Tommy Dreamer Has Returned To Busted Open Radio
Tommy Dreamer has returned to the Sirius XM airwaves. The former ECW World Champion resumed his co-hosting duties on Busted Open Radio this morning, his first appearance on the show since September.
Alongside host Dave LaGreca, Dreamer reviewed last night’s NXT and, in a segment featuring former WCW wrestler Crowbar, paid tribute to the late Daffney, who passed away on September 1. The Busted Open podcast, which is posted shortly after the conclusion of the radio broadcast and contains only portions of the show, featured no mention of Dreamer’s absence from the show, nor touched upon why his hiatus had ended.
Dreamer disappeared from Busted Open Radio following a series of controversial statements on Vice TV’s Dark Side of the Ring episode on the notorious Plane Ride From Hell incident. During the episode, which aired on September 16, Dreamer defended Ric Flair, who was accused by flight attendant Heidi Doyle of committing sexual assault during the flight. Dreamer further downplayed the accusations of Doyle, insinuating she wasn’t believable due to her settling a lawsuit with WWE over the incident out of court.
The following day, Impact Wrestling, where Dreamer works as a member of the creative team, suspended Dreamer indefinitely for his conduct. Several days later, LaGreca announced on Busted Open Radio that Dreamer would not be appearing on the program for the foreseeable future, and that his remarks would not be tolerated. To date, he has not returned to Impact, though Dreamer promoted Impact’s Bound for Glory event on social media this past weekend.
Also co-hosted by Bully Ray and AEW performer Mark Henry, Busted Open Radio is known for promoting their shows throughout the day on social media. It is notable, on the day that Dreamer returned, that Busted Open did not promote his appearance on Twitter, and only mentioned Dreamer when posting the link to the podcast version.
I guess they know the backlash that's going to come their way because of this decision. So they thought it better to be silent about it, even though, that backlash is gonna come anyway.
Ring of Honor Going On Hiatus
ROH, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, has been holding closed set TV tapings in Baltimore, Maryland. They are holding the aforementioned Final Battle pay-per-view on Saturday, December 11th from the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore.
The show will be the first for the company with fans in attendance since September's Death Before Dishonor PPV.
Contracted talent signed to Ring of Honor won’t have their contracts renewed as the company looks to go on hiatus and re-evaluate in the first quarter of 2022.
Contracted talent will not have their contracts renewed and are allowed to work anywhere they want immediately. They will also be paid through the end of the year. However, they will finish out remaining ROH dates for 2021. ROH will continue with a November television taping followed by their Final Battle pay-per-view, which will take place on December 11 at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
Final Battle will be the first card to have fans in attendance since the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view in September. Recent television tapings have been held without fans.
Rumors that Sinclair Broadcasting, the parent company of Ring of Honor, has canceled ROH’s television show are not true.
Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Silas Young, Quinn McKay, Trish Adora, Max The Impaler, Dak Draper, Beer City Bruiser, Joe Hendry, Joe Keys, Eric Martin, and Dante Caballero are among the ROH wrestlers who tweeted about taking bookings following the announcement that ROH is going on hiatus after Final Battle and taking the first quarter of 2022 to “reimagine” the company.

