Guess WWE's Can't Stick To A Creative Decision If Their Lives Depended On It

WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Erik and Ivar are now being called The Viking Raiders on the main roster

The name change was quietly made on the WWE website this afternoon.

As noted, Erik (Hanson) and Ivar (Rowe) came to the RAW brand from NXT in the 2019 Superstar Shakeup last week and there was a negative reaction to their new name, The Viking Experience. They had previously used The War Raiders as their name in NXT.

It was reported that Vince McMahon decided to change their name as he did not like The War Raiders. There's on word yet on if the new name, The Viking Raiders, was given in response to the negative reaction to last week's change, but it's possible. At one point the team was scheduled to be called The Berzerkers.

LMAO! At Calling them the Bezerkers, funny how they already been there, and done that With John Nord.

DUH!

And THIS, is why wrestlers actually WANT to go to the WWE? (rolls eyes)

Bully Ray On Why He Rejected Impact Wrestling's Offer After The Hardy Boyz Left The Company

In early 2017, the Hardy Boyz wrapped up their stint in Impact Wrestling after contract negotiations fell through. At that same time Bully Ray was wrestling as a singles competitor on the indie scene after leaving WWE.

Once the Hardyz made it official and left Impact, Bully Ray had a feeling that Impact Wrestlingwould give him a call about a possible return to the company. They did just that but Bully Ray explained why he declined Impact's offer.

"The minute The Hardyz left Impact I said to myself that within 24 hours my phone is going to ring and about 16 hours later my phone rang," Bully Ray said on Talk is Jericho. "I knew what they were going to come back with and they came and backed up the Brinks truck. Not Chris Jerichomoney, but they offered me a lot of money to come back.

"This is when Jeff Jarrett had come back into power with Ed Nordholm. They said that we want to bring you back, and for four days I was bashing my head into a wall because I couldn't believe I was considering it because the regime that was there, I didn't necessarily see eye-to-eye with in the past. I felt at times people were out to get me, which wasn't on paranoia, it was on facts. I didn't think I can top what I did, you know? I worked with Sting. I worked with Hulk Hogan. I was World Champion twice. The largest gate in TNA's history was me and Jeff Hardy at LockDown in a cage, 7,200 paid. I didn't know who I could go back to Impact and have that kind of business with and top what I was able to do with Bully Ray in the Aces & Eights."

Just as Bully Ray was considering a return, Impact did something that made Bully Ray sour on them and reject the offer.

"...And then they handed me creative for Drew Galloway. Everything they wanted to do with Drew Galloway and then Drew left, went back to WWE and they handed me his creative," stated Bully Ray. "I said that you can't just plug me into somebody else's stuff. I go, I was an established character here with an established history and story. We have to re-think this. They weren't willing to re-think anything and I walked away from the money and then I went back to the original company I wanted to be with.

"I always knew that Ring of Honor was the company that I wanted to be with, I just didn't know if Ring of Honor was willing to dip their toe in the water with an act that went so against what they are all about. Ring of Honor is more about the moves, and the spots, and I am talking about the story part of it. I said that one of the things that the company lacks is the storytelling. I wanted to bring storytelling to Ring of Honor; episodic week-to-week, month-to-month pay-per-views and stories where they can actually have a payoff and have other people benefit from it. I'm not looking to get myself over, and I know that having other people over I am going to get the residual of it and get them over in the process.

"We worked it out with ROH, and my first night was at the Hammerstein Ballroom, and it has been an amazing experience since."

CODY TO FACE DUSTIN RHODES AT AEW DOUBLE OR NOTHING

After weeks of teases, Cody Rhodes' opponent for Double or Nothing has been revealed.

Brothers will be facing off when Cody faces Dustin Rhodes at Double or Nothing. The show is All Elite Wrestling's first event and is taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 25.

The match was built up in episode 13 of AEW's Road to Double or Nothing series. Dustin was the focus of the video, with him saying he loves Cody and is proud of him but discussing a rift that exists between them. Dustin painted half of his face in the video, saying that the red stands for life and the black stands for death.

Dustin said Cody is making a mistake by having a match with him, that Cody is facing his reckoning, and their fight needs to end and should have ended years ago. Dustin closed the episode by saying: "One last ride -- or is it?"

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported on March 28 that Dustin's contract with WWE had recently expired and he was waiting to become a free agent, though Dustin tweeted that he was still under contract with WWE at the time.

