One NXT UK STAR SUSPENDED AND ANOTHER ONE FIRED
NXT UK star Joe Coffey has been suspended by World Wrestling Entertainment, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Coffey was the subject of online allegations of improprieties against a woman, who made the claims anonymously over the last week as part of the #speakingout movement.
WWE sources declined to comment further beyond acknowledging the suspension.
Multiple sources have confirmed that NXT UK referee Joel Allen was released over the weekend by WWE. Allen was seen in a video leaked by an ex-girlfriend of independent talent David Starr after Starr was accused of some serious allegations, which is believed to have led to Allen's release.
Allen follows the releases of NXT UK stars El Ligero, Travis Banks and former 205 Live star Jack Gallagher in the wake of the #speakingout movement online.
Talents were also made clear that any future allegations against talent will be taken seriously by the company and that WWE would be taking an extremely hard-line stance against them. That falls in line with what many news outlets have heard over the last week, which is that the company won't tolerate any future issues and will be very quick to release and suspend talents and even revoke potential new deals from talents should anything come up.

Cody discusses NXT’s Great American Bash
While appearing on Busted Open Radio, Cody discussed NXT’s Great American Bash: “So there are two events. People, I think sometimes mistakenly think Dusty just named Starrcade and Great American Bash, and it’s well beyond naming them. It’s a matter of booking them, of marketing them, of the creation of what the event stands for, especially at the advents of pay-per-views. My dad always told me that Starrcade was for my sister and that Great American Bash was for me and obviously at the time he came up with these events, I’m not sure if that was actually the case but that’s what he told me and that’s why it’s very special, both events to me and my sister. I’m not going to get angry, because it still brings up his name in a positive way".
The marketing of the event reminds me a lot of what Disney currently does. If you go to Disney World, they still sell Haunted Mansion shirts and they are all done retro-style. That’s something that’s been marketed really well. They market nostalgia. If you run a sizzle with Sting and Dusty Rhodes and Hulk Hogan, none of those guys are gonna be there. So it’s a unique marketing thing. I’m not really upset about it. I know my sister was kind of -- really thought it was so strange it was announced willy nilly, last minute.
" In the strangest of ways, I would hope that they do something special with it. I think our show is better. I think it will be better in execution but I hope they do something special with it because I hated what Michael Hayes did with Starrcade. He took a creation of my dad’s and he made it a live event because they weren’t selling any tickets in North Carolina and he wanted to save his job, and that was disappointing to me in terms of that was the premier event in World Championship Wrestling and the NWA and you did what you did with it and the same I hope is not what happens with Great American Bash. "
"I’m not upset at anything that brings my dad’s name in a positive light. Is it a weird feeling? For sure, but I’ve also been in a tag match with my brother competing ratings-wise against the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. One guy who I’ll never mind competing with is my own dad. I’ll never mind that and The Great American Bash… it is what it is and I hope that they do something positive with it. That’s really the only outlet I have on it unless I had like three or four Bourbons and then I would have an absolutely different outlook on it. But I like that they bring his name up in a charming and loving way. I just hope it’s not another Starrcade situation.”

'KILLER' TIM BROOKS PASSES AWAY AT 72 AFTER BATTLE WITH CANCER
Tim Brooks, best known as "Killer" Tim Brooks, who wrestled full time around the U.S., Puerto Rico and Japan from 1970 through 1989, passed away today at the age of 72.
Brooks had been battling cancer for several years that was known to be terminal.
He was from Waxahachie, TX, and spent most of his career wrestling out of the Dallas office. His original stardom came while working for The Sheik in Michigan where he held the NWA World tag team titles twice with Ben Justice and once with Abdullah The Butcher. He was also a regular mid-level heel during the heyday of World Class Championship Wrestling when it was syndicated nationally.
As Bad News Brooks, he was the regular tag team partner of Roddy Piper in Oregon. It was Buddy Rose & Ed Wiskoski's (aka Col. DeBeers) attack on Brooks when he was scheduled to leave the territory that led to Piper's babyface turn that was one of the hottest business periods in the history of the Pacific Northwest.
Brooks was also a good friend of Bruiser Brody. In 1985, Brody had his last match in All Japan before he was to leave for New Japan. He turned a match against Olympic wrestlers Riki Choshu and Yoshiaki Yatsu into a fight, noting that he would not have done so if he didn't have confidence in Brooks as his partner and backup.
In 1986, he got a major push in Montreal as Brody's brother (Big Buster Brody) with the idea he was insane.
He was also part of a key angle in Georgia when he defeated Paul Orndorff to win the National heavyweight title in 1983, "selling" the belt to Larry Zbyszko. NWA President Bob Geigel was part of the angle when he stripped Zbyszko of the title who ruled that you can't sell a championship.
Brooks continued to wrestle on independent shows through 1997 in Texas and opened the North American Wrestling Alliance training school, promoting shows in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
He trained a number of wrestlers with the biggest names being the original Awesome Kong (a male wrestler who was a Texas star) and current WWE star Keith Lee who honored him on Twitter.

