Tajiri Will Defend The MLW Middleweight Title In AJPW
Major League Wrestling announced World Middleweight Champion Yoshihiro Tajiri will be defending the title in All Japan Pro Wrestling.
His first title defense will be against Atsuki Aoyagi and will be on November 28.
Tajiri captured the MLW World Middleweight Championship in his debut match at MLW Fightland.
MLW CEO Court Bauer hinted at the match a few days earlier on social media.
Bauer tweeted, I am very impressed by @atsuki_aoyagi of @alljapan_pw. What if… All Japan hosted @TajiriBuzzsaw defending the @MLW World Middleweight Championship against Atsuki Aoyagi? I expect it would be a great battle.”
Tajiri vs. Atsuki Aoyagi will be the first MLW World Championship defense in an All Japan Pro Wrestling ring since 2003.

Inside The Ropes reported in March of this year that Bailey's ban was soon set to expire.
Bailey, 31, has remained active internationally while unable to wrestle in the United States, though he wrestled just five times between April 2020 and July 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mickie James Busted Open Radio Interview
New Impact Knockout’s Champion Mickie James joined Busted Open Radio to talk about her title victory over Deonna Purrazzo at Bound for Glory this past Saturday night. It’s James’ first title victory in eight years and she couldn’t hide the fact that she’s on cloud nine.
“It feels so good,” James said. “Honestly, I didn’t think it would matter as much to me as it did in that sense, because I have been a champion several times and I’ve had such a tenured career. We’re always, we go ‘oh I don’t need the championship. I’ve done so much.’ There was nothing sweeter than winning the championship. I haven’t won a championship in eight years. My last championship as actually, the championship at Impact that I lost against ODB. So when I think about that, I’m going ‘wow, it’s kind of a long time.’ I’ve done a lot, but not really for me, you know what I mean? It was a great moment, it was a really, really great moment. It was powerful, and it felt good. It felt good.”
James called the victory a special one, and also praised Purrazzo as one of the best workers she’s ever competed against. She said many, including herself, questioned whether she could hang with Purrazzo in a match like this and she proved that she could.
“It was so special. It really, really was so special,” James said. “That’s kind of what I meant. In those last eight years and all the things that I have done, and I’ve done some really cool stuff. But for the most part, it was for everybody else. I didn’t really do anything for myself. That was a choice, and I was so happy to be back where I was. There’s just so much more layers to it now. How I left and all the things, but then I did EmPowerrr. I was able to head up EmPowerrr and that was really cool. And then to come back and have a chance at having a championship again and I go ‘actually, this is a real chance to actually have a shot at the championship again.’ Then Saturday was beautiful. The people were behind me and to have that real love behind me, for them to be on fire and with it all night. To have a ‘this is awesome!’ chant.
“And there’s no doubt that Deonna is probably one of the best wrestlers I’ve ever been in the ring with. Not just today, but legit that I’ve ever been in the ring with. She is incredible. She is incredible out there. I knew I was going to be up for a fight, and I think that has been the major question from the audience, from whoever. ‘Mickie is amazing and a legend, but can she really hang with someone like Deonna?’ The answer is yes, I can hang with someone like Deonna, because there wouldn’t be a Deonna without Mickie James. That’s the reality. And not just me, and I don’t just put myself. But I can still go. I never stopped going. What happened was I just became less selfish and started doing more for other people than for myself. And this one wasn’t a selfish move, but it felt good. It felt good to win again and to remind myself that I can win and it’s okay to be awesome. And I don’t have to apologize for it.”
James was asked if she felt like she had to go back to Impact to get the proper credit she feels she deserved. She confirmed that to a degree, but also pointed out the great work she had done for NWA recently, especially when it came to putting together the EmPowerrr event in August.
