AEW Notes

In regard to rumors that Ric Flair was originally set to present the AEW title at Double or Nothing, that is incorrect.  Bret Hart was always planned for that role.

Chris Jericho no-showed his scheduled podcast at Starrcast the day after AEW Double or Nothing, citing that he wasn't coming because the crowd wouldn't thank you.  Jericho informed Starrcast he would not be appearing, which put them in a pretty rough position of having to deal with upset fans.  Jericho sent in a video message that was played with fans being offered free admission into the Dustin Rhodes panel instead.  Matt Striker did an amazing job of quelling a pretty upset crowd.

QT Marshall worked as a producer for the Dustin Rhodes vs. Cody match.

Jerry Lynn worked as a producer on the "Buy In" Battle Royal.

Former ROH official Paul Turner is the head referee for AEW.  Turner has been one of the hardest working refs in the business, so it's nice to see him in that position.

Sean "Bird" Carr, who headed up the ROH ring crew, has been hired here as well to oversee the promotion's ring crew.

There were a lot of former WCW and TNA employees working on the production end of the show.

The AEW Championship was created by Dave Millican.

The Chicago hotel for Starrcast for All Out weekend sold out almost immediately after the third Starrcast was announced.