TRIAL IN DEATH OF INDEPENDENT WRESTLER MATT TRAVIS TO BEGIN NEXT MONTH IN NYC
The trial of Luc C. Vu, the man arrested following the death New York City independent wrestler Matt "Travis" Palacios, before New York Criminal Court is slated to begin Monday 7/20, PWInsider.com has learned.
Vu has been charged with reckless driving, failure to yield to a bicyclist, failure to obey a traffic device, driving left of pavement marking and failure to exercise due care in December 2019, leading to Palacios' death.
Palacios was struck while traveling on a bike path in East Harlem about 2:30 AM on Saturday 11/9/19 when a dump truck driver made an illegal left u-turn to get onto the Willis Avenue Bridge. Travis was struck and although rushed to the hospital, suffered serious trauma and was pronounced dead when he arrived. It is not clear whether Vu was aware he struck Travis. Vu was driving for Parsipanny, New Jersey-based D&A Contracting LLC, which fired him upon learning of his arrest.
“I’m shocked, happy and depressed at the same time,” said Palacios' mother, Yolanda Nieves to StreetblogNYC several months back. “I was so depressed without my son. [Vu] should pay for what he did to my child — if it was a mistake he could have said he was sorry, but I haven’t heard any apologies.” Nieves told Streetblog she felt she had been kept in the dark during the investigation.
Palacios, who was returning home from professional wrestling training when he was struck, was only 25 years old.

THE NEVER ENDING SOAP OPERA OF.. . JARRETT VS. IMPACT LAWSUIT SET TO GO TO TRIAL TOMORROW
Unless something unforeseen happens, Jeff Jarrett and his company, Global Force Entertainment will have their day in court this week. Their lawsuit against Impact Wrestling parent company Anthem is scheduled to officially go to trial tomorrow.
At the center of the case is whether Impact Wrestling retained the rights to continue to use footage of Global Force Wrestling's Amped! TV taping footage, that nobody bu Jarrett cares about as he thinks he can make a nickel off of them somewhere.. which Jarrett (at the time Chief Creative Officer of the company) made the call to use. Jarrett is claiming that after his termination, Impact no longer had those rights. Exacerbating the situation is that Impact had the masters from the GFW footage deleted from their servers, which was definitely a dumb ass move on Anthem's part.. Which Jarrett is claiming has prevented him from trademarking the content and is a huge financial loss. Impact has claimed the company only generated $10,000 in revenue from using GFW content and selling it on DVD and PPV (He's lucky even got that as that product truly sucked ass anyway). Jarrett is also attempting to wrest the rights to the trademark of his name away from Anthem.
Over the last week, there has been a flurry of activity, including Jarrett's side attempting to add Karen Jarrett to their witness list, which the court did not allow. Jarrett also attempted to have specific instances of his behavior while working for Anthem kept away from the jury, feeling it had no bearing on the ownership and use of the GFW name, trademarks, etc. but the court did not rule in Jarrett's favor on that issue, so his behavior before seeking treatment for his personal issues can be discussed during testimony in the trial.
The two sides had several settlement discussions over the process but were unable to come to terms. Now, unless there is a last second compromise, they will be going before the jury.

FORMER IMPACT WRESTLING STAR TO STAND TRIAL NEXT MONTH, A YEAR AFTER BEING NAMED ONE OF EL PASO'S MOST WANTED FUGITIVES
Court records indicate that former WWE developmental and Impact Wrestling star Trenesha Daniyall Biggers aka Rhaka Khan, 37, is scheduled to stand trial on Friday 8/7 at 8 AM before the 409th District Court in El Paso, Texas on charges of interference with child custody and "aggravated kidnapping facilitate". Biggers is being represented by a public defender.
Biggers was indicted on the charges in August 2019, leading to her being listed as one of El Paso’s most wanted fugitives after failing to appear in court. There are two court instances where her no-shows led to her bail being revoked. She was finally arraigned in December 2019. The trial was originally set for this past April but was later pushed back to August.
In the State of Texas, interference with child custody is when someone "takes or retains a child when that person knows that the taking or retention of the child violates a judgment or order." It is considered a state jail felony and can be punishable by up to two years in prison.
Aggravated kidnapping facilitate, according to Texas law, "involves knowingly or intentionally abducting another individual with the intent to hold the victim for reward or ransom, Use the victim as a hostage or shield, Inflict bodily injury on the victim, Sexually abuse or violate the victim, Facilitate the commission of a felony or facilitate the flight after the commission or attempt to commit a felony, Interfere with the performance of any political or governmental function and/or terrorize the victim or a third party." There is no word which definition of the charge is being pursued in Biggers' case. In Texas, aggravated kidnapping can be classified as either a first or second degree felony depending on the situation. If it is classified as a first degree felony, it can be punishable by up to $10,000 in fines and anywhere from five years in jail to life imprisonment. Again, there is no word, based on court records, how the charge is being classified in this case.
Court records indicate Biggers is also slated for a status conference on Thursday 8/13 before El Paso County Court on another charge where she has been charged with interfering in public duties related to a charge filed against her in 2017.
Biggers had yet another charge of interfering with public duties filed against her on 11/13/19 by the El Paso County Clerk, but there are no available court records on where that charge stands.
In April 2019, Biggers was also arrested for possession of marijuana in El Paso but that case was dismissed in June 2019.
Bigger last wrestled in 2011 for the now-defunct Lucha Libre USA promotion, which aired on MTV. Biggers was part of the 2005 WWE Diva Search and was signed to a developemental contract after failing to make it past the top 25 contestants in the search. She was sent to Deep South Wrestling but was released in May 2006. She worked for a number of independent promotions and in Japan before signing with Impact Wrestling in 2008, departing that promotion in 2009. She worked for Lucha Libre USA in 2010 and 2011.