“Yes and no,” James said. “I mean obviously I’m doing some really great stuff at NWA as well. Someone sent something to me where it was 19 years ago when I was first at Impact, and you see me with the hands in the air. It’s very much Mickie James’ face, but it’s the stuff with Raven and The Flock at the time. But obviously I went to WWE and that was my dream to go there. And I was able to have an illustrious career that first run and do some really good things. My first run was awesome. Even the second run (was), but I feel like this last run was not what I guess I expected or hoped for. Maybe it’s because I didn’t fight enough for it, but I hoped that I did enough for everybody else I’d at least get that love. And I didn’t, and that’s okay because kudos to Impact. It was cool they would welcome me back, it was cool that I was given the platform to put together EmPowerrr at NWA.
“Here I thought ‘I’m going to have this amazing run. I’m so excited to go back to WWE. I’m going to have this amazing run, work with these awesome new girls, get in front of this new audience, and probably retire back home.’ That’s what I felt. ‘I’m going to retire there in a very cool way.’ And it did not happen that way, because for whatever reason it just didn’t happen that way. And I left and it was so disheartening and I was broken hearted. So then to be able to leave and do so much more powerful stuff, that actually is stronger work. It’s more powerful work, because it’s laying that foundation behind the scenes of setting up for the future and different levels for the women.”
In the end, James was thrilled to go back to Impact, win the Knockouts Championship and feel like she was worthy of doing so. She talked about being humbled for so long that she forgot how good she was, until this last run reminded her.
“To then be able to go back to Impact and get the love from the fans and to hear ‘Hardcore Country again’, which I really wanted to do,” James said. “The fans, they love that song. They love that song. I was going to do Grown Ass Woman. I was like ‘maybe I’ll do ‘Grown Ass Woman’ or maybe do a new song.’ I’m like ‘no, they love ‘Hardcore Country.’ And it’s cool.’ And then to have a shot at the championship and be treated like ‘you deserve to be champion and you deserve to be because you’re a bad ass.’
“We forget because we’re so humbled. We’re told to be humbled for so long that we’re humbled. So we don’t always see it. We don’t always see what other people see, because we’re still trying to prove something. We’re always trying to prove ourselves or comparing ourselves or whatever the case may be. And we forget sometimes, and it’s nice to be gently reminded again. And they (Impact) have done a lot of that for me, and NWA’s done a lot of that for me. So I’m really grateful sitting on the other side now. When it first happened I was very upset. But now, sitting here in this seat with the shiny new championship, it’s a whole new version of the Impact Knockout’s World Championship? It wasn’t something I had in mind, but I’m not going to turn down a chance to do that again. Plus I can round it up and I finally made double digits (title reigns)!”
Shane Taylor On Ring Of Honor's Hiatus: “Not Shocking”
Ring of Honor’s Shane Taylor sat down with Wrestling Headlines to talk about Ring of Honor releasing its contracted talent by the end of 2021, as it prepares for a reboot in April of 2022. Taylor said the news was both surprising and disappointing, given the strides he feels ROH has made in the last year and a half.
“I mean, it’s surprising,” Taylor said. “It’s not something that if you were paying attention that you didn’t foresee maybe being an option or being a potential thing. So it’s not shocking, it’s disappointing, because of how hard the talent has been working. For the last 18 months or so, there’s been no roster that’s consistently put on the performances that we have. And what’s really disappointing is I felt like we were kind of turning a corner. It’s just one of those things where you’ve made this big comeback in the game, you just didn’t have enough time. I mean, and that’s the feeling that I get all the time, time just ran out, you know what I mean?
“The talent has been absolutely incredible. So I tip my hat to every man and woman there who have been busting their ass and spending time away from their families and putting their bodies to hell. For Ring of Honor, and for what we have, and the passion that we had for that place. So we’ve got this taping coming up this week. And then we’ve got Final Battle. And I’m sure everybody’s gonna go out there and absolutely, leave it all on the line one last time.”
So what will be the next move for Taylor? He says that everything is on the table now, as long as it involves the rest of Shane Taylor Enterprises, which includes Kaun, Moses and O’Shay Edwards. Taylor, Kaun and Moses are the current Ring of Honor Six Man Tag Team Champions.
“Everything’s an option right now,” Taylor said. “I’ve already had different places reach out. So everything is an option right now. I think what me and the guys are going to do and, again, the the idea and the goal is to keep all of us together. Because I feel like we were just sort of scratching the surface of what we could be in ROH. I still feel like there was so much more left to do there. But obviously we’re going to have to continue that work elsewhere. So the goal will be to bring this whole thing to, you know, as one unit as a package deal.
