Kylie Rae Signs With Impact (And Now Has To Endure The Silliness Of Don Callis's Booking)

Kylie Rae has officially signed an Impact Wrestling contract.  We are told the signing took place a few weeks back and it should be announced on Impact Wrestling TV shortly.

And I can only imagine what kind of 'silliness' Don Callis is gonna come up for her since he.. Was the very one who said he was gonna get rid of the silliness that has plagued Impact. But.. Hasn't been able to do it because HE is now the one writing and booking the silliness. Which goes against everything he said he was going to do (Makes you go HHMMM on the fact he keeps dodging that fact).

Jim Cornette Reviews WWE Network's FCW Documentary

Over an hour long.. Pretty informative.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tCoKPjLRmY

Thoughts on "350 Days", Matt Hardy in AEW, Along With Recent Angles Done By USACW and AMW

I had finally gotten around to watching the movie "350 Days" which a friend of mine, Evan Ginzburg is an associate producer of. He's also associate producer of the movie "The Wrestler" and a documentary called "Wrestling Then And Now".

After seeing Evan plug "350 Days" like ten gazillion times all over Facebook and Twitter I went ahead and found it and watched it (I just re-watched some of it so I could do this review). And if you want the most honest examination of what it was like being on the road, working in the wrestling business, and the toll it takes on the body, family, etc.. This would be the movie to watch. I know a little bit about the driving for hours as I worked for acouple different indie companies in new England back in the 90's.. I was lucky to have the advantage of driving back home to where I lived in NH.. Like say, drive from Rochester, NH down to Lawrence, Massachusetts, back up to NH and the next day drive to Waterville, Maine, then back to NH again.. Or drive five hours from Rochester to Danbury, Ct. for a show, then drive an hour and a half south to old Saybrook to spend the night at a friend's home, and then do the five hour trip back to NH. I also know of a few indie wrestlers who drove up from Rhode island to Lewiston, Maine which is like a five hour trip one way, and if the show didn't sell well, they were lucky if they got gas money to make it back home to Rhode Island.

While that that's an example of what I did, it's nowhere near the level of what guys like Greg Valentine, Tito Santana and others featured in this movie did.. They didn't have the luxury I did and when you work for a major promotion that's on the road most of the year, the luxury of getting back to your home some days, is like a dream.. From the living in hotel rooms and after awhile I'm sure they all started to look the same. Promises promoters made that didn't always come thru and whatnot is what came with being part of 'that life'. Guy's and gals being away from their homes, their families, not seeing their kids grow up the way they wanted to, because the job, or the business, or the job of being in the business, demanded that you be here for this show, there for that show, or even these two places for these shows.. Not to mention wrestling hurt, trying to put on the same level of performance you did the night before and the night before that when you're running on acouple hours sleep that they may have gotten in a car, their bodies hurt from whatever injury or wrong bump they took the night before.. Many things go into account that many fans don't even realize.

Sometimes the only way a fan gets to hear these kinds of things is if they get a 'shoot interview' where the wrestler breaks his character and tells it like it is..
But for the mainstream fan who may not know about shoot interviews and want a really honest assessment of what the life of a professional wrestler is like? Then by all means check out "350 Days". It'll be the most truthful, coming from the very guys and gals who have lived it, that you'll ever get.. Very well done movie that tells it how it is and worth going out of your way to see.

Now that I started this on a high note? It all goes down hill from here.

Many many MANY fans had been looking forward to Matt Hardy coming to AEW.. I can honestly say, I wasn't one of them, and thanks to the bullshit I saw on AEW where he and Chris Jericho had a face to face confrontation? It validated every reason why, I wasn't one of them.

I covered this subject with a story located here. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/03/this-reminded-me-of-why-i-dont-watch.html But I'm gonna expand on it here.