Thunder Rosa On Empowering Women In Wrestling, Calling For The Next Women's Evolution
Thunder Rosa is the current NWA Women's Champion and also competes in Women of Wrestling. She has made it a mission to empower other women in the industry to know their worth and get what they deserve.
Rosa discussed what it takes to be an empowered woman in wrestling when she joined the Duke Loves Rasslin' Podcast.
"I really do want to empower other women to become businesswomen, because pro wrestling is a business. I've been so blessed for the last four years; I haven't had to work a regular 9 to 5 job. I've been talking to my friends about investing money, buying a house, taking classes that's going to help me build my brand even bigger. I trademarked my name. Wrestling is more than being in the ring, and this is the mentality we're trying to ingrain in the new generation. That's what's going to empower them," said Rosa.
"When they go to the big leagues they're not going to be eaten by the big companies. They're going to be like 'You know what? No, this is what I deserve. This is my contract; let me talk to my lawyer. You're not going to do me like that because I want to be branded WWE or AEW.' No! They're going to know what they're worth. That's the problem that we have; so many people are so unhappy working in the big companies because they're not making what they need to make. They're just sitting down there struggling with money. It shouldn't be that way."
The Women's Revolution was a progressive movement in pro wrestling, but there hasn't seemed to be much advancement, since then. Rosa talked about how women's wrestlers are still being treated as less than their male counterparts.
"There's still a lot of big promotions with only one women's match. Seriously, it's the year 2020. You can pay a guy $600 but you can't pay a girl just as talented as the guy $200 and a flight? She's probably sleeping on someone's floor. I've done it," revealed Rosa. "After Lucha Underground and sleeping in a 5-star hotel in downtown LA, I had to sleep on the floor of my Tia and Tio with Holidead and we had to sleep in Holidead's car. I wanted to make a name for myself, and when you're so hungry you do what you have to do."
Rosa wants women's wrestlers to get more opportunities in the big promotions. She didn't hesitate in calling them out.
"When is the next show for the Women's Evolution? Please can you tell me? It's been over two years. There are 60 or 70 women in NXT; I don't see an all-women's show. Why is nobody saying anything? AEW; where is the show where women are being highlighted? Come on! Can somebody please tell me? If I'm going to get heat for this, I don't care anymore," admitted Rosa. "It's 2020 and we're not going to be silent anymore. I'm not talking about being sexualized, I'm talking about being treated as professional wrestlers with the respect we deserve. We should be thankful Shimmer, Shine and Stardom are running WrestleCon? You should be ashamed of yourself. For many, many decades women's wrestling was put on the back burner. We need more spaces. There are so many girls who are sitting on the benches watching other girls work because there aren't enough spaces for us."

SURE TOOK HIM LONG ENOUGH BUT.. MIKE QUACKENBUSH ADDRESSES ALLEGATIONS TOWARDS CHIKARA, HIMSELF AND HIS TRAINERS
Some editor notes added in as I watched this.
“This is entirely separate from the fictional world of pro wrestling storylines, characters, etc” Starts video by introducing himself with wrestling gimmick name.
Yeah, you can already by the way he began this video that this is gonna go down hill, fast.
This appears to have been edited together, like maybe he deliberately edited some things out? It also feels like thirteen minute wrestling promo the way he's talking on it.
Mike "Quackenbush" Spillane posted the following video this morning, breaking down and addressing all of the allegations made against him and other CHIKARA staff and trainers last week, leading to him shuttering the promotion and stepping down as the head trainer of its WrestleFactory school in Philadelphia:

