Tim Storm & Nick Aldis | The Modern Era Rebirth of the NWA

With the National Wrestling Alliance crossing over 200k subscribers, we look back at the debut of the modern era of The NWA with Tim Storm & Nick Aldis starting in October of 2017.    When William Patrick Corgan & Lightning One took over the NWA, the first step included the introduction of the man holding Ten Pound of Gold Tim Storm.  And also included his first challenger Nick Aldis.

You'll witness the very first vignette featuring Tim Storm, his first appearance on Ten Pounds of Gold, his debut "mountaintop" promo, the backstory of his time in the NWA in the 1990s, the introduction of Nick Aldis and his challenge to Storm.   Plus we'll see the first comments of NWA President Billy Corgan about the history of the National Wrestling Alliance.

You'll also see three matches on this video including singles matches with Nick Aldis and Tim Storm leading up to their battle for #TenPoundsOfGold against each other.

If you're new to this channel since the debut of #NWAPowerrr, this will be a great look back at how we got here.  We're very proud to give this over 1 hour look back at the relaunch of the modern era of the National Wrestling Alliance.

And To Think, Some fans Are Dumb Enough To Buy This- WWE Selling Dirt From Boneyard Match At WrestleMania 36

From the "There's A Sucker Born Every Minute" File, comes this, and fans will willingly spend money to get? Dirt, LMAO! Yes, some fans are indeed, this stupid. And unfortunately, the WWE knows this as well.

You can now own dirt from WWE's first-ever Boneyard Match, which took place as the main event of WrestleMania 36 Night One with The Undertaker defeating AJ Styles.

WWE Shop is selling a Limited Edition 15" x 17" plaque to commemorate the bout, featuring a capsule of dirt from where they filmed the cinematic match at.

There are just 536 of the dirt capsules, and the individually-numbered plaques are likely moving fast.

The $74.99 item can be pre-ordered now and will be in stock on Wednesday, May 13. Customers who qualify can pay for the item in 4 interest-free installments of $18.75 as the WWE Shop website has partnered with the Klarna service.

WWE Reportedly Open To Granting Talent Releases (Yeah Right, We'll See About That, LOL)

WWE talents who are looking to be released from their contracts may be able to get those releases as the company is reportedly still looking to make cuts due to tough times brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

It was noted by @Wrestlevotes how multiple sources report that WWE is willing to grant a release to "just about anyone" who makes the request right now.

"Basically if a talent wants out, they can go," wrote WV.

It will be interesting to see if anyone asks to be released during the current period of uncertainty. There was said to be a lot of fear within WWE earlier this month when they made company-wide cuts due to the negative business impact COVID-19 brought on.

UPDATE ON TRIAL IN DEATH OF NYC INDEPENDENT WRESTLER MATT TRAVIS

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the trial of Luc C. Vu, the man arrested following the death New York City independent wrestler Matt "Travis" Palacios, before New York Criminal Court has been pushed back three months until Monday 7/20, PWInsider.com has learned.  The trial was originally slated to begin on 4/20.

Vu has been charged with reckless driving, failure to yield to a bicyclist, failure to obey a traffic device, driving left of pavement marking and failure to exercise due care in December 2019, leading to Palacios' death.

Palacios was struck while traveling on a bike path in East Harlem about 2:30 AM on Saturday 11/9/19 when a dump truck driver made an illegal left u-turn to get onto the Willis Avenue Bridge.  Travis was struck and although rushed to the hospital, suffered serious trauma and was pronounced dead when he arrived.      It is not clear whether Vu was aware he struck Travis.  Vu was driving for Parsipanny, New Jersey-based D&A Contracting LLC, which fired him upon learning of his arrest.

Jim Cornette on The Passing Of Joe Pedicino

Another Week Goes By, Another Idiot Has To be Put In Their place.

Twitter seems very infested with them, and this one, 'representing' Powerbomb Wrestling out of Ohio, OBVIOUSLY didn't see the poll results either. Which obviously favored what I said. Maybe he should've looked at the results before trying to take me on and wind up not looking good at all.

