Indie Promotion (Beyond Wrestling) Has Interesting Response To WWE NXT - USA Move, Claims Fingerprints On AEW And NXT

The Beyond Wrestling indie promotion took to Twitter today and had an interesting response to the WWE NXT - USA Network announcement.
As noted, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon provided comments on the big move for NXT in the official press release. He said, "The move to USA Network provides an opportunity to deepen our relationship with NBCUniversal and further build the NXT brand. Over the long term, our goal is to develop a following that can be monetized to the same level as our flagship programs, Raw and SmackDown."
Beyond re-posted part of Vince's statement and added, "It's got nothing to do with what the fans want, nothing to do with what's best for the wrestlers, and nothing to do with the quality of the programming."
A fan responded to that tweet from Beyond and asked, "You gonna cry about it?"
Beyond responded and said they will just work to run a better weekly wrestling show. They also indicated that their "fingerprints" are all over the NXT and AEW products.
They wrote back to the fan, "No, I'm going to work to run a better weekly wrestling show, even if we play to a smaller audience, because at the end of the day, everything going to cable TV on Wednesday nights has my fingerprints all over it."
Beyond also noted that season two of their "Unchartered Territory" series premieres on Thursday, October 3, the same week that AEW premieres on TNT. They also have plans to premiere a new weekly program that week on IndependentWrestling.TV.
Launched in 2009 and owned by Drew Cordeiro, Beyond Wrestling currently bills itself as "independent wrestling's most watched YouTube Channel" and is based out of Worcester, Massachusetts. In addition to airing weekly content on YouTube, they also have stream content with the IndependentWrestling.TV service.

Will Someone PLEASE.. Show Dave Meltzer HOW.. To Post A Link Correctly? He's Incapable of Doing So, Again

Yes, it's true, it's DAMN TRUE once again. Dave Meltzer is incapable of putting a link correctly, or properly on his own web page (yes, he really IS that much of a dumb ass).

Since proof is and always be a mother fucker.. And I'm always the mother fucker who has the proof, here it is.. I swear someone needs to give him some lessons on how to post links correctly, he makes these mistakes so often it makes him look, like a dumb ass.

Here's the lead in story where he supposedly put the link.

But then, when you click that link, you of course DON'T get the story he hyped.. You get... THIS!

AAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Doesn't Meltzer even CHECK these links before he posts them? Obviously by me constantly punking him on this, the answer clearly is... No.

And of course, like all the other times I busted his ass on this, he NEVER goes and corrects himself. Because him correcting his own fuck ups is something that's considered 'beneath him'.

But since ol Dave can't properly post links to the story for you. I'll go ahead and give you acouple of different links.. I'll do his job for him since he obviously can't do it himself. :)

You can go ahead and tell Meltzer he can thank me for doing again, what he obviously isn't smart enough to do.

WWE NXT Reportedly Coming To The USA Network In Mid-September, Jericho, Young Bucks Respond

WWE NXT is set to premiere on the USA network on Wednesday, September 18, according to a new report from Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com.
The big news will be announced on tonight's RAW episode from St. Paul, Minnesota, according to the report.
NXT is scheduled to air for two hours each Wednesday night from 8-10pm ET, beginning on September 18. The Wednesday Night War will then begin on October 2 as AEW premieres on TNT, in the same timeslot.
It's believed that the locations for the first few NXT USA episodes will be confirmed tonight as well
Chris Jericho appeared on Busted Open Radio today and discussed NXT reportedly moving to the USA Network on Wednesday nights to go head-to-head with AEW. With three hours of RAW on Mondays, as well as two hours of SmackDown on Fridays on FOX starting in October, Jericho noted that there is already too much WWE programming.
"I think WWE is great but there's too much WWE as it is," Jericho said. "By adding another two hours, that really dilutes the product, it dilutes their mindset, it dilutes the focus. It's a reactionary move that's done by a guy who wants to start a war. We don't care if you want to start a war, that was never our intention. There's no war for us, we're just doing what we're doing. People there don't like that and they're reacting to it, and it just dilutes their own product.
"You remember in the 90s, Nitro would start at 7:57 and RAW started at 8:00, and the reason that we started early is because we wanted our pyro to be before theirs. Who gives a crap? What's the show like? Don't worry about what the other guys are doing, worry about your own stuff.
"I don't care about any other wrestling company in the world. I want everyone to do good, everyone be the best that you can be, whether it's WWE, Ring Of Honor, Impact, New Japan, AAA or friggin' George Swanson's show at the Armory on a Friday night. Do your thing. We don't care, and I think that's one of the things that makes us cool. It's a typical thing, the more other people will do, the more it makes us look revolutionary and cool, and we haven't even started yet. Just wait until we start."
Jericho also felt that NXT on Wednesday nights might not affect them because he feels that a big percentage of their fans don't watch WWE.
"We still don't know who are fan base is," Jericho admitted. "I don't think that there's a lot of crossover between WWE fans and AEW fans. I think a lot of people that are into AEW are people that maybe haven't watched wrestling in a while, or maybe are looking for something different. Maybe they don't like WWE, I don't know."