I wasn't one of the million or so fans that got into the "Broken" Matt Hardy gimmick when it first started in TNA/Impact Wrestling. Hearing him say "Delete delete delete" two dozen times an interview or promo was an immediate turn off. Then add all the teleporting crap and any small chance of trying to 'suspend belief' was out the window. It didn't even rank good in the "so bad it's good" department in my opinion, and I would site this as an example of the 'silliness' that Don Callis claimed he was gonna get rid of when he took over as booker in Impact wrestling (Take note, Callis didn't get rid of it and actually ADDED to the silliness, something he refuses to explain every time I've tried to call him out on it).

So when I saw a glimpse of the 'Woken" Matt Hardy gimmick in WWE I just rolled my eyes. Because I knew if there was a company anywhere in  the world that could make a bad gimmick look worse? It was the WWE and they did a great job in doing just that, as they always do when they're handed something they didn't create themselves. So when Matt left WWE for AEW I knew we were gonna get more of this "Broken" bullshit, and lo and behold? Matt didn't disappoint.

I mean seriously, THIS, is the reason why he wanted to leave WWE so badly? To do a bad retread of something he started in TNA/Impact? THIS? is the so called 'creativity' he claimed he wanted to do in his last years as an in ring performer? THIS? As I stated in the story I posted a link to above, THIS, had me wanting to grab the remote to change the channel, or more truthfully, after seeing this I went on YouTube and watched some recent Wrestle-1 from Japan along with some older match from Resistance Wrestling, as that, was way better than seeing the third chapter of the Garbage "Broken" gimmick. First Vanguard-1 had me going "Oh God not again". Then I said "How long will it be before he does that teleporting shit again"? Needless to say it didn't take very long for that answer to come. And of course throw in the verbal back and forth he and Jericho had, and you'd swear it came right from the writers of bad creative in WWE. Hence why I said online that this reminded me of why I don't watch WWE anymore.

But yet this is the very same AEW that swore they were going to be the alternative to the WWE. As I said before in the other story, funny how some things stay the same when other companies do exactly what they claim they're gonna be an alternative to. To me this re-retread of the Broken gimmick is like trying to do the Four Horsemen with Paul Roma, Like the WWE trying to do ECW, and in this case, to me it wasn't all that great the first time and it sure as hell isn't intriguing this time around. If you wanted to give me a reason to not watch AEW? Matt Hardy doing this lame shit again gave me the reason. So thanks Matt.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And trust me, some Indie groups aren't gonna be spared either, as you're about to see.

Bert Prentice's USA Championship Wrestling, based in Tennessee that I see on YouTube every week, had this story line involving Bam Bam Bundy allegedly 'kidnapping' Kid Wrestling.. Something I covered here, https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2020/03/thought-and-ramble-on-usacw-and-david.html

The story I did on it was shown to several people at Prentice's USACW and I know I made it a point to let them know I wrote it.. I made it a point to do so because the logic in the angle/ story line was sorely lacking.. Basic booking 101 of a story line is you go from point a to point b to point c and so on.. And have some FUCKING LOGIC to it.. Click the link above and you'll read how 'out of nowhere' or 'miraculously', Kid Wrestling is no longer kidnapped. so does he call the cops and have Bundy arrested, like anyone else in the world would do? OOHH NNOO, no way, why would want to do that when it's just 'so much better' to when you get out of where you were kidnapped and held at, just go to where they're taping the show and..WRESTLE A MATCH!? yes of course, go do that because THAT, just makes so much more sense.

No.. I'm not making this up.. This is EXACTLY what happened and how they played this out.. Kid Wrestling comes to the studio and wrestles a match instead of talking about being kidnapped and having the cops there. As I said in the story above, whoever booked and wrote this angle out truly didn't think it all the way thru, needs to take a basic booking course or better yet.. Just don't attempt to book something this complex because it's obviously too much of a challenge for them to get it right.

After I wrote the above story and people in Prentice's company saw it, do you think they actually TRIED to fix it? Tried to add some logic to finish the story line out? If you're thinking yes? You're better off saying no.. Because they couldn't even do THAT right.

They're barely even mentioning it now.. Like they're trying to just drop it altogether and hope fans have such short attention spans that they'll simply forget what happened three weeks ago.. PPPSSSTT, YOO HOO. Guess what.. Fans didn't forget and you trying to in a way 'look away' and hope the whole catastrophe of your bad booking and story making magically goes away isn't working for you. if anything it's now made you look even worse and even more dumb.

