Well Well, Look At What Impact Finally Got Around To Do- KILLER KROSS RELEASED BY IMPACT WRESTLING

Killer Kross is officially a free agent after being at an impasse with Impact Wrestling for months over his contract.
Impact announced today that Kross is no longer with the promotion. The statement on their website simply states: “IMPACT Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Kevin Kesar (Killer Kross).”
Kross has not been seen on Impact television since July when Eddie Edwards defeated him in a first blood match at Slammiversary. It was reported back in May that he had requested his release, but Impact did not grant it. Kross finished his program with Edwards at Slammiversary and has not been used since.
Kross’ contract was set to expire this month, but Impact had the option of rolling the contract over another year.
Although he has not been on Impact television in months, Kross has continued to work independent dates. He’s also been booked by AAA, taking part in their Guerra de Titanes event back on December 14.

Arrest Made In The Death Of Indie Wrestler Matt Travis

Early this morning, New York City police arrested a truck driver who they say fatally struck 25-year-old Matthew Palacios (a.k.a. Matt Travis) in East Harlem last month and left the scene.
Travis was struck while on his bicycle on Saturday, November 9th at 3 a.m. He was found in the middle of the intersection and rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
From the MSN news report, "Investigators determined a Kenworth dump truck traveling southbound on First Avenue made an illegal left turn onto East 125th Street attempting to enter the Willis Avenue Bridge and struck Palacios as he traveled southbound on a bike path coming off the bridge."
48-year-old Luc Vu has been charged with reckless driving, failure to yield to a bicyclist, failure to obey a traffic device, drive left of pavement marking and failure to exercise due care. It was noted that it is not clear if the driver realized that someone had been hit.
Travis was a New York City independent wrestler, and he wrestled for both House of Glory and Game Changer Wrestling.
Amazing Red, who trained him, led a campaign on Twitter saying, "It's been almost a month already... nothing about the driver, or the company came out yet?!? "How hard could this be to investigate?!" This is not ok!! We have to make sure theres Justice for Matty!! #JusticeForMattTravis (Please help share this)"
#JusticeForMattTravis trended across the wrestling community with fans and other wrestlers spreading Red's message in hope of finding the driver. Red tweeted out his thanks for everyone that supported himself and Travis and says that he will continue to honor Travis' memory.

Arn Anderson Podcast #13: #AskArnyThing

Primo Colon Reveals Why WWE Suspended Him, When His WWE Contract Expires

It was recently reported that both Robert Roode and Primo Colon were suspended for 30 days following a WWE wellness policy violation. Although the initial belief was that both superstars tested positive for a prohibited substance, Primo is claiming that his suspension is because he didn't travel back to the United States from Puerto Rico to take the tests that WWE required.
In an interview with Primera Hora, Primo explained what happened in detail.
"I was not on the road, I was not scheduled for any event in the near future. I am in Puerto Rico when they call me suddenly, not to use me, but to travel for a doping test. I was ready to do it, but I told them that I was in Puerto Rico and that I was willing to go to a place that they chose to test me without any problem. I was not going to pay for a trip to just get tested for doping," Primo said.
Primo expected some sort of direction on where to go once WWE had decided on where his test would be, however, it wasn't until Primo was suspended that he received any information regarding the matter. He hopes that fans will now know the truth because his reputation is important to him.
"Then I didn't hear anything from the company about it and I thought they were going to call me when they found a place to do the test," Primo said. "Almost two months pass and I get the letter that I am suspended, according to them, because I refused to take the test. And that is not correct. They took it as I was out of the country [and unavailable], but I was available.
"I don't want them to say that I failed to test positive because that is totally false and incorrect," Primo continued. "They usually do their doping test at events; someone appears to collect the urine of fighters, employees, referees to do their evaluation once a month. I was in Puerto Rico. I have to clarify it because my reputation is worth more than any check."
Primo revealed that his current contract ends in October of 2020. Even though he's rarely used on WWE TV or live events, Primo and his brother are still employed and regularly given a check by WWE.
"I have a contract with them until October 2020. They can call me and use me if they want," Primo explained. "If they don't want to use me, they still have to pay me. They are using new talent and so is the [rest of the] industry."