Tony Schiavone Signs With AEW, And Is Still With MLW

One of the signature voices of the Monday Night Wars is on his way to All Elite Wrestling. Tony Schiavone has become a member of the AEW brand. This is after speculation that WWE had interest in the former voice of WCW.
The report went on to say that Schiavone will be able to continue his color commentary duties with Major League Wrestling, where he signed a two-year deal. It was previously reported that Schiavone's current contract with MLW would not allow him to work with another company like AEW or WWE. In fact, Court Bauer did not know that Schiavone was going to be involved in AEW's "Road to All Out" online series, which was shot this past May.
"Unless AEW elects to reach out, Tony Schiavone cannot proceed with AEW or any other company doing anything. I was unaware of him doing the digital stuff until I read it in this week's Observer," Bauer said.
At the time, Schiavone was just helping out Cody Rhodes. It is unknown what specific role he will have with the organization. AEW's current broadcast team is comprised of Jim Ross, Excalibur and Alex Marvez. They also have Chris Van Vliet and Alicia Atout as backstage interviewers.
Whatever his role may be with AEW, Schiavone will return to TNT for the first time since WCW's run when the brand ended in 2001.

Tom Prichard On Hating His Time In WWE With The Body Donnas, If Sunny Hurt Chris Candido's Career

Dr. Tom Prichard spent over 15 years with WWE as either a wrestler or a trainer for their developmental territories. As a wrestler he was part of the Heavenly Bodies and also one half of the Body Donnas alongside Chris "Skip" Candido.
Prichard spoke with WWR Podcast about his time in WWE and if he enjoyed his run with the Body Donnas.
"No, not the Donnas. I hated the Body Donnas," Prichard said bluntly. He then added that the bleached blond hair cut he had was the best part of the gimmick and that poor creative led to him hating that tag team.
"How about this? What if we take the hottest chick in the whole deal [Sunny] away from you guys? I mean, you know what? We're going to give you a new manager. Hey, get this, how about a transvestite? Hey, it'll be a guy dressed up as a girl and guess what we're going to call her? Oh, this is the great part. Guess what? We'll name her Cloudy? How clever is that? Oh my God!

"I just sat there and Chris actually said, 'I think it's the stupidest f***ing thing I've ever heard.' I didn't say a word. I just sat there and took it like, oh my God, I just want to go home. I just want to go, you know, it was terrible. But that was a bad time for a lot of people, I think."
Prichard was then asked about working with Candido who was seen as one of the most underrated wrestlers in the business.
"Chris was fantastic. I love Chris. He had talent and he had passion. He had love for the business too," said Prichard. "And that, that was solely being a lost art back then too 'cause Chris was a master and Chris could do anything. So yeah, I loved working with Chris. I didn't like working in the gimmick at all. And you know Tammy [Sytch] was Tammy back then. I mean, it was in full swing man. It's like, what, what now? What next? Yeah."
Sytch and Candido were a couple back then and Prichard was asked if Sytch hurt his career in regards to the substances that both used.
"Well, yeah, but looking back, we do it to ourselves. I mean, she, she might have, um, been the catalyst, but if it wasn't her, wouldn't have been her, it would have been somebody else I think," stated Prichard. "But I mean it's where the cards were dealt and you've got to look at it that way. Well, whose fault really is it? Cause both did it. And uh, yeah, I dunno man.
"But Chris was definitely real. Dedication, just from the gym to the ring. And you know, it takes somebody who can run a show, and I think he was 15, running a show in Jersey shore with Bam Bam [Bigelow]. 15 years old, man. I mean, that takes a lot of drive. He had the drive; he really did. But it happens to a lot of us. We get those roadblocks and then you bring it to work with you. It's like, oh my God It's like that cloud over you wherever you go."

