MLW Fusion #99: Los Parks vs. CONTRA Unit
Matches:
•Lumberjack Match: CONTRA UNIT vs. Los Parks
•Injustice vs. Zenshi and Laredo Kid
•Plus more!
Two forces notorious for chaos will collide as Los Parks return to MLW for the first time since the shocking ending to Saturday Night SuperFight as they clash with their bitter rivals CONTRA Unit on MLW FUSION.
With four fearless and dangerous competitors colliding, the league will reinforce the ringside perimeter with lumberjacks to contain the guaranteed bedlam that will detonate at the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
In the first-ever lumberjack match in MLW history, Los Parks and CONTRA Unit will have to not only battle each other but manage designated wrestlers ringside, who will surround the ring in the classic lumberjack match fashion.
Tasked with containing the carnage, the lumberjacks could be tempted to unleash a beating to ensure the four loathed competitors keep the action from spilling out on to the streets of South Philadelphia.
The Destroyer and his son vow a vicious receipt for SuperFight.
Standing in their way is a force known for strategic violence and unrelenting attacks.
Will Los Parks make a triumphant return or will the black flag of CONTRA wave victorious over the iconic masks of Los Parks?
After the Dynasty viciously attacked his Uncle Moonman, AJ Kirsch will speak with the “Southern Psychopath” Mance Warner. What will the Bucksnort Brawler have to say about the elitists known as the Dynasty?
Also, one week after inciting a riot in Dallas, Team Filthy speaks to Alicia Atout!
25 years after debuting in the 2300 Arena, Konnan is back and he has some truth bombs for “The Untouchable” Gino Medina.
Plus: the “Rogue Prince” Brian Pillman Jr. will be in the house!

The Sandman Botches Match Finish ( Imagine That) , Goes On Drunken Rant Afterwards
Atomic Revolutionary Wrestling held its three year anniversary at the Space Coast Convention Center in Cocoa, Florida on February 21.
The event featured former ECW star The Sandman, who apparently botched the finish of the Atomic Next Level Championship match that also included Shannon Moore, Chico Adams, and Vertigo. He then went on a "drunken unscripted rant" afterwards.
The promotion released the following statement.
"Pulling the curtain back to let the world know the original scheduled match of The Sandman vs. Shannon Moore vs. Chico Adams vs. Vertigo (C) for the Atomic Next Level Championship was scheduled to go 12-15 minutes. The Sandman was drunk and botched the finish, ending the match in under 3 minutes and proceeded to grab a microphone and go on a drunken unscripted rant and try to play matchmaker. In the night he also called the town 'Orlando' when he was actually in Cocoa, Florida.
"Aside from the many backstage problems, including sexually harassing some of the women wrestlers and insulting the talent on the card, causing damages to the venue and nearly getting into a backstage altercation with talent...this is what occurred in the ring, in front of the curtain. Unprofessional is an understatement with his drunken behavior. Needless to say, we will NEVER work with The Sandman again. Enjoy!"

Eric Bischoff Punks Tony Khan (And Does It With Ease)
As previously reported, AEW President Tony Khan was critical of WCW in a recent article from The Financial Times. Khan said he's taking examples of "what not to do" from WCW.
Eric Bischoff responded to Khan's comments on the latest episode of After 83 Weeks with Christy Olson, pointing out that AEW has a long way to go in matching WCW's success, while chastising Khan for the massive chunk of change he's dropped "to prove that he could be competitive with WWE's developmental territory."
"That's an interesting thing for Mr. Khan to say," Bischoff said. "He's been in the professional wrestling business for, what time is it? It's about a cup of coffee, I think. I think [his] coffee could still be warm at this point. So far he's spent from what I've heard, I don't know if it's accurate or not, I want to make sure I say that, somewhere between thirty and fifty million dollars to prove that he could be competitive with WWE's developmental territory."
Khan said that if WCW had produced competitive shows and run them logically, then the Monday Night Wars would have lasted for decades. Khan added that WCW was badly mismanaged and was a "real disservice" to the fans.
"Call me in a couple years and tell me what you've done that's really unique," Bischoff said. "Call me in a couple years and let me know how you've changed the industry. Call me in a couple years when your show is one of the top, if not the top original piece of programming on the TNT network. Call me in a couple years when you're number two, number three, number four in all of cable programming for the night in primetime, and then let's talk about it. But until then, hmm, I'll just have another cup of coffee and see what happens.