The WWE's TLC PPV Was 'So Important'? McMahon And Triple H Didn't Bother To Go To It (LMAO)

Vince McMahon and Triple H reportedly missed Sunday night's WWE TLC pay-per-view. There was no word on why they missed the show, but they did check in with the officials running the show.

RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman led the red brand side of things, including Women's TLC main event, while Bruce Prichard was in charge of the SmackDown matches. Vince and Triple H sat in on the production meeting via conference call, and the show was put together the way Vince wanted it, but they were not in Minneapolis Sunday.

It was also noted that it's "pretty much universally agreed" that last night's pay-per-view from the Target Center in Minneapolis was handled poorly, apparently in regards to the injury to WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane. There's a feeling that a doctor should have been sent out during the main event, with the power to stop the match if needed, or they could have gone right to the finish, or taken Sane to the back with Asuka left to work a Handicap Match, when it was apparent that Sane was knocked out. It's been  noted that the main issue with a direction change like that was that they weren't doing a title change and Asuka defeating both Charlotte Flair and RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch by herself would have required many changes in plans.

Sane is reportedly not cleared to wrestle right now. There's no official word on if she suffered a concussion, but she was telling people that she's alright.

Sin Cara Says "Screw You WWE" (in A Way)

Regarding Sin Cara using that name in AAA last night at Guerra de Titanes, there was no deal worked out with him or WWE to be allowed to use the name. He was on a 90 day non-compete.  We'll see how this transpires.

Hell Brock Lesner did it when he went to New Japan and had a 90 day no compete clause. He pretty much said "Fuck You Vince, I do what i want" and went to Japan. And look where Brock is now, LOL.

The opening round kicks off as the classic tournament gets underway featuring two bouts on FUSION. Decorated grappler TJP returns to MLW as he battles the fast and furious Brian Pillman Jr. With many sensing Pillman’s ascension in the league imminent, the Rogue Prince’s participation in the Opera Cup will be a critical stage in his progress. The flashy TJP backs up his swagger in the squared circle using a hybrid wrestling style relying on lucha, strong style and technical wrestling to overwhelm adversaries. Will Pillman’s tenacious albeit unorthodox approach prevail? Will the versatile veteran TJP advance in the Opera Cup? In the other opening round Opera Cup bout, pound-for-pound one of the most gifted grapplers in the world, Timothy Thatcher looks to out-wrestle all and claim the prestigious Opera Cup and win the first tournament since 1948. Back in Kauai, Ross and Marshall Von Erich seek out advice from their father Kevin after the shocking betrayal by “Traitor” Tom Lawlor. Tis the season for… the GIFT TRAIN? Tommaso Ciampa Recalls ROH Telling Him How Little He Was Worth