CM Punk Has An Incident With A Fan While Commentating MMA Event

Cage Fury Fighting Championships 77 took place last night at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. CM Punk does commentary for the promotion and ended up having to deal with a vocal fan who got a bit too close to the former WWE Superstar.
The fight between Christopher Daukaus and Danny Holmes apparently had a quick stoppage and one fan got close to the cage to yell his displeasure at the call.
In the video above, you can hear Punk say, "Bro, you need to back the f--- up! You need to get the—" at that point you can hear Punk's headset get taken off. Punk's commentary partner then commented, "Well, minor situation developing here. There was a gentleman that was right on the back of my broadcast partner here, and looks like he's potentially being escorted out of the building."
Cameras panned over to where you could see Punk talking with other officials as security surrounded the fan in question.
When Punk returned to the table he said to one of the CFFC officials, "I'm sitting here with a headset and I'm doing my f---ing job, and he did exactly what you're doing right now. He screams bulls--- in my face."
Punk was able to finish out the night and call the rest of the event. You can see the video of this, here. https://youtu.be/pqRhjWm8Dmg

Shawn Spears Surprises Cody Rhodes And MJF At Indie Event

C*4 Wrestling Fighting Back 9 (a charity event that raised over 50k for the Canadian Cancer Society) took place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada last night. At the show, Cody and MJF teamed up to take on Tabarnak De Team (Mathieu St. Jacques & Thomas Dubois).
After the match, MJF went to head to the back and got punched by Shawn Spears. Spears slowly made his way to the ring where Cody was and the two brawled for a bit, then Spears grabbed a chair as he looked to take out Cody again. MJF got back in the ring and took the chair away, Cody attempted a Cross Rhodes on Spears, but he fought out of it and got out of the ring.
Being Cody's friend, MJF has made it clear he's not happy with Spears' nasty chairshot to Cody's head at AEW Fyter Fest in June.
Spears and Cody will meet at AEW All Out on August 31 in Chicago at the Sears Centre.

Bill Dundee Says WWE Didn't Sign Him Because Of The Undertaker

Bill Dundee had a storied wrestling career which dated back to the 1960s in which he appeared for several promotions. He wrestled mostly for southern territories including NWA Mid-South, Continental Wrestling Association and the USWA.
Dundee won over 60 championships during his career but none of them came in the major, national promotions like WWE. However, that hasn't stopped the WWE from putting similar wrestlers into their Hall of Fame and Dundee was asked by Interactive Wrestling Radio if he wants into the WWE HOF.
"It's a work! What do you have to do to get in," Dundee asked rhetorically. "Somebody has to like you. It isn't on what you do. Somebody has to like you and put your name in it. It isn't like a football player who goes out and kicks ass for five, 10 seasons. It isn't like NASCAR where you win a lot of races. Wrestling, somebody says, 'Hey, put him in.' What the f*** does that mean? Nothing! I don't care about the Hall of Fame!"
In addition to wrestling, Dundee was also a booker and promoter and that led to interest from WWE regarding a role. However, while his dinner with the McMahons seemingly went well, Dundee was not hired allegedly due to a personal conflict with The Undertaker.
"Yeah, they were interviewing me for a job but the Undertaker didn't want me to have that job," Dundee said while laughing. "Well, he and a couple other people. But, I think Undertaker did the most of it. I have no earthly idea why he don't like me. He used to know a young lady and that ought to let you know some kind of idea. She gave him a version of me. But, I don't know why he doesn't like me."
The Undertaker and Dundee both worked for the USWA in the late 1980s and their paths may have crossed at some point. Dundee then took a shot at 'Taker's physical appearance after seeing him recently.
"But I saw a picture of the old f***er and he doesn't look like the same Mark now, does he? He's shrinking away to nothing," said Dundee. "Well, when he gets down to about 210 pounds, maybe we'll see how bad he is [laughs]."

