxley laying after hitting a Tour of the Islands. Cobb celebrated with The Inner Circle to end the show.
Cobb is not currently signed to an AEW contract, according to PWInsider. The ROH & NJPW star remains a free agent. It was noted that Cobb's appearance on Dynamite was not a sign that AEW has a new working relationship with Ring of Honor or New Japan Pro Wrestling. Cobb was booked directly by AEW as he's free to work anywhere he wants. There's no word yet on if Cobb's looking to sign with AEW or any other promotion soon.

TEDDY HART ARRESTED ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES
Teddy Hart, former MLW roster member, frequent indie wrestler, and New Hart Foundation member, was arrested Tuesday in Richmond, Virginia, on drug related charges.
The 40-year-old born Edward Annis was charged with possession of a Schedule III narcotic (a Class 1 misdemeanor) and possession with intent to sell or distribute.
Hart was incarcerated at the Richmond County Jail after being booked at midnight. It's unknown if he has been released on bail, but he does have an April 23rd court date.
Schedule III drugs include codeine, anabolic steroids, hydrocodone, and others in that family.
Hart faces up to a year in jail and up to a $2500 fine for the misdemeanor while the possession with intent charge also carries jail time of between 1-10 years in prison or up to a year in jail with a fine to not exceed $2500.
Hart had really made a name for himself on the indie scene the past few years and was a big part of MLW's relaunch from 2017 through 2019. The company released him in early-December, a month after he came under question due to a Facebook post accusing he and another wrestler with the disappearance of Hart's ex-girlfriend, something he denied.
Hart has had his share of legal issues throughout the years. He was arrested in December of 2014 by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on multiple sexual assault charges involving two women, which were dropped in June of 2016. He was most recently arrested on January 1, 2017 after attempting to evade arrest after being pulled over for a hazardous traffic violation in Arlington, Texas. Those charges were also eventually dropped.
The 40-year-old born Edward Annis was charged with possession of a Schedule III narcotic (a Class 1 misdemeanor) and possession with intent to sell or distribute.
Hart was incarcerated at the Richmond County Jail after being booked at midnight. It's unknown if he has been released on bail, but he does have an April 23rd court date.
Schedule III drugs include codeine, anabolic steroids, hydrocodone, and others in that family.
Hart faces up to a year in jail and up to a $2500 fine for the misdemeanor while the possession with intent charge also carries jail time of between 1-10 years in prison or up to a year in jail with a fine to not exceed $2500.
Hart had really made a name for himself on the indie scene the past few years and was a big part of MLW's relaunch from 2017 through 2019. The company released him in early-December, a month after he came under question due to a Facebook post accusing he and another wrestler with the disappearance of Hart's ex-girlfriend, something he denied.

The ongoing issue with The Villain Marty Scurll and The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis continued this weekend at Ring of Honor Wrestling's Free Enterprise Event. A few weeks ago, Marty Scurll was offered a unique deal by the man holding the Ten Pounds of Gold for a match at Crockett Cup.
Nick Aldis is in the main event of NWA Powerrr, teaming with Strictly Business team mate Royce Isaacs vs. The Rock N' Roll Express in a continuation of the battles started in season two.
The NWA TV Championship is on the line as Absolute Ricky Starks defends the championship for the second time since winning at it NWA Hard Times. Starks defeated Zicky Dice in his first defense. The Lucky 7 rule gives the incentive for The NWA TV Champion to defend the title 7 times in a row (pinfall, submission or time-limit draw) and earn a shot at the Ten Pounds of Gold. This week, Ricky Starks opponent is Matt Cross.
Melina is back in action this week as she faces Tasha Steelz. Last week during the Thunder Rosa vs. Allysin Kay NWA Women's Championship match, Melina made it clear that she wanted a shot at the championship. That lead the National Wrestling Alliance asking her to show what she has in this match.

Matt Hardy Done With WWE
WWE did an injury angle on this week's RAW that saw Randy Orton take out Matt Hardy after Matt confronted Orton over the recent attack on WWE Hall of Famer Edge. It was speculated that WWE did this angle to write Matt off TV as his contract reportedly expires on Sunday, March 1.
Matt is done with WWE and this was the segment to write him out of the storylines, according to a new report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet and WWE Backstage.
There has been no word on a possible last minute deal between WWE and Matt, but it's been reported that creative differences are a "major hurdle" in the contract negotiations, not pay.

DDT Pro Wrestling Pulls Cody Hall From Tour After Social Media Post
Earlier today, Cody Hall made a comment on Twitter that has since been deleted. He replied to a tweet, "Blah blah coronavirus. Welcome to the yellow fever."
DDT Pro Wrestling announced that they are withdrawing Cody Hall from the remaining dates of his tour with the company because of his tweet. According to their statement, it was Hall's idea to be removed from the tour. Below is their full statement:

Cody Hall has recently made an inappropriate comment on Twitter, and we have contacted him regarding this situation. Cody Hall has apologized to us, and has also suggested withdrawing himself from the remaining dates of his tour as well as relinquishing his Anytime Anywhere contract. In light of the gravity of his comments, we have agreed to all of his suggestions above.
All announced cards including Cody Hall will be changed, and the scheduled KO-D Tag Championship Match in Nagoya on February 24 will be canceled. All updated cards will be announced once they are decided.
DDT Pro-Wrestling will keep working to provide pro-wrestling content that can be enjoyed by the fans. We sincerely apologize to everyone that has been affected by this situation, as well as all of our fans.
