AEW Star Shows WWE Rejection Letter From 2015

On Twitter, Gargano reflected on when he received his rejection e-mail from WWE after a tryout in 2015 and how the fans helped get him to where he is now.

"I still have my rejection email from my WWE tryout back in 2015. I look at it from time to time to remind myself how far I've come and why any of this happened to begin with. I didn't take 'no' for an answer. I fought for a chance. But I couldn't do this by myself. ... It didn't matter if it was a dark match in Full Sail or my 1st TakeOver at the Barclays Center. You chanted "Johnny Wrestling." You believed in me and they listened. We fought together to make any of this happen. We will fight to make one last dream come true in New York."

AEW Star Chuckie T responded to Gargano that he also still has his rejection letter from Canyon Ceman (Senior Director of Talent Development for WWE) and showed a photo of it.

"I hope you are well. I wanted to follow-up per our conversation at the end of your tryout. WWE does not have an opportunity for you in our developmental system. Future opportunities may be available in the form of a 'Rhyno' type loop/shot, as the NXT TV and touring brand evolves. Please keep me updated on your contract status, so we know if you are available for such opportunities. Thanks again for your effort and professionalism at the tryout, it was noticed and appreciated. Regards, Canyon Ceman"

Chuckie T responded with a "sad face."

Update On Jimmy Uso's Criminal Charges From Recent Arrest

SmackDown Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso just caught a big break in his Detroit, Michigan criminal case after he and his lawyer, John Freeman, landed a deal with prosecutors, according to TMZ.
Instead of facing possible jail time from charges of disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice, Uso is pleading no contest to a charge of interfering with a government employee. He was ordered to pay $450 in fine and the case is now closed.

Sting Pulled From Wrestlecon

Sting has been announced as signing for Wrestlemania AXXESS on Sunday, which led to the vendor bringing in Sting at Wrestlecon canceling his appearance..  Fans who pre-paid for autographs and photo-ops at Wrestlecon have received refunds already.  Wrestlecon is trying to step in and work out Sting appearing at another time next weekend but nothing has been locked in.   It should be interesting to see if WWE requires any other talents who are scheduled for Wrestlecon to be pulled from the event.

Wrestlecon is among a number of entities having issues locking in venue in the Tampa area as WWE already has agreements locked in via their partnership with the city preventing competing pro wrestling events in certain venues in that market over Wrestlemania 36 week.   WWN will obviously be running and will have no issues due to their relationship with WWE.  We are told that Game Changer Wrestling has locked in Tampa plans.  Everyone else is still up in the air

Interview Highlights: Kenny Omega talks about five-star matches, WWE interest, his new documentary, his AEW contract, not facing Okada at G1 Supercard, more

Kenny Omega spoke about a variety of topics with “The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling” about his documentary, “Omega Man: A Wrestling Love Story” set to premiere on TSN in Canada on Mar 27. This documentary was filmed with the idea of showing what the life of Kenny Omega is really like, spending his time living in Japan as well as chronicling matches in the United States. In addition to details about the documentary, they look into the last few months of Kenny Omega and his signing with AEW, what matches could be on the horizon for him, contract details, and what is next for the “Best Bout Machine.”