Among Other Lame Ass Shit People Argue Over.. There's, This.. Jim Cornette, Dash Wilder And Others Argue Over Wrestlers Using "Belts Or Titles"
Dash Wilder, Jim Cornette and others are discussing belts vs. championships on social media today.
The discussion started when Sam Roberts responded to a tweet on rapper Drake sporting a WWE Title belt at a Toronto Raptors NBA game this week.
"Belts hold up your pants. Those are championships," Roberts wrote.
Wilder of The Revival responded and insisted that legendary pro wrestlers call them belts - championship belts.
"No, they're belts. Just like every legendary PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER I've ever watched said. Championship belt," Wilder responded in a tweet to Roberts.
Wilder's tweet is seen by some as a potential shot at WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and one of the reported rules he's had in place for several years. Cornette responded and backed up those claims, saying Vince doesn't like the word "belt" being used.
Cornette wrote, "They're f--king belts, and it's a shame even uneducated rasslers think they're 'titles' because Vince thinks the word 'belt' is too 'rasslin'. Here's to the Revival for having enough restraint not to choke a sumb---h who calls a belt a 'title'."
WWE announcer Aiden English also chimed in and tried to lighten things up. He wrote, "You want old school word 'belts' ...he wants the corporate word 'title' -- can we just invent a new one? ...Championship Bandoliers?"
You can see the full exchange below, with comments from Wilder, Cornette, Roberts and English:
If Dash doesn't give a shit then why's he arguing about it so much? DDUUHH! Fucking dumb ass. That's the mentality of goofs online now, they argue a lot then claim "I don't give a shit". If they didn't give a shit then that'd be keeping their fucking mouths shut.. So Thanks Dash for being the latest example of how people get really dumb when they get online.

PACIFIC NORTHWEST STAR RIP OLIVER ENTERS HOSPICE CARE
Larry Richard "Rip" Oliver, 67, who was the top star in the Pacific Northwest for much of the 1980s, has entered hospice care due to end-stage heart failure.
Oliver has suffered several heart attacks in recent years and his condition worsened in recent months. Oliver holds the record with 12 reigns as Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Champion, one more than Buddy Rose, between 1982 and 1991.
Oliver started his career in 1976, as a prelim wrestler Rick Oliver, working around the Southeast. Originally from Florida, although most associate him with Oregon. He arrived in the Pacific Northwest in August 1980 for the first real push of his career. He was linked up with Rose, who had been the area’s top star for several years. He formed a heel group called The Clan, and ended up turning on Rose in 1982, making Rose a babyface. He was the top star in the territory for the next three years, until leaving for Texas.
He returned to Oregon as the top star until signing with WWF in August 1987.
He only had a short run there and returned to Oregon and wrestled for Don Owen until he closed the promotion at the end of 1991
At the end he worked as a babyface when his son, Larry Oliver, got started.