Anyone with an I.Q. higher than a door knob would know that Heenan would run rings around anyone else, especially Jesse. But hey, as you can see, not everyone is that smart, especially whoever is 'representing' Powerbomb Wrestling on Twitter.

As I'm starting say more and more... Knowledge, is king. (smiles).

JERRY LAWLER ADDRESSES 'RAMEN NOODLE MOONSAULT' COMMENT ON RAW

JERRY LAWLER ADDRESSES 'RAMEN NOODLE MOONSAULT' COMMENT ON RAW
BY JOSH NASON | @JOSHNASON | APR 26, 2020 12:38 PM
TWITTERFACEBOOKGOOGLE+

Image: WWE

On the latest edition of his podcast, Jerry Lawler addressed his recent "Ramen noodle moonsault" comment while doing commentary on WWE Raw.

On the April 13th edition of the show, Lawler was calling an Akira Tozawa-Austin Theory match with Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton when he referred to a Tozawa senton as a "Ramen noodle moonsault". The comment was later edited out of the Hulu edition of the show.

At the 53 minute mark, Lawler asked his co-host if he could address the elephant in the room about the comment and why being racist was "the furthest thing from his mind."

He said he was doing commentary in 2016 with Mauro Ranallo and given Ranallo's history with Japanese wrestling, he heard him call a move something that he figured was made up because he had never heard of it before. He said he later made up some names of what he thought would be funny moves to go back at Ranallo at when he called a move.

"I would say something like, "There’s the Ramen Noodle moonsault" and he would say, "Oh, King! You know there's no such thing!" and we would just go on. I was doing it just to play devil’s advocate with Mauro. If I were still doing commentary with Michael Cole or JR, we had the chemistry to where each one of those guys would have known that I was almost making a fool out of myself by claiming like I was acting like I knew what this unbelievable looking move was.

"Then either Cole or JR would have said ‘"Oh, King! You know better than that!" With Byron and Tom, we don’t have that chemistry yet. We have only been working together for a short time so when I said that, they didn’t even acknowledge it so it kind of went out and they just kept talking and I kept talking. I didn’t think anything about it either.”

Lawler and his co-host then intimated that the intent was that the joke was supposed to be on him for being behind the times.

"That’s where me, Bobby Heenan, Jesse Ventura...all of the heel commentators do that sort of stuff and the joke is on yourself that the people out there say, "Look at that idiot. He doesn’t even know what he’s talking about and he thinks he does.' That's where the joke was."

Lawler did not apologize for the comment and remains on the commentary team for Raw.

I Thru Myself Into This Discussion And Wouldn't You Know? Nobody Could Dispute What I Said.

All these so called "Well Knowledged" experts throwing this and that out and what do I do? Thru some of the real truth, which was and has been a fact for decades now, into the mix. And BOOM.. Not one of them can argue my very valid point. Imagine that.

They may have worked for these companies but it'll always come down to someone who's more knowledgeable on many companies, to throw the truth in where they really don't want to hear it.

What I said, besides it being true, just took all the argument away from all of them (smiles).

Knowledge is king, remember that. :)

Kamille's First Match & Interview| NWA Super Powerrr Preview

Since October 2018, the imposing force of Kamille has stood by the side of The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.  With the insertion of Brandi Rhodes into Cody's win at ALL IN, Nick Aldis enlisted an insurance policy to make sure it was a.level playing field at NWA 70.  Kamille's presence in matches for the Ten Pounds Of Gold vs. PJ Black, Marty Scurll and Tim Storm have shown her value as an insurance policy.

Since the launch of #NWAPowerrr, the story of "when will Kamille speak?" has been one of the biggest questions.  This is a sneak peak of what we're calling the "Lost" episode of NWA Power entitled Super Powerrr.

Bruce Prichard shoots on Vince McMahon firing Nailz

McMahon And WWE Having Acouple Different Problems Today

TMZ is reporting that Oliver Luck, who was the Commissioner of the now-defunct XFL, has sued Vince McMahon for wrongful termination when the league folded last week.