Today's Road to Double or Nothing is available to watch below:

David Starr Calls Out Ring Of Honor, Sinclair Broadcasting For Title Match Change

According to David Starr who was supposed to be in an ROH World Championship match on April 21 at Berale Club in Central Israel, the title match won't be happening. He will still be battling former champion Jay Lethal at Israeli Pro Wrestling Association's Passover Bash 2019.

Starr pointed out on Twitter that if Lethal lost the title prior to the event, which he did to Matt Taven, then he should be facing the new champion. That's all according to an article from ROH's website.

His first tweet today about the incident was: "Dear Ring of Honor and Sinclair Broadcasting, want to explain why you decided to lie to IPWA & the Israeli wrestling fans? Regardless, the fans will get everything I have when I face Jay, but maybe its time you should reconsider the "honor" part of your name."

The day before, Starr shared a poster of the match, which someone did ask him about it not being against Taven. Starr replied with: "Ring of Honor and Sinclair Broadcasting lied. Big shock. #fakenews."

The title match was supposed to be the first time the ROH World Championship would be on the line in Israel.

Chris Jericho Talks Possibility Of Disgruntled WWE Stars Joining AEW, How Much Longer He Can Wrestle

Chris Jericho recently spoke with Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda and was asked about disgruntled WWE Superstars possibly signing with All Elite Wrestling. Jericho said some WWE talents they would love to have, but others they probably wouldn't take.

"It's different. We're not doing it that way where anyone who doesn't like what they're doing in WWE is automatically guaranteed a job in AEW," Jericho said. "We will look at every talent on an individual basis. There's some guys we'd love to have in WWE, and there's some guys we probably wouldn't take.

"Obviously we haven't even had a show yet and our roster is already very deep. When you talk about the Double or Nothing show, how many people can you book on that show? If you have 60-70 guys, you end up with the same problem as WWE."

The 48 year old Jericho, who signed a three-year deal with AEW back in January, was also asked about how much longer he thinks he can wrestle. Jericho said as long as he can keep delivering, that's all that matters to him. Jericho also indicated he's done with working smaller venues in smaller cities.

"I'll know when I know. All I can say is the last match I had at the Tokyo Dome was one of the best matches on the show. As long as I can keep delivering, that's all that matters to me," Jericho said. "The days of wrestling 100 times a year are done. I don't want to do that, I'm not interested in that. The way that I feel right now, I want to continue having great matches that mean something.

"Nothing against the fine people of, you know, Poughkeepsie, New York, or Kirriemuir, Scotland, or wherever, those days of going to those towns are done. Do I have ten more matches in me? 100 matches? 500? I don't know! I do know that when I finish this contract, I'll still be younger than The Undertaker, and he just signed a new contract, so it all depends on how I feel and I never wanted to be less than what I considered to be my best. The reason I'm still able to do it is because I really limit my matches and pick my spots. I think that was a smart move to be able to continue at a high level because I'm not cashing in all my chips on a yearly basis - and it's been working!"

WWE OBTAINS FEDERAL INJUNCTION ALLOWING CONFISCATION OF COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE

World Wrestling Entertainment successfully obtained an injunction order in the United States District Court of New Jersey on 4/15 in order to prevent distribution and sale of counterfeit items bearing the WWE name or any of its trademarks and copyrights over the next year.  The order would also allow WWE and local authorities to confiscate any counterfeit items found being sold by bootleggers. WWE.

The injunction noted that counterfeit merchandise was found being sold on the grounds of MetLife Stadium on 4/7 for Wrestlemania 35 and it was expected that such illegal sales would continue over the next year within a three-mile radius of WWE's live events.

The Court ruled, "(a) WWE is likely to succeed in showing that Defendants have used counterfeit or infringing marks in connection with the sale, offering for sale or distribution of goods or services; (b) WWE will suffer immediate and irreparable injury and will have no adequate remedy at law if this Court declines to grant a preliminary injunction and order of seizure; (c) the harm to WWE should this Court not grant the requested preliminary injunction and order of seizure clearly outweighs any harm which Defendants might incur if the preliminary injunction and order of seizure is granted; (d) the public interest is served with the issuance of the preliminary injunction and order of seizure."