Booker T On Why WWE Should Do Away With Scripted Promos
Before Booker T became a two-time Hall of Famer and six-time World Champion, he struggled on his destiny. During his interview with Lilian Garcia on Chasing Glory this week, Booker T spoke up about his troubled past, including when he was sentenced for 19 months in prison due to robbery. Though many would find their time in prison as a low point in their lives, Booker T felt the opposite.
"The thing is, for me, I can honestly say it's probably the best thing that ever happened to me in my life that I ended up going to prison because I got a chance to literally just stop and rethink my whole life," Booker T openly admitted. "I had two years to rethink what my life was about, what I wanted my life to be. I always knew that I was not one of those kids that wanted to be in the corner in my same neighborhood for the rest of my life. I saw so many of those people. I can go to my neighborhood right now and I'll see somebody that I grew up with. I just knew I didn't want to be that person. I knew prison wasn't going to hold me back also. I knew that life had something better for me. I just didn't know what it was."
While in prison, Booker T recalls the best piece of advice another inmate told him, which helped motivate him to jumpstart his career once he was released.
"This one guy told me 'Youngblood when you get out of here, you can do anything you want to do. You act like it, 9 times out of 10, people will believe it.' When I got out, I took those words, and I took them to heart," Booker T recalled.
As Booker T left prison, he began building his reputation. While studying the art of pro wrestling, Booker T found himself enthralled with cutting promos and figuring out how he could take quotes or lyrics from popular movies and songs and make them his own.
"I was always a clown," Booker T jokingly admitted. "I think that's the key to being a really good wrestler is that you can believe in your own hype. You gotta be able to go out there and see if it sticks. I love music, and that helps me a lot. I've got so many sayings in my head that are just stuck there, and I can go back and pull out something... That's what wrestling is. You have to take little bits and pieces here and there, and you gotta know how to make it your own."
In addition to his discussion about promos, he also mentioned how he wished that wrestlers nowadays, specifically the Superstars in the WWE, could go back to writing their own promos. That way, their authenticity can not only shine in the ring but also on the microphone.
"It's a different world now as far as the scripted promos. I think it takes away a lot of the originality of the guy actually being able to put himself against the wall and have to go out there and get over, the guy to have to think about it, opposed to when you just have someone writing it for you," Booker T noted.
"You're not going to take the time like I did to go and look in the mirror and pretend I'm cutting a promo on myself. You're not going to do that. You're not going to go and look in the mirror and just ... Just to try to make your top lip move, to see how angry you can make yourself look. It's just small, little bitty things. You're not going to take the time to actually try to hone your craft, because you got someone handing it to you unless you're that driven."

WWE Is Pushing That It's The Tenth Anniversary of NXT, When It Really Isn't
WWE is pushing this week as the 10th anniversary of NXT. It's actually the 10th anniversary of the first season of the reality show called NXT on Syfy that replaced ECW on the station. NXT as a promotion started in the summer of 2012.

TAMMY SYTCH LEGAL UPDATE (Updeated 2-25-20-- She Was Paroled)
WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch was released this morning from Carbon County Correctional in Pennsylvania this morning
WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch is scheduled to be paroled from the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania on Wednesday 3/25 following a hearing last week where her attorneys petitioned the court for her release, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Sytch has been incarcerated since March 2019 after a bench warrant was issued for her arrest in the State of Pennsylvania on 2/15/19. That same day, the Carbon County Probation Department filed their motion to revoke her October 2018 parole. Sytch had missed a scheduled drug test on 2/11 and failed to report as directed to her parole officer. She had also failed to maintain a stable residence or report her whereabouts. Court records also indicate that while Sytch made restitution payments of $120 in the months of October and November 2018 as part of an agreed upon payment plan, she had not made any additional payments since that time.
Sytch had been living in New Jersey and has been incarcerated since being arrested on Saturday 2/23/19 when she was pulled over at 6:30 PM on Dupont Avenue in Seaside Heights, NJ by authorities. Sytch was arrested for driving while intoxicated, which was the sixth time since 2015 that Sytch had been arrested for such an offense. On 2/23/19, Sytch was also given a summons for having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, for consumption of alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and careless driving.
Sytch was released by the Seaside Heights Police Department and placed into the custody of the Holmdel Police Department when it was discovered that she had outstanding warrants in the jurisdictions of Holmdel, NJ Police Department for $1,500.00 and Knowlton, NJ Police Department for $1,000.00. Sytch had been charged with Contempt of court - Disobedience/Resistance of Court Command in relation to each of those warrants. Sytch remained incarcerated in Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ until being transferred back to Pennsylvania on 3/20/19.
That transfer was the second time in two years that Sytch was extradited to Carbon County from the Monmouth County Correctional Facility because a bench warrant had been issued in Pennsylvania for Sytch breaking the terms of her parole. Sytch had been arrested in New Jersey last year for failing to appear in court for two DUI arrests in the Garden State. While Sytch was being processed for multiple charges of Contempt - Disobedience/resistance in New Jersey, authorities learned that she was technically a fugitive from justice because a motion had been filed in August 2017 in PA requesting her February 2017 parole from the Carbon County in Pennsylvania be revoked
According to court records, Sytch’s original parole was revoked on 8/25/19. In October 2019, her then-legal counsel withdrew as Sytch’s attorney. A new attorney began representing Sytch the same week and filed a petition for her parole on 1/20.
Sytch's original Pennsylvania DUI charges in 2015 were a result of three separate incidents over that summer.