Before Tommaso Ciampa became a staple of NXT, he was in Ring of Honor for four years. He won the ROH Television Title and had a couple of World Title matches, but was never able to break through as a main eventer.
Ciampa talked about his character in ROH and what led him to leave the promotion when he joined Lilian Garcia's podcast.
"I'm in Ring of Honor about four years. I was cast as The Sicilian Psychopath there and right from the start one thing that felt weird where I got signed after a tryout because Jim Cornette saw me and 'Delirious' Hunter Johnston and they really liked my promo. The match was fine, but they really liked my promo," said Ciampa.
"I got signed and was put in with a group called The Embassy. I had three managers, not one, four technically because it was myself, R.D Evans, Prince Nana, Ernie Osiris, and Mia Yim. Mia wasn't a manager; she was like the female wrestler. I had a lot of mouthpieces and it was very confusing. For the first two years, I wasn't allowed to speak. They hired me for my promos and I wasn't allowed to speak so I was like what the heck is going on?"
Outside of the lack of promos, the matches Ciampa was in were subpar as well. He says that ROH usually brought in enhancement talent for him to work with and he couldn't really show off his abilities in those short, squash matches.
"I remember hitting a point where I was like, I am not getting better here because I was begging to have matches with Chris Hero or El Generico [Sami Zayn], Claudio, but I just never got to do it so it was just so frustrating," revealed Ciampa. "I had finally come to the point where I was catching the momentum but then I had torn my ACL, which is kind of the story of my life where I keep getting injured from an ACL. I came back from that and really started to pick up momentum but I just felt like I was hitting this imaginary ceiling where it was like, man, I don't know.
"To me, it felt – and I might have been wrong – but because of the psychopathic character I just felt like it was too distant from me and I couldn't humanize it enough for that fanbase. Ring of Honor fanbase is so real and so true. It's like an NXT fanbase; it's the same fanbase. You can't just feed them crap. You have to be raw with them. If you are not raw with them then they will see through it and not going to buy it. I felt that way that they weren't buying it. I kept asking if we can switch this or get rid of the nickname. I know it was little stuff, but to me they were purposeful things that we needed to do."
Ciampa eventually was able to have a trial match with Jay Briscoe and the two knocked it out the park. They got great feedback and a pay-per-view match between the two was set up before, out of nowhere, the match was changed to a four-way.
"The reason why it was switched to a four-way was because the people in the office didn't believe that I could sell on a pay per view," stated Ciampa. "It was disheartening, especially because the match went so well and I and Jay Briscoe play off of each other well. I felt like they can run like six months with us because we can both talk and we both play the prototypical guy. This is a dude and he's getting ready to fight. There's nothing wrong with the MMA style but we both played that 'man' character where he will fight you in a bar or in the street. It just felt like we meshed, but then it became this four-way match and then I find out why it became this four-way match and I was like, wow, that is rough and my contract is coming up."
Right when Ciampa's contract came up for negotiations, ROH signed a deal with Sinclair TV which would have presumably been a good sign for the amount of money he was looking for. He was working a second job at a gym at the time and believed he would be able to sign a good deal with ROH that would allow him to leave that other job.
"I am thinking that this is the break that I needed where I don't need a job anymore and I can have a job in wrestling and it becomes like… the offer I got was just awful. It was an extremely low down-size salary, not exclusive. I couldn't do television anywhere. I couldn't work for WWE or Impact but I can take independent bookings. The number was something that I couldn't accept. I would have to keep doing my job and all that," said Ciampa.
"I remember going into negotiations with them. I told them that I would sign for five years, I would sign for 10 years, I will make my career here in Ring of Honor if you guys show me that you are looking to invest in me the way that I will invest in you. And the conversation, which I thought was going well, just randomly took a real hard turn. Then there was this one moment where I was talking to Joe Koff, the owner at the time, or still the owner, in person. It was just the two of us and the first time the two of us negotiated together and I told him that this is how I feel and he was like, listen, no one is going to offer you more than $20,000. I remember just sitting there freezing. I was like, oh, I didn't realize, okay, I didn't realize that you thought that of me. I felt like I had this demeanor. This lightbulb hit me where I realized that we don't have to do this anymore."
That's when Ciampa made the decision to leave ROH as he couldn't fathom that management had that low of an opinion of him.
"I went to [ROH Senior Producer] Hunter Johnston that day because we were on the road somewhere and I said that, oh, I discussed stuff with Joe Koff and I am wrapped up. I will finish my dates and I gave him a timetable around WrestleMania weekend and then I said after that I am done. That was official. I went home and I was thinking, crap, I wanted to keep the narrative under my control," Ciampa said implying that ROH could have buried him on his way out.
"I looked at Samoa Joe. I think he had left Impact Wrestling not long before that and I backtracked his tweets to see what he had said when he left. I almost verbatim copied him because I always viewed him as a very good professional in how he carries himself. I made a comment about me leaving Ring of Honor and the time I was leaving and that was it. I was glad that I did that because they were almost forced to give me a sendoff because at least the fans knew and they were just going to have me – which I still did it – but I had a match with Jay Lethal, beat up the official afterward and then be thrown out of the company. It would have really muddled if it was a storyline or real, but thank God I put it out before that so that there wouldn't be any question marks and people can see that there is an on-screen reason as to why I am gone. My final match was with Jay Lethal. He is one of my favorite people to work with. When I left there, I just felt like I was on the cusp of something."

MARTY SCURLL APPEARS AT NWA INTO THE FIRE, CONFRONTS NICK ALDIS

Marty Scurll appeared at tonight’s NWA Into the Fire PPV.