They should just stick to the basic "wrestler chasing a title' story for now on, because anything more complex than that is too confusing for the powers that be there to get correct.. The proof is already there than anything beyond basic booking is way too difficult for whoever is booking Bert's USACW.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And Prentice's company isn't the only one doing lame ass story lines, we have THIS ahem... "Gem", for you as well.

Appalachian Mountain Wrestling(AMW) based in Kentucky, would you believe, is having... Get this.. "Impeachment proceedings" with one of their wrestlers/ now president John Noble and their former president Scott Diamond..

Yes, I did type 'Impeachment proceedings'.. This wasn't a typo. And if you don't believe me, you can see this silliness, and God awful angle that trust me, NOBODY is sitting on the edge of their seats for.. Right here with their latest show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6flA9QqHIV8 ..

To say that this isn't compelling TV would be a freaking understatement. Whoever thinks that THIS, was a great angle or story line to run should really keep their great ideas to themselves. Not even Vince Russo, or the creatively challenged Creative Department at WWE could come up something this bad (and lord knows WWE creative has a masters degree in bad to say the least). This company has a half hour TV show and the fact they spend most of it on this lame stuff is really amazing. This has been going on for the last couple weeks and while usually, AMW is one of the Indie groups I usually, look forward to watching the most.. THIS CRAP.. has me hitting fast forward with a quickness. The fact that whoever is in charge of booking thought this was a great angle really amazes me because it really, isn't.

Acouple weeks back when this silliness started I mentioned on AMW'S YouTube channel how this was some awful storytelling, two other people agreed with me, but yet.. When i went to go check the comments there two hours later? Wouldn't you know? "Comments have been turned off" was what in place of the discussion I had started. And wouldn't you know? Comments have been turned off on every since since then.. Makes you go, HHHMMM.

I guess they didn't want to hear what the fans had to say, and the fact they're insisting on persisting with this horrible angle to the very end shows they must be going with the Vince McMahon mentality of "We're gonna MAKE YOU like this", which never has worked, for McMahon or any other company that's tried that same kind of logic and mentality. or maybe they're trying the other McMahonism of they know what the fans want more than the fans do? LOL.I mean watch it yourself to see how horribly bad it is. See for yourself if this is the shits or not. You won't be alone in thinking it's crap like I did, believe me.

Needless to say, this and the angle USACW did ranks among some of the worst booking and/or storytelling I've seen in years. Just when I try and say that Indie groups do what the major federations won't do? Here's two Indie companies that have gone ahead and proved me wrong on that claim.

Thanks guys, keep up the rotten work.

Who is the true king of knockouts in MLW?

This week on MLW Fusion the world will find out as Low Ki fights King Mo in the main event.

A week after breaking a baseball bat across the back of Killer Kross and severely injuring the pit fighter, King Mo now looks to up the ante by defeating one of the most dominant forces in MLW history in Low Ki.

Over the last 12 months Low Ki KO’d 60% of his opponents.  King Mo has KO’d 62% of his opponents throughout his championship career in MMA.  What happens when King Mo collides with Low Ki? Find out on this week’s Fusion!

Will this mysterious new alliance between Team Filthy and American Top Team factor into this match?

Low Ki isn’t taking any risks and will have Ross Von Erich in his corner to keep Dan Lambert in check and hopefully Team Filthy at bay.

Alicia Atout will have an exclusive interview with Brian Pillman Jr. before his much anticipated first bout against a member of Injustice.

Mat Memory- Jerry Lawler vs. AWA World champion Nick Bockwinkel 10/18/82. Memphis

With a shot at NWA World champion Ric Flair on the line, the King attempts to dethrone AWA World champion Nick Bockwinkel for the AWA Southern title, which Nick won following his loss of the World strap to Otto Wanz (a man whose name just rolls off the lips of the late, great Lance Russell). Highlight include Lawler pulling out a rare Boston Crab (not a literal crab, though in Memphis, you never know), much to the delight of Russell, and the brilliant portrayal of Nick as a tough World champion instead of how lame Flair was often booked.