. TOM PRICHARD DISCUSSES THE EVOLUTION OF WWE'S DEVELOPMENTAL SYSTEM AND MORE

Former WWE Head Coach and current MLW Senior Agent Dr Tom Prichard joined VOC Nation Wrestling with History to discuss his career, the growth of the WWE training program, competition in pro wrestling, and much more.
You can hear the entire interview at http://vocnation.com; here are some highlights of what Dr Tom had to say:
On the growth of the WWE training facilities:  “We started in the warehouse of a TV studio.  Now they have a complete performance center with a working studio, full gym, locker rooms…first class like an NFL training center.  Hunter has done a great job of really evolving the developmental system that we first started in 1996.  Just the fact that everyone has come to the realization that there does need to be a place where everything is centralized…I think that is the key.  Now they’re going all over the world with plans to put performance centers in England, China, Saudi Arabia…”
On WWE originally trying to potentially limit the success of FCW:  “We had Harley Race come in to FCW to talk to the guys.  We were running a show that night and we wanted to advertise that Harley would be there.  The (WWE) office said no; we couldn’t advertise Harley being there.  We never got an answer why.  Were they trying to sabotage FCW?  I don’t know.  But the culture is very different today.”
On WWE originally not wanting to sign independent wrestlers:  “We weren’t looking to sign independent talent.  We didn’t want to bring bad habits to the WWE.  Now they are going after all of the hotshot indy guys, and that’s a good thing.  There (is a lot of talent) out there.  To build a brand you have to have your audience.  Obviously there is an audience for old school wrestling like with MLW.  You have your AEWs, and you have your NXTs.  Not everyone likes the same thing.  It’s great to have (brands) like that.”
When talent started to be scripted and over produced:  “I think when it really started to change is when WCW was no more and it was pretty much WWE as your main course menu.  I think that happened because when you are doing 5 hours of TV each week, you can’t always trust everyone to go out there and cut a promo if they’re not great at cutting promos.  I believe it should be authentic, and when you cut a promo it should come from you.  Some guys can do it because it’s instinctive.  A lot of guys don’t know how to tell a story, have a point, and get it across.  I think (time and the impact of live TV) is a huge part of why it’s scripted.  MJF is one of the guys (that can cut unscripted promos); I don’t think they script everything for him (in AEW).”
On his new wrestling school with Glen Jacobs:  “We’re only 8 months old and we already have some very promising guys…Jake Tucker is a top student…Dylan McQueen, Haley Jones, Kenzie McHenry…If you’re going to open up a wrestling school, you can’t promise anything, but you can do everything in your power to give them the tools to be able to be looked at.  We’re open to working with any (promotion) as long as they take care of our guys….I think we have a few connections at WWE…Glen is still under contract, and I heard my brother is up there doing something…”
On perseverance when trying to break into the business:  “It took Nattie Neidhart six tryouts.  Six times she went, six times she was told no.  On the seventh attempt she got hired.  She came from a wrestling family, understands the business, went to Stu Hart’s dungeon…those things happen.  Failure is part of the process to get where you want to be.  We’ll give (talent) the chance to succeed and fail.”
On the potential impact of Bruce Prichard, Eric Bischoff, and Paul Heyman in WWE:  “I don’t know about ratings because old people watch TV and young kids watch devices and (programming) on demand.  The TV watching of today is nothing like it was 30 years ago and even 20 years ago.  You have to have the talent, the vehicle, and the attention of the audience that you’re looking for.  Once you’re in (the WWE) environment, you really do become in a bubble because you’re in that environment 24/7.  You’ll accept calls at 2am, or if you won’t, you won’t be there much longer.  They need people there that understand what made them successful before.  Bruce was part of the team that was a huge success before; Bischoff knows what it’s like to compete; Paul Heyman is Paul Heyman.  I think it’s nothing but positive.  WWE will be a success and a money maker regardless.”
On AEW:  “I don’t see a war coming anytime soon even though AEW is going to give it a great shot.  I am rooting for those guys…I think it’s beneficial for guys to have more places to work.  I’m interested to see how AEW does in their first six months.  They do have some innovative people there, but they are sailing into something that they’ve never really done before.  It’s intriguing to watch.”
On breaking into the business with Bruce:  “I started watching wrestling first.  When we moved from El Paso to Houston, our mom took us to the matches every Friday night (and we fell in love with the business).  I worked in the office first, and Bruce came right behind me.  He really adapted to it; he had the moxy to get in there and do the real heavy lifting in the office.  He wanted to wrestle too but he had bad knees, so he really dedicated himself to learning everything there is to learn on the other side of the table.”

IS WWE NXT ABOUT TO JUMP TO THE USA NETWORK?

there have been a lot of rumblings about WWE taking WWE NXT off the WWE Network and placing it elsewhere, with FOX Sports 1 being the most speculated possibility.

However, over the last 48 hours, various outlets have been told there’s a pitch for the series to be moved to Wednesdays on the USA Network starting this October, with the idea NXT would be graduate into a live two-hour series from Full Sail University in Florida.  The idea would be for the series to start in that form on 10/2, which of course is the same date that All Elite Wrestling launches its own weekly series on TNT.

Should this pitch move forward, the head to head would be the closest approximation of the old Monday Night War between WCW and the then-WWF since March 2001 as there would be two wrestling brands on similar cable broadcast platforms at the same time.  It should be noted that with the evolution in technology, such as streaming, DVRs, etc. 2019 viewing would change the outlook of the head to head aspect with metrics being measured much differently than just the Nielsen ratings, as was the norm in the Monday Night War era.

It should be noted Impact Wrestling did attempt to go head to head with Monday Night Raw several years ago, but the idea died a fast death with Impact retreating back to its former home of Thursdays on SpikeTV after just ten weeks.

The USA Network aired an episode of WWE NXT on 12/13/17 as part of a "WWE Week", bringing in 841,000 overnight viewers.