He appeared at the end of the show, confronting NWA World champion Nick Aldis after he successfully defended the title against James Storm in a 2 out of 3 falls match. The two had a staredown as the show ended.

The feed came back on a few seconds later as Marty Scurll headed to David Marquez and was about to cut a promo when the feed ended for good. It is likely whatever interview Scurll cut tonight will be on a future episode of NWA Power.

Scurll's contract with Ring of Honor expired on November 30 and is currently a free agent. It’s not currently clear if he intends to re-sign with the promotion, but did appear at their Final Battle event last night, losing in a tag team match with Flip Gordon against Flamita and Bandido.

Scurll has appeared for the NWA before, wrestling Aldis for the NWA World title at the NWA Crockett Cup back in April.

NWA BRINGING TV TITLE BACK AT NEXT PPV

The NWA Television title is set to make its return next month.

It was announced during tonight's Into the Fire event that the NWA is bringing the TV title back at their next pay-per-view. The show is taking place at GPB Studios in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, January 24 and will be available via Fite TV, though further details about the PPV and how the Television Champion will be crowned have yet to be revealed.

This will be the fifth active title that the NWA is using in the Billy Corgan era. The promotion also has the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, the NWA Women's World Championship, the NWA National Championship, and the NWA Tag Team titles.

The January event will be the NWA's second PPV since NWA Power debuted. The show airs on YouTube and Facebook on Tuesdays at 6:05 p.m. Eastern time.

The NWA will follow up on Into the Fire with post-PPV TV tapings at GPB Studios tomorrow and Monday.

Nick Aldis Says There Will Be New Faces In The NWA Soon, Names Which Young Stars Are Good On The Mic

Nick Aldis is currently in his second reign as NWA World Heavyweight Champion and will defend his title against James Storm in a 2 out of 3 falls match at Saturday's Into The Fire pay-per-view.
Aldis took part in a media call  where he was asked which young stars within the company stand out to him.
"Ricky Starks would be one of the first ones I would mention in that regard. I think people are gonna be surprised when Thunder Rosa gets a chance to speak, certainly in that environment. Her presentation is so vastly different and she's arrived on the scene with such ferocity based on her in-ring performances. But I wouldn't sleep on her as far as her ability to deliver on the stick too," said Aldis.
"Allyson Kay is money on the mic. She, in many ways, has been as good a representation of the NWA as I have on the women's side with the way she carries herself. With the way she conducts herself, she really believes that she's the champion and that's really the most important thing."
Like Aldis, Kay is the current champion in her gender's division as she's the NWA World Women's Champion. Aldis also teased some new faces showing up at NWA's Into the Fire pay-per-view this weekend.
"There's also gonna be some new faces. There's gonna be some new people coming up and by the time this weekend is finished, the conversation about the NWA will be about what you've just seen, or if you didn't get the PPV, what you just missed. Who knows who you're gonna see on that podium? That's an exciting prospect," stated Aldis.

"Let's not forget that people like to talk about the departure of Cornette. But the blessing in disguise we got from that is the addition of Stu Bennett who I think is gonna absolutely crush it on the broadcast team."

Steve Austin Asks Goldberg If He Felt Like A "Copycat" In WCW

During the height of the Monday Night Wars, two stars reigned supreme for both WCW and the WWF. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin helped usher in an edgier program for Vince McMahon's company, drinking beer and stunning whoever he wanted. In WCW, Goldberg was the undefeated monster who had people chanting his name during his entrance.
"Stone Cold" recently interviewed Goldberg on The Broken Skull Sessions podcast on the WWE Network. When asked by Austin how much of an eye did the WCW star have on WWF programming, Goldberg made it a point to praise but be honest with the former world champion.

"I wanted to kill you," Goldberg stated. "You represented the enemy. I never could have made it where I was without you being Steve Austin. I was the copycat over at WCW."
When showing two images of one another, there are differences between Steve Austin and Goldberg. However, both produced a profit for their companies that has not been replicated. Goldberg felt like he was being compared to Austin multiple times, and even with a few differences, both stars complemented one another in their own unique way.
"Did I feel like it? Only when people said something about it," Goldberg continued when talking about the "Stone Cold" comparisons. "I'd say there is a huge freaking difference between those two guys right there. You and I couldn't be any more alike, but be more unlike each other.