FORMER WASHINGTON PROMOTER DEAN SILVERSTONE PASSES AWAY

Dean Silverstone, a former promoter in the state of Washington who was the Treasurer and head of business as the Treasurer for the Cauliflower Alley Club, passed away on Thursday at the age of 75.

Brian Blair and the CAC confirmed the passing. Silverstone was a key figure when it comes to the 60s and 70s in pro wrestling, as much for his work historically. For years, he hosted the Northwest Wrestling reunion at his home, where former territory stars from all over the country returned. He was a neighbor of Ichiro Suzuki, who one year was enamored by the idea that Dick Beyer, The Destroyer, was vacationing near him.

In real life, Silverstone ran the Golden Oldies! record chain in the Northwest from 1975, after he stopped promoting pro wrestling, until 2017, when he retired. He attributed all his success in his other business to the business lessons he learned promoting pro wrestling. He also wrote perhaps the best book ever on small territory pro wrestling, "I Ain't No Pig Farmer!" about his life and career in wrestling, particularly the ups and down of the five years he ran a regional promotion.

Silverstone was friends with the late journalist/radio host and pro wrestling historian J. Michael Kenyon, meeting at pro wrestling shows when they were teenagers. While the two took different paths in life, they remained friends and both were avid students of the history of wrestling.

In 1959, at the age of 15, he went to work for Harry Elliott, the regional wrestling promoter in the area, doing publicity and programs. Silverstone pioneered the concept Tony Khan uses on Dynamite of having legitimate win-loss records for the talent like if it was boxing or MMA in the programs. By the time he was 19, he was promoting spot shows and working as a referee.

After Elliott retired in 1968, Silverstone continued working for Vancouver promoters Gene Kiniski and Sandor Kovacs, as they bought rights to the territory. After a split with them in 1969 feeling they weren't running Washington effectively, he started his own promotion which ran in Washington and Idaho. His book detailed his issues with the power brokers in wrestling because he was not an NWA member, and both Kiniski and Don Owen felt he was infringing on their territories, even though they weren't running there at the time.

Silverstone used mainly talent from Mobile, Alabama as he liked how that territory ran, so he contacted Lee Fields, who ran the promotion, and booked eight wrestlers from the territory as well as used wrestlers living locally.

He ran shows for several years with mixed success. At one time his television show at 6 p.m. on Saturday in Yakima was doing 90 shares, which is unfathomable. He syndicated television around the state and ran, using a crew that would be threatened by the establishment for working for him, and running into all kinds of unforeseen problems.

In 1975, he decided to get out of wrestling and open up his record store in Seattle. He was far more successful in that business, and at one time owned 11 record stores throughout the state.

Silverstone and his wife Ruth were friends to all the wrestlers of that era who would attend his annual reunions. He handled all business for the CAC as well, and his loss would have to be considered devastating to that club.

AAAHHH-HAHAHAHA! Scott Dawson Uploads Match Video To YouTube And Receives Copyright Claim By WWE

You can't make this kind of bullshit up. And only the WWE, would this fucking petty. Yet another bitch move by the WWE.

WWE SmackDown Superstar Scott Dawson of The Revival has recently shared a few videos of matches from his collection, to help fans get through tough times during the coronavirus pandemic.

Dawson has been uploading the videos to his personal YouTube channel, but one video almost instantly received a copyright claim from WWE. This was not confirmed but it's very possible that WWE didn't actually order the copyright claim, but that the video was automatically flagged by YouTube's software. This has happened to a few WWE talents in the past.

Back on March 19 Dawson shared a 2 of 3 Falls match between The Revival and American Alpha at an old WWE NXT live event in Poughkeepsie, NY... Today Dawson uploaded a video from The Revival vs. The Undisputed Era, at a NXT live event in San Antonio, Texas. That is the video that was almost instantly blocked.

The video now has a message that reads like this: "Video unavailable. This video contains content from WWE, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."

Dawson responded after the copyright claim was issued and wrote, "Sorry guys. I tried."