Maria Kanellis Talks About The “Fight” She Had With WWE Over Her Playboy Spread
Ring of Honor’s Maria Kanellis recently joined Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette to talk about her career. Kanellis talked about the struggle of trying to do more in WWE her first go around in WWE, including input on her 2008 Playboy spread and more time for the women onscreen.
“I remember even having long conversations on what my Playboy was going to be,” Kanellis said. “And I wanted it to be more fashion forward. I was a big Cindy Crawford (fan), I loved her style and I wanted to bring more of that vibe to wrestling and make it more fashion forward and make it more pop culture. That was a fight. It was a fight even to get that, even something so sexualized at the time as a Playboy cover. It was like ‘we want it to be more sexy.’ I tried to get it black and white and they were like ‘no, we want it full color.’ So there were those conversations, even about something as sexual as that. And everybody talks about ‘oh, well time on TV.’ Well we were all fighting backstage to get more time on TV. We were trying to stop Vince in the hallway or meet him in his office or whatever it was, just to get a couple more minutes. I remember when one match was told ‘you did too many things like the guys.’ And I just remember the looks on those women’s faces.
“They wanted the girls to be more girly I guess would be the term. More feminine, like cat fight situations. I didn’t mind any of it, I was playing a role. But of course, I wanted more time for the women that did know how to wrestle, that did get into this because of the wrestling. But unfortunately, that just wasn’t happening. Eventually there was a little bit more and a little bit more given to us by the end. But I do remember, after I had done Celebrity Apprentice, and I pushed hard, even before I came out, I was like ‘no. It’s going to take more money, more of this, more of that to get me to stay.’ And that’s when WWE and myself went separate ways. I wanted to be able to have more control of my character at the time. It’s okay. It all worked out for the best in that sense. And because of my time in Ring of Honor and other promotions, I was really able to spread my wings, so that next time I came back into WWE, I came with a lot more confidence. And the wrestling world had changed so much. It was interesting to come back and see how much had changed and how much was the same. But that’s how it goes. You take what you can get, and you also do it inch by inch. It’s not going to be overnight.”
Kanellis also delved into the differences between working for WWE in her first run and then working for promotions like Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Impact Wrestling. For her, WWE was more rigid and scripted, whereas the other promotions allowed you more control and the chance to sink or swim.
“When I left WWE in 2010, and, as you know, with WWE you pretty much have to stick to the script, especially if you’re one of the wrestlers or the talent,” Kanellis said. “But then getting to Ring of Honor by 2011, I could do what I wanted. I didn’t have a script most of the time to what I was going to say. It really was the Briscoes that let me shine and be a strong female. Because of the Briscoe Brothers, if you’re able to get into a feud with them, it really solidified that women could be strong. And I always thank them. That storyline was a moment in my career, and it was every single one of those men in Ring of Honor that supported me, and allowed me to have a say, whether it be in finishes of matches or if it was the direction of the storylines. So for me, that was the biggest difference, is being able to have so much say, even in the guys matches that I wasn’t involved in. They would ask me for advice. So that was amazing.
“And then going to New Japan and being treated so respectfully. I had my own locker room a lot of times because I was the only female on the show. And sometimes my locker room would be bigger than the guys. So I was inviting people in! If I needed anything, they took care of me, because I was the first female they had had that was consistently on television in awhile. And I was consistently doing shows with them. So for me it was this weird experience of ‘I’m so excited to be here!’, but they were just so respectful of me being there. So we were bowing at each other multiple times, like ‘yes, thank you.’ ‘No, thank you.’ It was great. And Impact, that was a whole other ballgame, because I had the support of the entire writing staff, including Madison (Rayne) who did such incredible things for me as far as confidence. Having Gail Kim there and being able to run ideas past her and having Billy Corgan there, they just let me run with it. And they had such good direction, but I just went out there and they were like ‘okay, you’ve got five minutes.’ I was like ‘anything else?’ ‘No, just go.’ So I had to go out there on a microphone and be like ‘okay, I guess I’m filling five minutes.’ That’s a lot of pressure to strike the balance between what can be a rigid situation in WWE of ‘here’s your script, stick to it, here you go, learn it, get out there and go nail it.’ And then having the other stuff being a completely blank canvas and do what you want to do. That’s a tall order, because then if you fall on your face, it’s your fault.”

Former TNA Wrestler Jimmy Rave Has Had Both Legs Amputated
Jimmy Rave shared the news 11 months ago that his wrestling career had ended after 21 years due to his left arm amputation. Now just days after revealing he owes more than $100,000 in medical bills, he has announced on Twitter that he has also had to have both legs amputated following an MRSA infection this past June. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the internet, some fans are skeptical, since "marks" always question everything, including facts. so he has included a photograph confirming this.

Rave started out in the wrestling business in 1999, and he is best known for his multiple runs in Ring of Honor, where he shared a ring with Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Nigel McGuinness, AJ Styles, and CM Punk. He was also part of The Rock ‘n Rave Infection in TNA along with Lance Archer and Christy Hemme. Unfortunately, his career was severely hampered by drug addiction, which resulted in him attending rehab. He would, though, rebuild his life and get a job at the Bartow County Peer Support, Wellness, and Respite Center in Georgia before sadly having to deal with these amputations.

Disco Inferno Gets "Checked" by Kenny Omega On Twitter
On Friday night, Omega referred to Inferno as “a b**ch” while responding to a tweet from his on-screen manager, Don Callis.
Callis initially referred to Inferno as a “professional blithering idiot” (Which is, pretty much true if you ever listen to him) for arguing with Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez over the importance of demos in TV viewership.
And how would Glenn know anything about that, since he hasn't been booked in ANY major company in years..
Pretty nice to see a guy no company wants to work with, getting put in his place.. Though it really doesn't take much effort to do if you see what a moron Glenn really is.
Over the past few days, Inferno has contended via Twitter that overall viewership is still more critical to advertisers than just the 18-49 numbers.
Inferno fired back at Omega and Callis by promising to expose the “ignorant takes” of people in the business who have “completely lost the plot.”
Seriously though. Glenn should just keep quiet as he's been 'checked' many times, on Twitter and YouTube.

Yeah, at this point? Silence would be Glenn's best friend. Too bad he's not smart enough to utilize that friendship. :)