Santana & Ortiz Discuss WWE Offering Them A Deal, Why They Signed With AEW Instead

AEW's Proud & Powerful, Santana and Ortiz, recently spoke with AEW backstage interviewer and entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet. Among many other things, The Inner Circle members talked about their decision to sign with AEW instead of WWE.
Apparently, before AEW became an option, Santana and Ortiz, who debuted for AEW at ALL OUT, were in talks with WWE and they thought they might re-sign with Impact, go to WWE, or sign with ROH. While WWE originally refused to get into a bidding war for the services of Santana and Ortiz, the team was eventually asked flat out for their terms.
"Before [AEW] was a thing, we were kind of already in talks with them, so we were like, 'alright, we're either going to stay in Impact [or] we might go to WWE or maybe Ring Of Honor,' right? We were like, playing it this way, right? We'll see what comes up. We were kind of in our head, 'ugh, we made a good amount of noise in Impact, but I feel like we need to bring up our name value a little bit more. We can go to WWE and we can cash it in now, but I feel like maybe we bring up our name value a little bit more and be more wanted by them. Then, they were interested enough to offer us something, and we had people pulling for us there to bring us in, but I feel like we would have gotten lost in the shuffle."
Ortiz added, "and then, when we got our first offer, it was like, 'eh, we're not going to get into a bidding war with anyone' and then it ultimately went down to 'alright, what do you want,' which was awesome and it was only because of AEW existing."
According to Ortiz, they decided to turn down WWE, but wanted to do it as politely as possible.
"We were about to turn down WWE, and we sat down, and we were like, 'alright, man.' We don't want to burn a bridge. Like, we don't want to burn any bridge anywhere we go. It's just not how you do business. You should keep every avenue open. So [Santana] had this whole spiel. He was like, 'alright, this is what we're going to say, so we don't burn a bridge,' alright? And then, we go and then we get cut off. And they were like, 'listen, just think about your decision.' And then, we stop. We hang up the phone and we were about to turn them down. And we sit there. And we're like, 'damn, they're making this really hard for us,' right?"
Moreover, 'The Powerful' claimed that the offer from WWE was for a run in NXT with the guarantee of main roster at some time after.
"Yes, it was for NXT with the [guarantee] to eventually go up to the main roster," Ortiz stated. "So we were just like, 'alright, man. Dang.' Like, 'dang'. But the ultimate decision was like, 'do we want to just be part of something that's already established or do we want to be something new and make history because no matter what happens with AEW, again, we're here to make it successful, but no matter what happens, we will always be a part of the first ever main event on the first ever television of AEW."
Ortiz shared that their decision was really about wanting to do something brand new instead of being just a cog in a machine.
"We were like, 'do we want to be part of history or do we want to just fade into black?' Even best case scenario, we would be the small fish in a big ocean. Do you know what I mean? Just there's so many people there and it would be an uphill battle. I'm not saying that we wouldn't be able to do it because we're confident in our abilities, but we can be a part of history, we can be a part of change. We can be a part of change that literally, you're seeing the change." Ortiz continued, "it's changing [pro] wrestling for the better. No matter what happens with this company, wrestling has changed for the better and it's continually changing for the better. And we were like, 'man, we want to be part of history. We want to be a part of change."
Santana indicated that the former LAX members believe in the vision and they believe in the team at AEW.
"We believe in the vision that everyone has here and we believe in the team working behind-the-scenes and even working in front of the camera." Santana said, "like, name a better team that's putting out some amazing work."
'The Proud' professed that another major part of their decision-making was the lighter schedule with AEW.
"Another huge part of our decision-making was that we both wanted to be dads," Santana explained. "Do you know what I mean? Like, the schedule, they were offering us the NXT thing and then going to TV. Once we go to TV, we're on the road 250, 300 days a year."
Ortiz added his two cents on the subject of load management.
"And that's the best case scenario. We take off, they push us, they use us on TV all the time, and we're doing house shows, and we're making good money, but guess what? The time that we're home we're going to be mangled. And we have two small children to deal with."