TEDDY HART CHARGED WITH STRANGULATION RESULTING IN BODILY HARM

Edward "Teddy Hart" Annis was arraigned this morning on charges of strangulation resulting in wounding/bodily harm this morning in Richmond, Virginia following his arrest on Thursday 3/26.

The victim in the case has been named publicly as Ring of Honor star Maria Manic, who Hart had been dating off and on for several months.  Prior to Hart being arrested yesterday, Virginia-based independent wrestler Ace Montana posted a video on his Facebook page where he exits a house, telling someone (believed to be Manic) to lock the door behind him.  After exiting the house, he confronts Hart, warning him that the police have been called and that "she would be pressing charges" while threatening Hart that he needed to leave.   In the video, Hart denied ever touching Manic before heeding Montana's orders and leaving the immediate premises.

Montana wrote the following blurb for the video: "I literally had to pull my gun on #Teddyhart ?? and throw him out of my friends house?. This piece of sh** literally choked out and physically assaulted Maria Manic and would not let her get help. she texted me I’m in danger never ever did I think I would meet a piece of sh** like this guy who has now been arrested with a felony against him. I don’t think this guy knew how close to death he was. #f***youteddyheart This video is me kick[ing] him out before the cops came and arrested him???."

Here's the video.. https://www.facebook.com/1188732100/videos/10221095196428077/

Hart is currently being held without bail at Richmond City Jail and is scheduled for a hearing on 4/22 at 2:15 PM.

Under Virginia law, strangulation is considered a class six felony.  Should Annis be convicted, he could be looking at 1-5 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,500.

Manic has not commented publicly on the situation.

Yesterday's arrest is the third for Hart in the State over Virginia over the last six weeks.

Arn Anderson Talks WWE Burying Sting In His WrestleMania Match With Triple H

WrestleMania 31 was home to the long anticipated WWE debut of Sting, who faced Triple H in a match that became WWE vs. WCW. The match ended up being a disappointment for most and featured NWO vs. DX with Triple H pinning Sting in his WWE debut.

When asked about Sting and his debut at WrestleMania 31, Arn Anderson noted that Sting's WWE debut came way too late.

"Well, I thought it was 15 years too late," Anderson said. "I'm the guy who thinks Undertaker should still be riding the wave of his undefeated streak. You only get one crack at some stuff and Sting being the last hold out would've been nice if Sting would've came across when WCW was done and be pushed like the star that he was."

"It was meant to beat you over the head with: 'We are WWE, we won the war. Here's your big star, well he ain't a big star here tonight.'

During the match, DX came out to help out Triple H while the NWO assisted Sting. This was strange too many people because for anyone who knew anything about WCW, the NWO's biggest rival was Sting during their peak.

Anderson talked about the awkward move to bring out these two factions and how funny it was to notice all the guys involved had more of a connection to Triple H than Sting.

"Everyone on both run ins had a relationship with Hunter in some capacity," Anderson said. "Sting is the only WCW guy, his biggest nemesis the entire look of the show for however long was Sting vs. The NWO. Why would they come down on his behalf?"

Talking about the decision to pin Sting clean in his long awaited WWE debut has been a topic of discussion since the moment WWE made this decision. Anderson talked about WWE's move to pin Sting clean in his debut.

"If you decide you aren't using Sting in any other capacity, Hunter is going to be there, you know that next year and the year after that," Anderson said. "Okay, you go Hunter's way, Hunter is going to win the match. That's what it is if you're not going to use Sting anymore. But if you want to get that Sting - Undertaker match and you want to get another match out of him and possibly get several television appearances out of him, what would be wrong with putting Sting over with his finish?"

After the match, Sting and Triple H would shake hands. This also confused Anderson because the finish of the match involved Triple H using a sledgehammer to Sting's head. Anderson also talked about whose idea the match was and noted that Triple H could never override Vince when it comes to the decisions on a match.