•The story behind the documentary’s conception: “This whole thing came about a year and change ago. I received my first email from the producers and director and they had asked if I would be so kind as to let them into my life and follow me a day in the life of Kenny Omega in Japan. I thought maybe this was going to be a foreigner trying to make it in Japan and I had my reservations about it at first because I have a certain way that I live my life in Japan, the way I prepare for my big matches and I was worried that having a film crew kind of buzzing around me at all times was going to sort of interrupt my zen, so I actually turned them down at first. It wasn’t until they responded much later with a very nice email and kind of going into depth as to why they selected me as a topic of discussion, I had seen that there was a lot of passion behind this project and that these people were familiar with my career and were very interested in telling my story. Of course they didn’t know at the time what that story would be, they just wanted to see what it was like in Japan and what my career was all about and I suppose in the end it has become the wrestling love story because the sort of reunion with Kota Ibushi was a very big deal for me in the year of 2018 and it was a very storied and a storied event between the two of us that ran the course of over ten years. So to have all that documented in this film is and I don’t know because I haven’t seen it yet, a pretty cool thing.”
•On not viewing the finished product before the premiere: “Truth be told, I’m a shy person and to me for lack of a better term it is a little embarrassing. I feel (I don’t know) strange to be the subject of a documentary. I’m used to wrestling camera crews following me, I’m used to wrestling style documentaries being aired on wrestling programs and wrestling streaming services but never a documentary that is a stand-alone documentary from people that don’t have experience in wrestling to kind of tell the story from an outsider perspective on wrestling. So, I was kind of scared to watch it and I didn’t think I would but now that sort of the preliminary reviews are coming in and generally they are all positive I might sit down and watch it because maybe there is nothing to be embarrassed about.”
Did his AEW contract prevent him from facing Okada at G1 Supercard: “I have zero restrictions on what I do as long as I feel it is in my best creative interests I am open to doing anything. But of course it has got to be a two way street and it takes two to tango and it is about timing. I was fully prepared for the epic showdown at Madison Square Garden and I thought it would have been a very cool match to have Okada / Omega at MSG and not because of the building. A building name or a location doesn’t really mean much to me. I have no emotional connection to Madison Square Garden and I know it is regarded as the mecca of Sports Entertainment in terms of a building but I just wanted to have that match on American soil just once. We sort of were able to show a little bit of our chemistry in America in the tag match we had (Myself and Ibushi vs. Okada and Ishii) and it felt good and it felt really fun and timing wise business is business and things didn’t work out the way that I had anticipated and we are not going to get it at Madison Square Garden. But that doesn’t mean that the story is over and the book is closed. We both are going to be very active in professional wrestling for a number of years I would assume and I think that if there is another opportunity for it and who knows it may be better to just wait it out and get that 5th match somewhere else down the line.”
•The ease of putting together a five star match: “It is a lot of pressure and, of course, it takes two to tango, but ironically when I use the word tango I can relate it to and liken it to perhaps ballroom dancing. Where the best dancers in the world can dance in sync with any partners that are professionally trained. Their body responds to every twitch of the muscle fiber and it almost becomes an animalistic response and it becomes reaction and becomes instinct and whether I’ve always had that or not I am not sure but I realized I had this skill in 2016 at the G1 in my first run in the G1. That was perhaps the way I wanted to approach my story telling plus the passion that I had and the pride that I had with my own performances were various components in a gigantic witches brew that allowed me to really evolve myself as a performer and once I made that gigantic evolutionary step I sort of felt that I unlocked the secret to I guess you could call it the five star match. Without sounding too egotistical, a five star match to me is kind of an easy thing to do with almost anybody. The only time I would falter in my quest to have a five star match was when I really go out of my way to try something absolutely new or something that I am unfamiliar with or 100 percent comfortable with because I could rehash and recycle the same old formula because I know what works, but if I start doing that than I’ll stop growing and I don’t feel that I am finished yet in my process or evolution. So, I am still going to get a little frisky and I am still going to try new things, but if someone had a gun to my head and said have a five star match with this guy, it is kind of light work at this point and pretty easy stuff.”

•On whether he has any WWE interest at all: “Right now no. Zero. Absolutely not. I am 100 percent focused on what we are doing with AEW and my interest starts and ends with just hoping the best for my friends that are there and I hope they do well, I know WrestleMania is coming up and it is a big show for them and I hope everyone kills it. If everyone is doing well than the industry does well and that is about it. Of course and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I just wait for the fantasy world which may or may not happen where we’ll work together someday.”

Superstar Billy Graham Says Kofi Kingston Going To WrestleMania Is A "Joke"

On last night's SmackDownBig E and Xavier Woods of The New Day were able to win a Tag Team Gauntlet Match that gave Kofi Kingston an opportunity against WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania. After the match, Kofi celebrated with his teammates and a good chunk of the SmackDown roster surrounded the ring to cheer on Kingston's accomplishment.
One individual who does not have "Kofimania" is WWE Hall of Famer "Superstar" Billy Graham who posted on his Facebook about Kingston getting a title shot. Graham was not thrilled about a "145 pound WWE Champion" and called the whole thing a "joke." Below is his full post.