MLW Fusion #98: Tom Lawlor vs Ross Von Erich | GRUDGE MATCH
Matches:
•Ross Von Erich vs. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor
•Erick Stevens vs. Douglas James
•King Mo in action
•Logan Creed in action!
Since the closing moments of the 2019 Fusion on Thanksgiving special Ross Von Erich has had one objective: get “Filthy” Tom Lawlor in the ring. This week it finally happens as the elder Von Erich brother battles the captain of Team Filthy in a Grudge Match!
Can Ross continue his momentum following last week’s World Tag Team title defense against the Dynasty? Or does the filthiest fighter in the sport have something up his sleeve? Never one to play by the rules, the traitor will take on one of Texas’ own in the heart of Von Erich Country in tonight’s main event.
Knocking out 62% of his opponents in MMA, one of the sport’s most dangerous finishers, King Mo promises to add another victim to his list of wins in Major League Wrestling. Who will step up against the self-proclaimed “Knockout King”?
After weeks heralding total annihilation, Erick Stevens touches down in MLW as he faces off with Douglas James.
James answered the call after league officials made an open challenge for the dangerous Stevens, who had potential opponents decline the challenge due to the potential harm he brings to the ring. Will the kickboxer turned pro wrestler have what it takes to derail Stevens’ entry into MLW? Or will the bigmouth mohawked mauler make a statement in his debut?
PLUS! The Dynasty will be in the house and they’re not happy. What will the elitists have to say? What will they do? Tune in to find out!

NXT Star Reveals He Told WWE He Wanted To Leave (And WWE Says "NNAA, You're Gonna Go To NXT Instead", LMAO!)
Tyler Breeze began appearing at NXT Live Events after WrestleMania last year. He made his TV return to the black and gold brand on the May 22 episode of NXT by starting a feud with North American Champion Velveteen Dream.
Breeze then went one-on-one with Dream at NXT TakeOver: XXV, and it was confirmed after the show that Breeze was a full-time member of NXT once again after nearly four years on the main roster.
It has emerged that before a move back to Full Sail, Tyler Breeze told WWE officials that he wanted to stop wrestling and leave the company.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Breeze revealed that he was unhappy with how he was being used and asked the company to leave. However, they wanted him to stay and suggested a move back to NXT:
“I was like, ‘I don’t think I wanna wrestle anymore. Like, I don’t think I want to.’ I kinda had a conversation like, ‘If you don’t need me I’m good to go. I don’t need to be here.’ It kinda got turned into, ‘Okay, we don’t really wanna see you go so let’s make this work. I mean, that’s when I made the transition down to NXT and it kinda started to reinvigorate me a little bit. I went to a couple of schools around Orlando to kinda try and get the juices flowing again because I was getting really disheartened.
“I started to realize that wrestling wasn’t the problem, wrestling’s awesome. It’s just like when you’re in a certain spot and when you get in a certain mindset it’s hard to kick out of that and I was just in that mindset and I was just getting angry and bitter and I realized that wrestling’s not the problem.”
Of course, there is no confirmation that AEW would have brought Breeze in if he left WWE, but the fact that the promotion has signed with likes of Jake Hager, Goldust and Jon Moxley probably incentivised WWE to stop Breeze from leaving.

WWE Puts ECW Shows On Their Network, But.. Quality Apparently Is The Shits
WWE Network uploaded 10 ECW "Supershows" from 1993-95 on Monday. All of them are in poor quality. In some cases, it seems almost certain that WWE used second or third generation VHS copies from fans instead of ECW's own tapes. This includes the Feb. 1995 "Double Tables" show that had The Sandman vs. Cactus Jack Texas Death Match. What's odd about this is the match was released by WWE on home video back in 2004 in great quality. They were even able to remove Sandman's entrance music without affecting Joey Styles commentary, which indicates they were working with professional tapes with multiple audio tracks. On the Network, though, the match and the whole show is in VHS quality, just like the other 9 shows.
The way WWE micromanages every damn thing, you mean they couldn't manage to do better than this? HHMMM. Sounds like someone was being pretty fucking lazy there.