"After all that bullsh**, run in, abuse, hit me in the face with a sledgehammer, I'm just going to shake your hand and walk out," Anderson said. "It's another one of those deals with WWE beating you over the head with 'This is a work, guys it's just entertainment, it doesn't mean s--t, match is over now, we'll go back to being just entertainers.' I don't think the audience needs that, I don't think they want it.

"I know that Hunter will never be able to override Vince's idea no matter how good his is that he has," Anderson stated. "If Vince has an idea, the harder you push against him, the harder he pushes back and he just happens to have a lot more weight behind his push. Why would you kick out of Shawn Michaels superkick on top of Triple H's pedigree and all the other finishes you piled and piled on top of each other? You're not building anybody, you're killing everything off."

"I don't understand why guys of this era don't understand your finish is the one thing you should have sacred. Once you hit your finish on the guy, he's beat, that's why it's your finish. If you didn't have confidence in it, because it didn't have a proven record, why is it the move that you chose to win the match? It's real simple, go with what your best stuff is to try and win a match. Hunter got out of Sting's finish, Sting got out of however many finishes and after getting hit in the face with a sledgehammer, he was up a minute later shaking the guys hand. It just s--ts on everything."

The idea of WCW vs. WWE was something that was sold during the match. The commentary team continuously put that over while putting over the WWE guy and burying the WCW star. Anderson talked about the continuous comments regarding Sting not being able to live up to the hype in this moment and how they buried Sting repeatedly.

"I'm sure they were being fed that," Anderson said. "To just go on and on and on and on putting Triple H over and dumping on Sting and the comparison being this guy's a pro and you're sandlot, you're little league, this guys an all pro in the NFL and you're on peewee league. That was the premise of it all. Other than building the match, as the match was building, it was like tunnel vision. 'Okay dip s--t, we finally got you on board now we're going to just bury you,' and that's pretty much what happened. The comparisons were just brutal, and they weren't doing anything to build the character of Sting and I've never been a fan of that. You don't say old, you don't say too small, you don't say fat, find something in your opponent that makes him special, so when he beats you, he really beats you. Otherwise, a little guy beats you or an old guy beats you or a fat guy beats you, it's just common sense."

"The reality is this: It was the last nail that Vince could nail into the coffin and say okay it's done, we're the superior company. They said they were going to put us out of business, they led for all those weeks but in the end, here's your last remaining guy and he was your biggest star and we just crushed him before your very eyes at the biggest event of the year. It is now officially done. It's like WCW never existed now, that's what would've been going through his mind. It's the last vestige of WCW and we just squashed him."

Here We Go Again-- Teddy Hart Arrested Again Today (Updated w/ Video)

Teddy Hart was arrested again in Richmond, Virginia. which would be Hart's third arrest this year.

Hart was arrested last month on February 12th in Richmond, Virginia. The 40-year old was booked on three charges of possession, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and distribute. In a now-deleted video, Hart said that he was pulled over by police due to an issue with his license plate not matching the registration for the car he was driving in. Hart said that he was arrested after the police found steroids and marijuana in the car.

Hart was arrested again earlier this month on March 4th for violating his house arrest.

Hart has had his share of legal issues throughout the years. He was arrested in December of 2014 by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on multiple sexual assault charges involving two women, which were dropped in June of 2016. He was most recently arrested on January 1, 2017 after attempting to evade arrest after being pulled over for a hazardous traffic violation in Arlington, Texas. Those charges were also eventually dropped.

The 40-year old Hart was at the home of indie performer Ace Montana earlier today. Montana claims that Hart physically assaulted Maria Manic. Montana alleges that he then pulled a gun at Hart. Montana posted the video below of Hart leaving the scene, with Hart denying that he assaulted Manic.

"I literally had to pull my gun on #Teddyhart ?? and throw him out of my friends house," Montana wrote on Facebook. "This piece of s--t literally choked out and physically assaulted Maria Manic and would not let her get help. she texted me I'm in danger never ever did I think I would meet a piece of s--t like this guy who has now been arrested with a felony against him. This Reminded me Of Why I Don't Watch WWE (LOL) MATT HARDY AND CHRIS JERICHO COME FACE TO FACE

Here's the video for anyone who missed it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCu0-YEu0PU

Had I saw this live? I would've grabbed the remote and changed the channel.. And no, not to go watch NXT either.. To watch anything else.. Or I would've went to watch some decent indie stuff on YouTube.. This felt so much like something straight out of the WWE creative department.. It gave me the very same headache I get when I watch WWE programming..