WELL WELL.. The WWE FINALLY Decides It Wants To Do Something And Fires Both Travis Banks & El Ligero
While WWE hasn't gathered the guts to officially announce Banks' release Or El Ligero's release, They have removed both from the NXT UK roster page of their website.
Last week, Banks was accused by wrestler Millie McKenzie of numerous acts of wrongdoing while he was her trainer, including engaging in a relationship with her while she was under 18. McKenzie stated that as her trainer, Banks abused his position of trust.
Banks responded last week via Twitter, writing:
Ligero was accused of harassment and wrongdoing by several female wrestlers in Great Britain as part of the #SpeakingOut movement. Wrestler Violet O’Hara/Claire-Michelle Oldfield stated in an Twitter post that Liger had "indecently assaulted" her after she allowed him to lay in her bed when he was let into a hotel room she was sharing with others.
He responded to those accusations before deleting his Twitter account. In the now-deleted response, Ligero wrote, "The current story that has been released by Violet O’Hara/Claire-Michelle Oldfield is neither accurate nor true. This is a completely false allegation and whilst I’ve done other things in my life that I deeply regret, this isn’t an accurate or truthful portrayal of events. This is something I strongly deny and is something I’ve been in the process of speaking to a legal team about. Regarding the other statements from people like Laura, Natalie who have spoken out about the way they were made to feel, and others that have come forward about unwanted messages, I have no excuse. It’s inappropriate, it’s an embarrassment and it’s an absolute shameful way to act from someone in a position of trust. I sincerely apologise for my actions and any hurt I’ve caused. I have no justification of my actions in the slightest. In these situations, I have failed people as a friend, as a fiancée and as a decent human being."
If the story isn't true, then why was he so quick to delete his Twitter account? Makes you go, HHMMMM. Innocent people don't do that so what is he really trying to hide?
His accuser's statement can be found here. https://twitter.com/Lil_MissViolet/status/1273926635356643328?s=20

Backstage Fight w/ Elgin & Callihan Reportedly Happens At Recent Impact Tapings, Elgin Fired From Impact
Michael Elgin and Sami Callihan were reportedly involved in a physical altercation backstage at the recent Impact Wrestling TV tapings in Nashville.
Elgin and Callihan were reportedly setting up a match that also involved Ken Shamrock when the incident occurred, according to Fightful Select. The two reportedly disagreed on how the match should start, and the disagreement escalated to where they ended up fighting.
Impact Co-Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore reportedly stepped in and broke the fight up.
Impact announced that they had suspended Elgin while "#SpeakingOut" allegations against him were investigated. Impact issued a statement to confirm that Elgin will not be appearing in any further Impact programming. The statement reads like this:
"Impact Wrestling announced that Michael Elgin will not be appearing in any further Impact Wrestling programming."
Word is that Elgin is done in Impact. He has been removed from the Impact website roster, and all of his merchandise has been pulled from the Shop Impact website. Impact officials reportedly informed Elgin of their decision earlier today.
There's no word yet on what Elgin's departure means for the Slammiversary main event set for the July 18 pay-per-view. Impact announced on Thursday that Tessa Blanchard had been released and stripped of the World Title, which left Elgin vs. Trey Miguel vs. Ace Austin vs. Eddie Edwards in a Fatal 4 Way. Now it's believed that other opponents will be added to Miguel vs. Austin vs. Edwards, which will be to crown the new Impact World Champion at Slammiversary.
Impact will not be able to use any pre-Slammiversary footage they had shot with Elgin, and are reportedly working on how they will reconfigure upcoming Impact TV episodes for the build to Slammiversary. They do not have any TV tapings scheduled in the lead up to Slammiversary, but they are weighing their options based on other content taped, and possibly filming new material remotely.
Michael Elgin took to Instagram this afternoon and issued a statement after it was reported that Impact Wrestling was parting ways with him following accusations coming out of the "#SpeakingOut" movement on social media.

IMPACT WRESTLING TERMINATES TESSA BLANCHARD, STRIPS HER OF IMPACT CHAMPIONSHIP
Impact Wrestling confirmed this evening that it has terminated the contract of reigning Impact Wrestling Champion Tessa Blanchard and has stripped her of the title.
Impact’s statement reads as follows:
“Impact Wrestling confirmed that it has terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact Wrestling World Championship.”
Blanchard had not competed for the promotion since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic. She had been slated to return to the company at the 7/18 Slammiversary PPV in Nashville, defending against four challengers, Trey Miguel, Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin and a fourth competitor originally slated to be Michael Elgin, who will not compete unless the company clears him from the suspension that was announced earlier this week.
Relations between Blanchard and Impact had become increasingly icy in recent weeks, especially after Blanchard did not send promos from Mexico (where she has been residing) for the 6/1 episode of Impact on AXS. That footage was slated to have been edited into a sit-down interview conducted by Josh Mathews “via satellite.” When that material was not received, Impact had to re-edit the episode with other content and have host segments of the show changed and new voiceovers cut.
Impact sources cite that there were attempts made to get Blanchard to return and drop the title but that the two sides were not able to come to terms. Blanchard's deal was slated to expire before the PPV but Impact was hoping that she would return for a final appearance. When it became increasingly obvious that wasn't going to happen, Impact opted to cut bait and move forward.
Blanchard, 24 years old, is the daughter of Tully Blanchard and the step-daughter of Magnum TA. She debuted for Impact in 2018 and ascended to the Impact Wrestling Championship, winning the belt from Sami Callihan at the Hard to Kill PPV. During her time with the company, she also held the Knockouts Championship and last year won the promotion's 2019 Wrestler of the Year Award.
There is no word that Blanchard’s departure from Impact means for her fiancé Daga, who we are told remains under what is described as a “multi-year” Impact Wrestling contract.
Blanchard's father, WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard, currently works for All Elite Wrestling, managing Shawn Spears.