The injunction ordered that "Federal, state, and local law enforcement officers are hereby authorized and directed to seize any and all Counterfeit Merchandise and any records documenting the manufacture, sale or receipt of the Counterfeit Merchandise, in the possession, dominion or control of Defendants, their agents or persons acting in concert or participation with them. All seized items shall be delivered up to the care and custody of Plaintiff or Plaintiff’s attorneys pending further instructions from the Court. The seized goods shall be kept in identifiable containers."

Anyone caught selling WWE merchandise has been ordered to provide their correct name and address, to appear before the court to defend themselves and to provide all details on any additional material they know is being sold.

WWE filed an injunction bond in the amount of $10,000 and the order will remain in effect until March 2020, at which point WWE will likely pursue a similar order in Florida, where Wrestlemania 36 will be held.  WWE annually attempts to obtain such injunctions to attempt to slow the tide of counterfeit merchandise featuring their performers, copyrights and trademarks.

Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore will present what is being billed as the final event ever held in the Nashville Fairground Arena (aka the TNA Asylum) as that building will be torn down as part of upgrades being made to the fairgrounds on Saturday 6/1.  Officially announced for that event today was WWE Hall of Famers, The Rock N' Roll Express vs. SCU's Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian.

Previously announced for the event are Dreamer, Bill Dundee, HOH TV Champion Willie Mack, an FBI reunion featuring Little Guido & Tracy Smothers, Swoggle, Jax Dane and Crimson.

The promotion will return to Philadelphia on Saturday 6/8 at the 2300 Arena with Dreamer, Swann, Guido, Teddy Hart, Joey Ryan, Billy Gunn and more.  Sunday 6/9, HOH will return to St. James, Long Island NY with Dreamer, Swann, Guido, Hart, Ryan, Gunn and more.

How Much Money Are WWE Developmental Talents Paid?

New WWE talents that are signed to developmental contracts are paid on average $50,000 to $150,000 per year, according to the new WWE feature in Sports Business Journal. The average pay for developmental talents is around $80,000 per year.

It was also noted that talent salaries can climb into the seven figures if they make it to the top of the company on RAW or SmackDown.

Triple H spoke with SBJ and said talents are taught technique, timing, camera awareness and presence, and how to avoid injury once signed.(More like the 'WWE Way" of how they do it).

"It's the emotional storytelling," Triple H said. "We are way more akin to 'Rocky' the movie than boxing, from the shooting and production of it." (That's laughable since the 'storytelling' of the main roster is pathetic at best, and all promos are written for the performers. HHH needs to stop lying like this).

How Bad Is It For Impact Being On The Pursuit Channel? Here's A Great Example.

Since it’s been a couple of months, I just want to point out how bad it is that The Pursuit Channel, which is partially OWNED by Anthem, still has yet to be able to correct their cable and satellite guide listings to properly show that Impact Wrestling is a two-hour series.  We continue to receive complaints about the issue from readers with different providers and again, this week, on my own provider, Sprectrum (Charter), doesn't even have the channel listed, another provider,  Verizon Fios, the series is listed for 30 minutes with 3 replays, which means that if you don’t add time to your DVR (or pay attention enough to care), you'll end up with 30 minutes and nothing more of the show.  I know that Impact management has been well aware of the issue and the channel is slow to respond to requests, but at this point, it’s beyond terrible that nothing has been fixed.  I feel bad for the company as they obviously aren’t getting the proper support from a network that shares the same parent company ownership.

But they chose this because really, no other channel wanted them so this is how bad it's gotten, and it doesn't look like it's going to get any better any time soon.

PPW High Voltage - March 31, 2019 - Rich Swann vs. KC Navarro vs. Desean Pratt

PPW is in the middle of Super Show season and High Voltage is no different. This week's Main Event features the returning TNA X-Division Champion Rich Swann as he takes on KC Navarro and Desean Pratt in a match that some are calling PPW Match of the Year worthy. Pratt and Navarro haven't been on the same page lately and it's blown up into full out competition between the two. The match is incredible and a must-watch. Elsewhere, the No Limits Championship was won recently by Charles Mason after he snuck a victory out in the PPW Battle Royal from Laszlo who had thought he'd won the title. Mason popped out from under the ring to dump him over the top and claim the prize. Evander James seems to have a change of pace on the way he views things. He gives a heart felt apology to the fans of Hazleton for his misguided ways, then proceeds to have PPW Commissioner TJ Masters come out and challenge Evander with his representative – Adam Chandler. All of this this week on PPW High Voltage airing Sunday at 8pm on WYLN-35 and PPW Facebook Page.