But yet this is the very same AEW that claimed they were gonna be the alternative to WWE.. Watching this crap I fail to see where the alternative is. And this isn't the first time they've taken shit straight out of the WWE programming book either. I pointed that out in this story right here. https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2019/10/aew-claims-it-wants-to-be-different.html

Some things change some things stay the same, like AEW claiming to be different than WWE but doing the exact same shit, WWE does. Makes you go, HHMMM.

Chris Jericho Recalls Idea He Pitched To Vince McMahon And How It Was Quickly Changed

In late 2018, Vince McMahon and his family came out on an episode of Raw promising "fresh ideas" and saying that the fans "were The Authority". Matt Hardy, who made his AEW debut on the latest episode of Dynamite, was on the latest episode of Talk Is Jericho and talked about a segment that he had pitched in response to The Authority segment.

"One that I thought was great was I pitched an idea to be off TV for a while and then start broadcasting vignettes from the Hardy Compound as Broken Matt, and you don't know what's happened. I had a backstory to get there, but I just said I want a meeting with The Authority with Vince or Triple H or whatever," Hardy said. "And this was after they came out in the end of 2018 I think, and they said we're going to listen to the fans. We're going to give them what they want. We haven't been listening to you. We're going to change our ways whatever.

"I want to speak with these guys, and they won't meet with me. And then like I start showing up and attack people backstage or production assistants, whatever it may be, and then eventually I get a meeting with Vince or Triple H or someone in The Authority in the ring. 'What do you want? You want to get fired? Do you want us to release you? What do you want? Why are you out here?' No, I don't want any of those things. I want to save the show because this is my home, and I love it here and you guys said in December of 2018 you're gonna start listening the fans and I don't think you have. I want to."

Hardy went into further detail about this segment. He had planned on calling it "The Broken Block" and planned on using wrestlers that were not being utilized and give them a showcase for a segment on Raw. However, he said he did not hear anything back about the idea.

"What I pitched [was] give me 10 to 15 minutes of the show, and I want to call it 'The Broken Block'. My idea was give me underutilized guys like Chad Gable and Ali and Apollo, guys that aren't being utilized at all. Let me put them on that show. Let them do badass things. Let me put some vignettes from the Hardy compound and House Hardy and just give me like 10 to 15 minutes, and I'll call it 'The Broken Block' every show and just see how it does," Hardy said. "These guys have matches in the arena. I'm almost like the commissioner or like I'm heading up this broken block, and we try to give Ali and Chad Gable a best-of-seven. Cut them loose. Let them have great matches. They'll become stars on their own just because of the quality of their matches, and then will interject a little Vanguard 1 and we'll have some of the you know House Hardy on it. 'The Broken Block'. 10 to 15 minutes that's all I was asking for. Never heard anything about it."

Hardy's idea reminded Chris Jericho of The Highlight Heel. He said that The Highlight Reel was also meant to put a spotlight on under-utilized wrestlers and make them into stars. However, Vince McMahon had other ideas for Jericho's show.

"It's funny as the original Highlight Reel, I pitched it as 'Jericho's Junction' because I was watching a bunch of Mean Gene Okerlund interviews and myself included," Jericho said. "When I first started doing interviews, he was the Jedi. If you didn't know what you were doing, Gene would lead you through the interview and make you look like a star, and I said, why don't we do Jericho's Junction where every week like a Piper's Pit, we bring out underutilized stars whoever they were at the time. I'll lead the interview. We'll get the people over. We'll get them to do interviews and connect with the crowd.

"Vince is like, 'I love it', and your first guest is Goldberg. I'm like, well Goldberg is not really the guy. I'm thinking more like Bull Buchanan. Nope Goldberg. Next week Scott Steiner. The next week, it's Rock. I'm like the whole concept of what I had is gone, and now it's just another talk show which is fine. That's great. But the original plan was much like you just like let's give some of these underutilized guys guys a spotlight where somebody like me or you knows how to bring them along."