Luck states he was sent a letter of termination on April 9, which he said was full of untruths.  He is claiming he fulfilled his duties and was wrongfully terminated and wants to be paid for the remainder of his contract.

Details of the claim have not been released at this time.

During a meeting of the Orange County Board of County Commissioners today, someone claiming to be an anomymous WWE employee submitted a public comment that he and others are being "forced to work" WWE's Performance Center TV tapings, claiming they are forced to touch others while working and feels that if he speaks up to his superiors, he will be fired.

Jon Alba of Spectrum Sports 360 tweeted a video from the meeting, showing the statement being read into public record:

At Tuesday's Orange County Board of County Commissioners meeting, a #WWE employee named "John" submitted public comment they're being "forced to work" TV tapings despite stay at home orders. Says he's unable to speak out and feels he will be fired if he approaches his higher-ups. pic.twitter.com/UJTvX1RGc7

— Jon Alba (@JonAlba) April 21, 2020
"John" says despite sanitary precautions, they can't maintain social distancing at #WWE tapings, and they have to touch their others. They've requested the government shut down the tapings so everyone can follow social distancing rules without fear of losing their jobs.

— Jon Alba (@JonAlba) April 21, 2020
As we covered last week, #WWE had initially been ruled a non-essential business in Orange County, and the Orange County Sheriff had been called several times to the Performance Center. Then, an April 9 Executive Order by Gov. DeSantis included it as an essential business.

In response to the anonymous accusations filed with the Orange County Board of Directors today and read for the public record, World Wrestling Entertainment issued the following statement.

"These accusations aren’t true. Employees know they can confidentially go to Human Resources, not the public. Notwithstanding the appropriate protocol, no one would be fired if they were uncomfortable with their surroundings. We’ve made accommodations for individuals upon request."

Example 12345 On How Easy It Is To Smack An Idiot On Twitter (Updated 4-21-20 2:00 am)

The idiots always come, especially when they think, they know it all but really don't. And then when i give em a good smack, they just continue to be stupid enough to keep replying and I just continue, to easily put them in their place. It never takes much effort and as you can see b y the following. This latest ass clown is just another example of how easy it is.. To put someone in check with facts on Twitter.. And they aren't smart enough to shut up so they keep replying, making themselves look even more like a f'n moron.

This started because of this story here. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/04/joe-pedicino-passes-away.html  On Joe Pedicino passing away. That I covered, OVER Three hours  before Meltzer and his crack crew got to it (and only got to it because I left a link to it this site somewhere on their Twitter site).

So of course you know at some point some Melzer kiss ass is gonna come strolling along and try and start shit. Like a rerun you can predict it and here he is. After carefully explaining that they only put it up AFTER I posted my link on  their site.. He couldn't grasp the fact he was proven wrong, or didn't want, to grasp the fact so what does he do? The same thing all the others try to do when they no longer have an argument that brought their dumb asses to me in the first place and he tries to change the subject (which is proof he knew he got punked and decided to use that so predictable yet typical way to try and avoid that fact) by trying to allege I have no viewers of this blog. So like the others that have tried, failed and got chumped thanks to me. You'll see how easily that argument put his ass in check.

I mean come on, it's pretty obvious the chart is legit. This site is on Blogger, the viewer chart is what Blogger tracks, so how in his small mind does he think it's not legit, is a mystery. I guess the logic is, use any excuse to try and sustain an argument than have no excuse to cover the fact you have, no argument, is the way he went.

Then of course he claims I'm 'insignificant".. Yet HE, was the dumb ass who came to me first. if I'm so 'insignificant' then why did he bother to begin with? DDUUHH! Dumb ass. These idiots will never learn, I swear. What makes this guy just as dumb as the others is he keeps replying, though he's the one who claimed I'm 'insignificant', if that's the case why does he keep replying trying to redeem himself after he was promptly, many times put in his place? Other than he's too stupid to know any better you can never get a believable answer out of clowns like this.