“And bring it to a place that isn’t afraid of pushing the lines, being able to be real and be controversial at times, but know that it’s all towards the greater good. So anywhere where they can say ‘hey, you know what? We trust you guys to be who you are and take us where we need to go.’ You know that’s probably going to be where we end up, but there’s a lot of places now that could use talent that is ready to step into a main event. Especially African American talent. So we’re excited about the possibilities of working with everybody.”

WRESTLE-1 - Koji Kanemoto & Minoru Tanaka ~vs~ Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards
The TNA World Tag Team Championships are on the line in this dream tag team match between TNA's The Wolves and WRESTLE-'s Junior Stars. Kanemoto & Tanaka had defeated Team 246 (Kaz Hayashi & Shuji Kondo) in the previous month to claim the No.1 contendership for the title. At WRESTLE-1's last big event earlier in the year The Wolves lost the belts and Team 246 failed to capture them as The Bromans won the gold in a 3-way TNA Tag Team Championship match, since then Richards & Edwards have regained the titles back in America and have returned to Japan, once again to put it all on the line for a second time in WRESTLE-1, hoping for a better result this time in a more direct 2-on-2 bout. - 2014.7.6

Mance Warner Has FINALLY Got His Release From MLW (Too Bad MLW Didn't Have The Guts To Do it Earlier)
Mance Warner has become the latest talent to leave MLW. ONLY because MLW has FINALLY decided, to do the right thing and release him.
MLW wasn't doing anything to get him over or to be successful anyway, and that's been a known fact for a while now.
Warner has been released by MLW, according to multiple reports. SE Scoops had the news first. Warner had stated in interviews as far back as December 2020 that he was looking to leave MLW, but MLW's Court Bauer refused to release him, and to this day has yet to explain why. A story I covered, here... https://billsbrandnewblog.blogspot.com/2021/10/mance-warner-to-become-free-agent-soon.html
If you're not properly using a guy, or even TRYING to get him in the company you hired him to work in, then why the fuck are you holding him for? DDUUHH.
But that's the logic and mentality apparently of MLW's Court Bauer.
Warner in the mean time has not appeared in a match for the promotion since the April 11, 2020 episode of MLW Fusion, taped in Mexico in March 2020.
Warner, 33, joins Jordan Oliver, Beastman, Bu Ku Dao and Leo Brien as names leaving MLW this week. MLW has yet to comment on the releases, but a PW Insider report speculates that CEO Court Bauer's desire to run shorter TV tapings with less talent is a potential reason for the cuts.
Warner originally debuted for MLW in 2019, defeating Wheeler Yuta in his debut match for the company. In addition to his MLW run, Warner is likely best known for his work with GCW. He appeared on last weekend's GCW War Ready event, dropping the GCW Tag titles to The Briscoes with partner Matthew Justice.
So now that Warner is a free agent, hopefully someone will use Warner better and show MLW how dumb they were for letting him sit there with MLW hiding behind the "We have nothing for you" excuse.

The "Forbidden Door" Has Apparently Been Closed When It Comes To Impact Wrestling
The working relationship between AEW and Impact Wrestling is reportedly over.
AEW’s “Forbidden Door” to Impact began last December as AEW World Champion Kenny Omega began appearing on Impact TV, but as previously reported, the relationship ended and the 'Forbidden Door' appears to be shut as of last Saturday’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view, according to various wrestling news personnel.
Bound For Glory saw AEW star Christian Cage drop the Impact World Title to Josh Alexander, who immediately lost the strap to Moose, who was cashing in his “Call Your Shot Gauntlet” opportunity. There will be no rematch for Cage, and there’s no talk of anyone in AEW challenging Moose.
A source in Impact told certain wrestling news sites (including this one) that the original report "possibly", may not be 100% accurate as Cage dropping the World Title at Bound For Glory was the end of the story that began last December. This was said to be the plan since the spring. It was noted that the door is open for the two companies to do more together, but nothing is planned for the short-term as of now. Plus Impact was recently working with Billy Corgan's National Wrestling Alliance as well as New Japan Pro Wrestling, so it's not like Impact doesn't have, other options.