Mat Memory- WFWA late September/early October 1986 show
The WFWA shows continue with an episode dated somewhere in the late September/early October timeframe, as the promos push a Winnipeg Arena card for 10/22/86. The promotion was still working closely with Eddie Sharkey's Pro Wrestling America, as many PWA names like the Russian Krusher, Red Tyler, and Derrick Dukes, are featured here. Tony Condello was still pushing Bruiser Brody-Bulldog Bob Brown as the top feud, though I'm not sure if the 2 worked on the 09/24/86 or 10/22/86 Winnipeg Arena cards. Unfortunately, George Schire is absent from commentary here (though George's interview with Bob Brown is repeated here). Mick Karch and Ted Stevens provide the call of the action, with interviews handled by an unnamed jabroni who's just as cheesy at Ted Stevens. This show was taped at the Winnipeg Friendship Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Mat Memory- The Power Twins vs Scott Putski & Tony Atlas (December 28, 1988) (Savoldi's ICW)
Tony Atlas' heel run for the ICW/IWCCW has been much discussed, but how many viewers out there saw the match that led to Tony's heel turn? Wonder no more, as that's exactly what you'll see here! The Duke reigned as the lead heel manager of the ICW from the end of 1987 to 1990, assembling a stable that included the likes of Hillbilly Mike, Moondog Spike, and the Power Twins. The Power Twins were comprised of brothers Larry & Davi Power, and were trained by Dr. D David Schultz. The Power Twins broke in around 1986 and worked dying territories and indies alike, including the ICW, Central States, Stampede, Memphis, and Herb Abrams' UWF, to name a few. Here we see the Power Twins face Tony Atlas & Scott Putski in a match taped at the Augusta Memorial Auditorium in Augusta, ME on 12/28/88. Commentary is provided by the awful trio of Mario Savoldi, Bob Dow, & guest Ivan Putski. Following the match is a hilariously bad segment with a dorky, emotional black hole named Steve Tabb (who apparently hosted a segment on ICW TV, although this is the only footage I've seen of him), who attempts to get an interview with the freshly-turned Tony Atlas. Atlas rightfully dismisses the putz and cuts his first heel promo. Such a shame Tony's in-ring work was so pitiful as heel, because his heel interviews were gold. This is from a reairing in 1990 during the ICW's 5th anniversary marathon of flashback shows. The end of the show with Tony Rumble is included.

COL. ROB PARKER RETURNING TO MLW
MLW issued the following:
Colonel Parker approved for manager license in MLW; vows a "reckoning" in Chicago April 18
Colonel Parker returns to MLW with big plans for 2020
CHICAGO -- Major League Wrestling (MLW) today announced Colonel Robert Parker has been approved for a manager license in MLW and will appear at MLW: Intimidation Games Saturday, April 18 at Cicero Stadium in Chicago. The event will be a MLW FUSION TV taping for beIN SPORTS.
While details are sketchy, the office of Colonel Robert Parker released a brief statement touting his presence at MLW’s April 18th card in Chicago at Cicero Stadium where he promises a reckoning for all in MLW.
But what is behind the blowhard Colonel Parker’s statement? Could he be revealing his first signee in nearly two years?
There are whispers Parker is recruiting current MLW athletes as well as some that are not presently on the roster. Many are intrigued to be managed and have their fights promoted by a man whose family’s ties in the sport of professional date back 100 years to 1920.
Southern wrestling promoter and manager Colonel Robert Parker has a sterling reputation for presenting some of the sport’s top grapplers.
The Colonel was last seen leading the charge of his Stud Stable, which came up short in the 2018 Battle Riot. In his two years managing and promoting fights for his boys in MLW, Parker managed to secure title fights and marquee bouts, beating out several others for a presence on prestigious cards.
Colonel Parker joins a trend of managers and promoters representing athletes in the MLW, including Dan Lambert and AAA co-founder Konnan.
Having managed the likes of Steve Austin, Sid Vicious and Harlem Heat as well as promoting wrestling throughout the south, Colonel Parker has a stellar track record for success in the sport.
The question is: who will be next to sign on with his Stud Stable? We’ll just have to wait and see in Chicago on April 18.