And to show you what a clown he is, I openly said if I'm so insignificant you won't reply anymore. I don't know how many ways i dumbed it down for him to grasp the fact he really should just stay quiet. But, as you'll see. He wasn't smart enough to 'get it'. And this mind you, is a guy who claims to be a 'former' Pro Wrestling Torch contributor. I bet Wade Keller and Bruce Mitchell would be proud to see what an idiot they had at one time 'contributing' to them.

Of course he's a WWE fanboy too, like a robot he's programmed to watch a shitty WWE show when there's way better product to watch elsewhere. And of course when I call him out to not reply anymore, what does the dumb ass do? Replies again.

Makes you wonder where, these idiots come from, and why is it, there's just ssoo many of them roaming out there. But, they wanna roam my way and try their shit, I'll continue to make jack asses out of them. Doesn't take much effort as all, as you can see. Too bad idiots like this aren't cable of at least, making it a challenge. Too easy, WAY too easy to put clowns like this in their place. Some day they may learn but from the looks of it, it won't be any time soon.

And proof that he didn't learn comes right now. Look at how he again attempts an insult, and fails.

Too bad he neglected, or was too lazy to go and include this to his attempt at an insult.

Yeah, of course he's gonna choose not to show that, which goes to show why he's such an idiot and clowning this moron continues to be so easy to do.. I guess when it comes to making it something resembling a challenge, he's just that incapable of doing it. Not surprising as not many people have that capability. And this moron keeps proving he's just that, a moron .  Boom.

JOE PEDICINO PASSES AWAY

Joe Pedicino, who over the course of his career has hosted and produced a number of professional wrestling series and worked as a commentator for World Championship Wrestling, passed away on 4/12 at the age of 70.  Pedicino had been ill for some time after suffering a stroke in June 2019.

Pedicino was involved with and created a number of professional wrestling television projects, including the late-1980s syndicated series This Week in Pro Wrestling, which he created and produced as well as co-hosted with Gordon Solie.  The excellent series featured clips from across the world of pro wrestling, including at times specific WWF interviews for the series, and covered breaking wrestling news stories.    Bill Apter and later, Paul Heyman would appear on the series regularly.  The show provided a lot of exposure for smaller, regional and international companies to get their material out across the United States in ways that would not have been possible beyond the wrestling magazines of the era.  That series from January 1987 ran through March 1988 with a storyline ending that Paul Heyman had brought the show and ended it.

Pedicino also produced and hosted a syndicated eight-hour block of professional wrestling content alongside Solie and Blackstone out of Atlanta, where he has been based for decades, running that package from 1986 through 1992.   WATV-TV in Atlanta was the nucleus for the package, which aired on Saturday nights from 8 PM - 3 AM Eastern with new host segments built in as wrap-arounds.  The syndication package was an idea Pedicino brought to the station after having only been working for their sales department for about 6-8 weeks, somewhat inspired by what horror host Elvira was doing with older monster and horror films.   The package would feature material from different NWA member promotions, the WWC in Puerto Rico, Continental Wrestling, Memphis Wrestling and even men's and women's professional wrestling from Japan.   Through the series, Pedicino met his wife, Boni Blackstone, who won a contest to become the co-host of the package.  The tail end of the run saw future WCW announcer Scott Hudson do some of his earliest TV work in the business as well, working with Steven Prazak, who went on to work with ECW and the GWF.  At its height, the package was being seen in 90 markets in the United States.

Pedicino would work for World Championship Wrestling as an television and hotline personality in the late 80s and early 1990s, hosting Joe Pedicino Knows:

After departing World Championship Wrestling in the early 1990s, Pedicino helped found the Global Wrestling Federation in Dallas and was the face and lead announcer for the group, which ran out of the former Sportatorium, giving national attention to Sean Waltman (Lightning Kid at the time), Marcus Bagwell (working under a mask as The Handsome Stranger), The Patriot, Jerry Lynn, Scott Levy (at the time, Scotty the Body), Mick Foley and others via the series' afternoon time slot on ESPN.