Deonna Purrazzo On If She Had Talks With AEW After WWE NXT Departure, Why She Signed With Impact
Deonna Purrazzo was released from WWE NXT in mid-April due to company-wide cuts brought on by COVID-19, and she's already booked for her first title shot with Impact Wrestling. Purrazzo vs. Impact Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has been confirmed for the July 18 Slammiversary pay-per-view.
Purrazzo recently spoke with entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet and said she would love to go to AEW, but Impact gave her security.
Purrazzo talked about whether she had talks with AEW after being released from WWE, and why she signed with Impact Wrestling.
"I mean like, some people had reached out, but it was all kind of like fleeting," Purrazzo said of AEW. "There was no like, 'You're gonna have a meeting' or, 'We're gonna sit down and do this.' Luckily, I had been to Impact before, I know the people there and it was right away like, 'We'd like to have you, let's talk about it when we can.' It was just more of a secure thing.
"But I also think too for me, I don't want to... and it's funny now that we've seen my debut so this is kind of like contradictory to what I've done, but I want to get back to the wrestler I was before NXT, and I want to find myself again and find happiness and all of the things that as a performer I lacked when I was competing in NXT. I want to do that before I go somewhere that's as mainstream as AEW that has the critics of AEW. I don't want to go there and be exploring myself and kind of fall into the same role that I fell in in NXT. And luckily Impact is a place that understands who I am, is totally on board with what they think I can do and are willing to give me the time to the character development that I need."
Purrazzo continued and talked about possibly going to AEW in the future, noting that Impact is what she needed as a person and a wrestler right now.
"So I think all things considering, it just really worked out well there," she continued. "But who knows, you know? I would love to go to AEW. There's so many girls that I haven't gotten to work with, friends that are there and I love what they're doing with their women's division. It was just like a timing thing and I think what I need more as a person and a wrestler right now."
Purrazzo made her Impact in-ring debut on this week's show, defeating Alisha Edwards.

Amateur Night Over On A YouTube Channel (Can't Make This Shit Up, I Swear)
I was going thru the latest uploads from the channels I subscribe to on YouTube when THIS, FUCKING GEM, came up.
As you can see, I replied to it because it sure isn't fucking Al Madril Norton's facing. Had it been it would've been added as a "Mat Memory", but this.. is some dumb ass sleeping on the job.
You had one job, jack ass. Title the video correctly and someone couldn't even do THAT right. (rolls eyes).

CHIKARA SHUTTING DOWN AMID ALLEGATIONS AGAINST MIKE QUACKENBUSH
in the wake of allegations against CHIKARA and owner Mike Quackenbush, an announcement is forthcoming that the promotion is shutting down.
We are told by multiple sources that Quackenbush will also announce he is resigning at the head trainer of the WrestleFactory wrestling academy in Philadelphia, PA.
CHIKARA was founded by Quackenbush in 2002 in Pennsylvania, eventually running all over the Eastern seaboard and internationally in Great Britain. It held working relationships with numerous international promotions and brought in a slew of unique international stars from Japan, Mexico, Great Britain and beyond over the years, including lots of joshi puroresu talents. It's flagship weekend was the King of Trios, a multi-day six-person tag team tournament.
There were numerous allegations made overnight, describing alleged systematic abuse towards female trainees and staffers. You can find those accounts at this link. https://twitter.com/CZWiggy
We are told in the wake of the allegations, Quackenbush held numerous meetings with Zoom overnight and this afternoon with talents and staff.
CHIKARA regulars Hallowicked, Jacob Hammermeier and Kimber Lee earlier announced they were done with the company. Numerous other talents are distancing themselves from the company publicly as well:
Effective Immediately I am resigning from CHIKARA. I gave everything I had to the company, and while I do not believe any of the allegations levied are against me personally. I can not in good conscience continue with this company. Thank you for the years of support.
— FRIGHTMARE (@FrightmareLucha) June 24, 2020
I have officially resigned from CHIKARA. I am greatful for the time I have spent there and the chance to work with some amazing talents. For the time being I am still reachable through this account for anyone who needs to talk, or needs someone to listen.

Effective immediately I tender my resignation to Chikara. The Wrestle Factory Carolina Dojo will return to being The Carolina Wrestling Academy. I do not condone any actions by the Philadelphia school and will no longer be associated with the brand.

I can't emphasize how badly my heart hurts right now.
I've decided to separate myself from CHIKARA.
Please be understanding of others as they process and grieve. This is an especially trying time for all of the members of the family I made there.