Cage did not work this week’s Impact TV tapings in Las Vegas, and Impact World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers have not been used on AEW TV for several weeks. As for Don Callis, while his on screen absence has been considered a 'blessing' by many wrestling fans, he is still under contract with AEW and rumors in the AEW Locker room is, he will be back soon as Kenny Omega’s manager.
It's been noted earlier this month how AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker and former Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, who just dropped the title to Mickie James at the pay-per-view, had approached company officials on both sides to pitch ideas for a feud, and also for a tag team with the two linking up.
There is no word on if AEW and Impact officials are considering more plans for the future, and if they don't.. As I said Impact has other options and doesn't really NEED, AEW's so called "forbidden Door"

NJPW Said "No Way Jose'" To Will Ospreay On Working With MLW In Mexico Due To AAA
New Japan Pro Wrestling prevented Will Ospreay from working with MLW on a Mexico tour. The main sticking point was if AAA talent would be working on the tour as well. Konnan is a relative mainstay in MLW, and Konnan is the main booker of AAA. NJPW currently maintain their working relationship with CMLL, who are rivals of AAA in Mexico. So NJPOW higher ups told Ospreay "No Way Jose" when he said he wanted to work for MLW in Mexico.
This been reported by several well placed sources and was brought up as well by Dave Meltzer (for whatever his opinion is worth these days) during a discussion of Ring of Honor’s hiatus. Full information on ROH’s situation can be found by clicking here. The current effect the news has is that ROH talent are now free to take bookings from anywhere in the wrestling world.
ROH World Champion Bandido has expressed a desire to work with NJPW again. However, AAA will want Bandido in their promotion as well. Due to NJPW not willing to work with AAA, in order to maintain ties with CMLL, it is unlikely that Bandido can work for both promotions.
Bandido has competed for the AAA Mega Championship and the AAA World Tag Team Titles in 2018, and in 2019, Bandido was in the Best of the Super Juniors, and he challenged for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title at Madison Square Garden.
Dragon Lee also competed in that match, and Lee will be working in AAA along with most likely various other U.S. indie promotions. Lee is an exception for NJPW because he is under contract with them. Lee is a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and will likely make his NJPW sometime in the future. Lee is currently teaming with his brother DralÃstico in AAA.
Ring of Honor's Tape Library Is For Sale
The Ring of Honor tape library is for sale.
As it's been reported, ROH announced on Wednesday that after December’s Final Battle pay-per-view they will be going on a hiatus during the first quarter of 2022 so that they can “reimagine” the company and hopefully return with a fan-focused product in April with the Supercard of Honor event. They still have November TV tapings scheduled for Baltimore, but then Final Battle will be it until April 2022 as they have a venue booked for WrestleMania 38 Weekend in Dallas, presumably for Supercard of Honor. You can click here for the original report on ROH’s statement, and click here for the update on ROH talent releases, the status of the ROH TV show, and more. You can also click here for reactions from ROH wrestlers, and click here for a new report on ROH operating more like a standard indie promotion moving forward.
In an update, Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reports that the ROH tape library is now available and will go to the highest bidder. The library includes early career footage from stars such as Seth Rollins, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Cesaro, Samoa Joe, Adam Pearce, Cesaro, The Young Bucks, Kevin Owens, Impact World Champion Moose, and many others.
It was noted that ROH has been privately trying to move the library, which includes the Sinclair-owned archive from 2012-present) for more than one year now.
ROH is reportedly asking for significant money for the library, said to be much more than the current market dictates.
The ROH tape library also includes the All In pay-per-view form September 2018, which was the precursor to AEW. While AEW owns the trademark, ROH owns the footage for that key event. This, and the fact that stars like Punk and Danielson are now in AEW, would make the library an important buy for AEW, especially as they look ahead at plans for their own network.
WWE reportedly had strong interest in the ROH library at one point and even had talks with the company in 2017. It will be interesting to see if WWE still has that interest as this was back when they had so many former ROH stars being featured on all three brands.