MORE DETAILS ON WHAT LED TO ARREST WARRANT BEING ISSUED FOR TAMMY SYTCH, HEARING SET FOR NEXT MONTH IN PA

WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch is scheduled for a hearing regarding the potential revocation of her October 2018 parole on Friday 4/5 before Judge Joseph Matika in Carbon County Court in Pennsylvania.  As I and others reported several weeks back, Sytch was extradited from Monmouth County Corrections in Freehold, New Jersey, where she had been held since a 2/23 arrest in New Jersey and transferred back to the Carbon County Correctional Facility on 3/20.
As was reported by many outlets , a bench warrant was issued for Sytch's arrest in the State of Pennsylvania on 2/15.  That same day, the Carbon County Probation Department filed a motion to revoke Sytch's October 2018 parole.   NJ.com reported yesterday that Sytch also missed a scheduled drug test on 2/11, failed to report as directed to her parole officer in PA and failed to maintain a stable residence or report her whereabouts.  Sytch had been living in New Jersey.  Court records also indicate that while Sytch made restitution payments of $120 in the months of October and November 2018 as part of an agreed upon payment plan, she had not made any additional payments since that time.

Beyond her court hearing on 4/5, Sytch has another issue to deal with.  Her attorney, Matthew Glenn Schnell, filed a motion on 3/26 to withdraw as her counsel, which if approved, would mean Sytch would need to hire a new lawyer or use a court-appointed one.

Sytch's most recent arrest was Saturday 2/23 when she was pulled over at 6:30 PM on Dupont Avenue in Seaside Heights, NJ by authorities and arrested for driving while intoxicated, the sixth time since 2015 Sytch has been arrested for such an offense. On 2/23, Sytch was also given a summons for having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, for consumption of alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and careless driving.

Sytch was released by the Seaside Heights Police Department into the custody of the Holmdel Police Department as it was discovered that she had outstanding warrants in the jurisdictions of Holmdel, NJ Police Department for $1,500.00 and Knowlton, NJ Police Department for $1,000.00. Sytch has been charged with Contempt of court - Disobedience/Resistance of Court Command in relation to each of those warrants.  Sytch remained incarcerated in Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ until being transferred back to Pennsylvania on 3/20.

The transfer was the second time that Sytch was extradited to Carbon County from the Monmouth County Correctional Facility after a bench warrant was issued for her arrest for breaking the terms of her parole.  Sytch had been arrested in New Jersey last year for failing to appear in court for two DUI arrests.   While Sytch was being processed for multiple charges of Contempt - Disobedience/resistance in New Jersey, authorities learned that she was technically a fugitive from justice because a motion had been filed in August 2017 in PA requesting her February 2017 parole from the Carbon County in Pennsylvania be revoked.

Sytch's original Pennsylvania DUI charges in 2015 were a result of three separate incidents over that summer.

Lucha Underground Reportedly Settles With Talent, Given Immediate Releases

it was reported King Cuerno (aka El Hijo del Fantasma) had filed documents in Los Angeles against the El Rey Network and Lucha Underground's production Baba-G Productions, claiming his contract "illegally restricts" wrestlers from finding work in wrestling.
Along with that individual lawsuit, a class action lawsuit was possibly in the works including other stars, Ivelisse, Joey Ryan, and Thunder Rosa (aka Kobra Moon), who were looking to get out of their contracts with the stalled out promotion. Despite being between production of season four and five, wrestlers were still locked down to the promotion.
In a new report from Lucha Central, the El Rey Network and Baba-G Productions were sent three lawsuits. Two were from El Hijo del Fantasma and Texano Jr., both seeking financial damages. The third was indeed a class action lawsuit from Fantasma, Ivelisse, Ryan, and Rosa.
The report stated Texano Jr. withdrew his lawsuit and a settlement was agreed on for the class action lawsuit, as part of that Fantasma agreed to withdraw his personal lawsuit against the companies. Exact terms are not known, but those involved in the class action lawsuit are now released from their Lucha Underground contracts and are allowed to sign with other promotions.
Still no word yet on a season five taking place, Lucha Underground Co-Executive Producer, Chris DeJoseph, commented last month that he thought the show was "dead."

Tommy Dreamer Recalls Incident That Might Be Keeping King Kong Bundy Out Of The WWE Hall Of Fame