Effective 6/23, I have ended my relationship with both CHIKARA and The Wrestle Factory. These places felt like home since my first adventure as a fan in 2008. I appreciate the great people I've met along the way. To those people, we will stay in touch.

I can't emphasize how badly my heart hurts right now.
I've decided to separate myself from CHIKARA.
Please be understanding of others as they process and grieve. This is an especially trying time for all of the members of the family I made there.

wXw (UK) Parts Ways With Julian Pace and Jay Skillet
wXw announced that Julian Pace and Jay Skillet will no longer be part of their promotion or the wXw Wrestling Academy: “In light of wXw Wrestling Academy students stepping forward Julian Pace and Jay Skillet will no longer be part of wXw and the wXw Wrestling Academy. We have six more episodes of wXw Shotgun 2020 filmed and produced. Both wrestlers have (bigger) roles during the series, one of them is part of three more matches and of the main storyline. We cannot feature either of them with a good conscience anymore. We thus will be suspending the weekly release of the upcoming episodes of Shotgun effective immediately. We will edit all episodes accordingly and take out any segments/matches involving either of wrestlers. All remaining six episodes of Shotgun will be released in shorter, edited form in July. New release dates will be decided on once we have had time to digest this situation.”
IWL (UK) Receives Ultimatum- Unbook Pollyanna Or Lose Venue For Show
The London-based International Wrestling League promotion posted a series of tweets on Sunday alleging that a venue gave them the option of unbooking Pollyanna from a show in 2018 or losing the venue because Will Ospreay was uncomfortable with Pollyanna being booked for them:
“We've been trying to put something decent together but f*ck that, lets call a spade a spade. Shortly after announcing [Pollyanna] vs Renfrew, we got a message from the venue asking us to call them to discuss something. The call went something like: Will's our boy and feels uncomfortable with you booking Pollyanna. I told them I wasn't going back on my word with Polly, but would not book her going forward. That wasn't an option, the option was unbook Polly or lose the venue. (1st show there) Apologies to [Pollyanna] who despite fighting a one-sided, was always professional.
To @WillOspreay, go f*ck yourself and your half-arsed apologies.” Ospreay issued a statement on Saturday denying that he’s ever been part of any group trying to blacklist Pollyanna from pro wrestling after she accused a friend of Ospreay’s of sexually assaulting her. Ospreay has yet to comment publicly on the IWL's tweets.