Maria Kanellis Explains An Idea For A Pro Wrestling Festival Where Companies Unite
Maria Kanellis was on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, and was asked if she felt had been given the respect she deserved for her sixteen year career. Kanellis feels she perhaps hasn’t gotten her due, but that it’s alright with her because she’s more focused on getting others to succeed.
“Mike (Bennett) and I always joke that we’re not the cool kids,” Kanellis laughed. “I feel that’s part of it, but that’s okay to me. I never really cared about that. I never really cared about being popular. For me, it’s about putting the best product out there, but also supporting as many humans as I possibly can. And sometimes when you’re doing that, you piss people off, and sometimes when you’re doing that, you go in a direction people are afraid of. That’s okay to me.
“I grew up with a father that was very loud and very harsh at times. Nobody scares me like my father did when I was a kid. So to go off against these different roadblocks, or these ‘no’s’, or whatever, that doesn’t affect me. So I’m willing to do it because I know there’s a bigger purpose behind it, and I enjoy creating those opportunities. So if I don’t get the credit, it’s okay because I see other people succeeding and that’s really important to me.”
Kanellis also talked about dealing with her husband Mike Bennett’s recovery from painkiller addiction, and how that, coupled with having two children, led to her focusing less on herself emotionally and mentally. She has started to focus more on herself and has come to the realization that she needed to cope with the struggles.
“The first part of his recovery, I shut off,” Kanellis said. “I was just like ‘okay, we’re going to get you through this and you’re going to live. We’re not going to lose our jobs.’ A lot of that. Plus, I was pregnant. He told me he had this painkiller addiction, and then two weeks later, I found out I was pregnant. I was like, ‘oh s**t. What am I going to do?’ So I had to really shut my brain and my emotions down completely, and just power through. But I think now is actually the first time we see what effects his addiction and his recovery had on me. So that’s something that’s part of the reason I’m so dedicated to Tag Me In, and the mental health initiative. It’s because you don’t know when those things are going to creep up on you. All of a sudden, I’m like, ‘holy s**t, I need to deal with me now. Alright, what did this mean for my life and my career?’
“I spent four years of my life taking care of an addict, and I didn’t realize I was taking care of an addict. And ‘those were some of the best years of my life’, as people like to say. I don’t think they were, but I was in my early 30’s at that point. And then it was baby, and then baby, and I didn’t really think about me. And now I am, and it’s weird how that hits you. It’s like you go on a trip with all the kids, and you bring everything for them, and you’re like, ‘oh s**t, I don’t even have any underwear.’ And that I think happened for many years. So now, I’m dealing with it. But it helps me to work, it helps me to stat telling this story of ‘yeah, it’s okay. After helping someone with their own addictions, their own recovery, their own mental health, it’s okay to start focusing on yourself and to take care of yourself.’ I’ve been trying to do more and more of that.”
Kanellis also talked about her goals in wrestling, which includes seeing a major wrestling show put together but all the major companies working together right now. She also once again brought up the subject of unionization, something she’d like to see and something she believes can be done.
“We’re talking consistently about unity in the wrestling industry right now,” Kanellis said. “And we’ve seen so much crossover between different companies. And we’ve seen now that everybody is friendly and everybody does want to work together. I’d like to see more of that, and I’d like to see a show that was based on that. I don’t know how it gets done. I would like a festival that is based on the idea of unity and all coming together. Just make it a huge party of wrestlers, and music, and atmosphere, and just celebrate wrestling… I was just on a call with Gail and Mickie talking about Tag Me In, and we were talking about how we can work together more. We’re going to try and consistently try to figure out those ideas of working together more.
“I’m also still a crusader of getting a union at some point. And now everybody’s going to take that and go ‘you can’t do that!’ Unions can have levels, and I truly believe that. And I truly believe that every company does not need to be a part of it in order for it to work for everyone. I think that, to have that insurance and that assurance that we’re all being taken care of would be nice. I think it’s necessary at some point. Again, it’s not across the board, it’s just the idea of having those practices in place.”
