David Von Erich replaces his brother Kevin to go up against Buddy Roberts. But Michael Hayes decides to do some swappin' of his own, so he has Terry Gordy sub for Roberts. One of the wildest matches of the world famous Von Erich-Freebird feud, it would be David's last televised match, airing after he had died in Japan on February 10th, 1984. Post-match, Bill Mercer announces David's death just before the show goes off the air. WCCW, February 1984.
This has always been a 'go to' match for me. When WCCW debuted on tv in Chicago, acouple weeks in they aired this and this was had me hooked on World Class ever since.
