Pro Wrestling ZERO1’s Genta Hiriki and Junya Matsunaga have tested positive for COVID-19.
As a result, Chris Vice, Hartley Jackson, Shoki Kitamura and Takumi Baba are among those who are now forced to undergo a two-week quarantine due to being in close contact with Hiriki and Matsunaga.
All six wrestlers will miss ZERO1’s show on June 11 in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, as well as Takafumi. Needless to say, missing seven wrestlers will cause significant changes to the card.
Only two matches have been announced for the show. Takafumi was scheduled to team with Ayato Yoshida and Shigehiro Irie against Fuminori Abe, Masato Tanaka and Shinjiro Otani. Vice was scheduled to team with Takuya Sugawara against Jackson and Tsugutaka Sato. Both matches will change.
The news should not affect the upcoming Fire Festival tournament as of right now. Neither Hiriki or Matsunaga are in the tournament and the first show is not until July 2.
Jackson confirmed he has been testing negative but will miss upcoming shows due to quarantine on Twitter.