Hardy talked about many times that money was not a big issue for him. He told Jericho that being world champion was not a priority for him. His goal was to help contribute to WWE and help other wrestlers while also getting his character over.

"I don't want to be the world champion. You don't need to keep me strong and TV. Let me contribute to the show in a productive way," Hardy said. "I said I can help out guys, and I can get my own character over by my utilization with these guys. I just never heard anything like about it."

Wade Barrett Says He Told WWE "I F--king Hate It Here" When They Tried To Keep Him

On the Art of Wrestling with Colt Cabana, Stu Bennett, f.k.a. Wade Barrett, knew that his journey with the WWE was going to come to an end with the WWE back in 2016, after sliding towards the mid to lower card. He recalls that time in his life challenging, but also inspiring since it helped him move towards better opportunities like NWA this past December.

"I left [the WWE] around April or May of 2016," Bennett recalled. "I told them that my contract was coming up, and I told them that I wasn't re-signing. They tried to make a couple of offers, and I told them 'It doesn't matter what you offer me, I need to leave. I f--king hate it here.' I loved my job until, probably, the end of 2014, beginning of 2015. I did some exciting things and some not so exciting things...I thought if I kept improving my physique, and I got ripped, that'll convince them. Maybe, I need a catchphrase. Maybe, I need a t-shirt that'll be a big sell. Maybe, I need to do more with my in-ring skills. There was always something in my head like I can improve this and I can improve that.

"By the time I got to 2015, I was sliding down the card. I was getting opportunities that I thought were kind of wasted. Like, I became the King of the Ring, which sounds like it should be impressive, but what it was followed up with was zero rises. It was like 'What are we going to do with these guys today? Ah, just have them wrestle for three minutes, and have this guy [Stu] go over...' Suddenly, after putting in all that effort, I had to climb up the card and get to where I wanted to be. It wasn't rewarding, to say the least. It was a realization that it didn't matter what I was doing there, I'm just waiting for one man to give me the thumbs up or thumbs down. I'm spending my whole career waiting and hoping that I get a thumbs up.".

Bennett mentioned that it took him a solid year to go back to having a normal day-to-day schedule, after the constant traveling he did in the WWE.

"I was really down [after leaving the WWE]. It's hard going from 280 days [on the road], to being off, which you're not really off because you're doing phone calls, getting your gear made, you're constantly in wrestling mode," Bennett noted. "Being someone who was recognized at the shop for being on TV two days a week, to being home all alone, it's a big period of decompression. Especially, when, it's like 'Oh man, it's Monday [for example],' then you go 'Oh wait, I don't work there anymore.'

"Then, there were things throughout the year that would occasionally come up, and I thought 'Ok, I got it out of my system now.' Then suddenly, it would be like WrestleMania season, and everybody is sending pictures from WrestleMania. Then, I'd be thinking, 'Man, I should be at WrestleMania. No, no, I'm not there anymore.' It took me a long time, probably a year to get all of that out of my system."

One thing that Bennett did appreciate the WWE for was their generosity, in terms of how much they paid him. Whether it was towards his in-ring career, to the movie roles he did through WWE Studios (Eliminators), or his character being used in the WWE 2K video game series, he made sure to conclude his interview by saying how fortunate he was for the paychecks he received there.

"I thought they made a mistake when they sent me my first video game check," Bennett informed. "The money they were paying back then, is less than they're paying them now. But back then, it was crazy money. Like, I thought they genuinely made a mistake, and I didn't know what to do. But, when you start getting these checks, and you've had nothing, ever, and you're struggling... getting these checks was a big deal."

Samoa Joe's Suspension Has Ended

As of today, Samoa Joe's WWE Wellness Policy suspension has passed and he would once again be available for WWE once he is written back into company storylines.

that means it's possible he could appear in some form at Wrestlemania 36 when it is taped this week and broadcast on 4/5 and 4/6.