With WrestleMania being "The Show of Shows", Superstars who main event 'Mania are considered to be among the elite and have reached the peak of their profession. Thus, it comes as a surprise when anyone who once main evented a WrestleMania isn't in the WWE Hall of Fame à la King Kong Bundy who dueled with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania II.
Bundy died earlier this month so any call to the hall will be a posthumous one for him. Tommy Dreamer speculated why Bundy isn't in the WWE Hall of Fame and also talked about Bundy's time in ECW.
"King Kong Bundy was in the original ECW," stated Dreamer on his House of Hardcore Podcast. "I want to say the match was Terry Funk and King Kong Bundy vs. Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and Road Warrior Hawk. This was during Eastern Championship Wrestling but it was still ECW. The biggest stipulation going into that was King Kong Bundy had gone right to Paul Heyman, who I didn't really know that well at the time, and he said to Paul, 'Paul, no matter what you don't ever air this on television.'
"Paul gave him his word and that he won't air it. To Paul Heyman's credit, he never aired that match. If it wasn't that specific match it was a combination of all four of them, can't remember, but it wasn't a great match. The fact that Paul Heyman lived up to those stipulations up until WWE recently had released that footage...it was an ongoing joke between me, Taz and Bubba Ray Dudley and when we talk about Paul Heyman where we say, Paul Heyman is like Darth Vader. There is some good in him, we just have to draw it out of him."
It's unknown why Bundy didn't want the match aired, but it was likely due to ring rust from being away from wrestling for so long. After being released by WWE in 1988, Bundy went into semi-retirement before popping up for that ECW event in 1993.
As for Bundy not getting into the WWE Hall of Fame, Dreamer says a voice message-turned-email exchange from Bundy in 2005 might have sealed his fate.
"ECW goes out of business and this is when I am doing Talent Relations for WWE. This is when Randy Orton is doing the 'Legend Killer' gimmick and he is going into a feud with The Undertaker," said Dreamer. "For Atlanta, GA they wanted someone from The Undertaker's past to come and do something and show up, and Randy Orton to go out and do something with them. The person had to be a heel. We are all thinking, and Creative would shoot an email to Talent Relations asking if there were any suggestions. So, I am going through my Rolodex of ideas and I'm thinking of guys like Ted DiBiase, King Kong Bundy, Jimmy Snuka and I don't remember the rest. It came back and they thought that King Kong Bundy would be a great idea, do you have any information for him? I said that I could get it."
Dreamer then said that in these situations it often felt like everyone within WWE was waiting on him to deliver Bundy to creative which gave him a very pressurized job.
"I make the call and 15 minutes go by, 30 minutes by and you start getting a text wondering if I've heard anything. So, I got nothing," said Dreamer. "Then, I was like, well I can always reach out to Jimmy Snuka as well, and there are other people because there is a lot of politics.... I said that I can reach out to Jimmy Snuka and they said that we need a heel, so I was like, alright, thanks for heeling me.
"Now Johnny Ace is asking if I had heard anything and I was like, 'dude, I left him a message'. He asked if I have his cell phone number, and I said that I have one number and this is how I got him. I go home and the next day I come back to the office and I sit down and I see my phone voice mail is flashing, which it would always be flashing because I would always have these wrestling hopefuls hitting me up. I get the message from King Kong Bundy:
"'Hey Dreamer, it's Chris King Kong Bundy. How are you doing? Congratulations on the spot. Hey man, this is not on you, always been cool and friends with you so I need you to relay this message to WWE, especially to Vince McMahon. Number one, you need to tell him that he needs to pay me the money that he owes me. Number two, unless there is a creative idea for me winning the title I have no interest in it because he promised me the title when I put over Hulk Hogan and he never delivered so please go tell him to go f--k himself. Tommy, I love you, remember when I wanted to be your brother? Take care. I will see you later.'"
Dreamer says that he's not the most politically correct person, so he sent out an email to everyone in WWE Creative including Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, Michael Hayes, Stephanie McMahonand Johnny Ace simply stating that Bundy declined the offer. Then he got replies back asking what Bundy said, and Dreamer then replied back with exactly what Bundy told him.
"I said that he declined the offer because he wasn't too happy with the current climate of WWE," said Dreamer. "Then I got the same response: 'What did he say?' I was like, alright, so I said exactly what he said about he wants the money he was owed, and unless we have an idea to put the title on him and for Vince McMahon to go f--k himself.
"I want to say that within four minutes of sending that email here comes Johnny Ace as my boss, he is running down from the Talent Relations office, he's like, 'What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you send that?' I was like, what? They kept asking me. You are in the chain of emails. He's like, 'You just told Vince McMahon to go f--k himself!'
"I said that I did not tell Vince McMahon to go f--k himself, King Kong Bundy said to tell Vince McMahon to go f--k himself. Johnny said to me, 'What am I going to do with you?' That was money to what John would say to me or the other question he would ask is what is wrong with me. Look, when someone asks me a question, I have to do it, and the reply was from Chairman Vince McMahon, he replied back saying, 'Moving forward.'"