AS MARTY SCURLL REMAINS EMPLOYED BY THE NWA & ROH - HE RELEASES STATEMENT ON SEXUAL ALLEGATIONS
MARTY SCURLL RELEASES STATEMENT ON SEXUAL ALLEGATIONS
BY JOSH NASON | @JOSHNASON | JUN 23, 2020 5:21 PM
TWITTERFACEBOOKGOOGLE+
A day after being accused of taking advantage of an inebriated 16-year-old girl in 2015, ROH and NWA star Marty Scurll released a statement showing concern for those who feel unsafe at wrestling events while not admitting to any wrongdoing.
The woman, then 16, said she was drunk after working a 2015 IPW:UK show when Scurll propositioned her to go back to her hotel room. She couldn't get in her room and gave Scurll oral sex before he took her in a closet with the intent of having sex despite her saying she was a virgin. She said her friend showed up and told him to leave and he did.
She said unflattering rumors about her circulated the day after, but not about Scurll who no-showed the next day. She also said company founder Dan Edler had previously raped her and told her he wouldn't book Scurll again as he was jealous of what had happened.
The 31-year-old Scurll released a statement on Twitter Tuesday night where he didn't deny the encounter happened but believed it was consensual, adding it was also legal, a nod toward the age of consent in England:
"I am aware that a young woman has bravely come forward with her account of sexual abuse by some members of the wrestling community in the UK 5 years ago, a community I was a part of.
Although I truly believe that our encounter that evening was consensual, and the fact that the encounter was legal; is almost not the point. I understand now that she now views our encounter as a part of a bigger problem within the wrestling community.
What concerns me at this moment is that from what I have been reading, she is a fan of wrestling and was made to feel unsafe within that community. That is not acceptable. I also understand that some people have been attacking her on social media, and I implore you to please stop. She has a right to her voice and, and it our responsibility to listen."
As of this writing, neither ROH, where Scurll is part of the booking team, nor the NWA has released a statement regarding Scurrl or the #SpeakingOut movement in general.
Here's the woman's account of what happened.
DAVE LAGANA STATEMENT ON ALLEGATIONS THAT LED TO HIS NWA RESIGNATION
Former NWA Vice President Dave Lagana issued a statement today in response to the sexual assault allegation brought forth against him several days ago by independent talent Liz Savage that led to his resignation from the National Wrestling Alliance.
Lagana's statement reads as follows:
Statement from David Lagana
June 23, 2020
The #speakingout movement has brought to light a number of new allegations of sexual assault against people in the wrestling industry, including me. These allegations of sexual assault should be taken seriously and be investigated. Every accuser has a right to be heard, but every person accused of such serious wrongdoing deserves the right to defend themselves.
Last week, Liz Savage accused me via Twitter posts of sexually assaulting her a decade ago. Liz and I were friends for a total of about five to seven years before and after the alleged assault. We first met at a wrestling show sometime between 2006 and 2008 when she was introduced to me as an independent wrestler.
I take Liz’s allegations seriously. The first time I became aware of her allegations was last week when she made them public. I take them so seriously that I voluntarily stepped down from my position as Vice President of Lightning One Inc. and its company, the National Wrestling Alliance, after learning of her allegations. I did so because they pre-date this position and I didn’t want to involve the men and women of the National Wrestling Alliance during this time.
I valued my friendship with Liz. I’m sorry that she feels that I somehow wronged her. However, the incident she described did not happen.
Liz is correct that she lived with me and my female roommate from mid-August 2010 until October 1, 2010. Liz is also correct that she shared a bed with me while she lived with me. She is again correct that nothing about our relationship was romantic or sexual. Often, as we went to bed, we would cuddle and spoon in a nonsexual way. (We also did so the few times we shared a bed prior to her living me with in 2010.)
As Liz correctly said, I never made a nonconsensual move on her during waking hours. However, her claim that I made a nonconsensual move on her while we shared a bed is false. I did not touch her in the way she claimed. I never touched her like that, and I never would have.
But Liz’s allegation of sexual assault is not the only portion of her Twitter posts where I feel compelled to correct the record.
In early August of 2010, Liz informed me that a friend of hers invited her out to Los Angeles to attend a show that I was not affiliated with. Ultimately, she stayed with me and my roommate starting in mid-August. Liz suggests that I did nothing to help her upon her arrival. But, as a friend, I offered her all the help I could. This includes taking her to an NWA Hollywood event on August 25th where I introduced her to those in charge. I was an unpaid producer at the time with the NWA, so I had no hiring or firing authority.
Liz also left out the fact of her relationship with my female roommate. While the roommate did not initially know Liz was coming, once Liz arrived, she treated Liz like a sister. She gave Liz food and clothing, and drove her to job interviews. They remained friends for years after Liz moved out. But, despite their relationship, the first time my then-roommate found out about these allegations was last week.
Liz claims that I kicked her out of my apartment because of the alleged incident. Actually, in an email I sent to her on September 24th, 2010, I informed her that my landlord stated that, per my lease, any guest staying longer than two weeks consecutively would need to be added to the lease. The landlord said they were willing to look the other way for the seven weeks Liz was with me and my roommate, but would not do so after October 1st. I offered her some of my frequent flyer miles if she wanted a flight home.
After Liz moved out of my apartment, she and I remained in contact over social media and email for a few years, even endorsing me on LinkedIn in 2013. During that time, she would occasionally email me about opportunities in the wrestling industry that I did what I could to help with.
The #speakingout movement is creating change in our industry. I wish Liz all the best in her career inside the ring and out. But I adamantly deny her allegations against me and could not let them go without providing these details about our friendship.

IMPACT WRESTLING RELEASES RYAN & CRIST, SUSPENDS MICHAEL ELGIN
Impact Wrestling issued the following.
Impact Wrestling confirms that it has terminated its contracts with Dave Crist and Joey Ryan, effective immediately.
In addition, it has suspended Michael Elgin pending further review of allegations of misconduct.
Impact's production team was working all day to remove Ryan from tomorrow's episode of Impact on AXS. The Cancel Culture vs. Crazy Steve & mystery partners match, which was slated to be the first match on tomorrow's broadcast, will not air. Ryan has been accused in multiple cases of alleged sexual harassment and assault and has disappeared from social media. He has also closed his independent promotion, Bar Wrestling. Any Ryan-related Impact material that was taped will not see the light of day.
As noted earlier today, Dave Crist had been expected to be released by the company and was refused entry into the Impact locker room at the last set of TV tapings, having to change alone in another area. Sources noted there had been heat on Crist even before allegations of physical, mental and sexual abuse were made by several over the weekend as part of the #SpeakingOut movement on Twitter. Impact talents had expected his release even before the allegations came to light. Crist will not be appearing on Impact TV going forward. His brother, Jacob Crist, is not involved in this situation and remains with the company.
Elgin has also been accused of alleged improprieties in recent days. Impact has opted to suspend him while the issues are investigated. Depending on how long the investigation is and what the results are, it may mean Elgin is out of the 7/18 Slammiversary PPV, where he was slated to be among four challengers for the Impact title. Impact has yet to determine how they will handle in-ring material featuring Elgin on their AXS TV series, as he is a big part of the Slammiversary build and the majority of that was already taped. It's possible Impact will edit around Elgin or downplay him as long as the suspension is active, but that remains to be seen. Elgin was not slated to appear in the ring on tomorrow's TV episode, today's announcement came so late in the day because Impact did not wish to comment until they were sure talents had been contacted by the company.

