Former Home Of Herb Abrams' UWF Being Demolished

A construction turnstile has replaced an entrance at the front of the Hotel Pennsylvania.

Destruction has begun on the insides of the Pennsylvania Hotel across the street from Madison Square Garden.  Also known as the Penta Hotel, the venue was the home for Herb Abrams' UWF TV tapings in NYC in the early 1990s.  The 100-year old hotel was also the host venue for a ton of pop culture events including the legendary Fangoria Weekend of Horror conventions.

The hotel's phone number Pennsylvania 6-5000 inspired the Glenn Miller song of the same title, which was a huge hit when it was released in 1940.  While the hotel shuttered at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, it's still there if you want are local and want to take a look at the outside, but once the inside is demolished, they will begin knocking down the structure in advance of building a new skyscraper.