Allegedly backed by a Nigerian businessman, the group was actually financed by Texas businessman Max Andrews and came out of the gate strong with lots of other well known names including Eddie Gilbert and Terry Gordy before becoming populated mainly by local Texas talents as budgets were cut  Pedicino would depart the project within a year as costs were cut across the board.

On his Facebook Page, Del Wilkes aka The Patriot, wrote he was, "Shocked and saddened by this news.  Without Joe and Boni Blackstone, The Patriot as I knew it would have never existed.  Forever grateful!"

During his time in the business, Pedicino also put together a number of charity events to raise money for different entities and at one point, raised $10,000 doing a Wrestlethon event on local TV, assisting a fan who needed a liver transplant.

Pedicino had moved on from professional wrestling in the 1990s, beyond some online interactions with fans in the early days of the AOL and Prodigy online services.  He focused most of his attention on owning and operating several radio stations in the Georgia area through his company, Legacy Media South Atlanta.   He worked as General Sales Manager for WCNN in Atlanta and 92.5 The Bear in Fayetteville, GA, among other stations.  He had retired in 2018 from working full-time.

his last pro wrestling-related appearace was at a NWA Legends Fanfest in Atlanta promoted by Greg Price back in 2011, where he worked as the host for the weekend as well as signed and took photos alongside Blackstone.

As noted, Pedicino suffered a stroke back in June 2019 and had been bed-ridden while undergoing physical therapy due to the loss of the use of his right leg and had to begin to learn to speak again.

Big Change With Capitol Wrestling

Capitol Wrestling announced it will be known as Catalyst Wrestling going forward. Below is the full announcement:

Following three years and over 150 episodes of first-run programming, April 20, 2020 marks the end of the Capitol Wrestling brand name for all live events and television programming.

Launched in March 2017, Capitol Wrestling grew from a small regional promotion to an internationally syndicated property airing on Fight Network's UK, US, and Canada platforms, as well as FITE and GaS Digital, and will today go forward as Catalyst Wrestling.

Beginning with the 160th episode of the New York-based organization's television show, Catalyst Wrestling will feature special episodes highlighting the characters, moments, and rivalries that have not only come before it, but will serve as the template for future programming.

Featuring talent such as Colby Corino, Homicide, KC Navarro, The REP, Ghost Shadow, and Carter Mason, among others, Catalyst Wrestling looks to bridge the gap between the innovative DIY identity of independent wrestling and modern storytelling, while curating a larger-than-life atmosphere for its fans both at home and at live events.

With an emphasis on first-rate talent both in the ring and on the microphone, as well as behind the scenes, the journey of Catalyst Wrestling will be told in a variety of ways beginning with a mini-documentary directed and edited by David Velesaca, focusing on current Catalyst Wrestling champion Colby Corino.

Other concepts coming to Catalyst Wrestling's weekly programming line up will include new segments featuring various members of the wrestling media breaking down Catalyst Wrestling's greatest matches, moments, and rivalries. Acting as initial hosts of the premiere segment will be Nick Hausman (Wrestling Inc.) and Andrew Zarian (Mat Men Podcast).

OTT Wrestling Loses Their Wrestling School

Over The Top Wrestling announced on April 17 that they lost their wrestling school.

Joey Cabray wrote on social media that the landlord was unwilling to work with the promotion.

Cabray wrote, "Today we lost our school, a landlord unwilling to work with us in any form. This school meant so much to the scene, trainees and trainers. We will be back with a new and better location soon."

NXT UK star Jordan Devlin explained more about the situation. Devlin was the first OTT World Champion.

"Landlord refused to accept anything less than 100% of the rent we usually pay," explained Devlin. "In a time he knows it's impossible to earn that rent. I'm glad we're moving, glad we're not giving a man like that any more money. The building isn't the school, it's the people in it. We'll go again."

NXT UK stars Killer Kelly and Flash Morgan Webster also replied to the news.

As noted in March, OTT had to cancel their Scrappermania 6 event due to the coronavirus pandemic. The main event that was scheduled was AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. OTT Champion David Starr.