"SSEEEE YYYAAA, SAMMY" - AEW SUSPENDS SAMMY GUEVERA INDEFINETLY
All Elite Wrestling issued the following announcement that Sammy Guevara has been suspended from the company, without pay, indefinitely:
AEW insists on doing our part to create a world of understanding and respect for humankind. We therefore strongly condemn the extremely offensive and hurtful words of Sammy Guevara.
As such, effective immediately, Sammy is suspended without pay until further notice. Sammy has agreed to undergo extensive sensitivity training and, upon completion, his future status within the company will be re-evaluated.
During his suspension, his salary will be donated to the Women’s Center of Jacksonville.
The suspension comes after fans online brought attention to a 2016 podcast appearance where Guevara, jokingly, commented, "“Bro, Sasha Banks, oh my God. When I was at the WWE the other week, I wanted to go rape that woman.

Allegations Of Abuse By Joey Ryan Surfaces.. And The Fallout From It Is...
Joey Ryan disappeared from all social media after his apology regarding alleged sexual harassment and abuse allegations opened the door to a slew of additional allegations coming to the public light.
Since that time, Ryan's promotion Bar Wrestling (which also deleted its social media) has lost its venue, The Bootleg Theater in California according to SoCalUncensored.com, The Highspots Wrestling Network has removed the promotion from its streaming service and Pro Wrestling Tees has removed Ryan's store.
Independent star Vanessa Kraven and Alex Gracia also became the latest to bring forth allegations against Ryan.
Impact Wrestling sources all but stated that Ryan was done with the company. There is content featuring Ryan that had been taped, but whether that is used or not remains to be seen.
In regard to allegations made over the last several days about the alleged improprieties of several Impact talents, including Ryan and Dave Crist, Impact Wrestling's parent company Anthem issued the following statement
"It is a core value of the Anthem organization that we conduct our business with respect and integrity, providing a safe and secure work environment for our employees and performers.
We are following carefully the various allegations being made through social media, and are reviewing all incidents involving Impact Wrestling talent and personnel to determine an appropriate course of action.
ere is the complete statement Ryan released on his now-deleted Twitter account:
I have been watching along with all of you as the #speakout movement has spread across the internet. I am also aware that my name has been mentioned as part of this discussion.
I have been contemplating how to respond to everything that has unfolded in the last three days. This is an important topic, and it truly deserves the time it is getting, even if it is uncomfortable.
After speaking with my attorney, I have been advised not to respond to any specific allegations at this time. And the truth of the matter is, I do not want to spend time dissecting which parts of stories are true, which parts are different from what I remember and which things being said are outright false. It is important for me to use this platform to take responsibility and not attempt to minimize the feelings of anyone that was hurt by me in order to save face.
So instead, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly share some parts of my private life with everyone. It is not a part of my life that I am proud of, but taking responsibility is important. Today, I must take responsibility for the way I behaved in the past, and I will do that right now.
As I am sure you are all aware, several years ago, and all in a very short period of time, a lot of things changed in my life. The ‘dick flip’ went viral. I started traveling the world and living a ‘rock ‘n roll lifestyle.’ I came into contact with a lot of people, including women. And, the truth is, I did not always treat people with respect. And I will acknowledge that it was possible that I pursued people that I thought were interested in me and invaded their personal space and made them feel uncomfortable in the process.
Nearly two years ago, my ex-wife and I were separated. The separation impacted me greatly and I began to reflect on the person I had been previous to it, and the person that I wanted to be. During that self-reflection, I was not proud of what I saw. As a result, I entered counseling in October 2018 and still attend every week to this very day. I have been on prescription medication. I have worked every day for nearly two years to be a person that respects not only people’s boundaries, but respects people. If you felt that you were a person that I did not treat with respect, I apologize. Aside from this post, I have been reaching out to some of the people involved and we have had positive interactions and started the healing process.
I have worked hard to make wrestling a safe and welcoming place for everyone. I will make up for my shortcomings of the past by working harder in the future to continue to do that. With all of the different social movements happening right now, we need to take this opportunity to listen and learn and continue to strive every day to do better.
After releasing his statement, at least 15 more people have accused Joey Ryan of sexual misconduct. After the flood of allegations, Ryan deactivated his Twitter on Sunday afternoon and has yet to comment further on any of the claims. The following is from Roc-C, Then Jetta.

Another One Bites The Dust As MLW ring announcer Mark Adam Haggerty Is Gone From The Company
MLW ring announcer Mark Adam Haggerty is gone from the promotion following texts showing inappropriate exchanges between himself and an underage minor.
The company announced the release in a short statement on Twitter. A number of other independent promotions have followed.
A wrestler by the name of Sully Banger shared text messages allegedly between Haggerty and an underage person.
“Here are inappropriate exchanges between Mark Haggerty and a 15 year old child,” Banger wrote. “The kid and their parents have consented to this being shared, but will remain anonymous. The kid has said they TOLD mark they were 15, and mentioned being a freshman in high school more than once.”
