There was an interesting exchange on Twitter last night between Impact executive Scott D'Amore and former talent Kevin Matthews. Matthews responded to a fan who listed him as among his favorite things in Impact (Matthews left when his contract expired and actually turned down post-contract bookings with the company) by saying he wasn't there anymore. D'Amore chimed in and said it was the best Matthews ever looked. Matthews responded that it was the best he was ever paid.
That led to D'Amore saying he was paid double his rate and "who knew it would take this long to figure out people would pay not to see you."
Matthews then responded, "Judging by attendance and viewership it doesn't seem like ppl pay to see anything Impact puts on. I enjoy this game, let's keep paying.
"
D'Amore responded, "Funny our viewship in many part of the world has been consistently high, our Twitch stuff has been consistently on the top 10, our attendance continues to grow and you continue to love to talk about us.
Matthews fired back, "Piggybacking independent companies and drawing 500 people or less for a national TV company is worthy of bragging? Signing people to $300 exclusive contracts making 5K a year is OK? Keep telling yourself that Scott."
D'Amore responded, "Oh, I thought we were being playful! Now I get it, you were being salty. My bad. Sorry we don't live up to your expectations. All the best to you KM."

Matthew closed up the conversation, writing, "I would continue to Tweet you but I'd be afraid we'd be interrupted by a 30 min infomercial for fish hooks. Difference between telling the truth and being salty. All the best."
